I've pretty much had every other ISP in Denver and no one comes close to Forethought. I love that my bill is kept simple. The rate they quoted me when I signed up is the rate I continue to pay. There's no "first 6 month rate" and no random fees and no random rental fees. It's a flat rate and I always know what to expect. They regularly email any possible outages for scheduled repairs ahead of time. I've never had a problem with speeds or frequent unplanned outages. I get exactly what I pay for if not more. The customer service is patient and reliable. Months ago when we signed up the installer took his time and answered all of our questions. He also offered some tips for better internet service. It's the best and most consistent internet I've ever had and will never go back to large providers after this experience. I'm surprised by the negative reviews given my experiences with this company and the piss poor service I've had with other larger companies that shall not be named. read more

Absolute trash, and their customer service person, Julie, will tell you blatant lies and then hang up on you if caught. If you want less than 6 Mbps max, with service dropping multiple times daily and customer service who will literally hang up on you if you don't like being charged for a service you don't get, go with Forethought. If you want actual internet service, run away and don't look back. read more

I had an email address with Brainstorm for years. I liked Brainstorm - until they were bought by Forethought. It's hard to let go of an email address you've had for years, especially you've moved around a lot. But the price kept going up, so I finally decided to cancel. I called. I emailed. I made out and sent in their online cancellation form. Well, at least I thought I did. Until I got a bill from them saying I owe them for yet another month. When I thought I'd cancelled this a month ago. I asked that the charge be removed, but was told NO; and that it will follow me, accruing interest, until I it. So I just want to say - DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY read more

I didn't think that their service could get any worse, but now that they are in bankruptcy, it's almost nonexisting. I have better things to do than wait for phone calls that never come. read more

Worst ever. I'm a professional who has run several businesses both online and off. Our account ended up with them through a purchase. Overpriced. Charging for individual email addresses and customer service that cannot hold a reasonable conversation. Stay away. There is better hosting almost anywhere else. read more

I don't think I would want to work with a provider who is never around. It is 11am on a Monday and there is no support. Requested an online quote yesterday and still nothing. Perhaps you "get what you pay for" on this? read more

still stuck with 1.8mbps down and a choppy 0.51mbps upload.....Replaced my lines coming in and bought a new super fast modem and still C$#%@ Calling them again tomorrow ...likely to cancel... read more

Terrible customer service from the billing department when it was time to to cancel. We have been customers of brainstorm/forethought for 20 years and yet when it came time to cancel, the billing lady could not offer even the most basic of customer service telling us we would have to pay for a month of service even though we wanted to cancel because we did not read the fine print of the obscure policy on their website. Most companies will ask you,Why do you want to cancel? What did we do that made you want to cancel? How could we have made your experience better? Not here. All she could say was that we owe a month's pay even though we no longer want the service. Very poor training to their employees. They will soon be out of business is my prediction. read more

The service when it would work was good; however, if there were any problems support was non-existent, doesn't keep you up on situations and the service very, very poor. This is especially an issue if your lively-hood is dependent upon stable internet service. Check out Colorado Central Telecom or another. read more

I've been with Forethought.net ever since they established the domain in Denver, from my previous ISP, which has to be maybe 15 years? Love them, and the service they've provided me all these years. Even if we moved to a different city, I'd still want to keep them as my ISP and domain host! read more

If I didn't have a business to run, I'd laugh at how incredibly bad the service is from forethought. We, too, suffered when they purchased our local ISP provider, Brainstorm. Their billing makes no sense, and their customer service is non-existent. I'm convinced they run their shop out of someone's garage and only show up if and when they feel like it. I have finished transferring my info to another internet service provider, but I'm pretty sure I'll still receive more invoices "for services provided." Yelp, you need to add a "black hole" option to your ratings as that is what forethought.net deserves. read more

Worst service I have ever encountered. My internet broke down and they said they would open a ticket to fix it. No one ever showed up or called me. I called to cancel. Was told only possible online. Good luck trying to find that. I sent an e-mail instead but they just let it go and raked up the charges. Called again and they said I owe even though I did not use their broken down service for like 4 months. They want to send everything to collections. Thanks for ruining my credit for nothing. DO NOT USE THEM its not worth the $5 you are saving. Use centurylinq instead!!! read more

We started our internet provider with frontier internet in Montrose, Colorado over 20+ years ago, stayed with them as brainstorm, now it's Forethought in Denver. We are computer challenged & over 70 years old. We were in our 50's when Frontier was our service. The below events went on for over a month, this is the final. Always pay 3+ months in advance. We bought a new computer and needed help setting up the email account. Called Forethought explained the problem. Julie said we'll have a tech call you. 4 days later we got a call, by then we hired a i.t. Guy . They were to late. We found that we hadn't been able to connect to incoming server so called again. They said a tech was off that day but they would call the next day. I waited till 12:30 no call so I called them. Tech said couldn't help as they were busy with 3 server down. When you do speak with a tech they sound like their either asleep, the microphone is in their mouth & you cannot understand them. Scott actually said that handling email was a loss for the company. Ya know ya can't swing a dead cat without hitting an email service provider but these people really don't care. We ran two horse training ranches & never had to advertise cause we knew word of mouth was the most valuable advertising ever. This is a Service Company. Period, it's a Widget, how you service the Widget is why I determine if I spend my hard earned money with you. It's what brings me Back. It's what determines if I tell 100 people that your company is great or Never do business with them. We will terminate our relationship with Forethought after June as we paid. Until then, still do not have my wife's email set up, they said that they would call me when they have time to help me. I'll keep you posted if they actually call and spend time to help me set up her email account. read more

