My dining partner had their short ribs and substituted extra veggies for the mashed potatoes. I tasted it and it was perfect. The stuffed jalapeno appetizer was very good. I gawked at platters of other foods going by and it all looked delicious! Now this place has a very nice patio for cooler weather and a huge main dining room. The surprise was the bourbon room, which looked like an old-money private club, and across from that a pool room with 3 pool tables. This is really a nice place and I wish the owners well! Our cheese burger and roast beef sandwich was really good. Even though we didn't order steaks those around us did and not only did they look and smell delicious the customers I asked about them said they tasted "excellent, divine, cooked perfectly". My wife had the scallops, they were literally cold, had grit on them and there were 5 small scallops. I had a steak, it was cooked perfectly and was fork tender. However it lacked flavor and if i hadn't added the sauce it wouldn't have had any taste. The shared potatoes were just ok. Our food was cold, service was slow, portions were lacking, and our bill was over $180 with tip. We routinely go have a nice meal like this once a week and happily spend more than that on a killer meal, but this was lack luster compared to past visits. I can't say we will be back this time. The cheese curds were legit- the cheese was tasty and the breading just right. My wife ordered the Rueben on sourdough instead of the offered rye. The sandwich was a classic Reuben which my wife liked so much that I had to have a bite. It was great! Plenty of corned beef and hash with a sauce that added the right amount of tang. My son ordered the fish and chips. The fish was outstanding and my son and I both agreed that it was as good as fish that we had recently had in London- awesome! One note about the fries- the fries were scrumptious and came in a shape that seems like they shaved from a potato rather than the usual shape of a fry.
