We've been here several times, and have been many times over the years when it was Uncle Kwok's. The food here is wonderful, and the people now running it are really nice. Big fans of the lemon chicken, mushu and various vegetable dishes. The food is always tasty and fresh! I came back hoping food would be better. Again, soup is too salty.I ordered broccoli chicken, even saltier than the soup. Really, I can't believe it. I've never had food this salty, not anywhere in the Bay Area. Not anywhere in Taiwan or Hong Kong. Not anywhere in mainland China. Not a little too salty, waaaay too salty. The egg roll was ok. Went for lunch one other table of two when we arrived. They said sit anywhere but when we went to sit (2 tables from the occupied table) they said we couldn't sit there. Moved us next to the front counter, didn't like that as it gets crowded when people came in to get their to go orders. Beverages were brought out promptly but waited about 10 minutes for someone to take our order. 3 employees at front desk talking and helping with to go orders. Watched 4 to go orders go out and 3 came back and said something was missing. Finally got someone's attention and asked if we could order, she said yes and walked away. Waited about 10 more minutes (benefit of the doubt that they were working out the kinks). Gave up, asked to pay for the beverages but they couldn't figure out how to ring that up so they said no charge for waiting so long. Lots of crab very tasty not with the overpowering seafood sauce like so many other places and loved the crispy rice Szechuan Boiled Fish ok this was my wifes as I am not a spicy person, but I did try and fish was really really good. A bit spicy for my taste but my wife loved it. War Won Ton Soup was ordered to go. We had it the next day and loved it. Disappointing. Sizzling rice soup had very little flavor. Kung pao prawns had way too much celery. Barely spiced. The sauce in the broccoli tofu in spicy garlic sauce had hardly any flavor. I was traveling through Aptos around lunch time and pulled off highway 1. Saw this place and decided to give it a try because I didn't see it listed in Yelp. I found out the restaurant is brand new under new management as of June 1st. I eat Chinese food frequently and Szechuan is one of my favorites. I had their lemon chicken, kung Pao chicken, black mushroom and bok choy, egg rolls, and honey walnut prawns with my family. The food was really good and very authentic. Usually most Kung Pao is under spiced but theirs was perfect. Enough zing to tease my taste buds but not so much that I'm begging for water, lol. The lemon chicken was very good as well. The walnut shrimp was also good. Sometimes you'll get it with to much of the white sauce but this was well done. Egg rolls were generous size. My favorite dish though was the black mushroom and Bok Choy (pronounced quing cai in mandarin), it was as good as I had when I traveled to China in the 90s perfectly authentic. Service was attentive, friendly and responsive! I would highly recommend this restaurant for locals and for those just traveling through. Prices were very reasonable for lunch! read more

As I sit here typing I am debating if I need to go to the hospital for food poisoning. Twice cooked pork must mean from two weeks ago because it was dry and tasted foul. Ate two bites and realized this was bad. The owner seemed upset that I didn't bring my daughter for some reason. Creepy. I just got there from the gym and was starving so I ate mostly the rice and pushed the pork to the side. He never brought my change back from paying either but I was too grossed out and left before I thought about it. I was hacking and spitting as soon as I got close to my car.