We live in Collbran Colorado and have been very pleased with Brainstorms service for several years. The technical support has been great. On the other hand, since we originally signed up for their service, we have not received good service from the billing department and unfortunately for us, our most recent encounter was so frustrating that we have decided to change our service provider. The statements that we receive from their office do not include aging information and consequently, we ended up paying monthly late charges on an unpaid month from March 2017. This would have been taken care of immediately had we been able to discern the discrepancy. Why were notified a year later is beyond all logic. We thank them for all the amazing years of reliable service. read more

Gigantic waste of time. I called to set up service 20 days ago. Even though the girl on the other line was less than helpful, I still went through with the order. She said someone would call me the next day to schedule the install. No one ever called me back. I called a week later to see whats up. I was told that they are working on it and it could take weeks for them to get approval through Comcast set up a connection. I figured this was a lost cause, but I just got a phone call saying that they, in fact, cannot offer me service in my location. I feel like that shouldn't take 20 days to figure out. read more

I was doing research on new local ISPs and found Forethought. I am always thorough in getting to know those that I am going to do business with. From the research that I have done, I would not do business with Forethought based on their lack of customer service, honesty, leadership and accountability. They even still claim to have an A+ rating with the BBB on their website. The BBB has them rated as an "F". Dishonesty gets you nowhere. read more

I am updating my initial negative review of Forethought with a much better review due to a number of reasons. First of all, a newly recent addition of Patricia as customer service manager has been an extremely positive blessing to the company. She listened to all the criticisms of what I had to say about the company and immediately put into effect, the appropriate managers and owners into calling me to address the issues put forth. Secondly, the spam filtering, which was a real problem that went unaddressed for a long time, is now being answered in a manner that is both professional and effective. And finally, I believe that at this time, Forethought is embarking on a path of excellent customer service as well as first class internet service delivery. Time will tell if this endeavor will be as successful as promised. However, at this time, and due to the efforts of the employees involved, I am giving them the benefit of any doubt which I previously experienced. Perhaps if all goes as planned, I will give them a full five stars in my next review. Forethought has listened. Let's see how they execute their plan. Kudos to Patricia! read more

Three things to say They don't return your phone calls They don't show up in the schedule time window they give you They give you the impression that they don't care about your business. I will pay more to get a better provider They don't try Just awfull and unprofessional service read more

Very friendly people, however I'm extremely dissatisfied since moving/reinstalling ($50fee). I'm using a neighbors signal to write this right now....as my WiFi connection is continually dropped. I'm unable to fix it on my end, which is pretty much the advice I received yesterday. I moved two weeks ago and am beginning to regret my decision to not switch to another company. I want to support Forethought, because they are local and again, good people. But my livelihood depends on having consistent WiFi, which I am paying for and don't have. read more

We had good internet service until it came time to cancel the service when we moved. We had San Isabel Telecom- Bills came and still come as San Isabel yet when cancelling I find out that they are now owned by Forethought with new rules. When cancelling we were told we could only cancel online and there was a 30 day waiting period and we would have to pay for that time even though we are not using the service. The customer service ladies were very nice but could not think outside the box or offer any solutions other than that is the way it is. I would never recommend this company to anyone if that is the way you are treated. read more

Internet is fast and works well when it is working. This internet provider is not reliable. We do airbnb and we haven't had Forethought for more than 3 months and had to buy a new modem. Forethought said they could do nothing. 2nd time forethought gave out three days later and no one from the office ever answers, only some other company to email Forethought. Makes no sense. For a business internet provider. Their internet gives out. Not worth it If you'd any reliable internet. Worth it if you want cheap and fast internet. read more

Started out fine with their service, but unfortunately it ended quickly after the contract was signed. Nobody was ever there when we called in for support. Multiple times our after hours message was not set up correctly. We had issues with call quality and they told us that they could not appreciate it based on what they could see with the call logs... despite us not being able to hear clients. They became upset with us when we called to cancel service and they have a stupid policy which they make you pay for a month of service after you cancel you service with them. Definitely not recommended. read more

I thought that this company would provide better service than what I had with Comcast, but I was severely mistaken. On the contrary, it provides the worst internet that I have ever had. It's seriously terrible. In some instances it has taken me 5 minutes to even send a picture with text on my iPad. I will not be renewing my contract. read more

Awful internet company. I really do not recommend anyone to use. I have had their services for last 10 years. When I tried to change the service, I had a huge trouble with billing department, Tamara Champion and Shannon. I was told that my account was cancelled when I return the equipments after checking with Shannon multiple times for cancelation of all equipments. She said everything was cancelled. However, it was not. It turned out that I did have two different accounts, which I did not know about for last 10 years. I received additional bills. I tried to talk with Shannon's supervisor, Tamara. Her response was that Shannon is "very well" trained: so it is not her fault. I asked Tarama that I asked to cancel all the accounts with them and it was not done and I still received the bills, is it fraud??? No response from Tarama. It seems like other people have expressed frustration with billing department, why Forethough.net has not done any improvement??? read more

Forethought is a sloppy, snotty business that we would not recommend to anyone, based on our experience and that of a business friend. They could not keep spam from piling up in the hundreds, yet blocked legitimate emails regularly. They suggested I create a whitelist, which still didn't block unwanted spam. Often, I couldn't even send email to my business partner, or receive it from him either. It seemed that a random 20% of our email never got delivered or received. Forethought's support department was not interested in solving these problems, and on one occasion complained about my long whitelist (which they had suggested). We terminated our service, and then discovered that in order to terminate, we had to agree to pay for an extra month of service to cover non-existant equipment. It felt like the pain would never end. read more

I'm not impressed...setting up my internet was anything but easy. Everything from finding a time to have it installed, having the quote be off by $5 from what they initially said it would cost per month, having my wifi never work the first time I want it to - every single day, having to drop off my Apple wireless device twice for them to fix it (which still didn't work), I'm giving up and changing services. read more
