The Safety Harbor Pier is an easy five star spot and one of those places that just sticks with you after you leave. It's simple, peaceful, and has that classic Florida waterfront feel that makes you want to slow down and take it all in. Walking out on the pier, you get beautiful views of the water and a nice breeze that makes it perfect any time of day. It's a great place to just relax, look out over the bay, and enjoy the scenery. Everything felt clean and well kept, and it wasn't overly crowded, which made the experience even better. The highlight for us was spotting a stingray swimming right near the pier such a cool and unexpected moment. Watching it glide through the water made the whole visit feel special, especially for my daughter. It's those little surprises that turn a good stop into a great one. We had a lot of fun. Overall, the Safety Harbor Pier is a perfect spot for a peaceful walk, some great views, and even a chance to see some wildlife up close. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area we'll absolutely be back. read more

This is a really nice spot to watch the sunrise! Beautiful! My family's first time, and it will be something we will adopt as a ritual. So many spots to sit/stand and watch the sunrise. *This Review is for Safety Harbor Fireworks on July 4, 2022. I created a profile for it and Yelp system decided to merge it with the Pier. I feel it is important for one to know where good fireworks are for future reference!!!! Safety Harbor has pretty good 4th of July fireworks. I was bummed bc we didn't sit in the perfect spot but u never know sometimes where the fireworks will be thrown. Even so, I stood up to see the fireworks in a good spot and it lasted about 25-30 min. They have a stage with a band that is closer to the Marina Park, and the Waterfront Park which is right beside it was the better view of the fireworks. I didn't love the Rock Band Music band. There are about 10-15 vendors for food and drinks. I did think that it was pretty spacious considering the holiday. People are all over looking for parking by Main Street and across from the resort. Parking wasn't too too bad. They had the usual bathrooms by the marina which were of course long as ever and they had portapotties too. I may or may not come back to these fireworks in the future but they definitely were a good amount of time and pretty consistent. High fireworks for all to see and medium height ones. read more

Very chilly morning to take in the sunrise!! Definitely a well known spot for photos as I saw more people here than I have at any of my other morning locations from professional photographers to tourists. They also have a boat ramp and you can fish off the pier where while we were walking by a fisherman, he was reeling in some type of shark but lost it. It jump out of out water and scared the girls though. LOL. Lots of different areas to wander around to for the photos so can be a good repeat location. read more

I'm surprised to find this tiny pier has a yelp page. There isn't much to it. You can park your boats, cars and bikes and walk around downtown Safety Harbor. There is a park with walking trails, public bathrooms, benches, and plenty of scenery. The pier itself is long and wooden. Not too rickety. The narrow walkway caters to fishermen as there are a couple of wash stations. The end of the pier is serene and peaceful. The benches underneath the rooftop offer a shady escape from the sun to enjoy the view. If you stare out into the sparkling bay long enough you many see dolphins and boats. The pier faces south, so, even though you're on the water you don't face sunset. The sky tends to be rather incredible regardless. It never hurts to venture out to the pier at dusk. One of my favorite local spots. read more

On a sunny Saturday afternoon I was driving around the downtown Safety Harbor area, and drove along Safety Harbor's version of Bayshore Boulevard to check out the upper end of Tampa Bay. Then I circled back to just south of the Safety Harbor Spa and parked my car near the marina along Veterans Memorial Lane. You can get out and walk along past the boats, and then wander out to the Safety Harbor Fishing Pier. The walkway to the pier is a sturdy wooden boardwalk with high railings all the way out to the covered gazebo at the very end. Along the way you'll see a number of people with fishing poles and casting nets trying their luck with the little fishies in the brackish water below. There are a couple of cleaning stations along the walkway, and you can expect to see people slicing bait, restringing their hooks, and cleaning their catches as you walk out to the end of the pier. The gazebo at the far end is quite large with several benches, and most people walk out to the end to take in the view of the Bay with the kayakers, paddle boarders, and various boats. If you're lucky you'll see dolphins and possibly manatee, and a whole host of pelicans and gulls. I watched a couple of people hauling in mullet, and most were practicing the fine art of catch and release with their fish. It's a very pleasant spot to enjoy a sunny afternoon, or even some moonlight fishing, but don't expect to be hauling in any great big whoppers as this is the Bay and the best you'll find will be mullet. read more

Take a right at the end of Main Street and you will find your way to the Safety Harbor Pier. Right behind the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. You will pass by the marina and Veterans Memorial Park. A nice shady spot to watch the boats go by. I was glad to see the way the pier is well maintained and you will see the fishermen trying their luck. We spotted a manatee and I've heard it is also a good spot for dolphin sightings. They have kayak and paddleboard rentals that may be associated with the resort. The small park and pier is totally free to enjoy. I think the sunsets would be killer to view from the pier. read more

At the end of Main street, take a right and you'll find the Safety harbor Peir, it's right near the Spa and Resort. it's actually a lovely little spot to sit and reflect, as you watch the waves lap at the shore line. They throw some lovely festivals down along the edge, and occasionally you'll get to hear live music or even catch some of the native wild life as it swims in the water. It's a little piece of Florida you don't want to miss. read more

