The food is good and the portions are large and the price is nice. Definitely will be returning to eat here again

What a great little gem for Chinese food!! Small mom n pop shop, family business.. always a big supporter!! Small little shop, you can take to go or sit and eat. We ate inside, tables and chairs could be a little cleaner, wiped down. Only star I knocked off here. Food is delicious, fresh and hot!! It's a buffet style where you order your items. Plentiful in servings and portions. Reasonable prices and enough for leftovers Everyone has different tastes with Chinese food and can hold their own opinions when you give this place a try. We definitely recommend and will be adding this place to our gem collection of places to hold onto. Time to eat! Cheers

Came here again after years. Lo Mien 4/5: Great texture, thick, large portion. A little salty but great flavor! Orange chicken 4/5: Great flavor but something is missing. Maybe too sweet. But spicy oil helps! Kung Pao Chicken 4/5: Amazing flavors but not enough chicken. Overall better than average food. Definitely coming back and plenty of seating. Service is great, they are attentive and quick.

Today I visited Fortune Cookie Express for my Chinese New Years dinner, and to honor the memory of a friend who died way too young, who used to have lunch with me there on Wednesdays. Today I had some delicious sweet pork, chicken zucconi and mushrooms with fried rice and noodles as a 2 item combo. It came with a small fountain drink. This set me back about $15 then I added a egg drop soup for an additional 2 bucks. About what one would pay for an AYCE Chinese Buffet, but I got to keep my leftovers. My food was warm, the soup hot. The pork had hints of fat and a nice sweet sauce. It was fairly tender, with a few tough pieces. The chicken zucconi and mushrooms were well prepared and also had a pleasant sauce. The fried rice and the noodles were both good. Not the Best I ever had in my lifetime, but then I have been around for 70 years now. The young man that waited on me today was friendly and generous with the portions he scooped on my tray. I had pleanty leftover for a midnight snack. The one thing that deprived Fortune Cookie Express from a 4 star review was the fact that they had no restroom for customers. Seems to me if I recall correctly that fact and the fact they no longer give the Yelp check in eggrolls. I think I'll only return for takeout from now on.

Wonderful little buffet style Chinese restaurant. I've been coming here for years. The portion sizes are generous and very flavor full. I love that they offer a cup of chili oil at every table I put that stuff on everything! Their garlic jalapeno chicken wings are amazing when they are freshly made. The only draw back is that when there is a line of people waiting to order, the wait times can be a little excessive. But honestly, it is worth the wait sometimes. Whenever we are craving Chinese food this is definitely one of our go to spots here in Claremont.

We come here for dinner once a week. It is a buffet style restaurant. The portion sizes are generous. The quality is usually pretty good, although from time to time sometimes it's a little off because when it's slow the food usually sits out for awhile a gets a little stale. The only other con is that when it gets busy and there is a line you can expect to wait awhile to be served. But regardless I'd thise 2 cons we still come back!

Great for catering. Salt and pepper chicken wings were amazing, flavorful, and a crowd pleaser. Would definitely recommend!

The food here was pretty good. I would say about standard for similar concepts however love that it is locally owned and not a chain. The teriyaki wasn't the most flavorful but I LOVED the orange chicken. The service is great, super friendly and generous with portions. For the rising price of everything these days it was a pretty good deal $14 for a 2-combo with a drink. Casual atmosphere but definitely roomy enough to eat there if you please.

This is certainly not their specialty, and asking for extra cumin to sprinkle on the lamb did not redeem the firmness. The bell peppers in particular were seasoned spectacularly. 4.5/5 Dry fried green beans - a delicious option for vegetables to add to the table. Most people will enjoy this one in my opinion. A bit more crunch than I expected, which is not a bad thing. 4/5 Double cooked pork - I've never seen it cooked this way, and am not a fan. I'm used to a more oily version of this dish. It contained a bunch of dried and crunchy... yams? Potatoes? Overall, the dish was mainly crunch with no flavor, and contained a relatively small amount of pork. 1/5

