This was the best place to come. I called a few places around here and this was the best deal. I needed spare keys for a filing cabinet. Other places wanted to charge me close to $30 a key while this was affordable and about $11 for two keys. The service was good and they were really nice. I was looking for rekeying options for our new condo lock. I went by the store and Mike was of great help. He request some pictures of the existing lock which I texted to him when I went back to the condo. He was very quick to look up the details and give me the options. Very nice to deal with. Been going here for 30 years and their customer service is going downhill fast. They don't seem to value the SV local anymore. On one visit they needed to make a call and said they'd call me back. After a week, I called them. The guy doing the work for was out but they promised to have him call me back ASAP. Never happened so I had to go to the store in person. On my last visit I waited patiently while they helped another customer and when they finished, the dude went to the back room and started answering the phone. I called FB today and explained the latch on the sliding door not being able to click to lock. The manager paged his staff and within an hour, luckily, Chris showed up. I had one remaining key for a '97 Honda Prelude with 210k miles and wanted to get some extras made. This key has a transponder. I did a little research online and found that what the dealers want to do is a complete reset of the key memory in the car and reprogram the car to accept all the keys you have in your possession, and charge you hundreds of dollars to do so. That is if they don't try to sell you a whole new ignition system since you don't have the magic red learning key. I didn't need any of that, just wanted a couple of extra keys. So I ordered a couple of T5 blanks online and figured I'd get a local shop to cut and program them. I found Foster's here on Yelp and called. They said they couldn't guarantee working keys because they use a specific blank that they know works. But I took my blanks in anyway and for $15 they cut and programmed one to try it out. I would have thrown it away if it didn't work and gotten one of their blanks cut and progrtammed. But... it works perfectly! Got the other one done the same way. 10 minutes, $30, and I have a new pair of keys. I should have just come here in the first place. It would have been $25 each for their blank, cut, and program, even slightly less than what I ended up paying in total. read more

Long story short, it turns out that my lock is a little old so the first and second key they made didnt work (i tried it out right outside the shop). But one of the staff just kept working at it and insisted that he'd get it to work--and after a couple minutes, boom problem solved! and with no extra charge! I called first and they answered quickly. I explained my needs for key copies that were unusual and they felt confident they could accommodate. I arrived at the store and was quickly greeted despite a customer infant of me (nice). My keys were replicated with a price quote before starting. My special request was then accommodated at no extra charge as the specialist removed most of the key grip so it would fit into a tight space. They're fast, nice, and affordable. I had a motorcycle key cut here for my Honda. They carry blanks without the Honda logo (I'm fine with that, especially since I'm sure that makes them less expensive.) The guy behind the counter eyed my key, said "I've seen that" and hunted down the right blank from their huge wall of keys. About a year ago, I bought 2 schlage deadbolts from here, and worked with them to have a contractor come out and install the locks within the week. I'd found them because I was looking to get medeco locks, but apparently there's a pretty long lead time. Anyway, the staff and contractor were all really friendly. Unfortunately one of the deadbolts kept jamming, until last week when the key finally refused to turn at all, and I had to take the cylinder to the shop. Again super helpful staff, the dude took like 5 minutes to clean the cylinder, then explained why there's a little resistance to the key turning. Also gave me some graphite to lubricate the lock with, for free! I haven't been to any other locksmiths, but this place has pretty good service. read more
