Went to the Forseters for Valentines ( 2011) Oh so disappointing. The menu was bland and uninspiring. We had a Antipasto of Olives, and various meat , the olives had to be asked for, the meats were nasty, the ham tasted liked tinned. the oil was nice, but had reduced Balsamic vinegar in the bottom which would not mix with the oil, really a school boy error. The salad was lovely. My sweet and sour pork was overly sweet and though the meat was well cooked it was a very lack lustre affair. The rice had been standing under a hot light and was dry and crispy. Again the salad garnish was fab. Oh the pudding, I had a chocolate mouse with raspberry coulis, Nasty nasty dish. It was I am pretty sure Angel delight, insipid no taste of chocolate again I had to ask for the raspberry. My partner had the riccota tart with spinach which he said was nice enough, with again a lush salad. His Eton mess was topped with spray cream (!) Service was attentive, a bit brusk and sloppy but nice people. The wine a Cote du Rhone was the saving grace of the meal, deeply tasty and deserved to have a better meal to accompany it. I do hope that at some stage the owners of Forrester Flower will employ a Chef who will be able to cook decent meals again. Not sure we will be going again until that happens which is a shame as the Pub is on our doorstop. read more

Having visited the Forester Flower many times with my husband for a romantic meal in a relaxing and welcoming pub I felt I just had to share my experience with all my friends I'm a member FOMCU (friends of Margaret Coates Unit) and we meet up once a year with present and ex-pupils parents and for this years meeting I suggested The Forester Flower at first we booked for a Caribbean buffet for 20 people but when word got around it doubled up to 40 of us, when I phoned the landlady I was reassured that it was no problem with the increase ( which was a nice surprise as most places just can't cope with change). On the night we were greeted with a warm welcome and a decorated pub with balloons. Food was a mixture of hot & cold foods which was perfectly displayed and smelt and tasted FANTASTIC. At the recommendation of a friend, 8 of us went for a meal on Saturday night. What a find! Brilliant pub. We had drinks in the bar first and the two who had starters had them in the bar which was a nice touch. Food was excellent. We were an awkward bunch - one needing a gluten free meal, one on a low fat and two vegetarians! Liver and bacon on a bed of bubble and squeak was to die for. Leicester and spring onion tart got a definite thumbs up from the two vegetarians. Wine was excellent and the service was that perfect balance of efficency and friendliness. Decor is fab - and the Ladies loo is the best anywhere. Pay a visit and you will not be disappointed. I can only think that the people who have given it a bad review want to keep this excellent find to themselves - or alternatively they are competitor pubs! read more

I have just been to im sure Baths best pub .I had duck breast followed by the best sticky toffee pudding i have ever had The service was excellent and the staff made our evening very memorable .as well as the restaurant the bar area has a great ambience and has a good selection of beers including real ale A new addition to The Forester and flower is bed and breakfast is now available. I would highly reccomend this pub for a quiet drink, dinner or even a over night stay as all the rooms have been renovated.parking is limited ,but extra space is available in the side road read more

We visited the Forester and Flower for Sunday Lunch after a long walk. We were really hungry and ready to eat and we were not disappointed! The quality and quantity of the food was second to none.. I had the beef which was tasty and tender and just melted in the mouth. Service was great too and the Landlady couldn't be any more helpful and enthusiastic. I will definitely consider this pub again for future post walk feasts! read more

Had an amazing evening here with partner and parents, a very welcoming atmosphere with very attentive staff and land lady, nothing was to much trouble. We all had starters mains and puddings! we came on recommendation and were not disappointed the food was lovely with perfect wines to compliment it. All in all i would recommend this very quirky and relaxing venue to anyone for any occasion. We will be back! read more

what a fabulously quirky place and lovely landlady and staff ! i have been back to this place several times now and will keep coming !!! they serve great food and drinks. the atmosphere is superb .. and their home made burgers are the best in the world !!!!! Was so disappointed with a recent visit here. The menu has changed DRASTICALLY since our last visit and whilst the atmosphere and look of the place is impressive, the menu and service was most certainly not! Hopefully, this was a one-off but we shall not be visiting again. read more

We took 16 of us here this week to celebrate my graduation and had a fantastic time. The whole group were impressed with the attractively presented food at very reasonable prices. Those on the ale and cider also mentioned how good it was. We'll all be back! read more
