Honestly the first time I booked this hotel I didn't have as much of a problem as I did this time…read more I came at 11:00am and asked if there were rooms available, the parking lot was empty as it always is so I didn't expect a no, the guy at the check in said yes and began asking me for details. I notified I had a reservation and if I could check in early seeing as to how I had an appointment at 1:30pm and wanted to freshen up. The guy then said oh no it's because we're cleaning the rooms even though he was just about to sell me one had I not mentioned I had a reservation.Cool not a problem came back at 5:45pm keep in mind when I got here at 11 am I saw the cleaning lady "cleaning" the rooms . I checked In and came into the room 103 and couldn't wait to shower and sleep UNFORTUNATELY that was not the case because now it's 6:11pm and I'm typing this out per the male receptionist request and I'm expecting my reply as you stated you would give me @receptionist. Anyways I got here and these are the CLEAN towels per the receptionist who threw them back to me on the counter stating they weren't dirty. And let me not forget the coffee maker that was also dirty and broken that I had to ask him to clean ,all for the actual coffee maker to be broken .this is by far the WORST experience I've had here and definitely will not be coming back, i rather drive further with A better stay than this And again Mr Receptionist , I would like to know what excuses you'll make for these being dirty after you stated they were clean? Part 2: So I went back for a third time to the desk to take the coffee maker back since it was broken. And mr receptionist apologized but I feel it was too late for that. I appreciate your apology but you should've been apologetic and had customer service the 2nd time I went to complain about the towels being dirty and not just throwing them on the counter and as I mentioned in the video there were bugs in my room (crickets) which surprise surprise guess who else is staying with me in room 103?? I have my convo with Mr receptionist recorded and am hoping to share with the manager

The property is gorgeous and the sunsets are phenomenal. If you are looking to get out of the city for a while and would like a place to relax this is it. Our hotel room was comfortable and clean. The amenities are varied and fun. We took a hike which was great. The trails are well kept. We can't wait to visit again soon. Added plus was the restaurant which had a great selection and the food is fantastic!

I want to rate the Wildcatter about a 3.7 out of 5…read more Our first visit was over New Year's weekend in 2022. That Saturday the temperature dropped about 40 degrees and the wind starting howling fiercely. Because of the weather we didn't get to participate in any outdoor activities, so I vowed we would make a return visit. Thanksgiving week of 2025, we got to bring our daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons for a return visit to Wildcatter. I knew the ranch had been bought by a young couple about a year previously who wanted to upgrade some of the tired aspects of the ranch, so we were excited to explore all the offerings and see what had changed. The Wildcatter Ranch is set on a hill with beautiful views. There is plenty to explore so it is perfect for boys who revel in the outdoors. There is a fishing hole, there are horses in the stable to ride, there is basketball, tetherball, hiking, a pool and hot tub, and there are longhorns to feed each morning. These are all great activities we partook in. They supply guests with fishing poles, basketballs and towels for the pool. My disappointment? On both trips to the ranch, in all 3 cabins, the fireplaces did not seem to be working. (this is 3 cabins of about 12!) The hot tub that they told us we could use? Not working. The 'pony' ride for my grandson who is under 10, the age required for horse rides, that was advertised for 30 minutes? It was a 15 minute guided walk around a field on a horse. The 'hour' trail ride lasted 50 minutes. The session to 'learn grooming and care for a horse'? All three of us were literally handed brushes, told how to walk around the back of a horse, then left standing next to one horse to brush. The optional activities were a bit short on what was advertised, though both boys said their time with the horses was their favorite part of the visit. The steakhouse prices had gone up quite a bit since 2022. We can highly recommend the biscuits, however. They are heavenly.

Looks like they tried updating here and there, but not helping much. We wouldn't bathe in the tub just shower. I didn't want to let my baby crawl on the floor. 2) two balcony doors overlooking lake... only one opens. 3) from staff was so inadequate. Neither gave us any info at checkin. Only one had a decent disposition. Both chatted loudly late into the night and early into the morning... our room was off the main lobby and we could hear everything. 4) used condom outside in the grass 5) restaurant is more of a pub, food was good enough. No room service but you can buy a whole wine bottle 6) air conditioning is so loud, we didn't use or we wouldn't be able to sleep 7) in room coffee was terrible. Food was late getting out and cold, orders were late in getting taken and people were not being attended to. The two bartenders were beyond "snowed"'and this place has t even hit peak yet. They need seasoned bartenders and servers. In the meantime order beer and simple food to ensure the order remains uncomplicated. The old bartender "cristy" had left but she certainly knew how to run the place. They need to make vast improvements to make it through the "season" This place has a great location and typically great food and service but some hands on management is needed to "tighten up" the house
