I am writing this review in spite of Home Depot in Milldale. I went to buy carpet yesterday at Home Depot and waited around for 40 minutes total to be serviced in the carpet area. Turns out the carpet I wanted wasn't stocked on the roll and the saleswoman could have cared less about trying to help me find another. Today however, Lowe's satisfied my carpet needs! We were greeted, not once, but twice (go figure, right?!) by store workers, and within 1 minute of reaching the back end of the store where the giant rolls of carpet were, a kind woman named Laurie asked if I needed anything. She quickly helped me identify which carpet we needed and located a coworker to help her cut and wrap the rug. Amen! Took me less than 30 minutes to buy the carpet at Lowe's and puts to shame the 45 minute, fruitless ordeal at Home Depot down the street. read more

no rating from horrible purchase two appliances recently. five year warranty on both. on a refrigerator the deli shelf has cracked in half three times latest replacement arrived in two pieces. brand new dishwasher broken from the start. customer service as good as useless. do not purchase appliances at lowes do not by frigidaire fridges very cheap and shoddy. not impressed with ge dishwasher, does not work properly from the jump. lowes will not honor the five year warranty on the refrigerator or make good on the replacement parts. deliver people are rude and lazy! i am very disappointed and my wife is beside herself. terrible products, worse service. read more

Update: Additional issues with the delivery to include the dryer, photos below. Scheduled a pickup for Monday, no text late Sunday with a time frame for pick up. Called the store, sat on hold for 25 minutes so had to drive there to speak with an Assistant Manager because the store manager couldn't be bothered to leave his office. Should be picked up on Wednesday, not holding my breath. Original review: We had a washer and dryer delivery. Both are damaged. The delivery crew left screws on our driveway from the unpacking of the washer and dryer. I would not recommend getting appliances from this store. read more

Just so incredibly awful. I never go to Lowe's if I can help it, but I wanted to buy a potted plant as a gift, and this store was 5 minutes away from the home I was going to. They've removed basically all of the registers at the front of the store-- there are numbers showing you that there used to be 14, but they have all been removed, and replaced with 4 self-checkout stations. Today there was a real cashier in the garden center-- one person-- I felt awful for her, trying to basically run the entire store, alone, on Memorial Day. There were dozens of people in line trying to check out, of course everyone was annoyed. What a pathetic way to run a store-- why not just staff appropriately? read more

Joe in plumbing is always extremely helpful to myself and my husband even when its a non plumbing issue as the store is generally short staffed. He always goes out of his way to help us and his fellow workers with a smile even when he is being paged in many directions. He is aces. Store is clean too. read more

Lowes has terrible customer service. They outsource the delivery of their products. Truck turns around in my yard and ultimately sinks in mud and has to be towed out. Report this to Lowes and they basically don't care. Simply pass the buck that getting refunded for delivery and lawn fixed is not their problem and I have to deal with 3rd party truck company. Very disappointed in Lowes being such a large business and their "not my problem" attitude. I will never get delivery from Lowes and will always go to Home Depot moving forward. read more

Deplorable and simply unacceptable delivery service. Do yourself a favor and don't buy a major appliance here that needs to be delivered. I've spent thousands at this store and usually the same story when arranging delivery. Bottom line, the delivery guys don't use the phone number the Lowe's store has in its system on who to call to arrange delivery. They simply go by the number of whoever purchased the item. Also, the delivery guys NEVER call the customer the night before as the store promises. I'll note, to arrange delivery on major appliances like I have is not cheap ... mind you, after already having spent thousands like I have on appliances, Lowe's then charges a lot of money. And at the register the store associates make all kinds of promises about delivery but Lowe's delivery guys do their own thing. So in my case, the delivery guys kept calling my wife who is California (this all happened last night/today) to arrange delivery. Then, when I called the store several times to get things straightened out I kept getting transferred around- the runaround, no one would pick up, and in one of the twenty calls I made to the store was hung up on. Finally, I made no fewer than three trips to the store and was first assured someone would call ME (not my wife who's in California) to arrange delivery today. But lo and behold ... the delivery guys called my wife again. Today, they told her they tried deliveri the washer dryer at 815am (they never called either one of us the night before) and although I was home, they claimed to the store manager no one was home at 815am, clearly a lie as I have security cameras and they never arrived. Anyway, after going back once again to the store, the manager Jane was very nice but told me to wait two minutes, but I finally left after waiting about 15. She was kind enough to call me but unfortunately lied again and said the guys would deliver today, but of course they never did. Now it's a week after I bought a washer dryer and paid for installation/delivery and still don't have the items and my pile of dirty laundry is getting bigger. The most amzing thing of all, although she was very nice when dealing with a very frustrated man (me) the store manager actually suggested I have my $2200 refunded by Lowe's instead of dealing with the stores incompetent and totally inexcusable delivery/installation service. The takeaway from all this ... Lowe's should not have an installation/delivery service if they cannot deliver and install their store bought products. Lowe's should do better or get out of the delivery/installation business. Likely that end is subcontracted and if so, they should dump the company they currently have. Bottom line, although I've spent thousands at this store, I will NEVER, ever again spend another dime at The Southington Lowe's and will advise anyone I see to spend their money at Home Depot instead. I know I'm also writing a letter to corporate and am not done posting negative reviews. This store is the worst. I only want the clothes washer/ dryer delivered that I paid $2200 for! I like this location. It is super convenient when on 84 seeing it is off of West Street. Unlike some locations, every time I have come here, they have had what I needed on the spot. This particular time we were looking for a front door for a friends house and the staff in that department was very easy to work with and was knowledgeable which is a +. Will return read more

