Overall it was a good experience. I only got a hair cut but it was a lot that came off. The atmosphere was great, had some older ish music but was upbeat and fun. I had a hard time not moving to the music. The instructors were nice and fun and my gal was very nice. My mom got hers done there at the same time and loves it and loved her gal to. My only problem is that even though I was about 10 minutes late to my appt it still took over 2 hours and I only say that because I almost only get my hair cut at schools because it's a great chance for the students (being a former hands on student for baking program it's important!) and haven't had it take that long. But I will be back when I ever need a hair cut.

I got my hair dyed here and it turned out horribly. I called and asked them to fix it and they did happily with no questions asked and no charge. I'm happy with the results but was so shocked about how bad that first time was. Make sure you research your students before you go!

I came in for a black and silver ombré and was told that they wouldn't be able to accomplish that in 1 sitting. We talked and we agreed on a black and the light brown balayage using 30 vol. and plastic wrap instead of foil. My results came out wonderful but the student I had wasn't satisfied with the color. She told me she would like to reschedule for a reservice and that she can get it a blonde/ dirty blonde balayage on our 2nd appointment. I agreed and came back in 2 days later. She began rebleaching my hair and used foil and 40 vol. She placed me on the heat for about 20-30 minutes with foil. My foils began puffing and she finally brought the instructor to check. The instructor told her to immediately take me off the heat and let the foil sit without heat. The student was making odd faces and shaking her head but told me everything was going good. She then told me she was going to check on me in 10 minutes and turned around and began gossiping to the other students around us. I looked up and saw all the students gossiping, staring, and shaking their heads at me making me embarrassed and uncomfortable. She turned back around after 10 minutes checked my hair and said "it looks good" she left again and brought the instructor. She took out the bottom half of my foils and washed it off. I then went back to the chair and had to get up a few minutes later to take the rest of the foils out. She constantly repeated " your hair did not like what we did." She continued to put products into my hair and carried on working. She never told me anything was wrong with my hair just that it was lifting nicely. I was told I can't touch my hair or do anything with it for a looong time. She told me I needed to do lots of hair treatments and brush ONLY with a wide tooth comb when it's completely dry. I asked what products she recommended for my hair treatments she suggested anything will work. She then told me that she would be unable to dry or style my hair because my hair was not happy that I did that. I got home with soaking wet hair and I moved it out of my face to find a chunk of my hair in my hand. My hair is the texture of stringy over stretched gum. It falls out to the touch and it's all because my hair was not happy with what I did to it.

I had one of the worst salon experiences at Evergreen Beauty College in Renton. In the…read moreconsultation, both the student stylist and the instructor told me they could dye my hair brown. No limitations were mentioned. I spent five hours in the chair. My hair was bleached (they called it "lightening," which was misleading) so harshly that it became dry, brittle, and broke off in places. It was then dyed two separate times, further damaging and both times the color was completely wrong. I left with bright orange hair instead of the brown I requested. The instructor was extremely sassy and blamed me for the results throughout the process. The student and instructor argued openly in front of me about what to do. Behind the instructor's back, the student repeatedly said the instructor didn't know what she was talking about when it came to the color. I later learned from a professional who fixed my hair that Evergreen puts absolute beginners with no hands-on experience on the salon floor, but advertises them as if they are near the end of their program. The student who worked on my hair had never done this on a real person before -- only book work. This was not disclosed to me before the service. At the end, they charged me $90 for severely damaged hair in the wrong color. The service was unprofessional, misleading, and damaging. I am requesting a full refund and do not recommend Evergreen Beauty College to anyone who values the health of their hair or expects honest disclosure about who will be working on them. Edit: they left my bleach on for an hour and a half as well. No instructor or stylist in sight the whole time they left me at the heater.

Big thumbs up for our experience at the Centralia Beauty College!…read more My two boys needed to get their hair cut and we'd been looking and searching around at places around the area that we felt comfortable with, would do a good job, and not charge an arm and a leg. I decided to call the Beauty College and got the scoop from the very helpful receptionist and decided to book their appointments. I am very glad we did. From the start, I asked and the receptionist helped me schedule both boys at the same time with side-by-side stylists that were good with kids and during a time of day that wasn't too busy (knowing that a louder and busier time would be way too overwhelming for the kids). We had Nicole and Kenzie as our stylists and both did a great job with the cuts. They were patient, kind, and took their time with the cut and made sure things were okay as they went along. They listens to me as I explained what type of cut we were wanting and to look at the sample pictures that I brought. The boys liked them both too, and said that they felt comfortable and would be good with going back to them again. The prices are great there as well. They have a tiered pricing scale depending on the level of the stylist (Level 1 is the least expensive and experienced stylist and it works up to a Level 5). Nicole and Kenzie were Level 2 (they will undoubtedly move up the scale as they work) and charge just $15 for a cut - and it was 10% off for kids. I'll certainly schedule the boys again and would recommend you give them a shot too. They offer a full slate of services, so check out my picture of their service list for other salon services that you might be needing.
