We started with beginner Salsa group classes and have since moved up to Level 2 Salsa while also trying West Coast Swing and Country Two-Step. We've learned so much and have even used our new dance skills at social events and during our wedding! I signed up initially for 10 private lessons for Argentine tango. During the third lesson, I realized that the instructor did not know how to do Argentine tango so I postponed my lessons and went away on a trip when I I wanted to use the remaining seven lessons for salsa. There was a instructor there they the other one go and she was actually very good with salsa, but my initial intent was Argentine tango which at the they did not have available. read more

Chynna worked with my husband and I on our first dance - we did private lessons with her! We met 4-5 times, and by the end we felt totally ready and excited. I thought she was professional, patient, and made the experience fun for us as well. Neither of us have had formal dance experience, but she made learning feel easy with her instructions and feedback. I also feel like she tailored it appropriately to our abilities! Fabio and Jennifer are wonderful! They make a great team! Whether private lessons with Fabio or group classes, it's always fun, challenging and yet never overwhelming! Fabio's instructions are clear, he is very positive, even I didn't do my homework The studio is beautiful with lots of mirrors, always maintained clean! They teach everything: Ballroom smooth, rhythm and Argentinian tango. They organize workshops and bring the best of the best! Visited Forever Dancing through a work-sponsored event. I have never done any ballroom before, so I figured this would be a good introduction on the company dime. I was either going to be amazing and be able to quit working to pursue a dance career or I was going to fall flatly on my face. Turns out, I was somewhere in the middle. The husband and wife duo that own this family business made the salsa lesson very beginner friendly, teaching us how to count and step to the beat. Salsa dancing is very intricate and loose, but they managed to teach in an "orderly" fashion that novices could follow. While I won't be leaving my job to become a certified salsa dancer, I feel like I could find my way during a salsa song. Definitely recommend this studio if you're a beginner prepping for a wedding or wanting to pick up a new hobby. read more

My husband and I worked with dance instructor Nate over the course of 5 lessons for our surprise samba performance at our destination wedding in Maui last August! We first discovered this place through Groupon and scored a reasonable deal for 5 lessons. I'm so glad that we found out about this place as my husband and I are huge Dancing with the Stars fans. We're geeky politicos and wanted to do something that would shock our wedding guests and knock their socks off. A surprise samba complete with hip shaking and shimmy'ing to Ricky Martin's "Livin' La Vida Loca" was just the answer! The dance studio itself is clean, bright and spacious. We would share the studio with one or two other couples also taking lessons or practicing, but it did not interfere with our lesson. Nate was an excellent instructor! He was patient and encouraging, especially since I have two left feet, and my husband would get frustrated at times. I admit I can get a bit controlling when it comes to learning new things and Nate was able to work with that. He seems to have a good read on his students and would subtly take control of the situation. Nate was diligent about recording what he taught us during each lesson and these notes were so helpful to us when we'd practice at home and after our lessons were all over. He worked with us both as a pair and individually when he saw the need for improvement. Working with Nate made us feel comfortable and we always remembered that this was about having fun! The other instructors and staff were very friendly and encouraging, as well! I really appreciated hearing from the pros themselves that we were doing a great job! The studio offers workshops and classes...a great way to keep new students involved and constantly dancing. The end result? My husband and I were a HIT! We constantly practiced after our lessons with Nate were over...even in our wedding suite at the hotel in Maui! Sure enough, our guests were SHOCKED with our performance and we received lots of cheer and applause! My husband and I will always be appreciative to Nate and Forever Dancing for making these two uptight, serious politicos stars on the ballroom dance floor! :) Keep on dancing! read more

Found this place when I bought a Groupon on impulse. It included six 20 minute private dance lessons, a group lesson, and a dance party. The private lessons are grouped together and they are strict about scheduling and cancelations for the Groupon. Scheduling is done via e-mail through Jennifer. I ultimately had two long private lessons which worked perfectly for me. I enjoyed the lessons very much and found my instructor, Nick, to be a great teacher: Incremental points were added as we progressed through the Waltz, Rumba, and Swing. I needed to brush up and felt confident by the end of private lessons. We also covered some Latin dance. I enjoyed it so much that I signed up for more private lessons. Group lesson was done by Fabio and also very professional- the time flew. The dance Party is the first and third Saturday. I have not done that yet. They had a dance show this pst weekend which was well attended and entertaining. Next one is in December. Parking is super easy. I am afraid I am addicted now... read more

