Came here for a quick workout and sauna because it's the closest Y to the Wrentham Outlet Mall, where I dropped off my friend for her shopping expedition. What amazed me: 1. The staff member working in the fitness area (moderately sized but very nice quality equipment and lots of natural light) was actually DOING SOMETHING, i.e. walking around and putting stuff back in their proper places! Never seen that at any other Y I've been to, where staff just stand around, fiddle with their phones, and generally just use up oxygen---unless they are personal trainers working with a paying client. Not only that, the guy actually noticed that I was new and came up to me, introduced himself and offered help if I ever needed any! Absolutely flabberghasting staff behavior for a YMCA, lol! If only every Y were like this. 2. The fairly new, spacious, and coed sauna next to the pool area (there are no longer single sex saunas in the locker rooms, I was told) was actually heated to a decent temperature (190F according to the thermometer hanging on the wall at chest level) AND had two levels of seating so you could actually get a decent sweat on, as opposed to some Ys that for some boneheaded reason have only a single low bench which is completely useless because duh, heat RISES so why in the hell would you want to be sitting so low when it's already maxed out at some wimpy 150F? (Cough cough, Melrose and Framingham YMCAs.) The disadvantage of a poolside sauna though is that it's a pain to go back and forth back to the locker room shower for a cold rinse every 10-15 minutes, as opposed to a locker room sauna---but this is not a fatal flaw. 3. The treadmills were by a brand called Matrix I had never seen before and I got on one hoping that it wouldn't totally suck like the Precor treadmills---happily, it did not, though I was disappointed at how tiny the screens were after being spoiled by the huge 24" screens of the Life Fitness treadmills at my home Y in Cambridge. BUT it had one beautiful feature the big fancy LF treadmills lacked: a built in cooling fan at the top of the console, which was absolutely delightful! Wish this feature were standard on EVERY piece of gym cardio equipment, lol. Only a few minior gripes about this place: - Almost all the stationary bikes were the geriatric recumbent kind. No Keiser bikes, which are the only ones with decent ergonomics and that actually feel like you're pedaling a real bike. - Kettlebells are few and max out at 22kg, which is barely enough for one handed swings and presses, but much too light for loaded carries or two handed swings. - Oh and it'd be nice if they had some hanging boxing bags, or at least one. This is one of the things that sets the Cambridge Y apart: an abundance of free-hanging real boxing bags, not the useless water-base standing bags. This gym appears to have neither. Overall though, this is a very good Y and I will be sure to return next time I'm in the area! read more

A good choice for fitness, sport, and youth services. Our family has been patrons of the Foxborough YMCA for a since it opened decades ago. This location has grown in a positive way adding services families and singles both appreciate. The gym is well fitted out with almost every piece of equipment one might need, and it is well maintained. Staff are always present to provide assistance, insure sanitation, and ensure the equipment is functional. The pool lad a number of lanes for swimmers in addition to an are for family swims. A track, basketball court, and exercise studios are present indoors. The later are often used for classes. Many services are available for children including care while parents work out, youth leagues, birthday party facilities, etc. There has also been a popular adult set of leagues. Annual membership is quite reasonable and the are options for various groups including single parents. There are also options for day use or bringing guests. We love this Y and will definitely continue with our membership. read more

We have been members of the Hockomock YMCA in Franklin for the past 10 years and just found out that we can use our membership at the other locations in the Hockomock family! Additionally, we heard that the pool at the Foxboro Y was fantastic so we checked it out! It was like a day at an indoor waterpark...fun slides and a few water features had my kids attentions for hours! With that said, we decided to have our daughter's 10th birthday pool party at the Foxboro Y. Our daughter was so excited, she could hardly wait! The morning of her birthday we received a call from the party director that the Y lost power due to high winds and the pool was closed, but we could still have a crafts party...considering this was a mix or boys and girls, boys don't like glitter. We had no choice. She said she would call if anything changed. We decided not to tell our daughter and see if anything changed. Nothing changed...the power was on, but the pool didn't have time to recover...crafts it was. The party director was so nice. She offered us a refund and free pool passes for our guests...as well as another pool party for my daughter. She was still crushed. We did our best with the crafts and snacks but the boys grew restless...then the Gods smiled on us, the pool was OPEN! We had an hour left...so we quickly changed these disappointed kids into their suits and SPLISH SPLASH! We were in business! Long story short....the folks at the Y did an amazing job! All the staff did their very best to make our little girl's day special, regardless of the set backs. No refunds needed! The kids had a blast and I am and will always be a fan of the Hockomock YMCA! read more

The specialty of this place is all their smiles and never complaining customer service. 3) The group classes are great for the monthly fee. 4) The Membership is flexible (but has a joining fee associated). 5) The pools are wheelchair friendly with lifts. 6) The bathrooms are accessible and huge. 7) Lorraine Brue, the Zumba instructor was my magnet and she kept me loyal to my regular workouts What could be improved: 1) The parking gets crowded quickly during evening hours of work days. read more

I just switched to this YMCA from the South Shore Y in Hanover, which was pretty much the best gym I'd ever been to. While nothing can really top that place, this one comes pretty damn close. The facility has been completely renovated and expanded in the past year, with a new pool and exercise facility. The aquatics center is open and bright, with a steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi that are always kept clean. The pool is always clean and at a perfect temperature. The only downsides to this place: they occasionally close the entire pool for swim lessons, some of the equipment in the fitness center is a little old, and they can be slow to fix things (like broken shower heads). But those are minor complaints, overall this facility is as good or better than any for-profit gym you could find in the area... and here your membership fees go to a good cause! I was a member here for four months. Nice facility with new equipment. Staff is friendly and helpful. Steam room/sauna is co-ed which I am not a fan of, I prefer them in the locker rooms but I enjoyed them nonetheless. Hot tub and pool stay pretty clean with high tech UV germ killing system. I really enjoyed the Yoga and Spinning classes, the instructors were great at positive motivation. I only cancelled my membership after my lock was cut, my locker was broken into, and I was robbed. So beware, definitely use a lock and a sturdy one at that. Worth the monthly membership fee though, for sure! read more

