This was the best place to come. I called a few places around here and this was the best deal. I needed spare keys for a filing cabinet. Other places wanted to charge me close to $30 a key while this was affordable and about $11 for two keys. The service was good and they were really nice. I came int, it took about 7 minutes and I was done. I'll be coming here for all my lock/keys needs. read more

Foster Brothers - YOU'RE AMAZING! The place is easy to find and there's plenty of parking. I had to get a tricky key made for one of our office cabinets and they were so helpful and kind over the phone. I came in to give them a sample of what the key looks like and they were able to do it in less than 5 minutes! You definitely walk out feeling taken cared of. They will definitely be my go to place from now on! read more

It's nice to find a place with knowledgeable employees. I've also never waited long for a simple key and been pleased that they've done more complicated keys for me (I just come back the next day). Pricing is fair as well. read more

I was looking for rekeying options for our new condo lock. I went by the store and Mike was of great help. He request some pictures of the existing lock which I texted to him when I went back to the condo. He was very quick to look up the details and give me the options. Very nice to deal with. Their service person came and rekeyed the lock a couple days later. Excellent service. I highly recommend them. At no point we felt pressure to do something we didn't need or wasn't right for us. read more

Been going here for 30 years and their customer service is going downhill fast. They don't seem to value the SV local anymore. On one visit they needed to make a call and said they'd call me back. After a week, I called them. The guy doing the work for was out but they promised to have him call me back ASAP. Never happened so I had to go to the store in person. On my last visit I waited patiently while they helped another customer and when they finished, the dude went to the back room and started answering the phone. I was never acknowledged or told they'd be with me soon. I left the store and don't plan to return. Too bad as they used to be reliable and friendly. read more

This is one of my favorite business because they always guarantee the best service. They always take care of me and have me in and out. Mike is always great and I appreciate that they have been around for so long. This will remain the best locksmith and security I trust in the Bay Area hands down! read more

Went today to duplicate a couple house keys and was able to get them made instantly. Extremely fast service and at a great price. Excellent and professional service, definitely will visit again in the future. read more

I can't believe the great customer service from the first call till the work is done. Any staff coming to my home is so professional and knowledgeable of what they're there for. I can't imagine using any other company for security needs than Foster Brothers. I've been using them for years and won't go anywhere else. read more

Needed to duplicate my car keys, others couldn't do it but this place did it. Works fine and no issues so far.

Incredible company. They helped me with my locks and recommended the best smart lock for my Airbnb. Great family owned and family runner company. Best prices with the best people. read more

These guys are awesome. Always friendly, funny and great at what they do. Even though it's a little out of the way for me over other locksmiths in the area, I prefer coming back to this crew. read more

Great service & selection of keys. I came in to get duplicates of my mailbox key & the staff took care of everything in 10 minutes.

Wow!! What an honest, helpful, courteous and respectful group of folks. From the jump, researching and telling me how to save money (alternatives that would take business away from them) to giving me advice on how to do easy fixes/replacement for my car remote so I wouldn't waste money needlessly. By the way, waiting in line, they treated another customer with the same respect and she left very happy. Glad I found them!! read more

Needed a duplicate key made for Pops. I ok googled & Foster Bro's Security Systems pulled up. Walked in & not 2 minutes later I'm in my truck! FAST SERVICE! Locking this place in now read more

Foster Brothers rocks! We lost a key to a decorative file cabinet in our office and needed a second key. Because the key is a pre-fab it can't be cut, and because we didn't know the manufacturer on the furniture we were pretty much at a dead end. Did I mention, this is a matched set of heavy hard wood furniture and not easily replaceable? The guys at Foster Brothers searched their catalogues and found the key! They ordered it for us and presto! Success! Without their help, knowledge and willingness to go the extra mile we'd be at a loss in so many ways. Thank you guys...you have our praises, recommendations and business! read more

I called FB today and explained the latch on the sliding door not being able to click to lock. The manager paged his staff and within an hour, luckily, Chris showed up. Very professional, and replaced and fixed the problem within 30 minutes. Then I asked Chris if he could rekey the front door, which he did in less than 10 minutes. FB is very prompt and professional. The service fee is very reasonable. I have used others before, but FB has impressed me so far. I would definitely recommend FB. J, read more

I purchased a used vehicle which only came with one key. The dealer wanted $185 to cut and program a new one since it has a transponder. 5 Minutes at Foster Brothers and I was out the door with a working key and saved myself $100. Can't beat that. read more