My husband and I took private dance lessons prior to our wedding to prepare for our first dance. Chynna was our dance instructor and did a wonderful job teaching us dance styles, moves, and technique. We started out with a 5 class package but ended up going to the 10 class package which we were very happy with. It allowed our final 2 classes to be repetitive practice and fine tuning technique. The first dance was what we were both most nervous about on our wedding day so Forever Dancing Ballroom 100000% made us more confident - some of our family and friends even said they thought they were watching "Dancing with the Stars". Instructors are great, very kind helpful but customer service is terrible! The issue is with the main receptionist woman. Even when they make scheduling errors they will not own up to there mistakes and would rather fight you than try to work out a solution. This makes it very difficult to work with them so would not recommend. read more

My husband and I took the 5-class package two months before our wedding. We had Anu as our instructor. It was great! We were both beginners with no real experience. A typical wedding dance is 2-3 minutes, with 2 minutes perfect for beginners. We chose to do a waltz to Fascination (by 101 Strings Orchestra). We decided to get private dance lessons to get better at salsa dancing, and Forever Dancing didn't disappoint. Our instructor was Nick and we took five 45 min sessions with him. Nick was great! He was so patient with us, and explained the dance moves/steps in a way that was easy for us to understand. Not only did he spend time teaching us some salsa, but he threw in some bachata and then took some time to help us work on our hip movements and rhythm. The studio is well lit and clean, and the service is great. One small thing that we wished had been a little different was our last class. There was another couple in a smaller room with us doing a flamenco lesson, so we barely got to practice with music so we wouldn't disturb them. Nevertheless, the remainder of the lessons were amazing and I highly recommend Forever Dancing! We plan on signing up for more classes soon. Thanks Nick! read more

