My daughter was adamant about zip lining for her birthday while we were on vacation. I found Empower adventures and set it up easily online. Once we arrived the crew explained everything to us gave us the safety demo and we were off! Our guides, Andrew and Ryan were amazing! They were young and vibrant and kept our daughters entertained (6-7 IYKYK). We went through each zip line and obstacle with ease and had a great time while doing it. We learned a few fun facts about the birds and wildlife we came across and were given a few places to head to once we left. Overall this was a fun event to add to our great vacation. Booked my son's 17th birthday party here with his group of friends. All the staff are super friendly and I must have called at least three times before finalizing the event. The zip line course itself is very safe with two instructors per group. I would not think this would be a fitness type of sport. The only semi challenging area were the obstacle courses, but that is mind over matter . I would definitely pay extra to get the Photo package. This is one of the best memories for my son and his group of friends whom were all first timers . We reserved on a Saturday afternoon and my only concern was they were super busy with nonstop groups. So the items discussed for party planning was not done . I ended up having the boys help me move the tables around and set it up myself which is no biggie. Another thing was we paid extra for the GoPro camera, but missing half the footage because the instructor did not turn on the camera until the last two zip lines . I did a Friday mini adventure which included two zip lines and the suspension bridge. The bridge was the worst part for me (but in a good way lol). It was an opportunity to push myself with something I've never done & I felt proud once I got to the other side. The two employees who accompanied our group were fantastic. They were encouraging, funny, friendly, trustworthy, and just overall great at their jobs. They worked well together and keep the energy positive. One employee took pictures of us & we had the option to purchase at the end. I don't remember all prices but one picture was only $5 so I got the one of me on the bridge. It was a very easy process as all my pictures were already under my name (no searching through everyone's pictures) and they had a few iPads for us to look at the pictures. They have a storage area for your things if you don't want to risk holding them while zip lining. Some people had on fanny packs to carry their own phones & take their own pictures. I had only been zip-lining one other time in my life and it was more than 5 years ago so when my co-workers invited me for their first time experience, I was ecstatic! This location is across the street from the Oldsmar Flea Market and 5 minutes from Town N Country. It was a smooth drive and we had no issues. This place also sits in a park so it might throw you off a bit if you're not familiar with the area. Chris and Ryan were our tour guides and I must say, they made all the difference. They made the experience for us and it was very enjoyable. Empower also has sunblock and bug spray for use at no charge before the zip-lining adventure. They also offer cold towels at the end of the tour. There are drinks, chips and ice-cream for sale. Photos are $5 each, 3 for $10 or all for $20 so of course we got it all for $20! The adventure consisted of 5 zip-lining courses and 2 obstacle courses and they push you to push yourself and I say it really did help for others who contemplated the obstacle course. Becca & Shayanne are amazing! They had great energy and funny jokes through to the end, kudos to them! They really put in work in the heat for us and I can't thank them enough. There were 2 first-timers in our group. The girls put our minds at ease the entire time. They really know their stuff. One of the lines has too much slack, if you weigh under 100 lbs you may get stuck in the middle.. my 11 year old, weighing 81lbs didn't make it the whole way through. Shayanne went into warrior ninja mode right away and retrieved her. All was fine in the end, I just think this one thing can be fixed.. overall a great experience; I highly recommend! read more

There is a mini obstacle course to give a little challenge and a rope bridge with great views. The scenery is beautiful, greenery, blue skies and a myriad of wildlife, especially birds and fish. What really makes this a day full of laughs is the positive attitude, singing, and running commentary from Johnny. He just leaves you laughing. He and Charles encourage guests as needed and thoroughly engage everyone. I'm giving five stars for Shawn and Shane, AKA "Shangel." They were our guides today and they were extremely supportive, told us all what to do and what to expect, and made sure we were SAFE 100% of the time. While both guides were awesome, Shane was basically testing his stand up comedy routine during the whole excursion, which made for many face palm moments (not a bad thing). It's was a good distraction, especially if you love "dad jokes." I also have to compliment them both for their handling of one of the most annoying unaccompanied minors I've ever met. This 7-year old kid was being a total brat and rude and disrespectful the entire time, and they both handled him as if he was their own little brother. I seriously wanted to backhand him several times. I don't know how they kept their cool... The course itself (we did the Canopy Tour which consists of 5 zip lines and a suspension bridge) was supposed to last for 2 hours, but it ended up running from 1:30-5:10. I blame this entirely on the fact that there were 11 people in our group, which in my view was just too damn many. We also had several small kids in our group who required extra work because they often had to go tandem. I really think the groups should be no more than 8. If the group was smaller then I think the 2-hour estimate would have been more accurate. Shawn did an awesome job at multitasking and taking pictures for everyone. We ended up buying all the pics for $20. They were clear and very cool! I'm sure I'll get lots of likes on my Facebook...isn't that what everyone wants in life?? The super cold towels provided to us at the end of the course were also a nice touch. Overall this was a great day to spend a day. The guides both deserve raises! To management - lower your group cap!! Seriously. It's too much especially on some of the tinier platforms. read more

