This is such a unique and relaxing experience. Starting with the staff. Everyone we came in contact with was friendly and helpful. They answered all of our questions with a smile. The property is gorgeous and the sunsets are phenomenal. If you are looking to get out of the city for a while and would like a place to relax this is it. Our hotel room was comfortable and clean. The amenities are varied and fun. We took a hike which was great. The trails are well kept. We can't wait to visit again soon. I want to rate the Wildcatter about a 3.7 out of 5. Our first visit was over New Year's weekend in 2022. That Saturday the temperature dropped about 40 degrees and the wind starting howling fiercely. Because of the weather we didn't get to participate in any outdoor activities, so I vowed we would make a return visit. Thanksgiving week of 2025, we got to bring our daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons for a return visit to Wildcatter. I knew the ranch had been bought by a young couple about a year previously who wanted to upgrade some of the tired aspects of the ranch, so we were excited to explore all the offerings and see what had changed. The Wildcatter Ranch is set on a hill with beautiful views. There is plenty to explore so it is perfect for boys who revel in the outdoors. There is a fishing hole, there are horses in the stable to ride, there is basketball, tetherball, hiking, a pool and hot tub, and there are longhorns to feed each morning. These are all great activities we partook in. They supply guests with fishing poles, basketballs and towels for the pool. My disappointment? On both trips to the ranch, in all 3 cabins, the fireplaces did not seem to be working. (this is 3 cabins of about 12!) The hot tub that they told us we could use? Not working. The 'pony' ride for my grandson who is under 10, the age required for horse rides, that was advertised for 30 minutes? It was a 15 minute guided walk around a field on a horse. The 'hour' trail ride lasted 50 minutes. The session to 'learn grooming and care for a horse'? All three of us were literally handed brushes, told how to walk around the back of a horse, then left standing next to one horse to brush. The optional activities were a bit short on what was advertised, though both boys said their time with the horses was their favorite part of the visit. The steakhouse prices had gone up quite a bit since 2022. We can highly recommend the biscuits, however. They are heavenly. read more