I had one remaining key for a '97 Honda Prelude with 210k miles and wanted to get some extras made. This key has a transponder. I did a little research online and found that what the dealers want to do is a complete reset of the key memory in the car and reprogram the car to accept all the keys you have in your possession, and charge you hundreds of dollars to do so. That is if they don't try to sell you a whole new ignition system since you don't have the magic red learning key. I didn't need any of that, just wanted a couple of extra keys. So I ordered a couple of T5 blanks online and figured I'd get a local shop to cut and program them. I found Foster's here on Yelp and called. They said they couldn't guarantee working keys because they use a specific blank that they know works. But I took my blanks in anyway and for $15 they cut and programmed one to try it out. I would have thrown it away if it didn't work and gotten one of their blanks cut and progrtammed. But... it works perfectly! Got the other one done the same way. 10 minutes, $30, and I have a new pair of keys. I should have just come here in the first place. It would have been $25 each for their blank, cut, and program, even slightly less than what I ended up paying in total. read more

Got a really strong but compact $400 safe for 20% off from Mike. Good guys over here who know what they are talking about when it comes to quality safes and security. read more

This place is awesome--awesome ppl and awesome service! It's actually kinda outta the way for me, but all these 5 star reviews told me it'll be worth the time. Turns out it is! Long story short, it turns out that my lock is a little old so the first and second key they made didnt work (i tried it out right outside the shop). But one of the staff just kept working at it and insisted that he'd get it to work--and after a couple minutes, boom problem solved! and with no extra charge! I'll definitely come back here for any key/lock problems! you guys are awesome! read more

Foster Brothers has a fine selection of products and very helpful staff. I was looking for high-security locks and was informed that while they do sell Medeco, they have a several week turnaround time. It didn't work for me as I needed new locks ASAP, but if I ever have a longer time window I'm sure to call them. read more

Super fast, super convenient, showed up same day to retrofit a door lock mechanism. Fair price, friendly and professional.

Went in to copy a key for my bike (Kawasaki Ninja 250). Done in less than 10 mins!

LOVE Foster Brothers!!! Always reliable, always friendly, always super responsive and I couldn't love them more. Awesome staff!!!!!

I didn't buy anything here, but this is the place for locks and keys! The people were friendly and seemed to have good knowledge regarding security systems. They were also selling decent Residential Security Containers. read more

No way could I duplicate new trunk and ignition keys for my 1962 Chrysler Newport. Thought about Foster Brothers, as they had saved me once before. And, sure enough - they saved me once again. Professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Thanks read more

I called first and they answered quickly. I explained my needs for key copies that were unusual and they felt confident they could accommodate. I arrived at the store and was quickly greeted despite a customer infant of me (nice). My keys were replicated with a price quote before starting. My special request was then accommodated at no extra charge as the specialist removed most of the key grip so it would fit into a tight space. I'm very happy with the pricing and the service. read more

Did key replication twice there. The blank key were hard to find. But they did it patiently. The price is so reasonable (or unreasonably cheap). It may very well be one of the last honest classic small businesses in Silicon Valley. read more

They're fast, nice, and affordable. I had a motorcycle key cut here for my Honda. They carry blanks without the Honda logo (I'm fine with that, especially since I'm sure that makes them less expensive.) The guy behind the counter eyed my key, said "I've seen that" and hunted down the right blank from their huge wall of keys. Clearly, they know their stuff. 5 minutes, $6 + tax, and I had a spare key ready. read more

I've used Foster Brothers through the years for many things...lost keys to a safe, needing a key made to an ancient guitar case, combo lock resetting, and other mishaps. They always quickly come through for me while I wait in the shop. This place has been around for a long time and it's easy to see why. I came here as a kid with my dad and it's the only place I'll go with my lock/key needs! Thanks guys! read more

The front door lockset wasn't working with the key. I took pictures and described the situation in an email and Jeff from Foster Brothers called within 30 minutes. Told me exactly what the problem was and how to fix it myself. I was able to. I will go back to them in a heartbeat if I need future work done or door set replacement! Thank you Jeff! read more

I was referred to Foster Brothers about 2 years ago by Home Depot, of all places. I had some keys that apparently used some weird blanks and none of the hardware stores around could help me. Since then I've come back a handful of times with odd keys and they literally have EVERYTHING! And these guys are super quick and super nice as well! read more

I needed a lock opened quickly and someone was at my house helping me get back into my garage within 10 minutes. He then rekeyed the lock so that I wouldn't get locked out again. Great service! read more

They are very service oriented. Last week I ran into the store at 4:40 pm to get help as I was locked out of the house. John came over as soon as he closed the store at 5:00 and worked over an hour gain entry. It was raining and he remained pleasant and calm. My husband has used their services for years when he needed something for work or home. The keys they have made for us always work, unlike other chain stores. read more
