Still the best and cheapest Chinese food in Tulsa. Call in pick up 20 minutes later. No Boujee here.

Pineapple chicken

After going to Rice Bowl for quite a while because of terrible experience elsewhere, I decided today I'd give somewhere else a chance. I always take mine to go so I can enjoy it by myself. I decided I o come try this place out. Since I've had awesome service and food at Rice Bowl, I'll compare it to this. I called in my order and it was just disappointing from the get go. The guy sounded annoyed and in a hurry. Didn't even take a name or give me estimated time. I timed it for 10 minutes since most places have theirs ready in about that time frame. I arrived, and didn't even get a greeting. Lady wasn't rude but gave this, "I run this place kind of attitude". Now let's talk about the food. First off, the smell is nice. I think anything fried smells good, anyways, it's just too much breading, it taste bland. Over fried or probably recycled oil because it taste of an old frying oil. Comparing it to rice bowl, I paid about the same price for bland food and it's less. Someone was bragging about the pineapple chicken. I thought it was going to be something special but it's just like orange chicken but pineapple. Would I try it again, maybe. Did it taste good, meh. Price, meh

Pea pod beef with rice, pork egg foo yong (4 patties), chicken lo mein, 2 order vegetable egg roll (3 per order)

Fortune Chef has been a midtown Tulsa staple nearly 50 years and tonight was my first visit. The egg foo Yong was the crowd flavorite: Super fluffy and good flavor inside and crispy on the outside with gravy served alongside which is a good balance of savory and slight sweetness which compliments it well. The lo mein is also flavorful with a good balance of veggies and meat. The pea pod beef has a ample amount of water chestnut for a great crunch factor. I'd put this at the top of Chinese take-out places in Tulsa. Definitely go if you haven't been!

Exactly what you expect from Chinese take-out. Solid. Would recommend spring rolls & sesame chicken.

Quick and good service with reasonable prices. But it is not very authentic Chinese cuisine.

Tulsa standby. Been going for years. We live way out South and I crave the egg rolls! Best Chinese takeout in Tulsa.

I went ahead and too it because I'd never had that dish and I had heard it has the lowest sodium content of just about any Chinese dish. It had quality ingredients but not much flavor. Next time, I will ask if they can prepare Kung Pao Chicken with less salt.

The restaurant still caters Korean/Chinese food hybrid, predominantly Chinese food though. A few positive features worth mentioning. I really like the inside of this restaurant. It always appears very clean. The food is relatively cheap when comparing to the like of Chengdu. Hot tea is served in a hot tea pot, not in a cup. YES! YES!! YES!!! I feel like the Korean food at Chopsticks lack the "Korean" flavor. If the server did not tell me the Jampong soup is Korean, I would have thought it's Chinese. The beansprouts, cucumbers, Napa cabbage, and seafood scream out Korean but the taste says something otherwise. It really does have a generic taste. The Mapo tofu has soft tofu in some sort of shredded meat sauce. It's a little salty but goes well with white rice. The white rice was a little hard on this particular visit. I guess it's going to be another 6-12 months for me to come back to try Chopsticks again. Sigh...
