Had a bloody Mary one morning with breakfast and it was prepared really well. Despite it being really hot the weekend we were there, the AC kept the room very cool and comfortable. The bathtub in our room was in terrible condition. The porcelain had been poorly repaired, leaving uneven cracks and raised patches on both the floor and sides of the tub. There was rust and other debris splattered beneath the faucet, damage to the surrounding walls, and mold in the corners. The bathroom door and walls also showed obvious signs of significant water damage. The room also had a noticeable musty odor, adding to the impression that the property has not been properly maintained. Unfortunately, the problems didn't end there. The guest laundry was out of service, which was a major inconvenience since we were in town for a baseball tournament and needed access to laundry facilities. In addition, the hotel's ice machine was broken during our stay, creating yet another unnecessary inconvenience. Like many hotels in the area, this property is significantly overpriced for what it offers. For the same price or even less, you can find hotels in New York City that are cleaner, better maintained, and provide a much higher-quality experience. Based on our stay, I would have a difficult time recommending this property until significant improvements are made.

The toilet in the laundry room flushes very slowly. The full size bed in the secondary bedroom was the most comfortable but still not a great mattress. When we got here all of the cabins had spiderwebs and cobwebs. I would have expected the decks to be swept or hosed down but the chairs, tables and grills were all dirty. (don't forget charcoal!) The staff is friendly and the French fries and onion rings in the restaurant were pretty good. The rest of the food mediocre but we were grateful it was there as I didn't want to use any of the kitchen supplies after seeing the bugs and cobwebs. I think I just expected too much. Had I know that it was VERY rustic, dated and brought my own cooked food and cleaning supplies I may give the third star. Maybe I'm just too bugie. ‍

The restrooms and laundry facilities are clean and in good working order; the washer & dryers look new. Theres an exercise room, a game room, a fishing hole, and a really nice playground for kids. Everything felt clean, well-kept, and welcoming. One of my favorite features was the food truck, which was open most of the day and conveniently located in front of the activities center. It made grabbing a meal or snack easy without having to leave the resort. Unfortunately, a storm rolled in during our stay, which caused some of the outdoor activities to pause. While the weather was out of everyone's control, I would have loved to see a few more complimentary indoor activities offered in the activity center during the downtime. Overall, we had a great trip, made wonderful memories with friends and family, and would absolutely visit again. We're looking forward to coming back!

My mom asked her if she could change the news channel, she was hesitant but finally changed it. She was displeased with my mother and told her that was why we had our own TVS to use in our hotel room. My mom Was shocked and asked her again politely, as this seemed like a simple hotel Guest request, and no one else was even paying attention. Her attitude was surprisingly nasty. She told my mother never she had never had anybody complain about the news station in the public area. Reluctantly, she changed the channel. After me and my mom finished eating, we then checked out and my mom was still kind to this woman and thanked her for the hotel stay. It seemed inappropriate and unprofessional as we had traveled half way across the country for a family funeral. Fortunately, my mom ignored her behavior. The lady kept coming by every few minutes to see if we were still sitting there, probably to change the channel back/ which was creepy because the front desk is far away and there's no way she could could even see or hear the tv from there. Also no one else around really seemed to care. The whole situation was weird. We didn't say anything, we just checked out and left. The other hotel staff was really nice and helpful! We enjoyed our stay except for this one lady who seemed to have a bad attitude in general. Hopefully Holiday Inn doesn't promote this aggressive behavior to its other customers, but my mom and I looked at some other reviews and we did wonder.
