We stayed here for a week while our son participated in a local bowling tournament and overall, we had a pleasant experience. The condo itself was decent--nothing too fancy, but clean and comfortable enough for a family trip. What really stood out, though, was the helpfulness of the guest services. They were quick to answer questions and made check-in and any requests super easy. There are a ton of games available on-site. You can also purchase ice cream right on-site, which was a fun little bonus. We also appreciated the easy towel exchange system--something small, but really convenient when you're traveling with a family. One of the highlights for me was the gym located in the hotel just two parking lots over. It's a full facility and open to guests, which was great. I ended up chatting with a few locals there in the morning, and they couldn't have been friendlier--gave us great tips on what to do in the area and where to eat. If you're a golfer, the courses are amazing and well kept. All in all, this place served our needs well. It's not a luxury resort, but if you're in town for a tournament or just need a place with solid amenities and friendly service, it's definitely a good choice. read more

Did their stay and play package where breakfast and dinner buffet are included. On Fri night they did not provide dinner. We get to the dining room and there is no food left at the buffet. We asked the workers if they could put out some more food and they said no. So we didn't eat anything on Fri night because they have no other food options available onsite. Also they closed the bar down early on Sat night and asked all the remaining customers to leave at 1030p. I think the workers just wanted to go home early. Note they charged me $14 for a beers at the bar, way overpriced. Their golf course was a 5 hr round of golf on Fri. I think what they charge for the stay and play package is definitely overpriced. read more

What was once a very nice, even classy, place (during the 1980's and 1990's) has sunk to what appears to be neglect and indifference. Condo association owners have seen what was originally golf course property with nice furnishings and amenities to only condos (the golf courses have been sold, as have the hotel, banquet rooms, restaurant and bar). In our recent visit, the recreation center was closed over a dispute with developers of not being paid. The condos themselves are still dated with cheap furnishings. I can't imagine where all the maintenance fees are going, or the original timeshare purchase funds went. Condo time share association members certainly are not getting a quality return on investments. read more

5/5 Experience. I played an outing last week there and Blue, White, and Red played in great shape. The dinners and bar staff were great. The food was wonderful for our dinners. The hotel and pool were super clean. They have made beautiful additions since they took over. Also, I forgot my clubs at the clubhouse and traveled 3 hours away to home. Nick, their pro drove my clubs two towns over to get them shipped out for me. If you are looking for a great outing experience. I recommend Fox Hills. The pool and rec. Center are closed indefinitely. We were told we could use the hotel pool which was also closed. The bathrooms at the pool center we're closed due to hornets in the bathrooms. Had $ left on a gift card from winning 3rd place in the Halloween costume contest last year. I stopped in and had their mac & cheese and a couple whiskey sours. The mac & cheese was amazing and the drinks were good as well. It was 9 bucks for the mac & cheese and 4-5 bucks each for the drinks depending on the whiskey. This is a good place to just stop in and also for Thanksgiving and Halloween. Will always come here for drinks and events. read more

So I needed a break from the big city. From the work. From everything that I love. Fresh air, country side, green acres that's where I want to be. Farm livin' is the life for me. Land spreadin' out so far and wide Keep Chicago, just give me that countryside (Green Acres Theme Song adaptation) OK, for about a week that's what I want. After that, I can't survive without the city life. Population of 1,401 is just too low for me. That's the population of my block! One grocery store, a barber and a coffee shop. That's it in town. What can I say but for under $300, you really can't beat it. I got a last minute deal. I'm not sure what the resort rating is, but it's definitely an A-Ok kind of place. The furniture, bedding, curtains, etc are all dated and really can use a make over. It's clean though so I'll take that. The resort area has full kitchens but the utensils and plate and pots/pan are all from the 80's or possibly earlier than that. The dishwasher is not that great. Left residue on the dishes even with the Cascade. The pool is nice and so is the hot tub and gym and spa areas. It's nice that we came before spring break so we avoided that brat attack. There's also golfing for those that like to swing a club. Not much else to discuss. It's a quiet, oasis. Away from all the commotions and very nice people. At my age, it's a welcome break. It's come again. The only major disappointment was the reservation was mixed up somehow and we got a 2 bedroom instead of the 3 bedroom that I paid for... whatever it's not like I'm sleeping on the sofa! read more

