I am writing this review in spite of Home Depot in Milldale. I went to buy carpet yesterday at Home…read moreDepot and waited around for 40 minutes total to be serviced in the carpet area. Turns out the carpet I wanted wasn't stocked on the roll and the saleswoman could have cared less about trying to help me find another. Today however, Lowe's satisfied my carpet needs! We were greeted, not once, but twice (go figure, right?!) by store workers, and within 1 minute of reaching the back end of the store where the giant rolls of carpet were, a kind woman named Laurie asked if I needed anything. She quickly helped me identify which carpet we needed and located a coworker to help her cut and wrap the rug. Amen! Took me less than 30 minutes to buy the carpet at Lowe's and puts to shame the 45 minute, fruitless ordeal at Home Depot down the street.

Okay, I'm a fan of this Lowe's location in-particular. Lowe's itself is a dependable brand when it…read morecomes to customer service, reliable stock, and store upkeep. The weekends are much busier than over the weekend, so I always prefer a weekday. Selections of say; nuts & bolts, pipe fittings, fixtures, lumber, you get the drift, are much less elbow to elbow, and service is much more plentiful. Keep your eye on the sales via their app notifications and email for increased valve for your over worked dollar. Returns are even a notable service, just make sure you remember a paper receipt and/or which credit card is used if it's to be credited back - this has been my pitfall at times.

This afternoon we went to Lowes and saw a fridge that was discounted as you walk out of checkout -…read morethere were no holds or stickers on the item when we first went. We asked some questions with customer service about if we could still buy the warranty on it and then went home to measure our space and decide. We came back about 2 hours later (around 6pm) with a truck and money in hand. Upon arrival, there was still no sticker on the fridge and it was still sitting outside checkout with all the other discount items. My husband went to purchase it and he was told that someone came around 1pm and was interested so they couldn't sell it. My husband said, "well I have a truck and money in hand now". The appliance manager then told him to calm down for no reason. They made it a point to say well the guy wanted other things so they were getting pricing for him. However, he never paid for anything or signed anything saying he'd buy it. In fact, they called the person with my husband there to see if he wanted it, but still took no payment! When my husband got home, he told me and I called to speak with the manager who was apparently on break for an hour. I had a feeling that 1 hour didnt seem right as most people get 30 minutes and had a feeling he'd be leaving since it was getting later, so I had my husband call back and he got connected to the manager. We spoke with the manager, Thyan, who was kind, but absolutely unhelpful. He simply said they were creating an estimate for someone for multiple items including that fridge and it should've been taken off the floor and their employee made a mistake. He offered to help us find another fridge, but I informed him the features and price of this fridge were appealling so unless he was going to discount another of the same it wouldn't matter. I also asked what the policy was regarding these types of items because they normally don't hold unless you pay. He wasnt able to tell me the policy and said I can find it online which I said I had already tried to do. He said he would try to find it and email it to me which leads me to believe they dont even know their own policy. At the end of the day, an estimate is absolutely 100% not a deposit or payment. I asked if I had asked them to hold it for me without paying would they and I received no response. Not sure if someone personally knows the other customer or not, but this is insane. If you're employee made a mistake you should be making it right by matching it on another one. Normal people can't afford such a high price item (online normally about $3,499 and down to $1,150). That is a HUGE difference. The employees who made the supposed mistake gets to go home no problem while we get axed. Regardless, they should never be gate keeping an item for someone who has absolutely not paid a dime for it. Even if they put together an estimate. An estimate is an invoice, not a guarantee or signed agreement. We are sincerely upset and unsatisfied that they would act in such bad faith. I get they'll make more money potentially for the other items, but that should not matter if an item is not paid for. I have never in my life been to any business in which they just magically hold items without them being paid for. I will be calling corporate and am awaiting the policy from the manager because I am pretty sure this isnt how these items should be handled.

Had an abysmal experience here. Completely dishonest about the repairs done and the length of time,…read morestory changed multiple times, and my rebuttals were conveniently ignored and sidestepped. I was charged fees that were not disclosed before hand, and that other locations do not charge, unless applicable to the service. Appears to be the "sketchy garage" of power tool repair. My EGO snowblower had a stuck right auger which turned out to be a single rock stuck between the auger and scoop (I did not see the black rock against the black scoop before bringing it in, but a repair man noticed it and popped it out right in front of me when I dropped it off). The rock bent one part of the auger and needed to be bent back. I could have done this myself but I've already paid the initial diagnostic fee, so I left it when the repair guy said, 'at least this won't cost you a lot since it won't be under warranty'. I figured my $50 fee was going to cover my oversight, and the 48 seconds to clamp a wrench/bend the auger an inch and put in my new shear pin which I had with the snowblower. When I picked it up I was charged for 2 new shear pins, which I didn't really mind because I'll use them at some point, but it felt a little dishonest as I had a shear pin already in the top cover, clearly visible. I disputed a $7 environmental fee and $9.95 shop supplies fee since there was no supplies used, and no hazardous material disposed of. The story behind these fees changed throughout our discussions, but apparently this is charged to everyone, regardless of the repair. Funny how the guy at the repair desk who takes payment also didn't understand why the environmental fee was included. And seeing as this was the third EGO snowblower brought in in 2 days (they told me when I dropped it off) it seems unrealistic that he wouldn't have seen this charge on every single repair item. Regardless, these fees should be disclosed before hand, especially when neither pertains to my repair. Surprised I wasn't charged an electricity fee, or oxygen fee for breathing on the property. I understand that some places charge these fees, but it still seems mighty excessive to charge a $9.95 supplies fee to a $90 bill that used no supplies. I had no issue at the time of the call with the labor charge itself of $75 as I figured it was a flat fee. It was only until them trying to justify the other fees that my labor charge was described to me as how they were doing me a favor by only charging 'a $75 labor charge because we don't normally charge under an hour labor, which is $100 per hour, and not only that but it also took more than an hour to fix'. I ask "this took over an hour?" I'm told they had to take the whole thing apart, reassemble it, remove all jammed rocks and bend the auger. When I tell the person it was actually one rock, removed in front of me at drop off, so all they did was bend the auger (and put a new shear pin in), not disassemble or reassemble anything, the story changed to "yeah that's why it was only $75 because it was such a small thing, trying to save you money when it should have been $125, but since it wasn't a warranty repair that's what he did, to, you know, make it cheaper for you". Toward the end of the end of the call, he informed me they're not even an authorized EGO repair center yet and that their paper work hasn't been approved yet. I'm awaiting a supervisor's call back from EGO pertaining to this. Run, don't walk, to a different business unless you like having your money fleeced from you. As a small business owner myself, I'm all for places making money, but I hate being lied to and taken advantage of. I will happily drive further to Ace Hardware next time I need a repair.