We were coming for our honeymoon, this was our first stop. We had planned our entire trip day by day, every state and activity accounted for. It's safe to say our trip was planned around visiting the ranch. All socials advertised 1.5 hours from the Fort Worth airport, multiple posts and even going as far to put this on there Instagram bio page (I'd like to add this has since been changed, they did not own up to there mistake yet changed it for others. Noted) we are from the UK and coming to America for the first time so everything is new, including driving on the other side of the road. When we arrived it was estimated at a 3 hour drive, I'd accounted enough time for 1.5-2 hours at most, we aren't familiar with the traffic nor were we warned. It was advertised as 1.5 hours not miles, hours. Not to mention this was the first time I'd be driving on the "right" side of the road after a long flight. I'd paid $500 for us both to do a sunset ride, based on the advertising we had plenty of time so I booked this well in advance. 1.5 hours on the road I could handle, certainly not 3. What they fail to tell you is it's non refundable and cannot be moved due to ANY reason. I tried to arrange with them to swap our sunset rides for the sunrise rides the following morning (hundreds of $ less btw) they said we had to join the waiting list and it wouldn't be guaranteed. We also would have to pay this on top of what we had already paid, we were not able to exchange. For a total of 12 hours (one nights stay) I'm not driving 6 hours in total for a 8 hour nights rest to pack up and leave. Unfortunately we had to make the tough decision to scrap the night completely and pay $300 for a night extra at our hotel in Fort Worth, which was planned for the few days after before moving onto New Orleans. I would never have booked it in the first place if I'd known the true travel time. They sold a complete lie and for us, newly weds with every minute of the trip planned our time was worth more on our once in a lifetime trip. They let us down big time, customer service was a complete brick wall. Over and over again told no refunds, nothing was done to help of reassure us. I completely understand not refunding the room on a days notice, but rides? Plenty of time was given in advance to not wrangle the horses. Not to mention our slots on those $500 rides were most likely filled thanks to the waiting list. They just pocketed $800 from us. Karma is real and it will return. I do wish the area would be more informed about the true facts of the Native American history, and I wish they would think of other names for their activities that weren't culture appropriation. Let me start off by saying, Laura, Grace & Felicity, the 3 staff I interacted with were all amazing, very nice, professional and courteous. With that however, I have 2 main grievances with WildCatter. #1- you can't book activities for the same day as your arrival day. Meaning, if you only come for 1 night, your activities are VERY limited. There is no detail as to why not, they just don't allow it, doesn't make sense to me, but this was frustrating and I only found out AFTER I booked with them. #2- The ONE activity exception to the above was the Sunset Trail Ride, and somehow it was double booked, however these rides are apparently private (doesn't say that anywhere), and because of that I couldn't even enjoy 1 activity. Apparently the other group wasn't ok sharing the ride, so we got booted... The team tried to make these issues work, but I just don't think they're empowered to fix issues. They told me I can do the activities the next day, but would have no late check out, so I'd have to sort of just hang around waiting without a room for next activity. Then when they oversold the sunset ride, they offered to send me a charcuterie board which I guess was nice of them, but that's it. They said I could ride the next morning, but for the full price, no discount or compensation; obviously I said no because the morning rides vs sunset rides were day / night (literally). I think they seriously dropped the ball in overbooking my trail ride, and then not even compensating for the error at all (just a charcuterie board). For me, I don't know that I'd come back, I just don't feel like they tried, everything was a mission and a rule. No dinner after 8:30, No Activities on first day, no exception to late checkout, activities are very limited to the specific times. It just wasn't convenient. I would say likely booking 2+ nights would make the difference but I was just looking for a quick getaway. Place is beautiful,rooms are nice and spacious, views are nice too. Didn't get to see any horses, and there was only like 5 long horns super far away. Steakhouse food was good and quick. That's about it. Again, staff was super nice, but seems like management doesn't take into account convenience. Everything the staff did was always checking with owners if they can do this or do that, almost as if they were scared to make decisions. I likely won't be coming back, I'll look at another Ranch in the future. read more

This review is specific to the steakhouse. First the good: The jalapeño poppers, biscuits and salads were pretty good. The sides that came with the meals, such as green beans, carrots, and spud were alright. We sat on the patio which was beautiful. And the staff was friendly. The bad: We ordered 3 expensive NY strip steaks and every one of them were poorly seasoned, chewy, and gristly. It seemed like low quality meat and, for our dinner, it was supposed to be the star of the show. Very disappointing, especially for the price. We also ordered Halibut which was just ok but a bit dry, again, for the price, not worth it. We won't be coming back. My wife and I spent a weekend at the resort. We stayed in the main hotel building on the second floor. The rooms have inside doors overlooking a huge common area that reminded me of a saloon minus the bar and tables, which probably makes no sense. There's a large gas fireplace with a big screen TV playing westerns. The room itself was fine, but I thought overpriced. It was large but felt indifferent. The windows lacked curtains, and the walls were thin, allowing conversations to carry from next door. For activities, we did the branding, jeep tour, and fed the longhorn cattle. The branding involved making coasters with the WR logo. It was fun but over in like 5 minutes. The jeep tour showed us parts of the ranch off the main roads. It was very dusty, but we enjoyed the stories and the conversation with our driver. The longhorn were the most fun. We fed them some cow treats/food shaped like cigars. They loved being hand fed, and we needed to pay attention to avoid the horns for that element of danger. The folks working here were great and worked several jobs on the ranch. The wrangler working the branding activity ended up being our waiter for dinner. The jeep driver also fed the longhorn. The highlight of our visit for me was the fantastic views from the restaurant patio. We spent quite a bit of time there enjoying the scenery. read more