Room for about 50 people. Vibes: Welcome to North Park, a lot of eateries and bars to hop around. It's a pretty hip place with constant traffic. The spot itself is Retro Chinese-American aesthetic with a modern twist. Think red lighting, plants, and a playlist that keeps the energy up. It's one of those spots that feels trendy but still approachable--good for dates or catching up with friends. FOOD / DRINKS Mayo Walnut Shrimp (Recommend) This is one of their standout dishes--and for good reason. Crispy shrimp coated in that creamy, slightly sweet sauce with candied walnuts. It hits that crunchy + rich + sweet combo really well and is easily one of the safer bets on the menu. Green Beans (Recommend) Simple but solid. Good balance to the heavier shrimp--fresh, slightly savory/umami making it a nice side to round things out. Ginger Lemonade (Recommend) A refreshing sip with a nice bite of ginger. SERVICE Friendly and efficient, especially considering how busy it gets. Food comes out fairly quick once you're seated. TL;DR OVERALL 4 stars. Steady prices, good food, and good choices. Fun spot with strong vibes and solid Chinese-American comfort food. It leans more elevated takeout-style than traditional, but that's kind of the appeal. I've been to pretty good Chinese spots but this is a nice experience if you're looking for nice aesthetics and good food. After some search on Yelp, we decided to try Eastern Dinasty on Convoy Street. Upon arrival, we knew the restaurant was legit when we saw shiny and beautifully roasted ducks dangling in a display box. Inside, it had a casual décor, with seating for 60 guests. The courteous waitress guided us to our table and brought the menu and water right away. For this visit, we ordered the following dishes: West Lake Minced Beef Soup: The portion was large enough for 6 people. The lightly starched broth was nicely seasoned with hint of white pepper. In the soup, there were bits of minced beef, chopped green onion, and stirred egg whites. The simplistic soup was warm, velvety, and pleasantly flavored. 3 Item BBQ Combo (House Special Chicken, Roasted Duck, and Pork Belly): The house special chicken was nicely steamed, lightly seasoned, and with beautiful gelatinous skin. The roasted duck pieces were plump, with crispy skin and succulent meat. The pork belly had crispy thick skin, and tender meat with nice rendered fat without being overly greasy. Walnut Shrimp: The portion was quite generous for the price. The lightly battered shrimps had a nice firm texture and were covered with mayonnaise and sprinkled with sweetened and crispy walnuts. What a beautiful blend of taste and aroma. Left the restaurant heart-warmed and extremely satisfied. Highly recommended.

Go here…read more -------------- I came here after a friend recommended it when I told them I was coming down to San Diego for a day trip during my spring break from school in Orange County. I was born and raised in LA, so I've had a lot of Chinese food growing up, and I wasn't expecting to be this surprised--but I really was. I ordered the black bean eggplant and the salt and pepper chicken wings. The wings are what they're known for, but I have to start with the eggplant because it completely caught me off guard. It wasn't mushy at all--crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside, and coated in sauce without losing its texture. Every bite had depth and balance, not just saltiness. I actually meant to start with the wings, but the eggplant was so good I ended up eating half of it before even getting to them. By that point I was already getting full, but I still made sure to finish the wings--and I'm honestly excited to take the rest of the eggplant home as leftovers. By the time I got to the wings, I understood why they're popular--crispy, flavorful, and super satisfying--but what stood out to me was how both dishes complemented each other. One rich and layered, the other crisp and bright. I never got tired of eating, which honestly says a lot. I even told the staff how much I enjoyed the food and they thought I was joking, but I meant every word in saying I thought it was comparable, if not better then the food I've had in Chinatown in LA. Really glad I came here and the next time I have a chance to come back down to SD I definitely will come back here and that's not negotiable for me

They were drowned in salt! The Crispy Beef was nothing but thick dough with no beef inside. To add insult to injury it was BURNED so badly that all you could smell was burnt dough and taste burned dough. Hardly any sauce on it as well. The Shrimp Fried Rice should have just been plain white rice for how bland it was. The Vegetable Chow Mein literally was just a container of salt. Slim noodles and salt, disgusting! We spent so much money and all of this is going right into the garbage. Stay away from this hole! It should be shut down for trying to poison people. Salt n pepper wings were not refilled and cold. I had to put my food on the warm white rice to try to heat it. Pork belly n pork bbq was decent but lukewarm. There is a cold section that had salad and cold dishes. Noodles were good, warm, and my kid liked the thick noodles. U get one entree per person if u do all u can eat. Got the walnut shrimp, fried rice, tofu, and French beef. The shrimp was cooked or warm but the walnuts were cold? Not even heated up with the shrimp? Beef was tender and had some flavor. Would I come back here probably not or if I did, go here when it's busy so maybe the food would be warmer. Budget not bad just around $100 for 4 but I guess u pay for what u get. Probably better to go to one of those asian buffets on Miramar road. I hope they improve and get better food warmers. Service was decent, 2 waiters and friendly. I don't like giving out bad reviews. Came for Mother's Day. It's in a nice little shopping center. There's a good amount of parking, but…read morethe restaurant itself is quite small. So there is a line that lines up quickly and hopefully hopefully you get a seat. I don't think the biggest table can be more than four people. There's also a kiosk where you can order to go. The menu is very simple. I feel like the dumplings are actually a great price for how many pieces you get. Service was fine. The food was good but nothing solid out to us, I could taste the freshness in the dumplings but maybe because they're boiled, they were a bit bland to us. Definitely needed the sauce with it. Maybe we will be back to try something different. Overall 3/5 for the dishes we ordered that evening
