They will do the work you ask, break something else, and charge you to fix it. I have an '04 sporty and do all my work myself, only thing I can't do is mount and balance tires. I had just done my pads and brake fluid less than a week before my tire change appointment. Drove in with working brakes, then they called me up saying my rear brake doesn't work. I got my bike home and found they had replaced my rear brake fluid with some unknown fluid and blamed me. They wanted to charge me $350 to fix what they did to my bike. I have photos, videos, and saved the unknown liquid I found in my brake line and reservoir, and now they will not even respond or acknowledge me and their mistake. I really hope you don't take your bike here, because I guarantee that you'll receive a call saying there's something wrong with it when there wasn't to begin with. Note: I'm posting the photos that I took while fixing their mistake. As you can see there was some clear liquid in my reservoir, and the same liquid coming out the caliper as I was bleeding it. I bled just a little off my front and you can see it's purple Dot 5, just like the cap and manual say to use. read more

I had ann Incredibly disappointing experience with the Fox River Service Department. I brought my bike in for them to install new header pipes and the Vance & Hines fuel pack 4. The only item they installed was the header pipes. They did not install the fuel pack 4 but they charged for the installation of the fuel pack 4. I called the service department the next day and they said they installed it and then they removed the fuel pack 4. I know it is an option that you don't have to leave the fuel pack 4 connected. That said without it connected to the bike you cannot use any of the fuel pack 4 features. Why spend that amount of money on the device and labor to not use any the the fuel pack features at least they should have asked what I was going to use the fuel pack 4 for. They did not. read more

I have been to this location several times to look at clothing as well as bikes and I tend to find the staff a little bit pushy, but they seem to be trying to be helpful. They certainly don't ignore their customers. However, I adore this H-D for their ability to have fun! I have participated in several of their charity rides and they by far, have the art of organizing a group ride down to a fine art. From the PR, registration, set up, intersection escorts, return parking assignments and after party, they KNOW how to get 'er done and have fun along the way. They tried to charge me an extra 100 dollars after the detail for something I had done 6 months prior and claimed they forgot to charge me for (adjust neck bearing). Worst experience with finance department I have ever had. First of all they will charge you a $795.00 reconditioning fee on a used bike that they have no idea what they do for that money. Also have no paperwork that claims what they did for that money. Very clueless employees. Managers are all a joke too. This dealership should be out of business. Very poor management and experience. I called and left multiple messages for a manager to reach out to me in regards to the very poor experience I had with the finance department/ gentleman. I gave them many chances to rectify my dispute before posting on social media and all the other public sites, but as you can see they failed. I had my brother and a friend and my cousin all ready to purchase from here and I put a stop to that real quick after what I went through. I bought my first harley from there. The sales rep was nice enough when I was inquiring about the bike over the phone, but when I was there in person, I felt like I was being strong armed into buying it. I understand that they are trying to push a sale, but I was uncomfortable during the whole process. I especially thought they were treating me this way because it was my first purchase and I didnt know any better. I ended up buying the bike bc I was in love with it, but I wish I had a better experience. I live in Rockford and hang around Kegel HD and all I can say is, I wish my first experience buying a bike was with them. They're really friendly and helpful. The freaking sales rep was teaching me how to change my motor oil while in the show room. We were both laying on our bellies to locate the oil plug and filter of a similar Dyna model. I spent about 2 months prior to this last purchase going in and talking with Jimmy M about different bikes and what I wanted. He always took the time to talk and answer any and all questions I had. He was never in a hurry to drop me, even in the couple months prior when I would tell him I'm still just looking. When people talk about certain dealers really treating you like family, FRHD does just that. I'd highly recommend this dealer to anyone looking for a new or used bike. My review is for parts and the motor clothes and not service because I enjoy working on my own scoot. The store is extremely large and very clean. Whenever I've had a question about parts or accessories they have been both prompt and professional. When I needed a seal that no other dealership had in stock, they had it. It was a relief not having to wait days and not able to ride because of a two dollar part. Motor clothes is well stocked and has excellent sales. When my wife needed a jacket in a women's petite it was a pleasant surprise that they stocked petite sizes as many other stores don't. Today when enjoying a ride on a sunny day I stopped in and bought a most unusual and cool Harley-Davidson Chicago Black Hawks shirt (that I hope to be able to post a picture of). They even have an active and friendly HOG Group that sounds like fun to belong to. If you like British motorcycles they are a Triumph dealer too. Steve McQueen rode Triumphs, so I'm not going to give them a hard time over that. As long as they have two wheels, I'm cool with that. read more