I have never been to Fox Hills Resort and I heard good things about it. Especially for weddings. This past Saturday was the worst service I've ever experienced in my life. I called all week to try to reserve a spot for 20 guests. Because on Saturday I was getting engaged. No one picked up all week. I called between 11 am til 8pm everyday. Finally I went there in person around noon and was finally able to reserve a table room for 20 for 6:30pm. This was prime rib night. It wasn't even that busy. The waitress took 30 minutes to get our order in for drinks. Took an hour for her to come take our order for food and took another 2 hours to get our food. While ordering the waitress also told us there are only 4 King prime rib cuts reserved for our group. Why? Its prime rib night why can't everyone get prime rib? So we ordered the 4 prime ribs and only three king cut prime ribs came out. We told the waitress we are missing one king cut prime rib. She had the audacity to tell us, "You're messing with me right? I swear I brought out 4 King cut prime ribs." No lady we are missing one King cut prime rib. She goes back in the kitchen comes back out and says she apologizes that it was her fault they only had only three prime ribs cuts reserved for the 20 of us. How can you call is Prime Rib night when you dont even have enough prime ribs? At this time it was 9:00pm. I was the only one who didn't get my food. She asked if I wanted them to cook me a rib eye or sirloin steak. No, I'm NOT waiting another three hours for food. For the ones who did get the King cut prime rib. They said it tasted like they boiled the roast and wasn't even injected with herbs and garlic. It was very bland. My little niece ordered corn dogs and it came out burnt! How do you even burn corn dogs? The waitress then asked if she'd rather have a grilled cheese instead. No, no, no! When my father in law went to go pay for food they charged us for 5 adult and 2 child meals. We only received FOUR adult meals as my prime rib was never served. How do you not only forget someone's meal, but screw up the bill as well? No manager was present to even come apologize about the bad service. I brought you business of 20 people. We got there at 630pm and didn't get out until 930pm. Saturday was supposed to be the most happiest day of my life and your wait staff and cooking staff ruined our evening. read more

We stayed in a 1 BR condo. The resort is clean & comfortable. They have a indoor pool available, golf course and a restaurant. It is close to Green Bay and other cute little towns as well as Lake Michigan. We enjoyed exploring the countryside, Sturgeon Bay and Green Bay. It is a great place for a weekend retreat. read more

After reading some reviews I was a little nervous about spending our time here! My parents have timeshare through RCI and I decided to go up and stay with them while my kids were on spring break. I was pleasantly surprised to find the villa very clean. The mattresses are completely covered with a zip up mattress cover. The bedding is clean, there are no smells and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. The pillows and mattresses are comfy as well. The pool is large and clean, my kids enjoyed their time! If you visit this area you must go to the Point Beach Energy Center and the Wisconsin Maritime Museum! One last remark, while the servers at Benchwarmers are friendly and accommodating, the food is just ok. We did like the air hockey though! read more

