Menu pt. 2

I'm baffled by how this restaurant has managed to accumulate a 3.3-star rating, but I can confidently say I won't be returning. Initially, I was enticed to try this restaurant because it was within walking distance from my home, and the reviews hinted at a delightful culinary experience, particularly raving about the house fried rice and walnut shrimp. After some consideration, I decided to give them a shot. When I called to place my order, I requested both dishes. However, I quickly realized that it might be more food than I actually needed. Unsure if the walnut shrimp came with a side of rice, I called back for clarification. The person on the other end of the line answered my question with a noticeable hint of frustration and then abruptly hung up on me while muttering, "It should only take you 5 minutes to order." Quite shocking! Despite the horrible customer service, my hunger persisted, and I was still eager to try the food since I had already placed my order. Upon my arrival, I entered the restaurant and greeted the staff with a friendly hello, but they barely returned the sentiment with a mumbled acknowledgement. At this point, I clung to the hope that the food would redeem the lackluster service, especially given the restaurant's decent rating. Unfortunately, that was not the case. **Walnut Shrimp | 1.5/10** The shrimp was a major letdown--far from fresh, it had an unpleasant, fishy odor and taste that I couldn't ignore. The only redeeming aspect of the whole dish was the walnuts, which were quite nice. For $11.95, it was an absolute waste, and I found myself tossing the entire plate into the trash. I would have loved to request a refund, but something tells me this establishment wouldn't be accommodating in that regard. **House Fried Rice | 4.5/10** This dish was exceedingly greasy, and the quality of the beef left much to be desired--it was cheap and uncomfortably chewy. To make matters worse, the same shrimp that had tarnished the walnut shrimp made an unwelcome appearance here as well, leaving the fried rice tasting and smelling similarly fishy. Overall, it was definitely not worth the price, and my recommendation is to seek out another place altogether. ***BEWARE OF THIS RESTAURANT'S INFLATED RATING!*** P.S. The bubble tea counter that shares the same space does add a cute aesthetic to an otherwise uninspired storefront. P.P.S. I highly recommend trying the tea shop--it's a hidden gem that I won't hesitate to review soon!

Good food, fast service and excellent prices. I don't go to Panda Express I go here every time I want Chinese food!

This place right off main street easy to find, small inside shared with a boba shop. Friendly service and food is good with decent prices! They give you a big portion for your buck.

Top to bottom: Mongolian Beef, Honey Walnut Prawns, Sesame Chicken, Broccoli Beef, Egg Fried Rice, Beef Chow Fun

I am a beef chow fun addict and when I need my fix Fortune Cookie is what I crave. It's definitely my go-to spot in Fremont. The food is always excellent and the service is kind and FAST. Whenever our family has something to celebrate, we order from Fortune Cookie because it's always a treat! Our must haves: -beef chow fun -house chow mein -Mongolian beef -sesame chicken (with garlic added) -salt and pepper fish The only downside is that I always crave it the hardest on Tuesdays when they're closed!

Fortune Cookie is a little Fremont gem across the street from Washington High School. So far I've had the pork fried rice (lots of char siu morsels), hot and sour soup (perfectly vinegary) amd the garlic pork in szechuan sauce with fried rice. All tasty, flavorful and piping hot off the order. The prices are pretty reasonable. This is now my go to fast food Chinese place in the area. While I waited I ordered a drink from Royal Tea (shared space not sure if same owner or not). I had the matcha tea with red beans. So good. Go check it out.

Decent Chinese food, I wouldn't say the best I've had but not bad at all. Will definitely be back. Great customer service. Minimal seated area but very sticky as they share a storefront with a tea place, we took our food to go and enjoyed it at home. Big portions, fair pricing, I would give this place a try for sure if you are in the area.

Broccoli beef with fried rice

DECENT DELIVERY When you have an hour for lunch you need food as fast as you can. You also hope the deep fried items you buy remain crispy. That could be very difficult because of the take-out containers may keep the food warm but might steam, which can cause the breading to become soft. About a month ago while I was working at home I ordered broccoli beef with fried rice and sweet and sour pork to be delivered for lunch. To my delight surprise the breading on the sweet and sour pork remained crispy. The rest of the items were tasty for a quick lunch. The portions were big enough that I couldn't finish all the items for lunch and ate the rest of them for dinner. Last Wednesday I two items to be delivered - Mongolian beef with fried rice and orange chicken. Unfortunately the breading on the orange chicken was soggy yet the item still remained delicious. I enjoyed the Mongolian beef more than broccoli beef as it has more flavor. Overall if you want quick Chinese food for lunch I recommend Fortune Cookie. However if you have an urge for breaded, deep-fried item I would order the sweet and sour pork.

