Wow. My daughter had her cartilage ring done by the owner. It was perfectly fine for 13 months and it got infected for who knows what reason one day. We went to him the next day after going to the satellite ER in Plainfield to get his opinion. He suggested replacing it with a regular stud and gave very detailed steps verbally and by text on how to care for it. He even called the next day (New Years Day) to check on her. How nice! I would not go back here. Maybe they do good w/ regular tattoos, but my finance cover up on his forehead was horrible. We came back 3 times for the same tattoo just to be told to come back a 4th time. The cover up was not happening just seem like Marion kept going over the letters, but not actually adding color and hints of white to make the cover up blend in. When we tried to come back a 4th time Marion ghosted my finance. We went to flash tattoo for the job and it was done, covered up perfectly, and cheaper all in the same day. I have previously came to this shop for a tattoo amazing job. But brought back business and this time a piercing and was poor quality. I came with my bff and the piercing jewelry was incorrect on the surface Tragus. It's a unique type of piercing and has to be done correctly in which I put my trust into the owner and was not the best idea at all. He was very rude but I dismissed it but should've saw the red flags. The next day I went to other piercing places and they told me it was not the right jewelry in which I went since it felt weird my ear surface. It is definitely a lesson learned & I most definitely won't be coming back to this place for piercing. Oh and I actually asked if I could get my money back since it was an expensive investment and I was told HELL NO. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go and get piercings in this shop. I had a nostril piercing that I was forced to remove for a medical procedure. I thought no biggie I've changed my piercing before, when I get home I will put it back in.I went to put my hoop back in it wouldn't budge. My hole had closed over in a matter of hours! My hoop was a thin dainty 22 gauge and I wanted to keep it or something similar. I called several places but no one had anything that size. I walk into Forever Ink, entrance was in the back was immediately greeted and spoke to Malakai. He was so nice and took the time to explain everything to me. Malakai tried to taper the piercing so he wouldn't have to re-pierce it but it turns out a nostril piercing can close very quickly. Well, that went downhill faster than a fat kid on a snow tube. Bummer. Malakai was the best! He was very kind and took the time to explain everything. I appreciate his direct no non-sense approach. Piercings are wounds and wound care is not something to play around with. I for one want someone who is knowledgeable and takes the time to make me feel comfortable. I don't understand the bad reviews, I suppose he might come across a little rough around the edges, but it's obvious he is very caring and wants the customer to leave happy. Everything was sterile and clean. Everyone there was so nice and the shop just had a good vibe. Cash only but there is an ATM on site. Piercing was quick and price was very fair. My first time at Forever Ink was 4 months ago. I went in to have the conch of my ear pierced. I ended up getting that, and my nose pierced. Malakai was amazing. Told me what he was going to do and then did it. I went back today for him to change out the earring as I could not get it out. He told me how to get them out in the future. While I was there, I had him pierce the tragus. He put in a small hoop. If you are thinking of getting a piercing, I say go to Forever Ink. They are professional and friendly. read more

My first visit to the shop was today, and it won't be my last. I had two smaller pieces done, one on my wrist and one on my right bicep. Small with fine line work. Spider did a phenomenal job, and I love how both pieces came out (mandala compass and abstract mother & child). Shop was clean and cozy, and the staff were all friendly and engaging. Shop owner Malakai is friendly, helpful, engaging, and professional. While Spider was working on me we chatted about a cover up I wanted on my shoulder to get rid of an old faded butterfly, and a tribal flower style piece on my ankle that screams 1990's. I didn't think much could be done with the tribal, but he came up with a few creative ideas that I loved. So I will be coming back for two cover-ups and updates in the very near future. I was not satisfied with my service here. When I walked in no one was at the front and a man in a room asked me what I was here for and I said the tattoo special. He said okay and then nothing so I took a seat. About 10 mins later someone came to get me. He asked me what I was here to get and I pointed to the paper they had sitting on the table with $20 tattoos for the Friday the 13th special (that ran from Friday to Monday) they were having. Once in the room he said "we actually aren't running this special anymore but I'll do it for you" this was false. He stated it like he was going out of his way to do me a favor which He was not and was very unsettling. The website stated the special was until Monday, which was the day I went. I also called earlier that day to see what time they were open until and if the special was still going. He placed the outline down and it was slanted, I asked him to replace it at a more horizontal angle other than diagonal. He placed it again and it was still sideways. My friend said from their angle it looked okay and he seemed in a rash so I went with it. It was completely not what was shown on the paper. Afterwards he gave me no aftercare advise at all. I have gotten a tattoo before so I was aware of what to do but I was shocked he didn't offer. Needless to say, I will not be returning. read more

I went here for my tattoo back in 2017 and Malakai did a great job on it. I came back August 2019 to get my navel piercing done and Malakai did that as well. Unfortunately, he put the exit hole too high up so now no normal belly button ring fits. Because it's to high up and the ring he put in was too small, the ball on the exit hole dug into my skin, causing a crater like infection. I went to him a week later and he said it looks normal and to just ice it. I went back the next day and told him I needed it changed. I've had this new ring in and the infection cleared up but now I can't wear any bellybutton ring because the exit hole is too high and normal 10mm bellybutton rings are too short to reach. read more

Not that bad, but did have clear flaws. The piercer obviously high, rocking back and forth with closed eyes and slurred words. No gloves on while piercing, and tried to pierced the wrong side. I've recently had both piercings and a tattoo done at the shop on 2 separate occasions. Both were very good experiences. I was treated courteously and respectfully, all of my questions were answered, and I did not feel rushed to leave afterward. They were flexible with scheduling and accommodated me easily. I was given instructions on aftercare and the piercings and tattoo have healed well with no issues. Of course you're going to get an infection if you don't take care of it the way you're supposed to! I came into this place on Sunday with my older sister who has tattoos so she's experienced and this being my first i was nervous. the piece we both got done was for our grandfather who passed away as a memorial. we met one of the tattoo artist and he wasn't pleasant at all. he was changing up the quote to his own words and when i said something about it he had an attitude with me. when the whole process was over and we were about to pay we've noticed that he had messed up with the numbers for his birthday and when i said something to him he tried blaming us when he should have been paying more attention. he fixed it up but it really isn't even or straight. as we got home we also noticed he did november 31st when we both told him november 30th. we came back to talk to the owner about it and to see if there's any way he can fix it up but both him and the artist were rude with us and blaming us. when we walked into the place it smelled like marijuana which isn't very professional. the owner told us that the healing was still in process and the way he did it was to add some cool effect when we wanted it to be neat and proper. the owner also said that he thought our complaint was worse than what we said but to us this is bad since it's a memorial for our grandfather who suffered a long time. the owner was on his phone while he was speaking to us which is very rude. i will not return to this place and i will tell my friend who comes in often was a terrible place this is. read more

Went to see Malaki for my 4th tattoo. It's of my late grandmother's handwriting from my Christening card (will update with picture later). Malakai is super friendly and professional. He makes the experience fun and easy. Once he was done with the tattoo, he noticed the other tattoo on my forearm needed the line work fixed. He offered to clean it up right there (and I don't even think he charged me for it). He said he just likes doing nice things for others (which I love that attitude about him).
