THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF AND SCAM YOU. The owner, Forrest H. Hale, sold me a Lexus GX470 for $13,000.00 that he claimed was in great condition and appeared to be. I bought the car, drove it home and then found out later that it had significant and extremely costly issues and needed repairs that were never revealed to me. I had to PAY AN ADDITIONAL $6000.00 ($5951.86 to be exact) to have a proper Lexus certified shop to fix just some, not all, of the existing problems. Turns out that this company's business practice is to sell defective, unsafe, dangerous vehicles. Then, once too many complaints are filed, they simply change the business name, form a new company, and keep right on scamming, even victimizing elderly people (see complaint below from BBB). This business and it's owner have no morals, and routinely engage in deceptive and fraudulent sales practices, which is clearly demonstrated based on publicly available research of numerous complaints to the BBB and other regulatory agencies. They routinely rip off innocent people, even engaing in elder abuse by selling unsafe vehicles to senior citizens. I needed to following repairs to the vehicle to make it safe and driveable: New Starter: $543 New Knock Sensor: $299 New Power Steering Rack: $759.85 Alignment: $135.00 New Radiator $357.78 New Thermostat: $279 New Parking Brake and Assembly: 769.27 Power Steering Hose & associated parts: 394.18 Intermediate Axle Shaft 342.08 Total $6000 (approx and rounded) - $3877 parts / $2123 labor Additionally, one of the other complaints said that they spray paint rusted and cracked frames. So I check my vehicle, and found that they did indeed do the same exact thing. This establishes a clear pattern of fraud and unscrupulous dealings. My frame is cracked in multiple places, completely rusted in others, and even has cracked and falling out welds on the frame which is extremely dangerous and is yet another repair I will have to make in addition to the $6K extra I've already paid. I also have another 3-4K worth of recommended repairs that I haven't even gotten to yet, that will need to be addressed as well. In summary, this company should not be allowed to continue doing business. What they are doing is criminal and they are endangering good peoples' lives and prey on unsuspecting consumers, even the elderly. LEMON LEMON LEMON. This needs to be renamed LEMON Motors for their 3rd business name change. UPDATE: The dealership went radio silent after promising to send a mechanic out as the car will not even start. These issues appeared THE NEXT DAY after bringing it home. We tried to be very patient with them and even asked if we could trade it in. They REFUSED. I am so sad that a dealership would consciously sell an unsafe vehicle that overheats IF you get it started to a single mom, let alone the mom that has a daughter who is a burn survivor after she sustained 2nd and 3rd degree burns and lifelong scarring. Dealership is crooked. I am in contact with Get Gephardt of KSL News Media as well as the Better Business Bureau and have made contact with other consumers who were sold vehicles unsafe for the road and under a ruse by Forrest and his employees that the vehicles are in running condition. This review will go on every possible medium Rock Canyon Auto / Forrest Motors uses for marketing as well as Consumer Protection Agencies and whatever else is necessary to bring penalties and closure of fraudulent business practices. This review will NOT be removed until remedies are implemented for us as consumers by Forrest Hale. Initially I was pleased with my experience at Forrest Motors. The customer service seemed good and the car was in good condition and ready to take home that night according to them. The check engine light came on as we were driving home that night after buying the car, I only drove about 80 miles to my home with this new car and the next day it won't start, assuming it was the battery (which was in horrible condition) we bought a new battery and went about our life. And only hours later nothing turns on, and it didn't roll over at all ultimately the alternator is shot. Also the "cool new wheels" they put on before us having the car aren't correct for the car. The bolt pattern is for a Toyota (I bought a jeep) and whoever put these on obviously doesn't know how to handle a Toyota wheel as they weren't bolted in correctly and are oblong. When we bought the car (Saturday) and were told we'd have a "warranty" for a few days if anything was to happen. We called as soon as we could, telling them everything that had happened only for them to tell us they won't do anything for us. This has caused us to buy the new car, battery, alternator, and wheels and tires. Horrible customer service, and no help even though they'd said if anything was to happen to call. Why say that if you don't intend to be of help? Will never buy a vehicle from them again, and will tell all family and friends to steer CLEAR of this place. read more

