I have eaten here a few time in the past. First time I have been back in a few years. Eating here made me question "Why didn't I just go get a Wendy's burger or something!" They open at 11 but as I remembered they don't have the food out till 11:30. I got there at 11:35. I went and got my favorites as always. I think to myself they got the food out literally a few minutes ago and yet most of the food is cold or luke warm. Much of it was cold. How can this be? The only thing hot was the tea. The food looked old and it wasn't really edible at all. So either I'm going to have the craps a little later, praying I don't get food poisoning and also praying I just didn't eat my last meal it was that bad. I have been to this place many times . The food isn't bad, good variety and decent food . This review is more about the service aspect of the place . The first thing is they have you pay up front before being seated. Not a fan of that, but no big deal . So during the meal, staff wasn't bad, took plates in a timely manner, refilled drinks . The problem arose as we were ready to leave . I noticed I had no cash on me to leave my tip. Ordinarily I would leave the tip as I got my bill, but as mentioned you pay ahead of time, so I didn't have that option now to leave the top. So unfortunately I wasn't going to leave a tip . So as we were walking out , the waitress stopped me and told me the tip was not included in the price , and she was not happy with me at all for not leaving one on the table . This was embarrassing ! While I agree that they deserved a tip, they limited my options by making me pay up front . So she brought me to the front register and had the cashier find my receipt , so I can then put a tip on there !! I always tip and had every intention to when I went out to eat , so I do not mind tipping ! But I do not like the way it was handled at all . The servers would be better off if the place gave the bill at the end of the meal , so you can then pay and leave the tip on the card like most places do. Considering it was a party of 10 and last minute they added $12 onto it, we assumed this was inclusive of tip. We didn't receive our drinks for 20 minutes into our meals. During our dinner we had to ask repeatedly for refills and had to clear our own plates. As we were leaving the employee stood in front of us and demanded a tip. She was yelling at our family, in front of 5 children. Pork fried rice was outstanding as were a lot of the other dishes we tried and the staff was very nice and attentive. But, the food that I saw, it was pretty gross. It all had this grey, brown depressing palor to it that did not make me want to eat very much. Even the green beans were kind of brown. When this converted from the Jumbo Buffet, it was a slight step up. Seemed cleaner and food a bit less greasy. Just eat there with my family and it has declined quite a bit. Today, I had to get a new fork to replace one my kid dropped, get a high chair after we asked 2 staff members to obtain one for us, and fill up my water after we asked them twice. To put the cherry on top of the sundae, I put $0 tip on the check and the staff person felt they needed to point that out in case it was a mistake. I indicated to them that it wasn't a mistake, but due to how many items I had to do on my own, that there was zero tip for today. On the way out, that staff and another staff said "白痴" to my wife and I. I smiled and indicated I have some fluency in Mandarin, so appreciated their rude comment. They just looked at us. For poor service and declining food, I can't suggest anyone goes here anymore. Even the prices have raised quite a bit over the last year. I'd stay away until they address these problems. read more