Enzo is an amazing instructor. We took private lessons with Enzo for our wedding dance. He designed a very energetic and romantic choreography to Frank Sinatra's Fly Me to the Moon. Throughout the lessons, he was extremely positive, patient and encouraging to us. We very much look forward to doing more lessons with him later. Forever Dancing is also such an awesome place to learn ballroom dance. My fiancé and I first took group salsa lessons, which was a lot of fun. I have been coming for group dance classes for the past five weeks and can't say enough great things about forever dancing. I always have a blast, all of the instructors are fantastic, and best of all, my dancing is improving! Jennifer and Fabio have given me tips that no dance instructor has ever given me in the past that have completely changed my technique for the better. Class prices are incredibly affordable.. of course money is important but I get the sense that the owners are in this for the love of dance first and foremost. It is unfortunate that I must write this negative review as I take pride in supporting small businesses and more importantly the thriving arts community. On Saturday, February 8, my award-winning company secured Forever Dancing Ballroom for our most popular heels dance class. Prior to our event, we scheduled a walkthrough with the owner and were pleased with the space. Our event was scheduled for 7:00 pm. We advised our clients that we will start promptly at 7:00 pm. We take pride in displaying effective time management. We are particularly respectful of our client's time. This was a two-hour event. We were not able to enter the facility until 6:45 pm. We were not told this during the walk through. Both my dance partner and I had props and material for the event. We were instructed by the owners to enter the facility through the back door. Transporting our luggage through the back door took an extra 10 minutes. By the time we were granted entry into the facility through the back-door entry with our bags being transported it was 7:00 p.m. Our clients started entering the building by 7:00 p.m. My worst nightmare came true. Our event was delayed from starting on time due to an issue beyond our control. The second issue was the music. The speaker adapter provided by the owners did not work on both of our phones. We had three phones available for usage. Unfortunately, the stereo was not a Bluetooth. My dance partner went and got the owner and one song played on the speaker, but the entire soundtrack did not. After the first song played, the speaker stopped playing the music in rotation and was just playing from my phone. I immediately reported the technological issue to the owner, and he replied, "She fixed it." My response was the music is not working. We spent an additional 10 minutes tackling the music issue and by the time we temporarily addressed the issue it was 7:15 p.m. We wasted a total of thirty minutes with a total of 15 minutes just trying to get into the building. An additional ten minutes was wasted in dealing with the technology. Another five minutes was wasted with the owner asking me for a credit card just in case there are damages. This request was not discussed at our walk through. I was blindsided and not comfortable providing a credit card without prior knowledge after paying in full online. At this point, our whole entire production was delayed. I was furious as a business owner who is efficient with time management. I was utterly livid, but I had to put on a brave face, be professional, and think fast on my feet immediately after the trouble surfaced. I could let my clients see the behind the scenes difficulty. This was intended to be a fun, rewarding experience of value for them. Our jobs are to have them walk away expressing that they truly benefited from the experience. I just want to be very clear, for artists who require technology and music to perform, if the audio quality is not right, the whole production is a failure. The speaker and adapter failed on us the whole night. We had to enlist a client to help us control our music track because the adapter was faulty. It was mind boggling. I could not believe that this was happening. Considering that we are professionals, the show went on. We tried not to miss a beat. We clearly did not want to show that there were technological issues. Finally, we did not want our clients to see our frustration . Our entire class was delayed from start to finish. Five minutes prior to the event end at 8:55 pm, the owner came to the window of the door and pointing his finger at the time on the clock. He waited at the door like a creepy peeping Tom until 9:00 p.m. I was APPALLED. I had never experienced this. At this moment, I felt like a prisoner who was in a cell and the prison guard was guarding the door. He treated us like we were thugs. Clearly there was a racial undertone and we were racially profiled. At 9:00 p.m. he came into the room and stood there until we all left. The ladies were rushed out. There was no conclusion for our event. There was no recap. There were no pictures taken. We were so rushed that we could not start or begin our program with an intro and conclusion with the excellence that we normally provide our clients. The customer service was deplorable. Would we have been treated like this - if we were White? Our client base are all business professionals, educators, lawyers, doctors, government officials, and business owners - we did not just come off of the street to be treated this way. I will never refer anyone or business, particularly a women owned business of color to this place. There is no way that they can fix this. read more

I am a professional dancer--contemporary dance, improvisation, history, and dance-making. I have taught dance in universities and community schools for many years. I studied ballroom dancing many years ago and had a longing to return to ballroom dancing and learn more. I also wanted to support a local business in the dance community and I have found Forever Dancing Ballroom to be a treasure. Fabio is an amazing and gifted teacher. He is excellent in communicating both the technique and the spirit of each of the dances with passion and depth. Jennifer is attentive and thorough. Love Forever Dancing...just finished my private lesson and 2 group classes plus the ballroom dance practice time on Friday nights! I am in dance heaven, so I decided to write this... I take private lessons there regularly and just got a group class membership special for $99/month to support my learning and practice. The membership allows me to take any class I want.... Prices are fair. (I used to attend other dance school in alexandria and the prices were much highter) Here are the dances I am currently studying: Argentine Tango . Bolero . Cha Cha . Foxtrot . Hustle . Jive . Mambo . Paso Doble . Quickstep . Rumba . Salsa . Samba . Swing . Tango . Viennese Waltz . Waltz . I know it is a lot, but I have been doing this for while. Next month, I will participate in a national dancespot competition. I feel more prepared than I have ever been! My husband also is fond of Forever Dancing, he takes lessons and dance socially there on Saturdays. My son is part of the Special Programs for kids, and now he can dance with me. :-) The School is beautiful with a huge floating floor, open space, mirror etc. They also offer Flamenco, Ballet and Aerial Silks. I cannot think of anywhere better for anybody learn to dance. Forever Dancing Ballroom has brought a lot to me and my family. They have great people, excellent instructors and fair prices. Please don't sign up if things change and you can't show up to all of the classes ( it's called life) that you paid for upfront! You will not be able to make-up classes if it's not within a certain timeframe, which is ridiculous because it's the same instructors/classes offered each time. This was a total waste of time and money! Management was not easy to work with or accommodating.
