    Dinner sized chicken teriyaki
    E O.

Excellent service! A+++ Very welcoming and accommodating restaurant. I got a dinner sized chicken teriyaki. It came with a lot of vegetables which was great . It definitely was not authentic teriyaki, if I hadn't ordered it, I would have not guessed it was., but it was very tasty and very addicting so I ended up scarfing everything up. My husband ordered the War wonton soup, he said it was ok- he could taste some added sweetness in it, that he didn't like. But he liked the crunchies that were served alongside . Again , the service was great throughout.

Candy and Nancy are amazing! My observation they knew every one that walked in the restaurant. The food was delicious and amazing with great flavors and seasoning. I can't wait to come back soon

Meet a friend here for lunch since it was in between our two houses. The friendly owner and her daughter run this place. We ordered the shrimp lo mein dinner portion since it was only $2-3 more than the smaller lunch one. It was quite good! My friend also ordered the sashimi dish.

Great food! Amazing service and a very nice owner. The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Every dish had a delicious balance of seasoning and texture, and you can tell everything is made with care. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants around. I'll be coming back for sure!

Domo Kitchen is a longtime Asian eatery located in the Ruffin Village of Kearny Mesa. I was running errands nearby and wanted to give them a try after driving past the business many times over the years. The dining room was empty when I arrived which wasn't a good sign. There were about twelve tables for seating, however at least four of them were filled with all kinds of clutter. They were being used as de facto storage space. That along with the marquee sign above the suite being only half illuminated gave a bad initial impression. A two-sided menu sheet listed the Chinese cuisine while a paper order slip showed the sushi offerings. There were no accompanying menu photos, only a brief description of each item on the back of the slip. The Cut Rolls were discounted by 40% while the Special Rolls were 20% off. I wish places would just list the regular price without inflating them and offering a discount to give the illusion that it's a good deal. I picked two Special Rolls (Hawaiian, Spanish) as part of my meal. The Hawaiian was made up of imitation crab, avocado, cucumber, spicy tuna, green onion, sesame seeds, and ponzu sauce. I am not sure why it was named 'Hawaiian' as there was no component that reflected Hawaii. The roll was strangely cut into 11 segments instead of an even eight or ten. That made for the thinnest pieces I have ever experienced. The Spanish consisted of imitation crab, salmon, cucumber, cilantro, green onion, lemon, and ponzu sauce. This roll was cut into ten pieces. Both rolls were pretty ordinary. I also selected two hand rolls... Eel and Spicy Scallop. The eel was the best item of the evening. The scallops were drenched with hot sauce which wasn't how I envisioned this roll to be made. The protein usually has the spicy component blended into the mix. The service was acceptable, but what led to the downgraded rating was the aspects I described in the first paragraph. It made me feel like the owners didn't care much about the appearance of Domo Kitchen.

Ordered to go so can't speak on the service except that it was done faster than it said it would be available online. The sushi was very good. I love that they have Chinese in addition to sushi here. We got both and they did not disappoint. I was a patient at the hospital next door and we ordered online. My boyfriend walked right over and picked it up to bring it back to my hospital room. Such a nice break from hospital food! Definitely recommend to try this spot.

This place is definitely underrated! I'm surprised there weren't more people eating here! My fiance and I came here for our Wednesdate. It was EMPTY! I'm a little mad for them because the food, the service, EVERYTHING, was amazing, but they didn't have many customers. We ordered the cream cheese wontons, the walnut shrimp, and the vegetable fried rice. All the dishes were AMAZING. They all came out so fast as well. The restaurant itself felt very homey. It feels like a family own restaurant but I could be wrong. We'd come back again to try their sushi and get the cream cheese wontons again! This place is definitely going to be one of our go-to dinner spots.

This place seems underrated! We came in and it was completely empty. We were greeted by the nice waitress and she was very patient as we took our time to go over their extensive menu. While we were looking over the menu a man did come in and placed a to-go order and he sounded like a regular. They have specials on their menu items but like everyone said, with the prices of their items and the discount, it comes out to the same price as any other sushi spots. We ordered a total of 13 items which included rolls, nigiris, sashimi, hot entrees, and appetizers. Honestly all were really good. I love how they have the mix of sushi and Chinese food. My husband thought there was too much rice on the rolls but I thought they were fine. I would love to come back to try more rolls, hot dishes, and especially their lunch menu!

The Creamy Mentai Udon is a must-try: rich creamy flavor, savory pollock roe with no fishy taste, and perfectly chewy noodles that are absolutely addictive. Also amazing is the uni, toro, and ikura (known to me as the holy trinity of sushi, a.k.a. U.T.I.). They must marinate the ikura with some kind of soy-based sauce because it tastes quite different from--and much better than--the ikura from other restaurants. I also appreciate that you can order just one piece of nigiri, an offering typical of sushi restaurants that focus on quality over quantity, which furthermore incentivizes chefs to make each bite count. The sushi chefs get a sense of pride from their creative and productive work while the customer gets more gastronomical bang for the buck; this is a beautiful win-win relationship, and while this win-win relationship exists in all trading relationship, it's especially pronounced and palpable between sushi chef and the customer. So you've had the most satisfying miso soup and incredible nigiri. While you're at it, also order yourself the pot du creme; the candied bacon is to die for! My only gripe with Ju-Ichi is their disappointing mixed tempura: The batter on the shrimp is more akin to panko and the snap peas did not complement the batter. Nonetheless, I've eaten at many sushi restaurants in San Diego and I hereby crown Ju-Ichi the best sushi restaurant in town! I'd ordered the yellowtail crudo and the salmon nigiri, which I got seared, and the pot de crème for dessert - each dish far exceeded my expectations. At first, I thought I'd accidentally ordered the salmon belly rather than the regular salmon because of how savory the slices were - they simply MELTED in my mouth. Plus, the rice was cooked perfectly, which I especially appreciated due to the frequency of soggy rice I've encountered lately. I was a little skeptical of the pot de crème because of the description, but I'm very glad I tried it. The flavors were subtle, not overly sweet, and not too heavy either. The custard seemed more like a mousse, and though I prefer my custard to have a firmer texture, I still enjoyed every bite. I'm not sure how I feel about the candied bacon, but points for creativity. I'm astounded at how empty the place was during peak dinner hour. I can't wait to return next time I'm craving a quality meal.