Mel J.

I ordered house fried rice, snow peas chicken, and shrimp egg foo yong. For its price, the portion was pretty good. The house fried rice had lots of meat but it was too salty. The snow peas chicken was good. Shrimp foo yong was fluffy and good. Taste-wise, they were okay, but nothing special. If you prefer quantity over quality, this might be okay. Fortune cookie shared the same unit as Royal Tea boba. Parking is very limited but you can park along Fremont Blvd.

Though I prefer my food a little bit more flavorful, Ping's Bistro really shot every single flavor up. The Steamed pork belly with preserved vegetables was served first, and without a doubt, is one of the spiciest. It's a good size for sharing, but the preserved vegetables on the bottom was mushy and came in a very small portion. Though supposed to be a part of the dish, seemed to be thrown in just for some extra flavor. Though I selected mild spiciness for the Spicy Boiled Fish, it was still REALLY spicy. Maybe it's my spice intolerance, but this dish lights a fire in your mouth. Also, this dish is mala, so it numbs your mouth. Some people may enjoy this sensation, but it's a pass for me. The fish was really soft and tender though. The fish was my favorite part of the Spicy Boiled Fish. Not only there is fish underneath, it was surprising to see other ingredients like lotus, vermicelli noodles, and much more. The salted egg covered pork was extremely salty and oily. I was surprised to know it was boneless, and I felt like the salted egg crust is too thin, which let the taste of the pork overthrow any type of salted egg taste. The Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus was again one of my preferred dishes, though it was extremely oily. I really liked the egg, black fungus, and bell peppers in this dish. The eggs and black fungus were soaked with flavor and the bell peppers balanced out the heaviness. The pork was also alright, but more on the tougher side. If you were to come to Ping's Bistro, I would advise you to order the Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus. The floors were really sticky, but other than that, everything was alright. The water was poured messily, but I guess it's no big thing. The staff were really quiet and avoided interaction. When they serve your dish, they never wait an extra second before they leave for any questions or requests. They just drop the dish and zoom away. From my review, just remember: saltiness. I'm not convinced that I'll come back again, but I'm glad I tried it out.

When you enter and get seated, you will be prompted to go on the url code at the table to pick your items. While I understand that this is the new way for restaurants to serve guests post-covid, the vast menu items you have to scroll through makes me long for physical menus of the past - but that's just my boomer take for the day. There were a bunch of other items like rice and noodle dishes that looked interesting to pair with the meats, but we were only craving bbq so we skipped out on the carbs. We ordered a BUNCH of skewers, from the standard beef, lamb, pork belly to chicken skin and a fried quail. All of the skewers had the same type of dried chili powder spice seasoning mix so unfortunately there wasn't too much of a diversity in flavor profile but on the flip side, it allowed us to focus more on enjoying the meat quality itself (this is where rice or noodles would definitely help cut through the richness). All of the meats were incredibly well-cooked and charred. It is on the drier side, so be aware if you are looking for a juicier, plumper cut of meat that some other restaurants have. Paired with the Chinese vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil, they were super delectable. My personal favorites were the pork belly, chicken skin, and beef. We had some leftovers to go and the staff provided us some extra sauce to go so that's a big plus. Great food here and definitely will be back to try more of the other menu items for the full experience.

They also respected my comment for mild spicy, and it was one of the only times I drank almost all the soup since I did not taste artificial powders or too much white pepper. I love the el dente texture of the noodles giving it a bit of chew. My braised pork belly dry noodles was not dry... very watery which was not to my liking. I want my dry noodles with as little gravy as possible. The flavor was light despite all the gravy, but the veggies and one egg made it up. The house special dry noodles had just the right amount of gravy for taste but not enough ingredients. I was wondering why the restaurant is called One Piece...
