They charged $55 for one hour of trying on 10 gowns with a stylist . It may run over time a little bit but they did not charge us more . Each bride to be and friends got their own changing room and full body mirror , sofa to sit and wait . They serve you ice water with no charge and a menu to order latter and other drinks for a fee . Our personal stylist is Tiffany . She is great . Very patient and helpful to help the bride to come to the conclusion of what type of wedding gowns she actually likes the most . It was an elimination process . We started with 10 gowns and went down to the top two at the end . The prices vary depending on the materials. It ranges about $2000 to $6000 . Veil And alternation fee are extra . It takes 6 months to order a wedding gown if your choice. Then two months before your wedding day they would made smaller adjustments and alterations to fit you perfectly. The following months, however, were filled with uncertainty and confusion about when my dress would arrive. With an estimated delivery timeline of 4-6 months, I initially tried not to worry. In December, I was informed that my gown was in the final stages of production, and I paid the remaining balance. As March approached, my family and friends began to grow concerned alongside me. While the responses to my calls and emails were reassuring, it became increasingly difficult not to feel anxious as the wedding date drew closer and our energy and attention needed to be focused on other aspects of wedding planning. We were told that the delays originated with the designer. This is understandably not in their control, but more proactive communication and transparency about the situation earlier in the process would have been appreciated. Ultimately, the dress shipped at the end of April and arrived in early May. Despite this experience, I am still giving Janene's Bridal Alameda 4 stars because of the kind and responsive staff. The alterations team did an excellent job with only about 2 weeks to work with, and every staff member was pleasant. I especially appreciated Jessica, Tiffany, and Mary Ann for being so accommodating, patient, and supportive throughout the process. At one point, I left an item there and the team were very communicative about searching for and locating the item until my return. Most importantly, the business went above and beyond to compensate me for the inconvenience and stress of receiving my dress so close to my wedding date. After everything that happened, I was hesitant to have my alterations done at Janene's, but the team ultimately turned the experience around and made it a positive one. I was helped by Veronica who was so detailed and caring throughout the whole process! She sat me down and asked me what I'm looking for in a dress and what wedding vibe I'm going for. She took all my concerns and ran with it, pulling out all the dresses that fit my criteria and some even outside of what I was looking for to add some variety to the mix. I'm still in shock that the first dress she chose/I tried on ended up being THE ONE. She also knew how much I loved the idea of sleeves and she took the time to find some so I could see my vision with the dress and it worked! I ended up walking out with the dress that same day! I had attended a dress try-on at a boutique prior and had been quoted a ridiculous price. I had an awful experience as well as my family and friends, she was rude to everyone. In the end I felt self conscious of how I looked, because she basically called me fat the entire time I was working with her, even my daughter chimed up and told her I was planning a surgery soon and my weight wouldn't be that much of an issue, Joanne didnt listen. Everyone was upset, mad, angry and insulted by the time we left. Not worth it unless you want to be judged by someone who apparently doesnt like her job especially if she has to alter or change anything on the dresses she has to offer.

When I returned for my fitting, I was amazed -- the dress fit absolutely perfectly and exactly how I had envisioned it. Since I'm very petite, several inches needed to be taken in around the bust and hips, so I truly appreciated the care and precision he put into the alterations. I took my formal gown to Monika's for alterations. It was such a stressful experience. I am so glad…read moremy best friend was with me for support. There was a lot of gaslighting so it was so helpful to have someone else to confirm that I wasn't imaging things. -I had to go back 5 times. She would promise things and then they weren't done when promised. At one of the fittings, a woman came in to pick up, but her items weren't ready. She said it was the second time she was promised her items would be ready. She was told it was prom season and they couldn't turn prom dresses away. -She took out the zipper of my dress to make it slightly bigger in the waist, but although I had lost more than 10 pounds, the waist was tighter. She said, no it was bigger. -After the first hemming, one side was too short and the front and back were too long. Luckily, she remeasured and was able to fix it. That was so stressful. I didn't think she could fix too short. The back was still too long, but I was afraid to have her try again. She again, kept telling me that she had measured and the hem was good. -I showed her one of the sequins was loose and instead of fixing it, she just pulled it off. I asked if she wanted the little repair bag of beads and sequins and she gave a little chuckle and said no. -My dress is taffeta and she made several little snags- one on front, more on the back where she took out the zipper. -She had to take off the sleeves to shorten the bodice, but they were put back wrong and she had to take them off and do them over. -The built in bra was put in way too high and she had to redo that. Then she barely attached them and they moved around while I was wearing the dress. Afterwards, I went back to ask her to attach the bra. She told me she attached it in 4 places and insisted on showing me. When she saw it was barely attached in 2 places, she said see, it is attached in 2 places. If it is attached more it will flatten the dress. That is a sample of the many gaslighting experiences. -One of the 5 times I had to go back, there was a young woman trying on what looked like a prom dress. Monika (I don't actually know her name) was struggling to zip it up, but she kept going. The fabric ripped. not the zipper, but the fabric. -This is so long, but I wanted to give details for a better picture of my experience. It was so stressful. I honestly thought she was ruining my very expensive dress and I was going to have to find something else to wear to my son's wedding. Based on my experience and what I saw while I was there, I am so surprised that Monika's has any good reviews.

This was my first bridal shop. I looked through all of the dresses available and picked out a couple that I liked. There is a lot of variety here- from big poofy dresses to long tighter dresses and everything in between. Each one of the dresses are very beautiful and elegant. I fell in love with the first dress that I tried on, but wanted straps on them (it was a strapless dress). Jessica said that she can alter the dress to sew straps on for me, but suggested that I try on a couple other dresses just in case I liked those more. I did and it made me love the first dress even more! Jessica made me feel comfortable and was very accommodating. She did not rush me and allowed me to take all the time that I needed with every dress that I tried on. I've heard stories from friends that took up to a year to find the one. I am so lucky that I was able to find a rental that I love so quickly. I had to come back prior to picking up before the big day because my mom wanted me to wear something that did not show my tattoos and Jessica was able to still make it work for me in the same dress that I fell in love with!