Nice little park that is clean and well manicured. The pier has some shelter at the end from the rain or sun. There were a few fish cleaning stations that had running water available. I will say the water is extremely shallow so you most likely are not getting any fish here unless you go during the cooler months. So don't come for the fishing but go for a nice walk and some great views of the bay. read more

When I first came here it was just a park and a pier. Very nice park and a cool pier with a covered end. But recently they have created a new edition next to the big field, it's a nice boardwalk that goes close to the water. The foliage around the boardwalk is still growing at this time and its kinda cool to watch it progressively grow. The pier also features an area where you can launch boats and a place to park with trailers. There is a nice public restroom here. The field sometimes features different public events and pay per entry events. Its also walking distance from the downtown area where they have lots of street events. All in all this is a beautiful place to come and take a run or walk the dogs. On that note it would be amazing if they create a little dog park here as well. They have the space for it....But even without that it's still a 5. read more

It's a fishing pier. There is a covered area at the end with plenty of benches. It has a good 360 scenic view of the area. Sometimes you'll see manatees and dolphins from here. There are 2 fish-washing stations. Near the base of the pier are steps where you can go down into the water. It is right next to the marina with a boat launch ramp and a large park. There is plenty of free parking and there are nice restrooms with a water fountain. Safety Harbor is a great town that seems to be doing their development right. If you're looking for a "jumping off place" to explore safety harbor, bike ride, kayak, or paddle board, the pier is a good place for that. The bike path which runs adjacent to the pier's parking lot connects down to the Courtney Campbell Trail (to Tampa), the Ream Wilson Trail (through Clearwater), and also Phillipe Park (in Safety Harbor). read more

Very nice fishing pier, nice and clean environment, not a ton of parking but overall nice place.

One of my top sunset locations. Often manatees, rays, and dolphins share of the sunset. It would be perfect if self-serving dog owners would obey the sign not to bring dogs on the pier. With the majority of safety Harbor pet friendly why can't dog owners obey the ordinance. I have encountered incidents where dogs get in fights on the pier and often owners don't even obey the Leash Law. I doubt Safety Harbor even has any enforcement staff. read more

Clean, modern and the key word for some - FREE. This pier is at the end of Safety Harbor in a newly developed setting. Plenty of parking and the town is in easy walking distance. Dolphins and, most interesting, Manatees frequent the waters. As for the fish well there are mullet and more mullet. I have never caught anything and frankly, I have never seen anyone catch anything. Its water so there must be fish and you always have a chance, albeit it is Tampa Bay not the Gulf. If it is a nice few hours you want to spend with your kids or spouse this is a good place. If its fish you want - fish the Gulf piers. read more

Really! I've started a lot of running races AND training runs here. It's a great race site! You can do a casual run north up to Phillipe Park and beyond. OR you can run south to Courtney Campbell! Not a runner? You can sit on the dock all day and absorb the view of paradise! You might be surprise at what will pop up in the bay in front of you! It's right next door to Safety Harbor Resort & Spa, along with all the local spots on Main St! In fact, I'll be with Safety Harbor Run Club tonight, running by the Pier, and loving life! read more

The park is always quiet and peaceful , the park has an area that's covered with picnic benches and a couple areas right along the water with benches that you can sit on, There is also appear for fishing. I recommend using the bathroom before you go. The bathrooms or something to be desired. But overall this is a nice place just to go for a walk and relax. read more

My daughter and I went down to the Pier with cupcakes (yum!) to see if we could spot some manatees. We were surprised to also see some baby dolphins!! What a great spot to sit and view the water, boats and especially the wildlife. I have been coming down to Safety Harbor somewhat frequently, but always thought the pier was for boats and festivals and was not aware that they had benches and a gazebo. Very cute! read more

The Safety Harbor Pier is based at the boat ramp and marina park and meanders pretty far out into the Bay offering a beautiful view of downtown Tampa and the Causeway. The lights on the pier make it a pretty night walk and the breeze out over the water is wonderful! read more

Went there in the 4th if July. Safety Harbor has a lot to offer for the family and this pier was something I stumble upon by accident. It is very well maintained and has the regular benches, fish stations, and a covered area as well. Parking is right by and you don't have to pay. It's a great place to watch the sunset or fireworks. read more

Honestly I love this place so much I had to question my motives for not sharing it! It's because this is a quiet little marina with families, lovers, and poetry readers, watching the sunrise or the sunset or the clouds or the manatees... Or the newbie paddle boarders who put in here. It's a wonderful place to visit especially on Sunday morning- I walk here with my coffee and watch the bay and the clouds. Yes some tourists come in but they leave within a few minutes and the place is left to locals. There is a nice sheltered area and picnic tables, where my family has had a game afternoon enjoying the breeze off the bay. What you don't see from the parking lot is the enclosed fountain area with benches encircling it. This is where children play and families sit and reconnect. I'm only sharing this because of the many Yelp reviews that have led me to some amazing meals across the country. There's a Starbucks about two blocks away, you can get your coffee or chai tea and walk over to the marina and reconnect with yourself or your friends. read more