Terrible experience with the service department. I scheduled the 5K mile service of my H-D Heritage Classic. The scheduled day was Wednesday. I left my motorcycle Tuesday night itself. They did not do anything until Friday. No information. No call. No text message. It is extremely hard to get anyone on the phone, so I visited them to know the status of my motor cycle. They said they hadn't even started. The front desk staff was discourteous and had such a condescending behavior. Instead of regretting and apologizing the lady preached me and blamed me of not being understanding of how busy she was. Nevertheless, I asked them to return my motorcycle. She made me wait another 30 mins to get my motorcycle out and had me sign a waiver that the oil level was dangerously low, else she wouldn't give me my keys. It looks like they drained the oil but did not complete the service and wanted me to take the blame if anything went wrong. Such a pathetic and disgusting experience. read more

It was an excellent experience from the time I walked into the store right up to picking the motorcycle up on Saturday morning. When I was waiting for an appraisal on my bike the gentleman in the clothing department spent some of his time in conversation with me. The sales manager did an excellent job as well as the gentleman in financing. Excellent overall experience and I have been to four other dealerships in the last month not including the 2 I went to while visiting my daughter in California. I went into this location needing a new belt for my bike. I went straight to the service desk and explained my issue to Jim behind the counter. He was so helpful and new exactly what I needed. I wish I new the name of the driver that picked up my Harley at my house so I could thank him. He lives in the same town as me and knew exactly where I was at. I had only been in here to pick up a small item once. Other than giving my credit card, had no conversation or given my name, yet the next time I cm in the counter guy greeted me by name and has ever since. They have Harley Pricing (read: you pay for the emblem) however are well stocjked and seem to be very accommodating and knowledgeable. I see they encourage new riders since they seem to always have classes going both inside and out. I joined the HOG chapter here, and they must have a good working relationship with the dealer, because they asked if I just bought the bike. I said no but inquired why they asked and was told new bike owners are not charged for the current years dues. It turns out it does not matter where you buy your bike, however Fthe dealer definitely has made the chapter welcome. While I have a dealer closer to home, this is one of the two I prefer to frequent and to date have bought all my parts there when possible. I would recommend. read more

Stay away from this dealer! I went there looking to buy a 2019 leftover Heritage they had on the floor. Talked with Patrick, I was looking for the OTD price with my trade. Initially, the number with my trade was 17k but needed my trade evaluated. After grumpy used bike guy came back and gave a lowball offer and made up a bunch of garbage about my bike then OTD and trade was 17.9K. We shook on that number but he needed to confirm it with his manger. After a conversation with his manager, the number went to 18.9K but he wanted to try to split it with me and then was all over the place, never did get a final number. I walked as I wanted to look at the Indian one more time, was put off by the cost going up and them slamming the Indian. We agreed he would call me the next day. No call so I followed up with an email, never received any response. I decided to call a few days later and talk to a different salesperson as they had the bike I wanted. I was ready to buy that day, he looked everything up and they came back at 19K. They went up a total of 2K in their negotiations. They need to provide some training to their salespeople as lack of follow up and poor negotiating strategy cost them my business. I'll never set foot into this dealership again or any of Windy City - Fox Motor Sports owned dealers. I bought the bike from an independent dealer the next day. read more

Other than that, this place has been an all-around disappointing experience for years; it's a corporate conglomerate that pretends to give two shits about your satisfaction. I want to fox river harley to see if I can get my 2008 ultra classic front fender repaired, it's been two years I got a dent on it and every time I rode it it killed me , so stopped at fox river , looked around there beautiful showroom , tempted to buy another, and then spook with Damian ,and Freddy at parts , they where very helpful with all my questions about up grades on my bike and now future plans are made for upgrades, they lead me to Anyhony DiGloria in service department showed him pics of my fender , he told me it would look like new after they get it fixed , I took a chance , price was very reasonable ,I pulled fender off myself dropped off , within to weeks got it back , cant even tell where dent was very pleased with all staff knowledge, and friendly service, thank you so much see you guys soon read more