Oh my gosh the whole thing was great! There was a weather delay but we figured as much because it's Florida but we were kept updated the whole time, and entertained. Let's just say I'm awful at cornhole. We are able to purchase reasonably priced drinks, and can wait in a nice breezy shaded area. So once the rain let up it was AMAZING! Our guides Lily and Ashley were just great, professional and it was so cool to have women be our guides. My 75 yo mom went and they were so sweet and patient with her and made it such a great experience. They allowed her to rest and get lots of water. The guides are funny and we felt safe the whole time. Time went by so fast but it took hours, we will definitely come back. Our day started off around 2pm, after weighing in and temperature checks, our group of 10 was off! We geared up with harnesses and helmets and started the climb to the first zip line. Adell and Cheyenne were our guides and they were knowledgeable and funny and kept us entertained the entire tour. They were extremely encouraging to those in our group who were a little nervous, and were great coaches to our 3 brave souls who attempted the Leap of Faith! My friend wanted to do something adventurous while I was there in Tampa visiting since our balloon ride got canceled because of windy conditions we ended up here It was $60 for a 3-hour Excursion which I think was well worth it and takes place pretty much high in the wooded area along the lake there and Tampa old Tampa Bay Safety is a big concerned so they make sure that we are properly strapped in we have our helmets on we know the news in the don't we had two instructors with us one in the front two to help us one in the back to receive us when we made it to the other side each flight was demonstrate on the technique and we also had some obstacle courses that I cry like a baby because of her so scared one being suspended log hanging in the air Nick and Joey were our guys my fave was the laid back he got us amped up before slid across he made me relaxed and kept saying I could do it ! After the third flight I could say that I was less nervous been more excited especially when we got to take a flight over the water I was too pumped up we have a young lady ahead of us that filmed herself sliding across only using one arm as she held her cell phone in her other hand she was an absolute Rockstar I would definitely recommend using these guys it was fun I didn't know that we were actually have that much to do was in the three hours but the three hours is actually from start to finish I recommend some sunscreen and some sunglasses that fit tight around the ears so they don't slide off Fun times read more

I did the "Friday Fun Day" in January 2022. I believe they do this only once a month (2nd? Friday?) but it's a great deal - only $30 for an hour. We did 2 different zip lines that went over the water and the suspension bridge. All in all a great value and the one hour experience was more than enough. They were really efficient getting us into the harnesses/helmets and I appreciated how they were on top of safety the entire time (without making it overbearing). Everyone was really chill and friendly, but again, totally on top of safety which I liked. Would definitely recommend checking out the Friday Fun experience if you just want a taste of what it's all about and the price is definitely right! read more

A ton of fun and then some! Flying through the air with the greatest of ease, is it Superman? No! Its young professionals crossing off a bucket list item of gliding past trees! Seriously though, this was a lot more fun than I expected. I discovered there are four ways you can respond to this course, which is a combination of zip lining and obstacles. (Fyi, an example of an obstacle is walking on a log from one platform to another. Since you were strapped into a harness you could grab the strap that was attached to the line above you for support. This made the obstacles a lot easier even for seriously uncoordinated people like myself.) 1. You're already afraid of heights, yet lose that fear once you are tethered to a structure. (Maybe you really had a fear of falling/dying?) 2. You didn't have a fear of heights and now you do. 3. You have a fear of heights and you still have a fear of heights (e.g. shake like a leaf in the wind during every obstacle.) 4. You never had a fear of heights and have fun terrorizing your friends who do. Yes, in our group of six we ended up with people who fell into every single one of those categories. Luckily, I was the number one. I'm the type of person who doesn't look out the window when I'm on top floor of a building. I hate heights, however, once I was strapped into a harness I was like an obnoxious child bouncing around like I was invincible. I ran, legitimately ran, on the obstacles, while others were moving slower than I could crawl. I don't understand it and I'm not going to try to psychoanalyze myself. My husband, on the other hand, was a number two. He never really had a fear of heights, yet his hands got sweaty and he hated every obstacle. He has already expressed his decision to never do something like this again. Another friend was number three and he kept apologizing profusely during the obstacles. He was fine with the zip lining, since you aren't really using your brain for that. Once he was on an obstacle where he had to walk, however, his whole body would shake. Of course, we had a number four as well. He was the one shaking the courses while his girlfriend was on them. Since they've lasted two ropes courses together, I'm convinced they're going to get married. This course was a ton of fun. It lasted 3 hours (which you would know if you read the FAQ. I learned I was the only one in my group who read the FAQ). Dress as if you are going to work out outside. The park that Empower Adventures is a part of is really neat. You probably could go running/walking/biking afterwards if you felt so inclined. The course isn't really strenuous so don't kid yourself if you think this counts as your workout for the day. This course differs from others in that you have a guide the whole time that clicks and unclicks the locking mechanism attached to your harness every time you move to a new area. I heard other zip lining companies let you go on your own. I'm not sure which way I'd prefer since I've never tried a self guided course, but at least I knew I was safe here since the experts were helping me! I've always wanted to go zip lining and today I get to check the box. Empower is an awesome place! Super professional, organized, relaxed atmosphere with a fun vibe. Just the right type of environment needed if you're a nervous-nelly about heights or unsure of what to expect. The facilities are super clean and well maintained. Our tour guides were Colin and Piper. Both were great and very fun! They have so much patience. Our group of 10 (all strangers) had ages from 12 to 60. So skill level and ability varies when it came to the obstacle course. But our guides cheered and coached everyone on like champs! Upon leaving, the front desk gentleman asked me what was my favorite part of the adventure. I honestly couldn't tell him a preferred "part". The ENTIRE experience was overall enjoyably good! On the day of th event, we had Josh and Charles with hilarious and great energy. They kept us safe, got us to appreciate the sceneary, and have fun. Of note, they have helmets for go pros which is a plus, I brought mine with the j-hook and no issues to attach it to their mounts. Will definitely come back again! This was our first-time zip-lining and they kept the conversation light-hearted helping all the nerves in the group be more comfortable with all the challenges. They both did a great job emphasizing how safe we were and not pushing the weary too much on the obstacle course.
