This is a little gem in Leyton. What makes this Vietnamese restaurant stand outs, is that it has a slightly different added menu, it still makes the traditional food, but stuffed chicken wings? Saying that, the traditional dishes were just as splendid, full of mouth watering flavours, combining with the freshness and texture when taking that first bite. And there was no skimping on the portion sizes. I left that restaurant quite full. The venue itself was spacious and open. really cool modern and simple decorating, but it works. Even when the restaurant was full, still did not feel crowded, quite the opposite, relax with a buzz vibe. That was also due to the part of the waiters, who were very friendly, attentive, and on point. They have some really good lunch offers at the moment, so that really helps, but generally the cost is quite decent and value for money, comparing to other Vietnamese restaurants. Other than parking and its awkward location, one way narrow road, I would say this is a good place to eat.

I was offered a small bowl of homemade kimchi to go with my Tiger beer, which I was delighted by! I've wanted to try Kimchi for AGES! And it was so tasty :-) I ordered a king prawn pho. Flat noodles; halved prawns; fresh coriander, basil and mint; sliced red chilli and bean sprouts on the side which I added. I also asked if they could give it a bit of a kick to try and sink my blossoming cold and they kindly obliged. Not too hot, but enough to give it some warmth. Omnomnom! Gorgeous :-) I spoke to the owner afterwards and he said they were quite new. I would definitely be back if I'm in the area.

I had one of the soups with rice vermicelli, beef and vegetables. It was good but no matter what spiciness I added, the broth still seemed too bland for my preference. Same for my wife's rice vermicelli with mixed vegetables. The little bowl of pickled vegetables that was brought to the table were delicious. Just the right amount of spice and pickling. The restaurant is very clean, nicely decorated and it's front tables open to the sidewalk, with a couple of tables outside. Also the price was very reasonable. I'd like to give these nice people 4 stars for all the above, but the main entree failed to satisfy.

We visited Pho with our young family (two adults, a toddler, and a baby), and while there were some…read morepositives to the experience, we left feeling disappointed and disheartened by how the situation was handled. Firstly, we want to say thank you for checking in on our food and being so responsive to our allergy concerns. That care was genuinely appreciated and gave us confidence in what we were eating. However, the experience fell short in how our family was treated--particularly as parents of a neurodiverse toddler. Understandably, our little one was tired and hungry when we arrived. While waiting for food, he became overstimulated and struggled to stay calm, eventually settling with a game that helped him regulate--though it did cause him to vocalize loudly in excitement. We were actively trying to manage this, including removing the crayons and activities when they became unhelpful. A supervisor then approached us and said other guests were complaining, asking whether we could "keep him quiet or go outside." While we understand the need to be mindful of other diners, the way this was said felt more like an ultimatum than a compassionate check-in. In that moment, we needed support, not pressure. What made it worse was overhearing a staff member say to a couple who had just been seated near us, "Let us know if you want to move at any point." This clearly implied our child was a problem. To their credit, the couple themselves questioned why they'd need to move--highlighting that the issue wasn't as disruptive as it was made out to be. Still, overhearing this exchange without any attempt by staff to reassure or support us left us feeling judged and unwelcome. We truly understand the challenge of balancing a calm environment for all diners, but families--especially those with neurodiverse children--need more understanding, not subtle exclusion. These situations require empathy and discretion, not public discomfort. Again, thank you for your excellent attention to food allergies. That part of the service was handled with care and professionalism. We hope this feedback encourages greater awareness and inclusive training for staff so that families can feel just as welcomed as anyone else.

I had the noodles with beef for the main. It was truly something special. Served with flavourful brown sauce, roasted nuts, fresh herbs and greens with and bean sprouts. We weren't informed of out of stocks until we ordered, I definitely think it's a fair expectation to know of shortages before we read the menu. In the end, we shared fried squid, Viet spring rolls, betal leaf-wrapped beef and summer rolls. The squid was very good, the spring rolls were bland, the beef was not served with the garnishes I've experienced in other restaurants (vermilcelli, mixed herbs, leaves and crushed nuts) but tasted ok. The summer rolls were as boring as they always are and all portions were small. Mains, we tried the shakin' beef, prawn and tofu curries, BBQ pork special, caramel pork belly and the pancake. The curries were clearly the same base with the prawns or tofu added for serving and nothing exciting at all. The BBQ pork was very dry and hadn't had enough marination time. The pancake was good large portion, stuffed with spring onions, onions, prawns and pork with lettuce and herbs in the side with a good dip on the side. We ordered Vietnamese iced coffees to finish and they took forever to come. Overall, service was friendly and well-meant but on the slow side and not all the food was at an acceptable level. Overall, I would say it's a mixed bag but if you order squid then pancake, you will do just fine!!

Amazing food, service needs some work…read more 5 minutes from Highbury and Islington Tube and overground this Vietnamese restaurant had taken a tough area to do business, where the previous two business closed, to stay afloat. There is a very good reason. The food is amazingly good and what you expect from a great Vietnamese so I would advise that they do their best to keep the chef! The reason I say this is there were some unnecessary errors on the part of the waiting staff who were sadly a bit sloppy on a Monday night. First do not give a bill to a customer who has just arrived. Second do not start eating your food when the customer is still waiting for theirs at 10pm. However I do agree that you were very diplomatic and were quick to realise that a grave error had been made and then made the necessary changes to the bill. Thank you Andy, you saved the night for us and we will be coming to sample the food again. The restaurant is the standard hipster hangout with brick walls, artistic graffiti on walls and pipes hanging out so it looks unfinished. Lighting was good and tables were well placed to make you feel that there is enough space to enjoy a quick meal in peace. Vietnamese food always makes me think of street food. It is quick, light and filled with so much flavour. Our pork spring rolls had a crunchy outer layer with a sumptuous pork filling. The vegetable pancake went perfectly with the lettuce leaves and the sweet sauce. Sadly we waited a bit too long for the mains so had to have them when I got home. The Caramelised braised pork belly (Thit Kho) was just amazing. The fat just melted in my mouth and both the meat and the fat was infused with the rich flavour of the sauce. A good restaurant for a quick meal whether you are a couple or a large group. I highly recommend it even though I hope that the service is on par on the day you visit.

I love that the summer rolls come with the tangy dipping sauce not the weird peanut sauce that most Vietnamese restaurants seem to serve these days. The pan fried fish came with vermicelli and paper rolls so you can roll them yourself (which we completely failed at). The papaya salad was quite spicy but I liked the kick. Portions are well sized so you don't have to worry about leaving hungry. Would definitely frequent if I was a local!

I ran in to see if they did take aways and they did, plus the fact is smelt devine and the staff were so friendly and welcoming meant I immediately knew I was buying dinner here. Between the two of us we had a prawn pho, a beef in black bean sauce and a noodle dish with chicken plus some summer rolls (yes, we're pigs!) They packed everything up beautifully (beware the pho, it does spill very easily as my poor flip-flopped foot found out in the car) and away we went. I'll admit it was very late by the time we got home and I wolfed my food down at the speed of light, but everything was as delicious as I knew it'd be. This will now be my number one stop for good Vietnamese food in north London!