Awful Service Department. Brought my HD if for a 5000 service. 1. Lou stated it would be done in a week. 2. On day 8 I called, I was told it was scheduled for work the next day. 3. Called end of day 9. Lou stated he would walk to the back and check, call me back, as it was on the rack almost completed. - no call. 4. Called the next day day 10. Whoever answered ( Andrew? ) said it was scheduled to be worked on in a couple days. Never heard back on bike status. 5. Called GM Jim day 12 - stated what transpired. He said he would take ownership, resolve, call me the next morning. NO CALL BACK. ( Lou lied about it being almost done and on the rack ) 6. I called GM Jim back end of day 13. Jim stated they could finish bike on day 17. Given lack of integrity, honesty, skill and customer service. I told Jim that they could not be trusted - his response was they had that coming. 7. Day 13 I picked up my bike, no work was completed. Lou had lied to me, calls were not returned from Lou or Jim, bike was dusty dirty from sitting there. If you value your bike, I would strongly suggest you avoid this location. If you are purchasing, I would avoid this location as any post sale work will be a challenge at best. If the owner or anyone from management above the GM would like to discuss this I would be happy to. When the GM acknowledged that they can't be trusted your organization has issues. read more

Fox River service department is terrible. Communication to the customer is god awful. Seems like no one wants to answer the phone when you get directed to the service department. It's like you owe them one for taking your bike there. Dropped the bike off for warranty work and had to call every day to see the status of my bike. Was never told that there were 10 plus bikes ahead of me. Didn't actually work on the bike three days later. They finally told me that they were going to work on my bike after I told them I was going to pick it up due to them not working on it It would be nice to communicate and actually be concerned. They could care less who you are. Individual attention to every customer would make this a better dealership Next time Im taking my bike to WOODSTOCK HARLEY read more

One star is over rating this place. First let me say that the clothing women have it together so this does not reflect them. The service is what I'm rating. This is the only Harley Davidson I have been to over the last 10 years where there's service tech's seem to be replaced every 6 months, therefore, showing no stability in tech's. Furthermore, this correlates with having the worst service, and their supervisor in that department, who also seems to be replaced every year, allows shortcuts and shoddy workmanship to go out the door. Unfortunately, I have used this resource due to location between me and them over the last five years. I continuously have to revisit to have them fix things, and it always seems as if I'm bothering them. This past Thursday I called to explain that the recent 15K service I had done was to include fluid changes, and my oil tank was lower than The Fill line, they told me to "drop off the bike and hopefully I will have it back within the next week but they don't have time to deal with that right now." I called Woodstock Harley-Davidson / KTM, and they were willing to pick up my bike 40 miles away to fix Fox Rivers problems. I went this route, and was told by their tech department, to stay away from Fox River as they tend to see an alarming influx of Fox Rivers customers come in to their location to have service problems fixed. According to Woodstock, people would rather drive that far just to stay away from Fox River. A side note, I met a gentleman in Batavia recently and express my concern with this location. This gentleman explained to me that he purchased a brand new Harley-Davidson Heritage from this location & had service worked into the deal. Didn't think anything of it he didn't look to see if his fluids were up to par, 3 days after purchasing a motorcycle he broke down in Sycamore. After further investigation it was seen that there was no oil in his Reservoir. He went through a two-year battle with Fox River to get the issue resolved, and he still lost money. My friends, please stay away from all service at this location as they make many shortcuts and workmanship is at a low ethic. THE OTHER SERVICE DEPT REVIEWS ARE TRUE - BAD. Literally just hung up the phone with Fox River. Called to have an oil change done and some leaky front fork seals fixed. I even mentioned that although my Buell XB9 does not have 10k miles on it yet, I should prob have that done. I don't know for sure, but that sounds like $500+ in work for them, maybe more? I talked with Andrew, who basically told me that while I could drop off the bike, they couldn't do anything with it for at least 6 weeks. 6 weeks? I can have my car rebuilt in a few days and they need 6 weeks? I figure either they don't care if they get my business or they have a problem with Buell bikes (I have heard of that before). I was floored and waiting for him to help me figure out how to give them my money somehow and figure out a way to work on my bike, maybe a referral? Anything! I asked him point blank why it seemed like they didn't want my business. Instead of working with me to find a solution, he basically just said "nothing he could do since they are busy" and dead air on the phone... yikes. When I do my job, my motto is always to try and say "Sure, no problem!" to anyone who needs something from me. Either Andrew doesn't agree with this philosophy or Fox River Harley doesn't, or they don't like Buells, or they have too much money and don't want customers any more.
