Not only is Pelican Harbor indoor water park humongous and perfect for all levels of swimming, staff is incredibly friendly and prices are beyond reasonable!!! Even if you're not a Bolingbrook resident, if you sign up early enough, you can get 6-8 swimming lesson sessions for about $8 per lesson. I currently have both my children in Parkie's Starfish Swim School (ages 3-8) and each lesson is 40 minutes long. At private swim schools (Bear Paddle, Goldfish, British Swim School), lessons for that age group are 30 minutes long and almost 3 times as much per lesson! One thing to keep in mind are that many of the instructor are VERY young (probably high school-early college age). One of my kids is a newly minted 3 year old and doesn't listen very well at times (my kid just wants to play around in the water). I think the teacher had a hard time instructing in the beginning, but she doesn't give up and spoke to me about methods to "speed up" the progression as well as boundaries I may have. I appreciated that because I can only imagine how hard it is to teach young children who would rather play than learn. Parkie's Starfish Swim School has several levels starting from White (never having a swim lesson before) and ending in Green (able to swim on side, can freestyle 30 feet with rhythmic breathing). Levels Red-Yellow-Blue are in between. After mastering green, they can move to Parkie's Starfish Stroke School, perfecting all the strokes with longer distances as well as flips and open turns. They also have Parkie's Babies Swim Lesson for babies (ages 3-36 months). Overall I highly recommend Bolingbrook Park District for swim lessons. It's extremely affordable, the indoor swimming facility is very impressive and staff is so nice. I love that I can bring my kids here year-round instead of just summers. I know I'll continue bringing my kids here for years to come!

I have been doing this since last year, then one of the personnel walked up to me last month after their class whiles practicing and asked if I was a member which I answered no. She then said, you can stay if you are a member but if not then get out". I got my kids ready after we were done then asked her what was their policy for after class, she said, you are able to stay till 15 minutes after the swimming class. I called the manager of the place and reported this incidence. Will I take my kids back there? NO!!! Staff should have the respect for people who patronize them and not disrespect them.The staff should have explained their policy because this same staff if there every day I take my kids to this place. She was out right rude and disrespectful! They just lost two customers.

I am really satisfied with Premier West. I see that some people think the coaches are hard on the kids, but I don't really see that. I think they could push my daughter a little more. She was often getting bored not being pushed to challenge herself or learn something new. I am glad to say that the coaches did notice this as well and pushed her up into the next class level before I was able to bring it up to them. She is much happier in her new class level and is being challenged to meet new goals. They are also very nice to the girls. My daughter loves her coach and is excited to see her every week. The gym is busy with people. So that must show that they are doing something right. Premier offers many class options and they have reasonable sized classes. The classes are not too large where kids get over looked. We searched the local area for other options before picking Premier and for the price, this is the best place by far. They allow you to make up classes if you miss, many other places don't do that. So your child can take a break if needed and not fall behind, plus you never really feel like your money is wasted when you miss a class.

We've been to the pool over a half dozen times since just moving in the end of last month. The stair rail needs some reinforcement and there is a leak in the women's bathroom that seems to have someone checking into. As for the Lifeguards, they do a good job which was evident on Friday night when their job was put to the test and a child's life was saved shortly after we left for the evening. For those who say, Guards are a waste of money, I for one as a parent, grandparent and former swim team member appreciate their service. We can't always have our eyes everywhere when it comes to our kids, of any age! There are still adults out there that don't know how to swim and some of then have children. It only takes a tablespoon of water to drown, a wrong move in a game of catch or whatever to lose your balance and be the victim. Lifeguards are money well spent!

When I questioned it, I was told, "It's only a $50 difference, and if you can't afford it, we can unenroll them." That response was hurtful and unprofessional. Tuition is over $1,600/month for toddlers and increased again starting July, yet the meals provided are minimal, often just half a Nutri-Grain bar and faucet water. Parents also have to pay out of pocket for anything extra, making it hard to see where the high tuition is going. Despite the high cost, my son struggled during his kindergarten readiness test, unable to count to 20 or say his ABCs, basic skills I expected him to learn. I've since withdrawn him from the center. I cannot recommend this location. The care and education do not match the price parents are paying.

I am super impressed!…read more This is going to be a long winded review. Let me start off by saying my 11 year old daughter has done competitive cheer for 4 or 5 years. The team she was on was good but never won the super big competitions. My daughter was discouraged so much that she wanted to stop cheer. We offered to switch teams but she said she wanted to try something else. She loves to dance as well as gymnastics/tumbling so we investigated some dance schools in the area. A year or so ago while she was still doing cheer we signed her up for a recreational class at Xtreme so she could try it out. She enjoyed it very much so we decided to sign her up for one of their more competitive teams this season. She wanted to try out for company but we didn't know how that would go since she was new, we didn't know if there were politics that may keep a new student from making one of the higher level teams or if she was even good enough to make the team. We explained to our daughter not to get her hopes up, however when the time came she made it all the way up on the Gold Level team, she was ecstatic! Xtreme has many different levels which will probably cater to most all skill levels from beginner to advanced. Now that we are five months into this season and completed two regional competitions I can leave an honest review...my review is that Xtreme is awesome! My daughter's team won her first competition and took 2nd in her second competition but that doesn't tell the whole story. Xtreme wins everything, well not literally everything but almost lol. In the overall scoring they took 1st overall and had three teams in the top five. During the awards all you hear the announcer saying is "Xtreme Dance Force, Xtreme Dance Team" over and over as different Xtreme teams/lines win. When my daughter did competitive cheer there were always those two or three teams that always seemed to win everything, well it appears Xtreme is one of those schools/teams that win almost everything and our daughter couldn't be happier to be a part of it. Staff and teachers seem great. Being our first year my wife and I always have lots of questions, the staff probably wants to strangle us sometimes but they're always very helpful and friendly. My daughter says the teachers are all very nice and encouraging. She's already taking about next year and wanting to do more dances and try out jazz and lyrical next season. I'd highly recommend Xtreme whether you're looking for just recreational dance instruction or highly competitive levels of dance for your child.