Lowe's Home Improvement - Hardware Stores Near Me - Southington, Connecticut

I ordered a lawn tractor from Lowe's Southington online a week ago to be delivered to my house. I received a phone call two days ago that it was at the store and I could "pick it up". Unless I tie it to the top of my Subaru, that's not happening. I asked for the earliest delivery time available and she told me 10 days out! They charged my card already, the thing is at their store, why do I have to wait another ten days to get it delivered? I guess I will have to give Home Depot or Sears my future business. Lowe's is not exactly making me feel like a wanted customer at this point. And my grass is very high, I'm sure the neighbors are annoyed. read more

Best Lowes I have ever been to. Plenty of parking, being connected to Target and the parking lot is easy to get out of with lights being right infront. Being right off of the highway, this location is easy to find. The department store is huge and I only once walked out without finding what i was looking for. I usually come here when I do not find what I am looking for at Home Depot. There are no local Lowes where I live and work. (Lowes needs to get on the Middlebury/Waterbury train already). The staff is friendly and helpful. They did not have an item in stock, but when I asked the employee used her radio to ask if any were available. Plus 1 for going out of her way. Another time I spent a while talking to the guy in plumbing. They did not have what i was looking for, but he came up with every type of solution possible. If you live in the area, this is definitely the hardware store of choice for "do it yourselfers". read more

Two weeks ago I purchased a vanity and sink for install. The man working the section (George) basically told me I could not afford anything in this area, and started to walk away, I stop him and ask question about the product that I wanted and about install and I bought it anyway. I was told that within 2 days a installer will call to come to my house and measure area where sink will be installed. After a week of waiting for the phone call my wife went back to Lowe's to talk to George, he did not even call the installer to even leave a message about finding out what was taken so long, then she went to the store manager and told him the situation and he called the installer and left a message. The next day I got a call that they will come to my house in two days. After 2 days he came and measured. He then told me that within two more days the store will call me with a price for install. After three days my wife went back to Lowe's today and then they told her that it will cost $800.00 to install a $300.00 sink. I'm done with this store, I'm getting my money back, but I can't get back the $35.00 fee for the guy to come to my house a week and a half later for measurment......smh read more

Lowes Southington,CT 10/8/2018.... Bought a plastic shed for pick up and the forklift driver and spotter stupidly forgot/ignored the pallet still under the boxed package. They continued on to shoving the pallet onto my rear SUV bumper while me waving and screaming to the forklift driver to stop the bumper car action. I came in to buy a $550 shed , and left with a $650 quoted scratch damage to my vehicle as well(by the way, my wife and I are the ones that took the pallet off after the forklift backed up)... Was told to get the bumper fix, and I will be reimbursed after. This is on my own time and money and lost of vehicle mind you(so did not even bother as I'd have to pick up money and bring back a receipt like a child)... The SUV has never had a single scratch in 7years, this scratch and dent will serve as a reminder how stupid boxed store Southington,CT Lowe's employees are... Was told by manager Rob that "he still would like us to keep on shopping at Lowe's after" and that's about the gist of it not even a coupon voucher??? read more

I choose this store for many reasons over Home Depot. I even drive a little bit further away from my house to shop here. I have never had a bad experience. 0 stars for the Hertz Rental at Lowes. I am really writing this review to warn people about the Hertz Rental at the stores now. I used to rent the truck from Lowes all the time to take plywood or drywall home. There was never an issue and the process was simple. Speak the the customer service desk, credit card and your insurance card. Done. I rented the pick up truck from the new Hertz Rental and it was the WORST experience. I was on this stupid kiosk for 45 minutes video conferencing with a woman who I couldn't hear over the phone attached to the kiosk. At one point she tried sign language because I couldn't hear her. Who's the idiot who thought a video phone conference was a good idea in a loud home improvement store. The woman obviously was new or horrible at her job because she had three people standing around her by the end to help her. The whole process is a pain in the ass. The card reader wouldn't work for my debit card so I had to use my credit card. After about 10 swipes, it finally registered. I walk out to the truck and its locked. The stupid kiosk gives you a card, but gives you not explanation on what the hell you' re suppose to do with it. I finally figure out you are suppose to swipe it over the windshield to unlock the doors. I get in the truck and it won't start. You have to bend down in the seat and read this tiny little screen. It has what looks like a cell phone green button for answer and a red phone phone to hang up with a knob in the middle. After about 10 minutes messing with that stupid thing I get the truck started. OH THERE IS NO GAS. Now I have to figure out how the hell to use their gas credit card. I find the recipe and follow the directions which are completely unclear on what you are suppose to do. Thankfully it's a similar process to my work vehicles so I figured that out. Oh the the best part. I jump back into the truck after putting 100 dollars in tank and it won't start. So I spent another 10 minutes figuring out that every time you shut the truck off for more then two minutes you have to re-swipe the card over the windshield to get the truck to start. I WILL NEVER RENT from Hertz Rental at Lowes again. Ever. read more
