I don't want to have to have a whole lot of interaction for a simple job. If you did, then that indicates a problem, and I had no problem here. The following issue is minor and shouldn't dissuade any one from doing business with them. The only thing that I wasn't thrilled about was the price. Maybe $300 is the bare minimum for him to come out, i'm not sure, but he took less than twenty minutes to fix my roof. I wasn't home, but thanks to my Ring doorbell, I saw him climb on the roof at 12:00 and then climb down 12:05 and take the ladder away and not come back. While on the roof I saw him throwing the coupe damaged shingles down. At 11:45 he was not there, so sometime between 11:45 and 12:00 he showed up and was done by 12:05. Because of how quick he came out and how response he was, I am giving him the benefit of the doubt and believe he treated my job the same as he would anyone in the terms of cost. He may have even escalated my job above another because it was a small repair and it was during a few little rainy days. All I can really compare it to is the other repair men I have had come out in the various fields like plumbing, electrical and others and have an idea of what prices generally can run. My cynical side has noticed a pattern that if I am not home for the work then many tend to over charge the cost and I think that has to do with the lack of supervision and because I live in a decent home many see that as an opportunity and take advantage of that. Again, I am not saying they did that here. Only saying that $900 an hour ($300 for 20 minutes) seems a bit high for almost any field. I would not hesitate to call upon them again for work, I would just receive a few estimates.

Called again on 8-1 and they sent someone else of to look at the pipe. Called again on 8-14 no result. They never have called me. It took me less than 5 minutes to find the pipe on line. I'm glad they found the problem but their resolution was beyond lacking. The repair has been made by someone else.

The invoice was higher than the quote. When I asked why, they said they had to replace a rotten piece of roof decking. When I asked how there could be a rotten roof decking sheet under a new roof they had no answer for me. Either my new 50 year warranty roof is leaking or they put shingles over rotten decking to begin with. Best part... they keep telling me they'll come out and see what the problem is but they don't. They came out to inspect the problem, found that one of the pipes on the roof is damaged and causing the problem. Since we were expecting more rain, they came back that same afternoon to temporarily seal the area until we can permanently fix it. I contracted with the Conway branch for roof, siding and paint on my house. I was assured that…read morethey would use expert installers that worked for them. Roofers did a good job but it went downhill from there. The first siding installers messed it up completely and severely damaged the front and rear doors, and damaged the new roofing edges by leaning ladders against it. First Star sent a second crew that tore off and replaced the siding but couldn't fix the doors. They even replaced the front storm door but it still wouldn't work right because the doorframe was sprung. Then the power wash crew came out but didn't have a power washer. They had to go to Home Depot and buy one. Wanted to quit 2/3 of the way through because they didn't bring any fuel for it. I put my own gas in it for them to finish. When the paint crew showed up they didn't even have any ladders and had to use mine. They didn't caulk the gaps as promised. First Star had no qualms about leaving a 75 year old man to caulk siding and touch up paint, and repair doors and doorframes so the doors will actually close and latch. Plus I'm still picking up chunks of fiber cement siding, nails, and shards of aluminum soffit from the yard. It's not like they were pressed for time. Started in October, finished in August. You'd be better off going to Home Depot early in the morning and picking your own crews. Probably would get better results.

I am incredibly disappointed in the lack of communication, expectation for me to eat costs after agreeing to an increase in price twice (I didn't argue.), this is negatively impacting my income, and I still have no roof installed. I signed a contract for a roof replacement on 3/25. Since then there have been two additional cost increases to the contract due to missing materials, and incorrect measurement of the size of the roof. Multiple specific requests to be notified of when the install date is have gone unanswered. I work from home and will be unable to schedule clients for that date, so need to know in advance. I have been incredibly clear that this is important and I need a specific date. Yesterday I was informed the roof above the front door could not be installed because of the condition under the metal roof. This may void my homeowners insurance for future claims on that section of the roof and is not at all what was agreed on in the contract. They offered to repair the metal roof flashing, and leave the hail damaged metal. Additionally I was told that I would not be receiving a refund on the materials for this portion of the project because the company has had to "eat costs" on my project. Still don't have confirmation on an install date other than "Maybe Monday or Tuesday."
