This is one of only two bad reviews I've ever left in my life. With that said, I just made my second consecutive trip from Oklahoma to San Diego for a mother-daughter spa day, to treat my girl who is in the Navy and stationed here. Back in February I had scheduled two sauna experiences followed by two 75 min massages. The day of the scheduled appointments I got a call telling me that a few of their employees had called in and they were not going to be able to give us our massages. They asked if we wanted a bath experience instead which is not even close to the same as a massage so we declined and I was left, scrambling to find another spa who could fit us both in for a massage. After calling eight different places, someone, in fact, a spa nearby, was able to fit us in last minute, and it was great. Crisis averted. Four Moons Spa did offer to give us a 20% discount if we gave him another chance which I did on my next trip out to San Diego. I told them I was coming back for another mother-daughter time, i would like the exact same appointments booked that I had last time when they had to cancel. A sauna for two and a 75 minute massage for two. We show up, the grounds are beautiful, I will give them that. Woman who checked us in, very kind and accommodating. We get changed into our robes and are promptly taken back to the sauna for two. It was ok. (Preferred the eucalyptus sauna we did at the nearby spa). When the 30 minute sauna was over, we went back to the changing area and someone came to collect me for my 75 minute massage and I assumed someone would be right behind to grab my daughter for hers. When I got out of the massage, 75 minutes later, my daughter was fully dressed and looked very upset. I asked her how she got dressed so quickly when she went after me, she said no one ever came to get her, and when she went to ask the receptionist about her massage, she was told that all the massage therapists had left for the day, and they somehow messed up, again, and did not get her scheduled for her massage. They literally only scheduled one of us and my daughter was left to just sit there and wait on me that whole time. Giving them another chance was a mistake. I felt horrible for my daughter. I would've given her the 1 massage they managed to book had I known that's all they scheduled. As I mentioned, she's in the Navy, and I very much wanted to treat her to a relaxing spa day and both times, Four Moons Spa dropped the ball. Needless to say, we will not return. Would like to mention again, the woman who checked us in for our sauna, was very polite, very apologetic, was also confused at how this happened and did not charge me for my massage. I don't blame her at all, she did what she could in the moment to rectify the situation. I'm not even saying that spa goers shouldn't come here as the grounds are beautiful and there is potential to have a good experience. My suggestion would be to confirm, and then confirm again before arriving that they have your scheduled appointment correct. read more

The hype on this spa gave me very high expectations. For atmosphere they get 5 stars, but there were so many things that just didn't live up to what you'd expect from a place that has styled itself as a luxury spa. I went for a massage during vacation. Like I mentioned, the place itself is gorgeous and very relaxing. However the way I was greeted by the receptionist was kind of abrasive and not welcoming. She did give me a glass of water when I asked but it was like 1/4 full. Even at check out, I got the overall impression that I was beneath her and she just wanted me to leave and not linger. The massage itself was not the worst I've had but definitely not what I was expecting from this type of place. I've had much better massages at places that aren't as chic. The masseuse was very abrupt with her hands- I'm used to more professional masseurs maintaining some contact so as not to startle or easing back into contact if they need to get more lotion. She never really stayed in an area long enough to really release tension and often when I felt like she was starting to get somewhere she moved on. She also wasn't great at making sure she completed both sides. For example when doing the foot massage she did toes on one side but not at all on the other. Also, the table wobbled a lot. It's not like I felt like I would fall but it was definitely not relaxing. Just a meh massage that I would probably rate at 2 stars, being generous. read more