This is a actual dude ranch. My visit here was for a wedding but this ranch offers lodging and all that a dude ranch will have for the stay. The restaurant has a small lounge area and out door dining. We had the private room for our small gathering. This dude ranch is known for their steaks so guess what I'm having? The 22oz bone in rib eye! Cooked perfectly, needed a little more salt and pepper, would have beef great with some sautéed mushrooms and onions but not offered here. This was the biggest 22oz I've ever gotten It was bigger than the so called 50oz tomahawk rib eyes I've had in other famous steak houses. Accompanied by grilled asparagus. The fake looking ,warm biscuits they brought to the tables was fantastic and I don't eat biscuits, but I find them too dry. But these were exceptional. read more

CONS: When it's dark out the room has very little light, even when you turn all lights/lamps on. There was a giant slit in the main door leading to the back patio, an area where anyone can walk through, and surrounding cabin-mates said they had the same thing. Grabbed the extra pillow and blanket above the ironing board in the closet area and DOG HAIR coated my entire bed. A clump even fell out. No pictures for any other food, however what I remember: the peach cobbler's dough was not cooked, entirely raw when it came to the table, the steak was under-cooked for what everyone in my group of 9 ordered, the chicken breasts on a bun were overcooked/charred and they only serve sweet tea around dinner. PROS: The horseback riding was a great time, hosted by knowledgeable and courteous gentleman. All the staff I encountered at the steakhouse were super friendly, always trying to help. Their biscuits at dinner are absolutely delicious, the steak was seasoned perfectly, just not cooked to how it was ordered. The staff hosted fun activities for our group, all focusing on having fun and learning some cool things. Wildcatter Ranch Resort is a working ranch in Graham, TX that's right outside the DFW Metroplex. It's a place where city slickers (like me) can go to escape the hustles and bustle of the city. There are plenty of things to do and different areas you can stay. This review focuses on my entire experience. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - My visit took place in January. The pool was closed but there were no bugs or mean, Texas heat. Instead, I was transported to an amazingly peaceful, serine, and 100% Texas ranch. The Brazos river snakes its way through the land where on a clear day you can see for miles. Also - there was no wind on our visit so you could also here voices from hundreds of feet away. 1 Star. Service - Everyone is extremely friendly. From the real cowboys (who will let you pose for photos) to the wait staff; everyone greeted our family with a smile and were happy to help. Service in the restaurant is SUPER SLOW. I'll give them a pass because they're so friendly but impatient visitors beware. 1 Star. Experience - I'll start with the accommodations. We stayed in cabin #10. It's a very large room. There were two queen beds and a full fireplace. Best of all, the back porch had an amazing view of the ranch with perfect views of the sunset. There are a number of things you can do from horseback riding, archery, and a jeep ride. My kids rode the horses and said it was the "best ride ever". Me? I enjoyed the jeep ride, where a member of the Wildcatter Ranch staff will take you off-roading throughout the ranch. The photos of Wildcatter don't do it justice. It's just so beautiful and your driver doubles as a tour guide and Instagram photographer. Other reviews cover the restaurant so read those for information. If you stay here the restaurant converts to a breakfast buffet in the morning. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I think January may be the best month to visit. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Facility - I'll award up to two stars for the facility, since this is the main reason we go out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the facility. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. This hotel was listed as 4 star hotel which is why I decided to visit for 3 day trip with my family. All the cabins were booked and I could only reserve hotel room. But when I went in, it's really is 2-3 star hotel. There's no safe box, no closet (open rack to hang clothes), old metal key entry (key has your room number on it, so if you drop it or lose it, you're kind of screwed), bathroom wasn't perfect, and coffee maker was very disgusting. Their activities are overpriced but we really enjoyed private horseback riding. Kids really enjoyed the ride and all their horses are beautiful. It was sad and hurtful to see that their horses are overworked and extremely tired with fully booked schedules. The food at the restaurant was very good but their service was extremely slow. They also wouldn't help us alter the menu. We asked them if we can pay extra to add chicken to kid's quesadilla but they said we can't do that. They had no soup on the menu and menu was a bit limited selection. With their super slow service, expect to spend 1.5 hour for lunch and 2 hours for dinner. Their WiFi at the room is pretty solid but cellphone connection is very spotty at the ranch. It's a bit scary to go on a hike without cell service. read more

