    Transfer case oil
    Jason F.

I urge you not to buy a car from Fox Nissan. I bought a certified pre owned car from them in May of 2019. They provided me with a checklist certifying that all parts of the car were in working order, and the car only had 20,000 miles on it. It's been less than a year since I've had the car and it has several issues. I've since discovered the windshield is not original, their is a rattle noise coming from under the dashboard. The passenger side door has been clear coated. I highly suspect this car was in an accident and not disclosed to me. As of March 10, 2020, the CVT had a catastrophic failure and required replacement. March 17, 2020, brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced (see photo below). Within a week of that being done, I noticed oil leaks in my driveway and took it back in the shop only to find out that the front transfer case needed to be totally replaced. Now does this sound right for a CERTIFIED PRE OWNED car from a "reputable dealership " with only 20,000 miles on it ? Yes l, I have been driving this car a lot, but these failures don't justify the issues. This is my FOURTH Nissan Pathfinder and sadly lasI'd expect that maybe from a used fixer upper bought as is. I have contacted BBB and am asserting they sold me a lemon. I'm providing them with all my documentation of repairs done and timeline , as well as the certified pre owned paperwork Fox Nissan gave me when I bought it. Don't do business...stay away. DISClAIMER - all repairs are being done by another Nissan dealership.

Had to pickup car like this, might have parts in by Tues Then they will call me so I can schedule another appt.

I explained I booked a noon appointment and indicated I would be waiting so I didn't have time to wait an extra hour sitting here. Very frustrating to drive to an appointment that they had no intention of keeping. Two things need to change: 1.) don't allow noon appointments if techs take lunch at noon. 2.) review your scheduled appointments every night and morning and call your customers to reschedule if your not able to keep your appointments. I'm a new customer and tried to keep an open mind and come back and do the service at 1pm. But there was no apologies, discount offered or anything to acknowledge this error. Just $145 for an oil change charged. The waiting room was nice and clean. Update to owners response: There was no attempt to reach out before hand. You should audit your records closer if the team told you that. I have no missed calls emails or texts asking to reschedule before I arrived. The only text I had was a confirmation for the noon time. Don't be defensive just take feedback as a gift for improvement.

We make a Costco run, and then my battery light goes on. I call my mechanic in Chicago who tells me to get to a service station immediately. I call two places without any availability, and when I call Dykstra they said they would do their best to help. And did they ever! They got my car in right away and diagnosed the problem (my alternator). Their waiting room was peaceful, clean and quiet. We were even able to store the Costco perishables in their refrigerator! What could have been a horrific start to my birthday weekend (aka, dead car on the expressway in 90 degree heat) ended beautifully. I am so thankful for this experience!

They got the car "fixed" quickly which was great. However they claimed it was something loose with my parking break. I barely drove it down the road and noticed nothing was different. So I took it somewhere else and got it sorted. When they called they mentioned that the problem could be something else but that it wasn't. I took their advice. They didn't even bother to drive it around to check their work. So disappointed.

I want to say they told me they'd look at the car Tuesday, but didn't look at it until the end of Wednesday. It's possible I'm confused on that point, since I called some other mechanics first. Once they got the car in, they did the work right away. The woman working the customer side of things was knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. Working with her made everything easy to manage. Complaints: - They for some reason "had to use a Denso" starter, which added a large amount to the final cost, and of course was marked up after that. Not sure why they needed to use a Denso, or why a remanufactured part cost more than twice the new parts at rockauto. - Bigger complaint: Looks like they used a remanufactured part, and no one asked or mentioned. So not only did I pay too much for a starter, but I thought I'd at least be getting a new one. - They replaced the air filter without asking and without naming it in the quote I was given over the phone. So another 20 bucks for something I could have ordered off Amazon and put in myself in 30 second. At least the filter was only about 4 bucks more through them than Amazon is charging during COVID, but it's about twice what I paid last time. It's really the principle of the thing. It's possible this stuff was just communication issues. I don't know why they "had to use a Denso", for instance, but also didn't ask about it. Because I had dropped the car off to get checked out, it's possible the air filter was something that should have been mentioned, but due to the nature of phone calls, it just slipped through the cracks as the woman was looking at the quote, and when I gave the go-ahead, the mechanics just did what I supposedly approved over the phone. So look, I have some concerns and some questions, but overall I'm guessing the work was done well. Using a remanufactured Denso means they probably made sure to use the "right" part even if it wasn't the cheapest. And the price (make sure you go on their website and print coupons first, and mention them before you make payment) and service are leaps and bounds better than what the local Toyota dealer offers. Besides, if they do a better job than most mechanics, it's worth paying a bit more to make sure it's done right. I'll probably come back here for the next thing that comes up, and hopefully next time there won't be any surprises or questions.

For my SUV they didn't tighten the caliper which FELL APART ON THE FREEWAY with my wife and newborn baby in the vehicle at the time. It really screwed up the vehicle and still doesn't drive normal after a thousand dollars of repairs. Over the past... 6 months? I have been taking my other car back and forth here to fix the steering. 5 times! They said they replaced the power steering each time and it was unbelievable. They recently admitted they only replaced it twice. Shame on me for thinking they just made an honest mistake the first time. Let this be a lesson to all about the kind of work results here. Jeremy and Sarah were not good help at all, they apparently run the place. Whenever I come in I never see anyone working. The shop (different company) that fixed the car said Monro forgot to put a bolt on, forgot a clamp, and a hose wasn't connected. Plus a lot of other stuff detached and "there is no way the car would have been able to travel 500 miles with all the stuff detached, even two engine Mount bolts were removed and upon close inspection they were recently removed" I would not recommend anyone come here for anything that requires a bolt being removed. And based on that poor attention to detail probably wouldn't want them touching anything.
