Bought 2 cars recently and have nothing but good to say of both transactions. Great dealership.

Stay far away from this place. Don't waste your time and money. Service department is very disorganized and extremely slow.

Let's be honest - we all love/hate buying cars. You want a sweet ride, but can't help but feel how…read morefake the salesmen are, or wonder if you're getting scammed out of an extra thousand bucks. Todd Wenzel was surprisingly painless on the negotiation end. Granted, I purchased my car from them 4 years ago, so some things may have changed. I am originally from the Detroit area, but wanted a Vibe. The 2009 model year was coming in and I, hating the redesign, wanted a 2008. I found one online across the state. I spoke with Jeremiah Jones, who was e-Commerce director at the time (it appears he's not on staff anymore). He said if I could hitch a ride to anywhere around Grand Rapids, he could get me into the car I wanted. We negotiated on the phone and settled for several thousand less than sticker (I'm sure the reason was: there were only 2 on the lot and they wanted to get rid of them for the new models). Still I was happy. My only issue, which was my hesitance of doing this all over the phone, was I got slammed by the rate on my loan. I told Jeremiah I could get one from a local credit union, but he assured me a rate of 3.9% (might have been 4.9%, my memory is hazy). I trecked across the state on a one-way trip, and they must have known they had me, for when I sat down with the financial guy, I was slammed with a 7.9% rate. Perfect credit. Jeremiah was nowhere to be found. I was stuck. It was a bummer, but I still felt like I was getting a good enough deal on the car that I'd swallow the rate (but, really, what choice did I have?) So if I lived in the area, and wanted a Chevy or Buick, I might go back. I'm only giving them 3 stars, but the other dealerships I met with would be much worse - so take what you can get! Just don't find yourself making a one-way trip to get a car from them before everything is in writing in advance.

Failed to honor terms of sale; refused to rectify…read more I purchased a vehicle from Todd Wenzel in Grand Rapids with written sale terms specifying that it came with a GM Certified 12-month Warranty that, post-sale, the dealership failed and then refused to register. After the sale, the sales manager retracted his commitment and said that the warranty was not included. When I presented him with written evidence of the terms, he said that he would contact GM to get the warranty added. It took me contacting him many times over 9 weeks until he finally registered the warranty. However, he backdated it so that I only had 8 months of coverage - 4 months less than what I was entitled to per my sale terms. When I raised this issue with him, he said that the dealership "would have covered any issues that I had during that time", which is a meaningless promise given that it concerns the past. I had even informed him that my vehicle did, in fact, have issues that I needed addressed during that time but held off because of their failure to register the warranty. I sent an email to the dealership's GM, who initially seemed concerned and helpful as he replied very quickly and put me in touch with his regional director, who then contacted me a few days later stating that he wanted to work on a resolution with me. However, despite me replying to his email, calling him and leaving voicemail, both he and the GM ghosted me. Based on their failure to honor written sale terms and the lack of post-sale support, I strongly advise looking elsewhere if you expect a dealership to fulfill its sales agreements.