On our road trip from Austin to Oklahoma City, we were looking for a Taxan ranch stay experience and we were glad that we found this hotel. We stayed at a Queen/Twin Cabin suite. The view from back porch of our cabin was breath taking. What make the ranch stand out compared to other hotels are the activities it offers. After reserved for the room, we received the daily activity schedule in the email. We arrived quite late at night, but the manager was able to accommodate our last minute request for the activity the next day. Long horn feeding is at 9 am and free with stay. We signed up for clay shooting which accepted the youngest age of 10. The cowboys were very friendly and helpful. My son didn't have experience with gun before and our guide was very patient to teach him how to use the gun and how to aim. The stay at the ranch was definitely the most memorable of our Texas road trip. read more

I visited the Wildcatter twice during the Christmas / New Year holiday. It's a great spot on top of a hill right outside Graham, TX. I had heard good things about the newly named Wildcatter Steakhouse. They recently announced a new chef and I was excited to give it a try with my father in law. It is one of his favorite local restaurants. We arrived for an early table around 5:30pm. Sat at the bar first to just relax and our bartender, Remington was very cool. She was chatty, friendly and quick with refills where necessary. When we went to our table it was already dark outside but the dining room has some great views from the eastern ridge of the hill. I imagine in the summer the patio right outside would be beautiful. Our server was Kim. She was very nice and checked on us often. We ordered an appetizer which was the Catter Platter. A nice mix of appetizers which was bacon wrapped jalapeño, Texas toothpicks, bacon wrapped quail and fried picked. For our mains I ordered a 14oz ribeye with a loaded baked potato and a wild mustang salad. The salad was excellent. It came with a balsamic dressing and was loaded with feta and cranberries. It was delicious. The steak was exactly to order, nice medium rare and the potato was tender but not dry. I ate every bite. If it wasn't a classy spot I'd have licked the plate! My father in law had the filet with the loaded potato and a Caesar salad. He was equally impressed and suggested next time we come back with my wife as well. They had a nice selection of beer and liquor. To wash it down with. I stuck with the Rahr brewery Ugly Pug. A nice dark lager. Dessert would have been a step too far. Maybe next time I'll give it a shot but I was totally stuffed. They were also hosting a New Year Eve event with live music so I'm reviewing that as well. This is a two visit kind of deal. $50 two bands, champagne toast and unlimited appetizers. Great deal. I already reviewed the bar and food so I will spare the repeat. Just as good the second time around only this time the bartender was Brooklyn and she was also very good. The bands started with Raised Right Men. They played for about three hours and then it switched to Ross Shiflett to play it out to New Year. Both bands were excellent, Drew a good crowd and a great time was had by all. Huge fan of the Wildcatter Ranch Resort! Great for a quick weekend getaway if you live in the Dallas or Ft. Worth area, or anywhere really. There were visitors from Scotland and Germany while my husband and I were there for Labor Day weekend, so it looks like international travelers choose this unique destination as well! The rooms had a very country western style of decor and were quite comfortable. We stayed in the cheapest room possible but it was equipped with a coffee maker and a mini-fridge. The beds and sheets were so comfortable and we slept so well! We partook in the skeet shooting and archery. We felt that these were reasonably priced compared to some of the other activities offered. The equestrian activities were a bit too expensive for us at about $90 per person per activity. If we were to go again, we would definitely do the skeet shooting as well as possibly a Jeep tour of the full property because the landscape was just beautiful. The skeet shooting was very beginner-friendly and the instructor, dressed as a cowboy, definitely eased my nerves and gave me some good tips. Our absolute favorite activity was the longhorn feeding every morning at 9am. Those animals are so friendly and love their treats! It is amazing to see how happy they get from the attention and snacks. This activity is free but it was my all-time favorite. There are some things which you can do to really get the most value out of your stay at Wildcatter Ranch. The first is to not eat their breakfast. It doesn't have much besides some yogurts, fruits, instant oatmeal, and scrambled eggs and some greasy meet. I would highly recommend just buying a pack of bananas and some instant oatmeal yourself and preparing it in the room. If I can recall, the breakfast "buffet" costs about $12 per person, and that is totally not worth it. I would also not recommend going to their steak restaurant. Though the bread was good, the food was meh. The seating was lovely with the views of the resort landscape and the service was great, but I was truly underwhelmed by my overcooked ribeye. read more

