The staff was very helpful and patient, taking the time to guide me through the process and helping me choose the perfect wood frame to complement my artwork. The framing took a little over three weeks, which was slightly longer than I expected, but it was absolutely worth the wait. When I picked it up yesterday, the finished piece looked beautiful -- clearly crafted with care and attention to detail. The cost was a bit higher than I had hoped (a little over $300), but the quality of the materials and craftsmanship really shows. These days, everything seems to be more expensive, and in this case, you definitely get what you pay for: premium quality framing. I also want to mention how important it is to support small, local businesses like this one. Unlike big corporate framing chains, Alan Jeffries feels personal, thoughtful, and part of the community. I truly hope shops like this continue to thrive in our neighborhood. I sell art, and one of my pieces was advertised as already framed in a two-inch-wide black lacquered frame, but it had scratches and wasn't suitable for my sale. To meet my customer's request to keep the same size and uphold my own standards, I decided to have it reframed. After calling several framers who didn't have the exact size, I finally found Charles' Custom Picture Framing. Charles, the owner, assured me over the phone that he had a two-inch shiny black lacquered frame and could customize it for my piece. When I went to pick it up, the frame looked smaller than two inches, so I asked him to measure it. It turned out to be only 1¾ inches wide, not the two inches I paid for. When I brought this up, he insisted I had seen it beforehand and offered no empathy or solution. I was charged $382 for a two-inch frame, which is a lot of money for a frame that didn't even include glass or plexiglass, and received something smaller than promised. Because of this, I may lose my sale. This experience felt dishonest, unprofessional, and disappointing. I would not recommend Charles' Custom Picture Framing to anyone.
