Yesterday, I drove up and down the streets to see if I could find the front door that matched the front door area in the picture provided by FedEx. Surprisingly! I found the front door down the street. These are neighbors we've known for ten years. The wife showed us a thieving "porch pirate" coming up to their door that same day the package was delivered in the evening in a SUV style or truck with a cab on back of truck and with his face covered, quickly walked up and snatched the package. I have tried to update FedEx since yesterday morning about this information I describe in this posting, and I am stuck in the process by FedEx of waiting for a callback from FedEx after they look into this matter further. I am dismayed that I get this jerk around response from FedEx. All I wanted to do next was have that FedEx delivery person who delivered our package to the wrong address come by me door so I can show him the videos from the home down the street showing how the package was stolen off their front door and, of course, I would like to describe the bullshit we are going through because he did a shitty job with the delivery. I have never heard one person say anything good about Fed Ex and when I see that my expected package is being shipped with Fed Ex, I know that there are going to be problems. All provided us with excellent service and fruitful conversation. We were amazed with Maury who is from Guinea. We learned that he speaks his native language (French) and English. He said where he's from English & French are spoken. There are numerous people who can barely speak English. Bravo Maury and it's great to have you in the USA. Pleasant, well spoken, a gentleman and extremely strong. With his height he could be an NBA player. Then there is Hymie. Always a smile on his face despite doing heavy lifting and working diligently. He was the mechanic on hand and was there with his handy tools dismantling furniture, only to put them back together at our new apartment. While wife had taken the car to put gas in it, I told Hymie that the woman in 5he house would always change furniture arrangements around. When we arrived at the new place my wife began saying where she wanted everything to be placed. Hymie looked at me and smiled. He had been forewarned. The leader of this great team was none other than Anthony Wright, and his demeanor and joy was infectious. Always making certain his crew was working to our satisfaction. Then we started talking food, and there is truly not a more fun topic. We learned what he liked to eat as we told him we loved to cook. We've set a dinner date whenever our new nest is completed. Thank you Anthony, Maury & Hymie for treating our belongings with kit gloves and seeing us through the exhausting task of moving. A new neighbor shared the fact she was observing Maury & Hymie work and said they were the best team she's ever seen moving belongings, and being on the ground floor of the apartment complex, she's seen many movers. The…read moredudes weren't always super friendly and often smelled pretty bad, but they were always on time and never (in my recollection) screwed up a delivery. A couple times I had questions about charges on the invoice and the accounting guy was quick to sort things out. The phone dispatchers are way nicer than, say, the average person you talk to when calling a cab. Fleetfoot serves the greater Seattle area by bike, car and truck. Many delivery options available including same day, 2 hour, and Rush. Reasonable charges; you can set up an account or make it a one time deal; they accept cash, card, or check. I think they can actually deliver anywhere in the state, just not in one hour! Orders can be placed ahead of time or as needed. They will deliver just about anything (including sealed alcoholic beverages) except meals, hazardous/illegal materials, precious gems and framed artwork. Regular hours of operation are M - F 7:30am - 5:30pm but after hours deliveries can be arranged. Some of my fondest memories of having an office job are from watching the punk bike messengers and suit - clad businessmen eyeing each other warily in the elevator . Good times. These guys are probably more honest than your average businessman, so for all your courier needs I highly recommend Fleetfoot.