I stayed here for a week on a business trip and I was pleasantly surprised. Based on some of the other reviews I had read I wasn't expecting much and in that sense they exceeded my expectations. I should add that I stayed in the hotel portion rather than in one of the condos. For starters, the place does look a little old, but not gawdy or run-down by any stretch of the imagination. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept and if the weather had been nice enough to play golf I'm sure the course would have been fun as well. The interior is clean and somewhat modern. The rooms are cozy with a wooden table and chairs, a comfy easy chair, a (somewhat hard) bed loaded with pillows, and a armoir/entertainment center. The TV is a little old. I expect they haven't been updated since the early to mid 90s. It did have a DVD player attached which is nice. The Internet connection was surprisingly fast and reliable. The fridge and microwave worked well and were big enough for a week's worth of supplies. The bathroom had a vent and a shower that actually had pressure. There weren't any tiny bottles of shampoo though - just a big dispenser on the wall that ejected worthless foamy shampoo/conditioner/body wash/hand soap. There's a sports bar attached to the hotel accessible down the hall from the rooms that was very nice as far as hotel bars go. A lot of big tvs and a game room full of arcade cabinets, pool tables, and air hockey along with decent food and good beer. There's a nice looking restaurant attached to the bar but I never saw anyone in there and I didn't venture in myself. The bar was very on the weekend as it's one of the only places in town. If you're ok with driving on country roads, you're within a 45 minute drive of bigger towns and Green Bay. read more

I have stayed at various resorts over the years and have not come across one like this one as far as the way they service guests. I'll start with the positives. The unit was clean. The area was lovely this time of year. We stayed in the 1 bedroom unit in one of the Villas. The entire staff consisted of very young men and women. They were not rude but they were not overly friendly either. When we got there I noticed that we had no typical amenities in the room such as a coffee pot or blow dryer. There was one teeny tiny trash can the size of a shoe box and that was it. I asked one of the cleaning people if it was possible to get a blow dryer and she said I had to go to the front desk and they would give me what I might need. We were able to actually get a blow dryer, coffee pot, small fridge and microwave. I would not have known these things were available had I not asked. We were also able to get a large trash bag. The keycards didn't work half the time. We got locked out of our room several times. The first time I locked myself out because I'd left the card in the room. I had to sit and wait over 20 mintues for someone to return so that I could get back in the room. I first had him call the room to see if my husband could let me in and when husband picked up the phone he couldn't hear anything so I was given a new card. After that we had quite a few times when the cards stopped working. Instead of waiting for someone to return to the desk we just ended up shouting up at the balcony to each other. That's sad that we had to keep going through that. The wifi didn't work the first day but after that it did work. There was no real concierge to help with finding things in the area and there was only one person at the front desk at any given time. It was not easy getting assistance. We are not golfers so there was little else to do at the resort as far as entertainment. read more

Our quilting group of nearly 60 Quilters just had a relaxing four day stay here. Staff was very pleasant and food was very good. We just wished that breakfast could be ale carte rather than a large buffet. Would recommend to any group looking for a venue. read more

We were concerned about the cleanliness after some of the earlier reviews, but we were invited to a family reunion here so we came. We were pleasantly surprised. For young kids, you really only have swimming and maybe golf lessons and a playground. The pool was huge and the pool areas had a total of 3 pools. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very responsive to anything we needed. We stayed in the Villas. Yes the Wi-Fi signal is slim to none (unless you are in the bar, the hotel or the pool buildings), but this is a place to relax and enjoy family and pretty much golf every day. The golf courses are gorgeous and there are plenty of options to choose. They have renovated many of the Villas and are almost done. It was a pleasant stay and we will definitely go back. read more

My husband and I went to Wisconsin to catch a Packers game and as there were no hotels anywhere in Green Bay (I guess we waited too long to start looking??), we ended up staying at the Fox Hills Resort in Mishicot. I think we really lucked out though, b/c we had a great experience there. The room was typical, clean, had a fridge and microwave which came in handy. The only thing I can complain about is it didn't have those little bottles of shampoo and conditioner (it only had a pump w/ "shampoo/body wash all-in-one"), and the maid took our soap and never gave us a new one. However, they did bring me a few "feminine products" so I guess they're even on that one. The hotel has a great deal on game weekends, and we ended up getting a room for two nights, two free-breakfast vouchers, two free-drink vouchers and a bus ride to and from Lambeau (a "party" bus nonetheless!) all for around $200. Not bad at all! The hotel had great amenities too: a pool, hot tub, sauna, gym, bar and restaurant (though the Sunday brunch price was pretty steep and we wouldn't do that again...not that it was bad food or anything, just more expensive than what we wanted to pay for a breakfast). Overall, a great place to stay, especially if you're there for a Packers game and do the package deal like we did. read more

