Then after we got that to kind of clear out he got severe nasal and congestion infection which caused green Mucus and he need breathing treatments from the hospital. At this time the Director and I had a conversation and I expressed my frustrations. I spoke about what was the Cleaning procedures in the classroom at the end of the day. I started to pick him up and only then did I start smelling bleach or sanitizer when i picked him up. The teachers in Ms Brittany's class are young so I asked what certifications they had or do they have children of their own which I never got an answer. I told my daughter it was time to take him out. The director asked her to give them the opportunity to prove themselves to be trust that there would be no more illnesses. then about a month later he got pink eye !!! Now im really upset but my daughter says Mom you might be right this place is Not experienced enough. Now a month later he has a skin infection on his skin by his private area which we were told it is contagious and transferred by changing one child and not washing your hands or using gloves during changing time . It is clearing up THANK GOD but i worry about the scar it might leave in his skin . He will NEVER Return to this Place ever Again!!! I just want people to know that our experience with this Daycare is HORRIBLE. If your child has this same issue with Brittany's class it will not stop being a Problem. I Urge you Parents to ask about Change time and what illness are children still able to attend with illnesses that can be contagious. My daughter has to work and I had to stop working to take are of my grandbaby. I care about children and wanted to let Parent s Know your child will experience illnesses that could have been Avoid with Clean a sanitary routines . He is getting better and we are looking for a MUCH Better and Clean Daycare . HAVE LEADERS WHOM KNOW WHAT IT IS TO KEEP SICK CHILDREN SEPARATED OR STAY HOME UNTIL FEELING BETTER. I'm still finding new rooms and amenities that make my membership really worthwhile. Most recently, I discovered the 18+ women's locker room, which is separate from the regular women's locker room and it is absolutely wonderful! It's pretty quiet in there, and it includes vanities, hairdryers, a pumping lounge, a sauna, changing rooms, and lockers. It's a very comfortable space for women, which I can really appreciate! I'm also a big fan of the yoga classes here. Tuesday night's "gentle yoga" is a great class with a fantastic instructor. I always look forward to going! There is a little bit of the spiritual aspect of yoga thrown in, but it is not too much. It is mostly focused on the yoga itself. And while it is a slower-paced class, the instructor will suggest ways to make a pose more challenging. Thursday night yoga is also a good time, and a great workout. It feels more like a fitness class, but it still retains that zen yoga energy. There are also day-use lockers that do not require a separate lock - just entering your own code - next to the yoga studio, which makes storing all my stuff really easy. There is also a lot of workout equipment! There is a good variety of machines for cardio (I love the cardio mezzanine, it's such a nice space overlooking the weight room) as well as for weights. When I do not want to workout in the weight room, I can go into one of their gymnasiums and use the free weights in there as long as there are no classes going on. In general, the Y is pretty clean and updated. The only exception is the regular woman's locker room. The staff have always been kind to me and very helpful when I need something. As for parking, the lot gets pretty hectic. It's on a somewhat busy side street off of a busy main road. The lot itself is tight and strict about the use of the parking pass. Overall, there is a lot offered here and I have always been pleased with my experience here.

This location is a GEM!…read more Located in the historic Ames section of Easton; The North Easton Branch of the Old Colony YMCA is a Cozy, Convenient and Accommodating location both with the staff and programmes offered. The pool section is my personal favourite aspect of this YMCA. Jeremy the Aquatics Director and the Head Life Gaurd Kevin are true professionals and a general pleasure to work with. I swim here 3 days a week and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Keep up the great work!

We'd had a few decent events at GAB, but when our 7-year-old took a class there, their true colors…read moreshowed. In the interest of brevity, here are the lowlights: 1. They put her in a class with four more experienced girls, all of whom knew each other - and the "coach" subsequently ignored those girls making fun of our daughter for not knowing as much. 2. When we brought this to the manager's (Keri) attention, they validated our concerns: "Both the coach and I had to stop the class and talk to them about their behavior several times." But their suggested solution was to move our daughter out of the class instead of continuing to make the other children improve their behavior. When I mentioned a partial refund, she couldn't get off the phone quickly enough. 3. We followed up about this numerous times, and after speaking to us twice, Keri stopped returning our calls. Eventually, we had leave work to visit the business in-person - only to be told that it would be best if they gave us a refund for the remainder of the class (but NOT the poor first few classes) and that she stopped attending. It is very clear that GAB is more interested in money than in helping build kids' confidence and manners. We won't be sending any more business their way, and advise others to stay away.

