What makes this experience so special goes far beyond just "riding horses on the beach." These are rescue horses--many of them coming from difficult or neglectful situations--and C Ponies has created something really beautiful by giving them a second chance at life. You can feel how deeply loved and well cared for these horses are. They are healthy, happy, and genuinely seem to enjoy their work. One of the most fascinating parts was learning that the water is actually healing for them. Being in the ocean supports their joints and overall wellness, so this experience isn't just fun for us--it's beneficial for them, too. That alignment made the entire experience feel even more special and ethical. Our guide, Raina, was fantastic. She had the perfect mix of humor (yes, some delightfully corny jokes), warmth, and knowledge. More importantly, you could tell she truly loves these horses and what she does. She made everyone feel comfortable, safe, and engaged the entire time. Walking the horses into the water--and even getting to experience them swimming--was surreal. Each horse had its own personality, which made it even more fun. You could tell they were relaxed, confident, and happy to be there. It didn't feel forced or transactional--it felt like a partnership between humans and animals. Living in Sarasota, it also meant a lot to support a business that is doing such meaningful work in our own SW Florida community. Cooper's Bayou Park is a smaller park. I honestly spend more time walking past this park than in…read moreit. It has a small lake with a paved trail around it. The lake has a fountain that doesn't always operate. There is also a larger grass field. The lake is pretty, but the bay that is not that far up the Ream Wilson Trail is stunning. The park does have some outdoor exercise equipment and a water fountain. It does not have a restroom. If parking is available, it can be a great place to park (it's free) and explore elsewhere. If you head south a tiny bit and cross the road following the Ream Wilson Trail, you will come to a really beautiful section of Del Oro Park and the blue trail bridge that crosses McMullen Booth. If you head north, you can walk to Safety Harbor and there are many beautiful areas along the trail. Overall, it is a nice little spot. However, I would not stop my exploration at just this park when you visit.

We have enjoyed this park for over 30 years and have attended multiple company functions and family gatherings. The Indian Mound is paved and offers a glimpse into the past. Informational markers all along the way. Roads are paved (and 15 mph), easily traversed by car, bike, or walking. Almost every area offers scenic views of the northern tip of Tampa Bay waters. Something new to me was a series of rocks that I first thought maybe a rock garden, but closer examination revealed a series of climbing rocks for kids. It's a great place, wonderfully maintained. Once we arrived the crew explained everything to us gave us the safety demo and we were off! Our guides, Andrew and Ryan were amazing! They were young and vibrant and kept our daughters entertained (6-7 IYKYK). We went through each zip line and obstacle with ease and had a great time while doing it. We learned a few fun facts about the birds and wildlife we came across and were given a few places to head to once we left. Overall this was a fun event to add to our great vacation.