Resort Review (Steakhouse below): Quality and level of service you would expect from a resort with a homey Texan feel. The resort was at capacity yet it felt like I was one of a few people there, which was great. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. You walk in and they know your name and are always willing to help. The activities were very well planned out and so much fun! They had a good variety of activities and multiple time options to choose from to best fit your schedule. It is obvious that all at Wildcatter care about what they do and their guests and it shows in every way during your stay. The views and property are amazing as well and I recommend exploring while you are there. I will definitely be returning and cannot say enough good things. Steakhouse Review: Outstanding service, excellent food and views you won't want to miss. I ate here multiple times during my stay at Wildcatter Resort and outside of the amazing food, what also stood out to me was the staff at the steakhouse. Each time I walked in I received a friendly greeting and they made sure I was taken care of. During meals they were super attentive, I never had to ask for anything because they anticipated my needs and were always readily available, the food was timed perfectly so it was a seamless transition between course and the views from the restaurant were beautiful! We had an absolutely amazing time! The friendliness of Stephanie at check in was beyond compare. She was so helpful and we were even able to checkin early. She helped with planning our activities and dinner reservations. Next we went to do the clay shooting activity. Jacob was awesome! He was patient and assisted when I needed help loading my rifle. He was a joy to spend the afternoon with and answered all our questions about the ranch and it's history. We went to the bar and had drinks while waiting for dinner. The bartender was friendly and attentive. We were seated for dinner and Olivia was fantastic. She was great at offering suggestions and spot on with her recommendations. Everything we ate was delicious! The rosemary biscuits, our crab wantons were OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! The chicken fried steak, baked potato and salad was perfect. My husbands ribs, asparagus, creamed corn and summer salad were all perfect as well! Our stay was cut short, so we weren't able to go horseback riding as originally planned. I cannot believe this place doesn't have a perfect 5 star rating. Our experience was perfect from the time we arrived to the moment we checked out. We arrived on Wednesday evening for a retreat for families of children with Down syndrome that started Thursday morning. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The cabins are great and the view from the back porch was incredible. On our retreat we had family activities of archery, clay shooting, tomahawk throw and of course horse back riding for the kiddos and feeding the longhorns. The staff running our activities were again top notch, patient and kind. Every meal from the biscuits and gravy at breakfast to the salads and steaks at dinner was delicious. Our absolute favorite employee was SHAWN...... Shawn just went above and beyond. She was so gracious with our kiddos and their special needs, she was happy to get us whatever we needed, she always had a huge smile on her face and it was genuine. What a wonderful weekend!!! Wildcatter Ranch is a resort ranch just short drive from the Dallas / Fort Worth metroplex.  You can choose a hotel room or cabin.  We chose a cabin, I made the reservations, and we hit the road! Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed about the ranch is the WR brand.  It appears on the entry, the restaurant plates, the fireplace mantle, and several places in between. Feeding the longhorn cattle, horseshoes, sand volleyball, a small basketball court, disc golf, a swimming pool, and a hot tub are included in your stay.  Hiking trails were also advertised but when we inquired, we were told that after a recent drought, they hadn't been maintained.  We set off on a hike anyway, but the trail wasn't marked clearly and we ended up wandering through the woods.  Thankfully, it wasn't rattlesnake weather yet, so we were ok with our nature adventure!  Other activities that may be booked for an additional fee include horseback riding, clay sport shooting, archery, jeep tours, and massages.  (Be aware that the additional activities add a 20% gratuity.) Our check in was in the hotel lobby and it was beautiful.  The rustic western furniture and decor was a compliment to the warm wood tones.  A breakfast buffet is served in the lobby (8-9:30 a.m.) if you're interested.  Bacon, eggs, biscuits, gravy, instant oatmeal, dry cereal, muffins, yogurt, fruit, and granola were on the menu the day we were there.  The breakfast buffet was $12 each but it's convenient and you don't have to go in to town for breakfast unless you just want to.  You can eat breakfast then get in line to give the longhorn cattle their first meal of the day at the longhorn feeding! The Dinner Bell Restaurant is located across the parking lot from the hotel and is open only for dinner, starting at 5 p.m.  There are two dining areas, a traditional dining room and a long rectangular dining room with a pretty view.  I'm sure this room is popular in the summer for sunsets.  If you get hungry in between breakfast and dinner, you'll need to go to Graham, a short distance away, or buy snacks at the gift shop at the hotel or bring your own.  We went into Graham on Friday night and ate at the Dinner Bell on Saturday night.  I was impressed with the delicious meal we had.  My husband ordered a mesquite grilled steak and I chose grilled Halibut with fresh avocado and pesto sauce. The cabins aren't stand alone, there are 4 cabins per building.  The rustic western furniture and decor from the hotel overflowed to the cabins as well.  Our cabin was the Graham Family cabin, aptly named for the family who established Graham, TX, just minutes from the ranch.  While advertised as a cabin, it wasn't lacking in amenities.  It had a television, gas lit fireplace, microwave, small refrigerator, and coffee maker.  There were even two robes (with the WR brand or course!).  There is a small back porch area but the partial walls don't give much privacy from the other cabin porches. I would be remiss if I didn't give special attention to Josh, the Dinner Bell bartender and manager, and Matt, our ranch hand.  We could quickly see that Josh had never met a stranger and we enjoyed meeting and talking with him.  Matt was a patient teacher at archery and the clay sport shooting.  There were several of us who hadn't done these activities before and he walked us through the safety guidelines and set us up for success. Wildcatter Ranch is fun for a couples weekend or a family adventure weekend with the children.  They are a wedding venue also if you're in the market to book a wedding! This is strictly a review for the restaurant. The food was very good and the price point wasn't terrible for the location and quality. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the unorganized staff. We had a reservation (not sure why reservations are recommended since the place was more than half empty.) We were initially seated in a COMPLETELY empty dining room then moved to a enclosed patio area. Our server was new but friendly, you would think with it being her first day they would have someone training with her. She wasn't familiar with the menu or offerings, since it was her first day but thats understandable. The rest of the staff was just there, not very welcoming. Steaks were excellent but the sides were so so. Overall I'd try it again but it didn't blow me away on first impressions. read more