Great YMCA facility. A nice pool, with an area for kids. There's also a steam room and sauna adjacent to the hot tub. A decent selection of elliptical and treadmills, as well as a machine and free weights section. Peak times seem to be before and after work, and can be difficult to find a treadmill. read more

OMG...took my five year old son to the Y so he could play in the kid's area today. We were there for about 10 minutes when he came out of one of the tunnels with his pants and socks soaked in pee! He had stepped on it/sat on it/crawled through it somehow and it was EVERYWHERE! Totally gross and he stunk to high heaven. Didn't have a change of clothes with me so had to strip him down and wrap him in my coat to get him in the car. Came home, gave him a bath head to toe, and now we get to spend the rest of the day at the laundromat washing the pee from his clothes. Oh what fun!!! The YMCA staff didn't do anything to help us out. They just sat there and watched me scramble to find something to wrap him in on this cold winter day...they couldn't have cared less. Very disappointing because we have a family membership there and pay a pretty hefty sum of money each month. They should have done more/been more concerned. I know I would have helped if something like this had happened to one of my customers. read more

The YMCA is a great gym with alot to offer. Excellent group classes especially the extreme boot camps on Tues. nights - Quite the workout!!! They just bought alot of new equipment and the weight area is a good size. Def worth checking out! read more

The Foxboro branch of the Hockomock area YMCA is by far the cleanest, most helpful, most interactive fitness facility I have ever had the pleasure of using. The locker rooms are kept very clean, the trainers are always on hand to offer advice and assistance and the front desk personnel make working with schedules and directions as easy as possible. Perhaps the best thing, though, is their summer camp program - Camp Waupaca - which also has extensions for all school vacation weeks. Talk about a hidden gem! Where else will you find a staff so dedicated to your kids that your child is in TEARS at the end of the summer...not because camp ended, but because they are going to miss their counselors that much! And on top of that, for what might be the lowest weekly fee around, you get not just swimming and outdoor activities, but also weekly field trips - yes...ONE FIELD TRIP PER WEEK NOT JUST ONE FOR THE WHOLE SUMMER! Then, during school vacations, they do daily field trips for less than $50 per camper! (They don't go on the holidays that fall during vacation like Xmas Eve, Xmas, NYE, NYD or President's Day). This is a really nice facility. One of the nicer Y's out there. What I did not like about my visit there was on a Saturday the swimming pool was so crowded it was almost standing only. It reminded me of a public pool in Boston on a hot summer day. Even the gym is extremely crowded. What really bothered me about my visit was I forgot a Puddle Jumper ( kids life jacket ) in the family locker room. When I went back the next day it was gone. Someone stool a kids life jacket that even has my sons name on it. I have been to plenty of YMCA's and never had anything stolen before. Make sure you bring a lock with you. read more

There is a large basketball community at this ymca, usually there are at least fifteen if not more people on the courts all the time, the problem is the online schedule is almost always wrong and more than 7 times that I have called they give me the wrong information for example I called and was told courts were open, I then asked the front desk as I walked in and they said it was open till closing. After playing for about fifteen minutes they come in and say it's now closed for a birthday party. This is not the first time. In addition often times they will close half court for a party and the other half is covered in gymnastics items, the staff does not clean up the gymnastics after its use it is usually left there without use for hours and sometimes more than one day. The staff does not give out the proper information for the courts and do not clean up the gymnastics equipment when it is out of use. read more

I moved to the area 5 years ago from out of state. The Foxboro and North Attleboro Y's were the first places we started building a connection to the area in, and thank goodness for it. I am a big fan of the sports programs there. If you have an active child, you can get them engaged in active safe sports programs with a focus on fun and sportsmanship as early as 3 years old. The swim programs are great too, and I find the workout facilities to be extremely good - given what you pay per month, the value you get out of a membership is fantastic. I also have to mention the staff, who do a great job, especially with the kids. In particular, the Sports Director and all the college kids who act as counsellors at the summer camp - my kids love the staff, and they really know how to get the best out of the kids they work with. I think the people who work at the Y are what make the real difference, and make me and my family enjoy our time there so much. I would recommend membership to anyone, but families in particular. read more

My son has been a member of the Foxboro YMCA since he was 2 years old. He takes swim classes during the winter months, soccer and basketball. This is his second year attending Jr. Wapawca summer camp at the Foxboro YMCA. The counselors and staff make his experience so enjoyable. They are attentive, fun, silly and always willing to give your child any extra attention they may need. He loves swimming every day and enjoys all the extra activities (relay races, raising the flag, songs, bounce house, snack contest and guest visitors). His favorite visitor so far has been the magician. He is looking forward to spending future summers at the YMCA and is excited when he will be old enough to go to the awesome day trips the older kids get to go on. As a parent when you drop off your child and you are greeted with such warm smiles and the counselors know your child's name and welcome them it is a great feeling. The facility is always clean and the front desk staff is always able to answer any questions or assist members. I recently starting taking swim class with my 1 year old daughter and excited for her to share the same experiences as her brother. I would recomend the Foxboro YMCA as the facility and staff are amazing. read more