My stay at this resort was planned by my parents. Since we're used to staying with them at their various timeshares, we were expecting a nice luxurious weekend in a beautiful place. FYI - you're not going to get that here. We drive up to the unit and it looks decent from the outside. I was pretty excited to get our stuff inside and relax after our 6 hour drive to get there. We opened the front door and I immediately knew this was not going to be the fancy-pants type of place we were used to. The smell of the building reminded me of my college dorm days when you could smell everything people were cooking in the hall. Just gross. I hurried upstairs to our unit to get away from the smell and noticed all sorts of fraying and staining on the ugly carpet. Another sign of what was to come. We unlocked out unit door and walking in and I instantly was given the unique opportunity to do what the majority think is impossible --- I time traveled. I suddenly found myself standing in a bad 70's movie. Everything in this place needs upgrading; the furniture, appliances, bedding, curtains, carpet. Some of the bathroom tiles were even chipping away and revealing dirty grout underneath. We stayed in an apartment unit with a full kitchen and I'd guess that nothing to cook with or eat off of was purchased after 1985. The carpet was a little gross and I was uncomfortable letting my young toddler crawl around on it. I was also really turned off by the shower/bath conditions. Even the lampshades in the unit were ugly and old, but at least not a health hazard. And with my owning my own business, I needed an opportunity to do a little work during our weekend there and found that the only place that offered wi-fi in this ghost town was at the pool building.... which brings me to..... The pros (yeah, I found a couple): They have an indoor and outdoor pool and the building that houses those was right across from our unit, so not a long walk. And the facility itself was actually quite nice. I had tried to connect to the wi-fi from our unit, because it was so close to the pool building where the wi-fi was, but no dice. So I opted to head over to the pool area with my family and while they swam, I connected to the internet. Or I tried, at least. I tried several times on my own, and then enlisted the help of the desk person at the pool and she offered no advice but a snippy "Well, I'm on it, so it works". Really? And the fact that my laptop has worked at every coffee shop, airport, hotel and home connected wi-fi since I purchased it eludes you completely? So needless to say, I let the teenage dream think what she wanted about her supreme knowledge of the interwebz, and I didn't attempt to connect any more, and got no work done that weekend. Oh, yeah - one more pro: luckily, our weekend was filled with wine tastings and trips to Green Bay so we didn't have to spend much time at this "resort". I think next time the parentals offer to find a timeshare for us to join them for, we'll help them look for something better and make them accept our money help to ensure it's a better experience than this. read more

We had high hopes for this resort. They have been somewhat iconic for many years. However, to be fair, the villa we stayed in wasn't bad. They are very spacious and comfortable. It would have been nice to have coffee in the room, but otherwise they are what we would expect. In general, the facilites could use some updating. The exterior is showing it's age and the doors (including patio) are a bit rough. I would have given 4 stars if it wasn't for... THE HORRIBLE RESTURANT! Absolutly rude and arogant staff. The "buffet" food was cold, and tasted terrible. It was clearly all frozen and canned food (except maybe the pasta, but even that was cold). The peel and eat shrimp were not devained and the manager even had the balls to say that is normal. Sorry...eating a 1 inch line of poop as thick as pencil lead is not normal. Yes Hills Bar and Grill...you can clean peel and eat shrimp. Being a Friday night, there was a lot of seafood options. The only one that was warm and somewhat edible was the fried cod. The worst part was the attitude from the waitress and manager. I tried to be calm and decent when I brought up the issues, but they treated us like they were doing us a favor by offering 5 star cuisine. After arguing for a bit, they finally gave is sething off the bill. Lodging...not bad. Resturant....never again read more

