The vibe was very chill with large & small families, friend groups, and couples chillin' and relaxing around the lake. Lots of good cooking, grilling, and feasting going on, with a ton of varieties of music playing. The swimming was excellent and easily accessible from the shoreline and beaches. Tons of boats, pontoons, and jet skis out, so everyone was enjoying themselves orderly and having a great time! Definitely a fav go-to spot for the future!

It has now been 3 weeks, and I still have not received anything. I have called multiple times and keep getting different answers -- that it's up to "corporate" or that a check has already been sent, yet nothing has arrived. One staff member (Meagan) was especially rude and dismissive when I tried to get an update, which made the situation even worse. Lisa was the only person who showed kindness and professionalism, but unfortunately she is no longer there. At this point, I am simply asking for the refund that was promised. I hope management takes this seriously and resolves it immediately.

They were very friendly from the beginning and had us in a spot and hooked up within 20 minutes of us arriving. The spots are drive through, large and spaced very well: there is plenty of room for large slide-outs. There were many class A's and they all had plenty of room. There is a working ranch right beside the RV park and it was nice seeing all the cattle, steer and horses grazing. The facilities here can't be beat, as far as I am concerned. They have a hot tub, pool, plenty of washers and dryers, a game room, workout room, trails and coffee at the front desk :). A problem at many of the RV campgrounds that we go to is that they have wi-fi available, but its not really that good. The wi-fi at this park was great from where we were camping. Cell phone service was as well. The only bad part about their wifi service was that it was only free for 1 day- which was fine for my husband and I, but I can imagine it getting pricy if you were staying for more than a few days. Overall, we had a great experience here, we highly recommend this RV park.

Park employees were friendly and very helpful. They explained the new covid rules to us and allowed us to enter without a reservation. But after witnessing how active the hiking paths were, I can see how they could reach capacity quickly. It wasn't overcrowded by anyone's standards, just more active than I have ever seen this park to be. Rented a kayak (with life jacket & vest) for two (2) hours = approx. $32. And they were pretty lenient on the time by rounding up in the hour. If you have any issue with the an old school over the neck/strap around the back/single buckle in front, orange life vest (hope that paints a clear enough picture), then bring your own. All of the equipment was well maintained and clean, including the bathroom facilities.

The only drawback is I had to rent a campsite for the day in order to get a fire blazing. Kind of sucked since I wasn't planning on spending the night. Oh well! It was all still worth it as I supported nature and TPWD. The hiking trails were challenging and invigorating. Thankfully they were also very clearly marked. They were a challenge with all the natural rock and rock cliffs. Penitentiary Hollow was the main attraction of the hike. Wow, Lake Mineral Wells rocks with awesomeness! Please camp here!