I am changing my review of forrest motors. I thought they were honest and they aren't. When I bought my vehicle from them I asked if the timing chain was good on the vehicle which I was told it was and that it was just the tensioners that were bad and they fixed that. I was told the car had another 70,000 miles before I would have to replace the chain. Big lie! I drove it less than 15,000 miles and the chain was bad, so bad that I had to have it replaced for $2700.00!!! DON'T GO TO FORREST MOTORS THEY LIE!!! read more

Do not waste your time and money, I wish I had done more research before buying a car from Chris who is down right liar. Long story short I was promised an issue with the air bag system would be taken care of by them and they left me high and dry with a bill from the Honda dealer of over $500. **Warning** make sure to have any car you buy inspected because they won't tell you what is wrong with it. My experience could have been worse I guess. When we first approached Forrest Motors they seemed nice, another thing that might be considered positive is that they don't haggle prices. I was slightly concerned that they didn't give a carfax which they told me was only because they are a small family-owned business and not because they are trying to hide anything. The next day I took the car to a mechanic who found multiple problems with the car and gave me a quote of 1100$ to fix it. I took this inspection back to Forest to see if they could do anything about the problems. I was told that because it was Saturday the mechanic wasn't in and they would check and see on Monday, then give me a call. He then bragged that He would likely be able to sell the car to someone else without having to fix it. I waited for his call on Monday but it never came so I called them and they informed me they had sold the car. Turns out he was right, he is a good enough salesman to sell a broken car at a premium price. Hopefully, he disclosed to the buyer what he knew needed to be fixed, although I doubt he did. We got a GREAT used Explorer at a ridiculously low price. Forrest and his staff were awesome. I've been treated well by the Forrest Motors people in every interaction with them over several years of time. I have trouble believing the negative reviews because my experiences have been 100% positive. (Maybe unreal expectations by the trolls?) I highly recommend this dealership. One last thing: I had to go get a salesperson because these people are ULTRA-low pressure. I loved that aspect of my experience with them last month. They're attentive when you want them to be, but they don't swoop in and hard-sell you. read more

Worst experience! Do not buy from this place! If the car seems too good to be true, it is! We were sold a 2005 Honda Odyssey minivan with fairly low miles (69,000) That's your red flag right there. We have spent over $6,000 in repairs since we bought the van 2 months ago. Owners refused to talk to us every time we called. After having it worked on by Honda service department we were told the car's engine was not the original one and the car had been in a serious front end collision. And the engine that was put in was a piece of crap, too. We've replaced power steering pump, rear shocks, all spark plugs, cam shafts in engine, front axels, fuel pump. We are stuck with a horrible van that isn't worth anywhere near what we paid for it. And I'm passed off to a salesman every time I call asking to speak with owners. We are out of state and drove to Utah to buy this car because we used to live in Utah and knew of this place. There are so many other places to buy a car. DO NOT BUY HERE! There is something wrong with a car that is that old but with so few miles on it. read more

At first, Forrest Motors was great. They fixed little maintenance things that we wanted on the inside of the van we purchased. The trouble started about a week after we bought the van (4 days after their 3 day return rule). When we filled the gas tank up, it wouldn't take gas. The hose would click off indicating a full tank after just a couple of gallons. The check engine light came on and it was a transmission code. We did a fluid exchange and had a mechanic clean around the transmission and that seemed to take care of that problem. Then the check engine light came on again. This time it was a catalytic converter code. We took it in and we were told that it needs a new one which is $1000. All those things happened within the first month of having the van. Then the DVD player started having issues reading a disc but won't eject it either. Next, we took the van to get new brake pads because the van had been shaking when we would brake. They told us that the front brake pads, rotors and calipers needed to be replaced. A few months later the engine started overheating and the a/c was blowing hot. So we took the van in again and it needed a new radiator. We've spent $2300 on repairs. At the time we purchased the van we didn't buy a warranty. I don't regret that decision as much as I regret buying the van from Forrest Motors in the first place. read more