Had my daughter's birthday party at Gymnastic Academy of Boston in Norwood, and it was a mess from start to finish. VERY poorly organized and badly managed. I had to decorate the party room by myself with the help of other parents since staff was nowhere to be found. Parents were unsure where to go and had to call me to ask for directions. Party didn't start on time since the coached weren't welcoming the kids inside the gym. I wasn't able to attend the actual gym activities and take pictures because I was left with decorating and organizing the party room, including serving all the pizza and cake, making sure that kids were served when they got to the actual room. The place was left to be "run by" 2 young teenage girls, that were also the coaches who were supposed to supervise the kids and coach them through the activities- needless to say how that went.It was clear that they were underqualified, affecting the quality of the event. The only time one of the girls appeared was 10 min before the end to let me know that if we exceed the time, we will have to pay, she did care to say that while I was sweating, serving cake to the kids and even after witnessing that she just left. During the gym time, there was hardly any supervision for the kids, and they were jumping around dangerously, almost hurting each other, I heard that from multiple parents after the event was over (what an embarrassment). To make matters worse, I called the business after and asked to speak with the manager, Cindy, who returned my call after many follow ups. I explained that I would like to see the safety and staff issues addressed and compensation is more than appropriate. She assured me that she will call me back to touch base and never did. I followed up by phone and email and eventually received a reply from one of the employees offering 1 camp day. I replied that are all set for camp and that's far from an appropriate response for the organization and safety issues experienced as paying customers. I have not heard back since. This could have been resolved efficiently if my complaints were recognized and assured to be addressed along with appropriate compensation. Since neither happened I felt being brushed off which aggravated the situation even more. I am not the complaining type but given that this was my daughters birthday party and the feeling of being treated as a nuisance rather than a respected customer I decided to call the higher management and complain not only about how the event went but also about the management's unprofessional and disrespectful behavior towards their customers. I spoke with Jamie, who is the owner of the Acton location, and he was terrific and overall a great manager. He explained that the 3 GAB locations are individually owned, and he is in charge of the Acton location, while Miss Cindy is in charge of the Norwood location and is actually the daughter of the establishing founders. This is really unfortunate because if you have a problem, Cindy is the person in charge and good luck in getting an appropriate problem-solving solution from her or being taken seriously as a paying customer. Jamie really cares about his business and his clients and took full responsibility for our poorly executed event, apologizing for it and offering to throw my kids next bday party in the Acton location. He even mentioned that he tried himself to speak with Cindy about our event but is still waiting to hear back from her since she is traveling (which often seems the case every time I tried to contact her). Jamie successfully salvaged the reputation of the Acton location and I will be more than happy to conduct future business with him. This post is an adequate closure for me to let other present and future paying costumers know how this business operates. Just sad that it affected my daughters special birthday party that we were all so looking forward to.

I come here mainly on weekends, when my home Y closes way the heck too early (4pm vs 7pm here)…read more I'd say that about 70-80% of their equipment is fine. Lots of free weights and strength machines. The highlight is the huge, high-ceilinged (30-40ft?) functional fitness space that features a turf area, a sled, kettlebells, plyo boxes, plyo smash balls, a do-it-all calisthenics multi-station that includes weighted pulleys, dip and pullup and monkey bars, a free hanging real boxing bag (nice angled uppercut bag that's just the right weight to make you "dance" to avoid the swing back, yet forgiving enough that you can punch it without gloves without risking a broken wrist or bruised knuckles), a pair of Assault bikes and treadmills, a Concept rower, some meh Schwinn stationary bikes (more on that later), and two full squat cages with plenty of plates and barbells. So, what about the other 20-30%, you ask? Well, their cardio machines range from so-so to unusably lousy. All the treadmills are Precor, which are a clear step down from the Life Fitness TMs most Ys have: smaller uglier fuzzy screens with spotty internet connection that can freeze up in the middle of a workout, noisier and less stable platform. The stationary bikes are a mix of Precor (typical mediocre gym bike with crap ergonomics where you feel like you're on a creaky toy bike pedaling against some barbaric pad not magnetic resistance) and Espresso (video-gaming type bike clearly designed to seduce ADD teenagers or lazy af adults) and the horrible Schwinn bikes (just as bad as most home exercise bikes, you can understand why people mostly use them as clothes hangers). Please please please can you guys get at least a few KEISER bikes? We know you can have decent taste in cardio machines because you kept your CONCEPT rowers instead of choosing some oversized gym-brand rowers which look impressive but have similarly lousy ergonomics. Oh and they have non-mechanical Assault brand treadmills which nobody uses because they are brutal on the knees, too narrow and unstable. I don't know who was in charge of choosing the cardio equipment, but that person needs to be put to work cleaning the bathrooms or something more appropriate! The other major gripe I have is their sauna --- it's spacious and new and pretty, but who in the hell decided to have only ONE row of seating? Completely idiotic, folks: did you not pass seventh grade Life Science, where they teach you that heat RISES, and that's why all real saunas have TWO levels of seating, with the 2nd one being a good 4-5 feet off the ground so that you get the full benefit of the heat in the room? Here you have to STAND on the damned low benches if you want to get a decent sweat in ... the sauna thermometer reads 170F but if you're sitting down you'd be lucky to get 140-150F, which is useless. (The sauna of the Melrose YMCA has the same idiotic mistake.) So, while I'm grateful that this Y offers me decent hours to work out on weekends making the long drive out there worthwhile, their cardio machines selection and sauna design really really need a rethink.

The left side has an obstacle course, floor mat to run and play parachute, and foam ball pit! This is where we spent most of our time. The middle election has floor trampolines where they took a couple runs around and then the right side had a blow up centipede where the kids enter thru the mouth, go over a hill out the end. Then they are ushered into the party room for food, drinks, cake, etc. it was very organized but was lacking enthusiasm from the instructors. Plenty of parking and again, very clean! I wanted to comment on another review where the family was ushered out for lack of participation. Our kiddo wasn't into it either and sat off to the side with us for most of it but we had no issue with the staff asking us to leave, thankfully. So seems like they've changed their policy which is great!

The facility was clean, inviting and over the top FUN!! The staff at Energy was incredible. They welcomed each child as they came in and were genuinely happy to see all of the children. The staff made the experience fun for all. In a kind and caring way they encouraged the children that were hesitant to try things and celebrated with and kept safe (in a non-punitive way) the children who ran from area to area trying everything! BEST EVENT EVER!!!

I'm a disabled veteran and have certain accommodations that I'm learning how to ask for. I was worried it wasn't for me. But they reassured me I belong there and can benefit greatly. Taking the time to listen to someone is rare these days. But it's the difference between someone being just a data point vs a person for a company. Exceptional customer service is an art form. The best make it look effortless. They made a difficult situation disappear over a simple conversation. Kudos!