I don't know where to start. The steakhouse (restaurant) has taken a turn for the worst. With a lunch menu with 3-5 choices, surely something would be good, right? Wrong. A wait of about 1.5 hours was necessary before we received our BBQ or grilled cheeses, which were served on paper boats you'd get your frito pie served in at a little league baseball game. Now, presentation isn't everything, and I surely thought my sliced brisket would makeup for the former annoyances, but I was wrong...again. I needed two bbq sauce cups to cover up the dryness, or I probably would have choked and died right then and there. Oh, we can't forget about the baked beans that were most definitely undercooked and cold. The given excuse by the new manager/owner was that they had a wedding party the night before (that "cleaned them out" of food) and they didn't prepare for 37 people (our party was much less than that) to show up for lunch. THIRTY SEVEN. Either we were eating old bbq from the fridge or they had to run to Clayton's or Brothers to restock, but with how below average the food was I don't want to put a bad look on either of those fine restaurants. That all being said, you're probably finally digesting all this, but I want to make a positive point. Kayci, our server, was terrific and made a great bloody marry (and other drinks as I was told). We were able to check in on time and room was clean. Bed was nice. The carpet could use a good shampooing as it is worn. The resort is dated, but seriously just needs a little TLC. From check in, to dinner, everyone I interacted with was pleasant and helpful. We took the jeep ranch tour and it was great, spectacular views. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Dinner at steakhouse was spectacular! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed and taken very good care of. The barmaid was super busy, but attentive, and made a fabulous Christmas martini. The restaurant manager kept checking on us through dinner and offered dinner suggestions. Steak was excellent! Asparagus was excellent and we tried the bacon wrapped quail and that to, just perfect. The view from the pool was beautiful, but the pool are needs some love. There are so many updates that could be done easily and well worth it. read more

