This place is gross. Hair in the food. And the workers walk around high on drugs. Do not come to at all.

My drugged out server didn't even care to take care of my hair inflicted meal. This place is fiery disgusting. And absolutely not worth whatever cheap low price they request for you to pay. DO NOT. IF U CARE ABOUT UR HEALTH COME HERE

There is an extremely large selection of food, both Asian & American. Dumplings, Asian soups, fried rice, of course. Potatoes , on the cob, green beans, even ice cream & sherbet. The service is efficient & polite. Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves & the food.

Fortune Star has a full menu but are most noted for their Buffet. I dined there for the first time with a large group, almost everyone chose the Buffet. There is a huge variety of food available on the all you can eat buffet, from appetizers, to entrees, to desserts. Food was hot and nicely prepared. Our sever was friendly and easily accommodated our separate check request for 16 people. Nice place. I would seek this place out again if I was hosting a large group.

Well, either something else in the food acts like a "nut" or they just don't actually know what's in their ingredients. Good thing UPMC East is just up the road, as I had to rush my daughter to the ER. I can't blame the restaurant fully, as I should have done a little more in-depth research on Indian cuisine, and there was definitely a communication problem! I'm not a negative person, so now that I've said the above warning, I will say the food was delicious. I asked for a spicier version of chicken curry, you know, where your lips burn, but in a good way, and you just cant wait for the next bite! Definitely quality ingredients (and I'm betting they use cashew flour as a thickening agent)! The restaraunt is very clean. I would give the food a 4 out of 5. My daughter liked her rice, and honestly, had it not been for the required Emergency Room visit, she would have gave the place a 3!

We tried the spaghetti aglio e olio, alfredo with shrimp and chicken Marsala. They were exceptionally delicious! My mom the matriarch, myself and my very Irish guy who loves Italian food too stopped at Shrodi's for an early dinner. Yes, I've been seeing the many posts and comments on social media. Yes, I know the very long family history and know the infamous shrodi from his restaurant back in the good ol' days. So that is my prelude to this dining experience today. We walked in and were greeted by Natalie who also lucky for us was our fabulous server. Italian. Authentic. Tradition History What is better than a quaint stone restaurant with a Basil garden thriving as you walk up? Well, a family tradition and staff who all welcome you as family .. yes, we know the family history of Shrodi. The menu was plentiful and the selections took much time to choose and with the outstanding help of Natalie we made our picks! What is cool is my mom is not a big eater anymore and chose off the senior menu which is very clever to have available and still had enough leftovers for lunch today. The stuffed banana peppers with Sunday sauce were amazing. Three served generously and one went home! Veal piccata was delish with a nice zest of lemon. Large portions! House salad with their house dressing to add according to our taste. Many kalamata Olives. Cherry tomatoes Fresh mushrooms. And freshest mixed greens Our Irishman picked his favorite penne with vodka sauce. It was the best he's ever had. And he's super picky. I have to agree! The added prosciutti and seasonings were truly mouth watering. The chef is masterful in the kitchen and believe me, every mouth watering taste was worth the wait! Natalie was fabulous and attentive to us from hello to see you again soon goodbye. Everyone waved goodbye as we left. Oh I forgot to mention they are making a bocce court out back to really add to its authentic Italian tradition and flair. It's a little bit of Heaven tucked away in Penn Hills! Do not pass it up!

The event space accommodated about 12 tables (8 seats per table), and they had a full house for the event. There is also a seperate bar and some booth seating in that space. We attended their Friday Jazz session and the music was amazing. The music was flowing nonstop with a brief 20-minute intermission. We enjoyed their featured artist. They also offered a limited menu during the event, so we decided to give it a try. They are a soul food-based restaurant, so they have many southern and seafood options. I got lamb chops with mac and cheese and yams. My partner got crab cakes and Caesar salad. My partner said the caesar salad had red onions in it; however, it was one of the best he ever had. The dressing was homemade and the onions brought out the taste. His crab cakes were shaped like a patty, versus a jumbo lump crab cake, but with decent taste. He said the remoulade sauce kinda overpowered the crab, but was enjoyable. My lamb chops were tender and served medium to mid-well. The sauce on top was Carolina BBQ, which was ok, I would have just preferred the meat to be seasoned vs. sauce. The baked mac & cheese was delicious. It was very cheesy and you can taste the different cheeses. My yams were ok, but I prefer them to be a tad sweet for more of a candied flavor. The cornbread muffin was good soft and flakey, but not like the southern cornbread I'm used to. Perhaps if they had some honey butter or cinnamon butter to top it, it would complement the muffin very well. Overall, my experience was decent. They have a nice extensive menu and I would like to return to try some new items. They constantly have events like jazz, taco Tuesday, karaoke, brunch, etc, so I will definitely return.

Nothing we ate wasn't five stars, everything came out hot and tasted fresh. Food prices are steep but drink prices are amazing, so the balance works out perfectly. Can't give five stars just yet. The service was attentive and friendly, but, generally, really slow, the food took about 30 minutes but dessert took over an hour. The menu is robust but includes no appetizer/appetizer priced options so you do risk getting very hungry waiting for made to order. Bottom line the food tastes exquisite and the experience has all the feel of a new place with new staff (miscommunication, issue with our check etc.). All that being said, I think these are definitely issues that can improve with time to get this place to five stars and the food is definitely good enough to wait for!

India Garden is now the last surviving authentic North Indian Punjabi restaurant in Pittsburgh. Don't get me wrong--there are many fantastic Indian restaurants in Pittsburgh. But after the change of ownership of Taj Mahal (in Pittsburgh & Bridgeville, PA), most other restaurants are purveyors of non-Punjabi Indian food (eg Gujarati Indian, Udipi South Indian, Goan Indian, Bengali Indian etc.) The only Indian restaurant that features a North Indian Punjabi chef (the aforementioned husband-wife duo) is India Garden. I recommend all their breads, especially the tava-cooked Aloo Paratha and Plain Paratha. Make sure you ask for the Paratha to be cooked on Tava (Indian pan) and not the Tandoor oven. I find all their naans delicious but my favorites are the their butter naan & garlic naan. Their chicken reshmi kabab appetizer is especially noteworthy. They serve it on an aesthetically pleasing bed of vegetables including peppers. But that only tends to distract from the tenderness & flavoring of the kebab meat. Their sarson-ka-saag (mix of mustard leaves with other leafy veggies) is simply outstanding. Pair it with the plain paratha or Makki-ki-roti (Punjabi flatbread made from finely ground corn flour). And ask for their home-made butter on the side. Unlike other Indian restaurants they provide Indian pickle either free (with paratha) or at a nominal charge. One other pairing we like is their version of Indian scrambled eggs (Bhurji) with Plain Paratha. Other reviewers have favorably reviewed their other dishes (chicken, lamb etc). And I agree wholeheartedly: they are all delicious. As for Ambiance: it's quite acceptable. What makes this restaurant stand out is the freshness of ingredients and above all, the love with which the food is made. You taste that love with every morsel you eat. Kudos to the owners for maintaining the high standards of Indian flavors & freshness in their food. Oh, and by the way, the Indian pickle they serve is also house made and not out of a jar bought at some Indian grocery store. And if you new to Indian food, feel free to ask the owners for advice. They won't steer you wrong.
