As someone who easily gets intimidated by commercial gyms and weight lifting, I sought out a way to…read moreprioritize fitness and strength training in a more personalized way-- that's how I found Method Fitness. Jack Hammond and I regularly met throughout the week for 60-minute training sessions. I can't emphasize this enough-- his enthusiasm, encouragement, and overall knowledge about training undoubtably helped me achieve my goals. Not only did he constantly challenge and push me to improve and train harder; but he did so with a positive attitude. Obviously just by looking at Jack, you'll be able to tell he knows a thing or two about fitness and lifting (the guy is ~~ripped~~), but what sets Jack apart from the other "bro-science" personal trainers, is that he is ACE-certified, has a bachelor's degree in kinesiology, and also has experience with college athletics. His overall understanding about fitness is all backed by his years of experience + knowledge about science-based explanations ... now I don't know about you, but I don't think I could have asked for a more qualified trainer. Due to personal obligations and a career change, I'm no longer able to train at Method as regularly. The good news is that I'll always be able to keep the lessons I've been taught on proper form, correct movements, acceptable adjustments, and lastly-- my higher and improved self-esteem.

I love Method's take on fitness: they recognize that everyone has a different fitness journey, that fitness goals vary, and that getting healthy is a process. By working with Adam and Nigel, I've learned that changing my body composition and dietary discipline has to be habitual, and that success is related to consistency. They've also taught me there is no magic pill, no fantasy workout, no fancy sweatmore sweatpants that are gonna burn my fat, lift my butt, and sculpt my arms; only my hard work will achieve those things. And that the hard work is WAY worth it. With Adam and Nigel's guidance, my weekly workouts have progressed hugely over time. I've dropped weight, changed my body composition, increased my cardio capability, and am strong as hell. Worried about Method being way too bro-tastic for your tastes? No worries there. Amahl, the owner, does an incredible job curating a team of trainers that is dedicated to a healthful lifestyle and are super fit themselves, but somehow lack the macho-man-cool-story-bro gene. Worried about Method not being hardcore enough for you? No worries there, either. These trainers are SERIOUS. I see some of the trainers' personal workouts while I'm coming and going in the space - and their strength, ability, stamina, and discipline AMAZE me. Super inspirational. Couple other plusses: the space is clean and beautiful, parking is easy peasy, there are always fresh towels to wipe your brow, and spring water is provided to quench your thirst. In short, integrating Method into your fitness routine is nothing but a good thing. You'll get where you want to go faster, with better knowledge, and with great guidance.

Anytime Fitness markets itself as a safe, supportive, and community-based environment. Many members--including teenagers and young adults--utilize the gym as a constructive outlet for mental clarity, personal discipline, and healthy routines. A facility of this nature carries an implicit responsibility to maintain professionalism, neutrality, and respect toward all paying members. Instead, the owner's behavior has created an environment that is increasingly confrontational, poorly managed, and damaging to the Anytime Fitness name. The following issues are ongoing and well-documented among members: * Repeated rude, dismissive, and hostile interactions with members, inconsistent with any reasonable standard of customer service. * Failure to return calls or respond to member complaints, while continuing to charge dues, raising concerns of improper business practice. * Public and inappropriate social media commentary, including insinuations involving children and steroid use. Such statements are reckless, inflammatory, and potentially defamatory, and they expose the franchise and brand to reputational risk. * Arbitrary removal or expulsion of members without transparent policy justification, creating an atmosphere of intimidation rather than support. * Unacceptable cleanliness and maintenance conditions, implicating health and safety expectations required of a fitness facility. * Lack of consistent ownership presence or managerial oversight, leaving members without accountability or appropriate operational supervision. This pattern of conduct constitutes, at minimum, a serious deviation from the standards expected of an Anytime Fitness franchisee and threatens the goodwill and public trust associated with the brand. Corporate has an obligation to ensure franchise locations operate in a manner consistent with Anytime Fitness policies and member safety expectations. Failure to address these issues promptly risks further reputational harm not only to this location, but to the franchise system as a whole. Additionally, it is important to note that these concerns are not isolated. A deeper review will reveal that multiple complaints have been raised not only by members, but also through town-level channels and public records. What is particularly troubling is that when members attempt to seek assistance or file complaints through the appropriate avenues, the matter is routinely redirected back to the franchise owner herself. This creates an obvious conflict of interest and effectively eliminates any meaningful opportunity for resolution. Members are left with no practical recourse when the individual responsible for the misconduct is also the sole point of contact for addressing it. In many cases, communications are either ignored entirely or met with dismissive and unprofessional responses. As a result, even attempts to report concerns anonymously feel futile, as all complaints ultimately route back to the same source. This undermines member trust and raises serious questions about accountability and franchise oversight. This gym is located in Burrillville RI

Im super glad I was able to find this place! When I got there, she warmly greeted me and made sure I had everything I needed, even asking me if the music was to my liking (it was!). This is an extremely well-equipped weightlifting gym with 8 full size platforms, Olympic bars, bumper plates, power racks, blocks, and chalk stands. Thinhs were super well organized, even down to the order to the plates. Throw in a few Hookgrip / ATG / USA Weightlifting banners and I was good to go! The first thing Mary had me do were some overhead squats on a vibrating plate to loosen up my muscles. Afterwards, I got on the platform and did a few snatches with just the bar. She mentioned there would be a class soon and, not wanting to miss out on coaching, I gladly agreed to take the class. Mary was super attentive and gave her full attention to watching each lifter perform the complexes she programmed. Each lift was videotaped on an iPad, and between lifts, Mary reviewed the footage with me 1 on 1 to identify issues with my form. I could see exactly what she was talking about, and fixing these problems really helped me extend and catch more confidently. Needless to say, I absolutely love this visual approach to coaching, and her advice was very easy to understand. I only wish that I had more time to spend at this gym. Their drop-in rate is $20, or $30 to drop-in and take a class, which I think is very reasonable given the quality of the coaching and how nice the facility is. I'll definitely be back to visit when I am in the area again!

I had only a couple of bad experiences like being told by an instructor that I cannot wear my noise canceling earbuds. I was so overwhelmed because i was called out that I ran out in tears. I was brave enough to speak to a trainer who I worked with briefly and they helped me greatly in letting me know the actual rules here. Trainers are very kind and will help! Be mindful that regular X classes are instructors not employed directly by the edgy gym and don't always follow protocol or get a bit power hungry? Or set up their own rules I guess.