Wow, what a surprise my sister gave me. She picked my wife and myself and said we were going on a "road trip" so sit back and relax. After a couple of hours we arrived at Wildcatter Ranch! Oh my gosh, what an incredible place. We were there for lunch on a Sunday. The menu was abbreviated with limited choices. Each of us got something different. We ordered the "smoked poppers" for an appetizer. They were very tasty with a heavy smoked flavor! There were 8 on the plate which was perfect for the 4 of us. I ordered the chicken fried sirloin. It was absolutely "fork-tender", I didn't have to use a knife at all. The gravy was flavored perfectly. The restaurant's "home-cut" French fries was prepared and seasoned perfectly! We ended the meal with dessert. I had the creme brulee and it was delicious and very creamy! The view from the restaurant was incredible! It looks out on the Texas vistas. Our visit was indeed very special and I can't wait to return again in the future. read more

Loved the cabin room with the sunset view. The bed was hard so we definitely couldn't stay any longer than two days. Love the live music entertainment. When we arrived the first night we went to the bar, ordered wine and the jalapeno poppers which were limp and barely warm- almost like they were yesterday's left overs. We hoped dinner would prove to be better and it was. We had the salmon and the steak which both were cooked to perfection. The asparagus were fabulous and the roasted vegetables devine! We would have like to see more Texas wines on the menu as there are many very good ones out there. They offer skeet shooting, Longhorn feeding and Jeep tours, and there is a pool for when the weather warms up. A nice getaway, just hours west of Dallas. read more

Amazing architecture and breath taking views are abundant at the Wildcatter restaurant. I have been there many times, and have yet to be disappointed. The steaks (ribeyes are my most popular choice) are always tender and cooked exactly to my request (thank you Bob Bratcher!). Although I usually don't have room for dessert (some day I'll eat dessert first!), I have seen people served great looking dishes and have heard great reviews as well. A little pricey, but worth it (hey, it's a steakhouse!). Wait time has always been reasonable, and the staff is always very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Stayed at Wildcatter Ranch for a couple of nights and had a great visit. We had an opportunity to do skeet shooting and some archery while we were there, the staff was very friendly and made it a fun activity. The rooms were very well decorated, especially the cabin suites. Each one is decorated differently. Each morning you can go down to and feed the longhorns with one of the ranch hands. This is an experience if you have not done it before that is worth doing. Just ask at the front desk what time you need to meet in the lobby. The pool here is very nice. It is an infinity style pool and also has a hot tub. There is a beautiful view out to the west, a great spot to be for sunset even if you are not swimming. I really enjoyed my stay and plan on returning some time in the future. read more

This is a review for the wedding venue and the cabins. The venue is absolutely beautiful and the house is amazing. Make very sure that you know all costs up front prior to signing a contract to have a wedding there. You have to purchase food from the resort. It is extra to light the fire pits, heat the pools, to rent the golf cart to transport your guests. We rented the pavilion for the rehearsal dinner. The view was beautiful and the food was great. I found out later that they had served expired beer at the rehearsal dinner. When I reached out to the resort, they would in no way compensate us for the cost of beer. The sad thing is what each of those beers cost. If renting this venue, go in with your eyes wide open. Ask for all additional costs up front and be aware of food costs prior to signing anything. read more

With scenic views and an excellent array of activities this is a beautiful place to visit. The on-site restaurant is pretty solid and if you go there definitely have the bacon wrapped quail. The staff is polite and available 24/7. This seems to be a great venue for families and large scale events. read more
