    So many turtles!

Another beautiful hidden gem of a park in Tampa Bay. Kapok Park offers free parking, pristine grounds, natural beauty, and lots of turtles. My favorite scene was along the boardwalk. Peaceful and serene escape from the city. Perfect spot to enjoy the way the sun illuminates the lake and surrounding plant life. Kapok also offers frisbee! The trail connects to a longer trail, but if you stay inside the park you're in for a very short walk. Took us about 45 min to tour the entire park.

Decent park with a walking trail and a lake area. It was a little weird when a drone came up beside me while I was on a walk and later found two older gentlemen with virtual reality headsets on running the drone. I believe the walking loop is about a mile total. It's a good trail if your pushing a stroller or wheelchair. Will visit again.

I really enjoyed taking a long walk around this park today. The boardwalks were beautiful, allowing me to walk over turtle-filled bodies of water complete with cypress trees and lily pads. The warm sun was shining even though the air was a pleasant cool temperature. I saw an anhinga spear a fish and carefully bring it back to shore for a nice fresh lunch. The bird carefully held the fish aloft as it swam all the way in. It felt great to rapidly walk the entire circumference of the body of water. It's wonderful to have my stamina back and be able to exercise without any troubles on a brisk clear day.

I was walking through Cliff Stephens Park with my Brother when we kept walking along the trail and found Kapok Park. The park is clean and beautiful. It has some park benches to rest at. There are trails and boardwalks around a beautiful lake. It does lack a bathroom, so use that before you come out. I really loved that a lot of the scenery was reminiscent of the Cincinnati area where I grew up. There are hills here. We also encountered a bunch of trees that had orange leaves (they were actually changed for the season) and another with purple leaves (it looked like that may be the color of that tree. I am not sure). We walked towards the adjacent neighborhood and found a small man-made dam and a sad memorial. It is a pretty neat place to explore. Stop to read the park rules at the entrance. They gave us a giggle. I will be back to this park again to explore farther. I mostly stayed on the north side of the trail and did not go back around the lake behind the apartments. I will sometime soon though. I would definitely recommend this park as a great place to connect with nature.

Nestled by the bay and south of Safety Harbor, Kapok Park is one of 5 cluster of parks that all connect together. This park has something for every age who enjoy being outdoor and in nature. The running, biking, walking paths are well paved and maintained, the boardwalks are beautiful and spacious for off-path exploring, the grassy areas are well maintained. Kapok Park also offers frisbee golf course that winds through the park as well the small island onto the it's lake. There is ample parking on both ends of the park. The animal life (turtles, alligators, and other smaller residents) are not shy to show themselves and seem to be not shy of people who respect their habitat. The trail can be enjoyed as a short trip around the park or as a longer connects path of all 5 parks that stretches for 6+ miles as a whole. The boardwalk leads through pond and marsh. The pond is lined with tall there's some evergreen and some that show the color change in cold weather. The park offers seclusion from the city noise while allowing for a sense of escape into the nature for a city dweller.

This is a really nice place to go walk around with the family. There are plenty of places to watch birds, fish, alligators, etc and have a nice relaxing walk. Out at the far end there are a few nice spots to get some fishing in. I would recommend stopping by here to take a nice relaxing walk or bike ride being as how this park connects to a walking/biking trail that takes you out of the park (not sure where tho, haven't went far enough). It's a beautiful park!

First time there today! Beautiful place. There was a strange clicking sound coming up from the lily pads. Couldn't visibly see anything making that noise. Any ideas! 2/4/19, 72 degrees and some lilies blooming.

The park itself is very clean and nicely laid out with a cool splash pad for children to play in as well as a nice little park with stuff to climb and slide down and around on. I like that the park had some really clean bathrooms and the stalls didn't have any gaps when I closed the door. Being able to walk around this park and see some beautiful views of the water was something that was very cool because it is right off the water! No matter where I was walking there was something to see and enjoy. There was also a ton of seating around the park so I didn't have to sit on the floor or sit in the way of anyone. I also love that there are both stairs and ramps so that everyone is able to enjoy this park!

Also, during this event they had the bathrooms of the music venue open, which was really nice. I liked being able to walk up the hill between the music venue ans the library to see what it would be like to be sitting on the lawn for a concert and to also see the seating area for concerts. At the top of the hill, near where some construction is now taking place, are the murals. I love murals! They bring joy to the park. Parking isn't great. I parked far away on the street for free. The lot I parked next to is not free during concerts but was also free duringbthis daytime festival. I definitely will attend more events here.

Absolutely loved this island!…read more I have an annual pass for state parks so I didn't have to get into honeymoon island itself. A short drive to the paying booth for taking the ferry from honeymoon to caladesi. It is $20 dollars but they do take military discount too! The two guys on the boat are very funny guys. The captain loves to tell dad jokes and the other tells you fun facts about the islands. It's a short ride to caladesi. Once we arrived there was lots to explore however my friend and I just had a beach day. There is construction going on due to the past hurricanes but there is bathrooms, a cafe, and plenty of shade and trails! I can't wait to go back and explore more. The ferry takes off from honeymoon every hour and from caladesi every half hour. Highly recommend a day trip here!! Water is so nice.

Beautiful beach that has tons of shells…read more This beach is emptier than others because you have to take a ferry to get to it and you have a four hour limit. We aren't major beach people, but I got really interested recently in finding shells. We were at Clearwater Beach and didn't see a lot of shells so I did research into where we could find an abundance of shells and this was one of the beaches that popped up. They have so many shells, but all the shells are very similar. They are the clamshell looking type. So if you're looking for a variety of shells, I would suggest going elsewhere. However, I was super excited to find all of these shells. We ended up getting buckets full of them. You pay eight dollars to get into honeymoon State Park. Then you follow the signs to the parking lot where it is $20 per adult and $12 per child, five and under are free, for the ferry ride. The ferry ride is a boat that is actually quite fun for the children. It's about 10 minutes and in the morning, you can see dolphins and the ferry will stop to look at them. They can fit about 45 to 50 people on each boat, and they do fill up. The first boat is at 10 AM and leaves every half hour after that. You can rent two beach chairs and an umbrella for $35 and they have food and drinks that you can buy on the island. Since you can't bring carts most people travel light so we didn't bring shade or seats. Being that our whole goal was to find shells we weren't sitting much anyways. It is pretty empty. This is not a packed beach at all and we were there on a Saturday in the summer so prime beach season. The sand is white and fine and the water is beautiful. If you're looking for a beach that isn't that crowded I would highly recommend coming here.
