I was just passing through Des Moines while on a business trip and needed a fill. Kind service and Tina did a GREAT job on my nails. She actually cared to do them right and she was very accommodating. She also knew I was on a tight schedule so she stayed focused and got them done as quick as she could without sacrificing quality. This is a well run local nail salon with the owner, Julie always there and watching over the salon to ensure great customer satisfaction. As a regular customer, it is nice that Julie, Tina and the staff offer special attention to their customers. What I have observed when I am in the salon are extremely rude one time customers who drop in and expect a fill or to be given a mani pedi without an appointment. While I have observed plenty of walk- in customers being serviced, I find some of the reviews crazy critical in what the customers expect. Just called to make two appointments!! Says they are open until 7:30 pm m-f 5 pm sat and Sunday! He answers the phone hello! No name of business, says no they can't make a reservation at 6 pm next Friday. I said ok how about 5 pm! He says uh I don't know! I said what does your reservation book show what's open! He says uh! I don't know! How the hell are you supposed to make a reservation then! He says they close at 5:30 pm. What. It shows open until 7:30. Not helpful at all. You maybe losing a lot of business with a person answering the phone like that!! Ughh!! Will not go here. read more

I have never been so dissatisfied with a service than I have today. I brought my 12 yr old daughter in for a mani pedi. We both got plain nail polish, no gel or acrylic or anything. My little girl asked for one nail to be painted a different color than the rest, well they didn't understand and painted them opposite of what she asked for. We didn't say anything because she said she didn't mind. My nails didn't look great but I didn't have the highest expectations anyway, I mean you get what you pay for right? WRONG! When it was time to pay and go, the woman reads me a total of $95! $95 for nail polish! $95 for the opposite of what we wanted! $95 for bumpy uneven nails! I am blown away! I would expect to pay those kind of prices in the East village, not somewhere that doesn't even use clean tools with seriously sub par skills! Never ever again! What a joke! read more

Julie did my nails today, she did a really great job, and was very friendly. I had peeled the shellac paint off because I was not happy with the previous place I went, and she was still able to make them look amazing. I will definitely be going back, I've already made an appointment for next Sunday to get a pedicure !! I highly recommend this place, I called at 2:30 and they got me in at 3 !! read more

Fantastic work. Very nice people! I went for a pedicure and ended up having a fantastic experience! I felt like they took their time to do an above average job and it really shined through! The pedicure includes a foot massage, foot scrub AND a hot stone massage! I got shellac, and was impressed with how perfect it turned out! I will say it is a little bit on the pricier side, I was surprised by the cost, but i feel that it was worth it for the quality of work and the friendly atmosphere. I've been going here on and off for about five years. A few years ago they added hot stone and hot towels to the basic pedi, a wonderful addition! There's no menu, so it's hard to know what to expect for an upgrade. The pedicures range from excellent to average. All of the staff are nice and helpful. Some provide great exfoliation and massage and others provide minimal service. Some work diligently on callouses or rough spots and others are cursory. Overall four stars, but varies by provider. read more

In my opinion, one of the best places to get acrylic nails or a shellac manicure in the Des Moines Area. My nails always turn out smooth and even, and the ladies are always friendly. Shellac always seems to stay very well, much longer than when I have had it done at other salons. read more

My first ratIng on yelp, ever. When I wanted something fixed during the manicure, and asked on more than one occcasion because of how sloppy it was, the owner filed my nail down the the stub. Then kicked me out and said I didn't have to pay. I said I wanted to pay, and waited there but she stormed off to the back room. She yelled at me repeatedly. My first time ever going here and I would never go back. I went in to get an eyebrow wax and I told them I would just come back because they were busy and I didn't have time to wait. The lady told me it would be quick so I waited. I left there with half of my eyebrow gone, my shape was gone, and my eyebrows don't even look alike. I have to draw one of them in just so they resemble each other. Not only did they do a horrible job, but they were extremely rude and wouldn't give me a mirror to look at them before I left. This was my first time going to Forever Nails. Had appointment got there about 10 minutes early, When entering all staff looked at me didn't say anything I said I have appointment. One the ladies said not till 3. I said yes. Was not greeted, finally a lady came up and gave me sample colors to choose from. While getting nails done staff didn't start conversation instead talked to other staff members. Very unfriendly!! I had my nails dipped. Gentleman doing my nails took off old polish. Never wiped off counter, so my hands laid in dirty counter top. While waiting to get nails done, one staff members was sitting in chair on her ipad. Place wasn't very nice and very very unfriendly. I walked into the store and they had me pick out polish. They had me take a seat and got started right away on my nails. After that I also had my eyebrows waxed. It went pretty well but the lady who did my nails didn't talk at all.. not sure if that's good or bad... then when i was leaving a tip.. paid by card she asked if I had it in cash when I'd already written it down. Don't use cash to pay so anyway.. it was alright.. might be back if i'm in a hurry but not my favorite place. read more

If I could give a negative rating I would. Went in for a full set and it was the worse experience I've ever had. The older women clearly had no experience. My nails are not even as she got carried away with the nail file - way too much acrylic and never smoothed it out. Acrylic all over my skin. I asked for medium length -by the time she was done filing I now have super short nails. 2 other girls came over to look at may nails and made suggestions to her. This place sucks. I've given them a fair try but I'm just not satisfied. First off, I've NEVER had so many acrylic nails break as I have since I've been coming here. I'll be doing simple things like opening up a can of soda and my nail just snaps off. Or one time I was opening a door and it pushed on my nails and two of them snapped off. It's $42 for an acrylic fill with gel, plus tip. So it kinda sucks when they don't make the acrylic thick enough to withstand normal every day activities. Yesterday I got a fill and not two hours later, one of the tips snapped off when I was opening a can. Another one of the nails cracked for no reason. Anyway I went in today and asked to get the broken nail fixed and the lady was just adamant that she could not get me in. I said I understood but that I was frustrated because I paid good money for the fill and the nail broke within hours. (This has never happened to me with any other salon by the way). And she goes "well you had to have hit it really hard for it to break since you just got a fill". I just turned around and walked out. I wasn't gonna sit there and argue with her. Rude, not good at the services they provide and overpriced at that. Won't be coming back. read more
