I was originally going to Sanshi Noodle House, but it was closed and I was (still am) really sad. Anyway, this place was in the same plaza and I decided to try them! I had ever had Taiwanese food before so I didn't know what to expect, so I went with the beef noodle soup to play it safe. I also ordered a papaya milk drink and a big dumpling that was on special that day. The soup didn't taste fresh at all, but then again I don't know how it's supposed to be made. The beef had so much fat it was hard to eat/enjoy. The papaya drink tasted old, and when the server was making it I heard the microwave go off like three times which immediately disappointed me. It was nice trying something new, I love trying new foods but I probably won't be back unless a friend who knows more and can recommend some of their best dishes wants to go with me !

after living in orlando for a long time i finally found a taiwanese place that really taste like home!! i was recently back in taiwan and really craving the food, this place exceeds it! it runs from this amazing couple, she's the sweetest thing ever and actually takes the time to talk to her customer. we went on a sunday afternoon and it was busy & she apologized for the wait but honestly.. GOOD FOOD IS WORTH THE WAIT if you're looking for authentic taiwan cuisine this is the spot, it'll make u wanna actually slow down and take the time to enjoy the food and the company, i can't wait to come back!!

Tucked away in this plaza, this place is so easy to miss because it is nondescript. But you would be missing an opportunity to try legit Taiwanese food, of which there are not a lot of options in the Orlando metro area. The people working here are friendly and enthusiastic about recommending good dishes to try. The ambiance is really homey and comforting on the inside. Be sure to try the Three Cup Squid, Stewed Pork Belly, and Hakka Stir-fry. These dishes are very representative of the many food influences in Taiwan. Excellent place that you should try if you get a chance! :)

3.5 stars. Service was good; friendly ma and pa shop vibes. The fried chicken and squid soup was Delicious. The yang chow fried rice however could have been better. It was a little burnt.

This is in a quiet plaza on Colonia Drive in Orlando. The table is a little bit sticky. It's not busy here on a Saturday night. Looks like a moms and pops. The food is authentic Taiwanese. Fried oyster with egg pancake could be more crispy. I tried the pork intestine noodle in which I think it's over priced. The salt and pepper chicken is good though. I recommend the Taiwanese beef noodle soup in which the beef is tender. Yang Chow fried rice yet taste good but doesn't look like the original version.

Was craving good old traditional Taiwanese meals and got my fix here! Also the aunties here are super sweet.

Homesick authentic Taiwanese food! Fresh ingredients daily. I love the tendon and meat season at point, you don't need to add anything. We will be back soon.

Pretty happy that the old Teriyaki House seems to be gone. That place was not good and should not have been open. I am glad the new owners spent a little bit more to decorate the location and actually use the air conditioning. The service was friendly and attentive. Everything is heavily garlicky so beware. Overall a pretty good experience.

Used to be called teriyaki house I assume because reviews for that has the same pics and same address. You are able to take out or sit inside. We sat inside, staff is fantastic, very friendly and got our drinks (we got hot jasmine tea and she came and filled hot water through out the meal). They have a picture menu so very helpful! We ordered the beef noodle soup (wow so flavorful and delicious), the fried pork chop (came with some cabbage, Taiwan sausage, egg and rice), so good!! Reminds me of Taiwan!!! The flavors are authentic. We also got the three cup chicken (has bones so it can be messy when eating!), and some vegetables. Everything was so good and reminded me when I visited Taiwan!!!! Got some zhong zi to go so not sure how they taste yet! Overall very enjoyable lunch! Will be back for sure! Soon!

Formosan Garden, formerly known as Teriyaki House, is located in the Golden Sparkling Plaza mall on West Colonial. The restaurant serves Taiwanese cuisine, and it is a gem of a place in Orlando. Taiwanese cuisine is big on fried and braised dishes. My favorite at Formosan is their Braised beef brisket with rice (combination box), beef noodle soup, and their bean curd & sliced pork. The braised beef is very tender and delicious. It goes well with their rice and noodle dishes. I can't wait to come back (been back twice) to try other dishes. Also, they cook their dishes on order, which means that everything is fresh. It can take up to 30 minutes for the order to be ready - try calling ahead. If you have time to spare, try visiting the New Golden Sparkling supermarket as it is located a few stores down or Boba Queen for some delicious boba tea.

This place is truly a hidden treasure. They make fresh, authentic, Taiwanese food and it is very good. We had the fried pork chops with rice, fried tofu, braised pork with rice, and salt and pepper chicken. Everything was really good, but my favorite dish was the fried pork chop. The fried tofu was really good too, and the sauce they serve on the side is awesome (super spicy). The owner was a sweetheart. They're currently only doing carry out. We really look forward to going back and trying more dishes.

This establishment is a no frills little mom and pop place. But my friend told me it hit the spot. Similar food from her childhood she said. I'm really glad we found it. I also wanted to give a shout out to the server, whom I can only assume is the "pop" of the mom and pop restaurant. He was attentive, making sure we had water, and asked if we were good with the food, and just overall very nice. Keep in mind, no frills - disposable plates/plasticware etc. so having the friendly service as well was a nice touch. About the food, we have the fried pork chop bento box. The pork chop was nicely flavored and tender. There was some minced pork with gravy over the rice which was perfect. We loved the pickled veggies in the bento also and the soy sauce egg. I highly recommend trying their bento box options when you're here. Plus, I noticed they had lunch specials too. Will have to try next next for lunch. We also had the Taiwanese sticky rice, popcorn chicken, plum sweet potato fries and oyster omelette. All were very good. For those who know, this place is located in the old plaza where enson market is but over on the other side where the viet market and restaurants are.

The xiao long bao (soup dumplings) are so good; but so was everything else. Prices are moderate, but well worth every penny. We waited 15 more minutes (20 minutes from being seated) and we flagged down a server to take our order. Another party got tired of waiting and just left. The restaurant was only 30% full so there was no excuse for this. However the food came out in about 12 minutes after ordering which is not bad. The food was delicious! We got the house knife cut noodles, pan fried Peking duck buns, and the bok choy with garlic. Everything was excellent. The noodles were so tasty with the beef being the best. The boiled egg is a little odd but it was still good. The Peking duck buns were so good! I am convinced that the only reason this place is still in business is because the food is so good that it offsets the terrible service If you have a lot of time and don't mind waiting for your food. I definitely recommend trying this place. Other people had better luck with the service but I saw at least one other person say that the service was bad. The food is 5 star but the service is 2 star so I gave it a 4 overall.

We usually order at the counter and the staff are friendly and very accommodating. This place is cute and cozy with modern decor and a fun mural. It's clean and offers a chill vibe, and located near UCF. It offers a variety of boba drinks and teas. There's a small food menu but I've enjoyed all the items I've ordered so far. My go-to is the beef noodle soup which is flavorful and simple, yet so delicious. The beef is super tender and the chopped mustard greens elevates the taste. I always get a side of the hot chili peppers which is added goodness! I'm a soup gal so this place is where I like to get my soup fix when the weather gets cold. Another favorite is the fried chicken thighs appetizer. It's crunchy and well seasoned, not greasy. You get a nice portion. I'm also a big fan of the mixed fruit tea with crystal boba. You get your choice of sweetness level. The fresh cut fruits inside is also a nice touch. Every time I stop in I'll see a steady flow of Asian customers, so you know this has got to be authentic.