It was great in the 90's, but incredibly outdated now. Don't buy into the condo ownership idea either, no matter how good they make it sound. $500 a year in maintenance fees and the place hasn't been updated since my parents bought it more than 20-years-ago. They tried to get out of their ownership that they paid $8,000+ for, and were told they'd have to pay even more to get rid of the place! They couldn't even hand their ownership back! Definitely a scam. I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I was up for a 3 night stay with friends and co-workers. 32 golfers. The facilities were fine. A step above sime of the other well know golf resorts of this level in Wisconsin. The only issue I encountered was the restaurant. Now the pizza is excellent. And the grill food, sandwiches and burgers etc, are done well but the dinner entrees were disappointing. Had the Friday fish fry. Fish was good but the potato was cold. Butter would not even begin to melt. I asked for a new, HOT, one and they brought back my original which the had microwaved. Terrible tasting. Biggest disappointment was the porterhouse our last night. They ran out of the prime rib special unusually early so I went with the PH. I asked for it medium cooked and it came out mostly raw accompanied by, you guessed it, another cold potato. Steak was also dry and seamed to kack even a slight dose of seasoning. I nicely asked the waitress to make things right with this $31.95 steak. They threw the steak back on the grill and, you guessed it, nuked the potato. If your going to promote a $31.95 "juicy" Porterhouse have a cook that knows what he/she doing. It takes more than a burger and chicken strip cook to grill a steak that you can justify asking $32 for. read more

Fox hills is what it is. I paid $256 for a 2 night, 3 day unlimited golf weekend. It included $40 for the restaurant. If your paying that little, don't expect Trump Hotels amenities and service. I was actually surprised how decent the course was.( there is two courses, but we didn't get to play the links course due to no carts allowed because of the amount of rain.) the only real downer was the food. The Friday fish fry was bad. I went in for lunch between rounds on Saturday for a burger, because- how can you f up a burger, right? Well they did.. it was one of the worst burgers I ever had..but with all the above, I would still come back. We are planning on coming back next August for better golfing weather. read more

Be very careful with the timeshare people. I have just received notice of a fraud by Fox Hills for a time share that I have not owned for over a decade. Fox Hills filed a fraudulent garnishment request, I am not saying that all of the personal there regularly lie and cheat for the purpose of stealing money from you more than through the fallacy of any ownership with a time share but there is at least one. read more

This place has somethings going for it with a wonderful bar right on site and a restaurant and 2 golf courses but once you leave the resort you're in the middle of nowhere,The hotel was nice but you could hear every time someone walked by in hallway and many did as the hallways are the corridors to get in between everything,Some of the staff was nice while some we're not so nice.All in all the stay was sufficient. read more

The WORST wedding meal I have EVER been served 4/25/15. Rancid burnt chicken that got my husband, myself & 3 year old daughter sick for days. We could all smell the 'burn' in the holding area before we were even allowed in & they served it anyway. Still crunchy stuffing, vegetable mush & MOLD on the dinner roll. And it wasn't just our table, the poor bride's Facebook page has been blown up with complaints from all her guests. Think management cares??? Doubtful since several people have tried contacting them with no response. Maybe someone has to die of food poisoning first. read more

Went to Fox Hills this weekend for Halloween. Even though my last stay there was horrible I thought I'd give them another chance. Big mistake. The bartenders were slow, rude and incompetent. The DJ's choice of music was meant for a club for 22 year olds. One employee, Jen, was even criticizing guests for their costumes. I am definitely done with Fox Hills unless major changes are made with their staff. read more

Recently stayed here for the first time for a family reunion in the area. I stayed in the actual resort and was pleasantly surprised to see that they had recently redecorated. New carpets, paint, flat screen TV, linens, mattresses. We had no problems with the cable TV or WiFi in our room. We chose a second floor room with a balcony looking over the back of the resort and our room was extremely quiet. We felt like we were the only people there. It doesn't have an elevator so if you have trouble with stairs, you might want to keep a ground level room. We did have trouble with a slow drain in our bathroom but that was fixed quickly once we brought it to their attention. The grounds are beautiful and I wouldn't hesitate staying here again. read more