I used to practice yoga here when it was still Spa Bergamot. It's a lovely little retreat hotel spot. And Mike is an amazing massage therapist. While the staff seemed a bit unprofessional and checked out (I had to prompt them with everything from where is the locker room to what is included in the service, etc etc) Mike more than made up for that with his expertise. My friend and I had lovely day celebrating her soon to be nuptials. We started off with a heavenly restorative yoga and reiki class. Then off to the Infrared sauna, followed by a self guided hamam scrub. We loved the heated marble table and charming brass vessels you use to rinse off with. Afterwards we enjoyed our lunch by the koi pond and then indulged in a massage and cranial sacral session. The spa is quaint, peaceful and modern. It's a little slice of heaven. Massage: the massage was amazing. Guinevere Is very experienced and professional. I could feel the lasting results of her massage all week. She actually worked out some long holding tension in my upper back and shoulders. I'm very grateful. I had never experienced skin rolling before, it was intense but very productive and therapeutic. We also accidentally left our bathing suits in the locker room, major fail on our part. I drove the hour back to the spa this weekend to pick them up. Unfortunately they were not where to be found. I was super bummed, but low and behold the owner had kindly taken them home to be washed she returned swiftly with them all fresh and clean. That deserves an extra star if you ask me! I received a gift card to Four Moons in Encinitas. I hesitated to visit because I live 2.5 hours away. I booked a deep tissue massage with Guinevere and it was wonderful. Once I got home I realized I left a personal bag with my make up there. I called and they immediately responded and within two days it was delivered to my door. Y'all this place is RIDICULOUS. Gorgina coy pond, amazing service, and I swear to gourd everyone who works here is so beautiful. My husband and I came here the day after our wedding and we are so thankful we did. We did the sauna (we sweat). Amalia (spelling?) and Hannah (i think?) literally gave us the best massages of our lives. We covered ourselves in the goo (kind of yucky tbh but in a good way? also stimuli overload for my fellow neurodivergents but the scrub and the body mask was perfection) HAVE to give a huge shoutout to my girl Jenny who did my facial. She was incredible. She can read if you just want to lay and relax in silence (boring) OR if you want to gab and make friends and chat it up (can you guess which one i was). Had my birthday here and I so loved how cute the location was , just had people sitting outside the window of my bungalow where I was having a massage that did t help we're talking the whole entire time . Also therapist had to leave the room during treatment to get pin topical as non was in the room . Besides that was pretty nice . Would have liked more pressure but I guess it's not her style or she doesn't know the modality well . Anyhow if go again , but would try another service next time . I had my first experience at Four Moons just a few months ago and wow, what a beautiful setup! I was greeted by smiling faces, happy birds chirping and lots of free vibes. I had my massage with Kelly, who let me tell you, she's amazing! I came in with low back pain and at that time also had a bum shoulder I had been dealing with, which she carefully and thoroughly addressed. I love this place! It is beautiful and I've had wonderful specialist caring for me. Currently I'm doing acupuncture with Dr. Alexa Woods and I hope I would have started earlier. She is kind and her practice includes healing the whole body and habits, she has been supportive and knowledgeable and I've felt the best I've had in years. I did the hour long Four Moons massage with Summer. She really seemed to pin point my problem areas and I left feeling 100x better than I did coming in. I'm so happy I didn't go for a bargain massage at one of the big chains. This was definitely worth it. This is a great place to get a massage or a facial. If you want a serene and peaceful environment that's not a full on spa but also not a chain in a shopping center, you've come to the right place! I recently got a pre-natal massage here. I love how the treatment rooms are individual, like little casitas, with fresh air flowing through. I also got the treatment room by the koi pond so had the peaceful sounds of the water to listen to ask well. Danika was my therapist and asked lots of questions to make sure she focused on the right areas, which I appreciate. They used to have the pregnancy massage pillow that you can rest your belly in, which I prefer since it allows a better massage on the back and shoulders but they don't have it anymore. I hope they bring that back. They use Eminence skin care products which is organic and I also love when I've gotten a facial here. It was easy to book online and I could get in quickly. read more

I originally found this spa and attend a full moon healing event which was amazing. I booked a massage and was really disappointed with the service and lack of amenities. When I arrived for my massage, I was not offered a robe or offered a refreshment. The massage was good and I added an enhancement ( head trip) which was also good. I feel it's over priced. I don't know if they have showers, it would have been nice to wash the oils out of my hair, they didn't have an area to freshen up, nor did the staff encourage lounging. I have seen many different types of therapists, and was blown away at how quickly she completely saw my issue and how to unravel it. However, I had a family emergency and had to fly to Northern California to care for my mother with dementia as my stepfather was put in the hospital in critical condition. I was gifted a spa certificate to Four Moons Spa, and had a superb experience from start to finish. The location is easy to find, with plenty of parking in their private lot. The open air grounds feature various small freestanding buildings for service rooms. That style of set up not only adds such charm, but adds an extra element of relaxation, as you are in your own building, with no other voices, doors, or anything to disturb you during your treatment. The exterior is sprinkled with seating, beautiful trees and plants, and strung overhead lights for evening appointments. I was pleased with genuinely friendly staff in the office, who swiftly got me checked in, and offered me a drink of choice. I went with a coconut green tea, which was lovely, esp if you are a coconut lover. My first treatment was a massage with Kate. She did a fantastic job, applying the deep pressure I desire. The room was cozy, and the massage table was the most comfortable I've been on. My second treatment was a facial with Marcia. She did a great job as well. I also enjoyed the natural products used for the facial. It left me with a really great feeling when completed. Check out was easy and quick. The gifts in the office are adorable, and several locally sourced, so I couldn't leave before buying the perfect gift for a friend. This review is for Four Moons as an event space - I've never received any of their spa services. We were supposed to host our rehearsal dinner / welcome cocktail event in the Four Moons courtyard earlier this year. We'd been working with their event coordinator ~6 months before our event, but as the event drew closer, we could not get ahold of anyone at Four Moons. Apparently, the event coordinator left and we were never connected with a new point of contact. Eventually, we came to find out that Four Moons did not have our event on the books (which was not a great surprise 30 days in advance of hosting 100+ people for the cocktail party) and in fact they had never signed our initial contract despite taking the $1750 deposit to hold the date. Even after visiting the spa in person, emailing the owner, and calling the owner, we could not get ahold of anyone who would work with us. When the owner finally called me back, she was shocked to hear about our experience (did you not read my multiple emails?). Ultimately, we cancelled our event because we had 0 faith in their ability to successfully coordinate an event. So disappointing because I hear their spa services are amazing. But if you're looking for an event space for any occasion, look elsewhere. Their event business is a total scam. read more

Before all this crazy COVID stuff, i had a membership that gave me 20% off all services every month and auto-payed a 90 minute massage every month at 20% off too.... it was amazing. I love the ethereal feel of the spa, and I love what they are doing now with the outdoor massages and services. Its very tribal and supportive. Highly recommend a looksee.... otherwise I think you might be missing out.
