Worst for customer service and terrible service department. DO NOT purchase an RV from here. We bought 2 back when it was Hitch RV. They were so much better. Last 5th wheel we bought from them in October 2024 and in April 2025 Forest River took it over and it went down hill from there. Our new 5th wheel went in April 2025 for bad Inverter, flat tire (we paid for tire warranty) and a dead battery (due to the bad inverter) and asked to get it all fixed as it was still under warranty. Inverter was fixed but we had to buy a new battery and fix our own tire( both under warranty). Forest River was pushing for us to get the yearly roof silicone and wash maintenance for $400 while it was in service. We ended up Spending around $600 to do the basic roof maintenance and wash the vehicle that took 3 weeks to get back to find it was an awful job, not even washed and nothing else was fixed! When no-one at the Berlin office would return our calls or help us for over 2 months my husband called corporate. They attempted to help and said to take it to the Berlin location to have the work redone. We dropped it off on Aug 9 2025 and it was another 3 weeks and no communication when we called to get progress update. We lost all of our summer to use our new 5th wheel, and now they wont fix it saying there is issues with our paid extended warranty as of Oct 24, 2025. We just picked it up today on Oct 25, 2025 and nothing is fixed and it is dirty. Connor and Rob, shame on you!!!! This company, shame on them. Customer service is atrocious. I would never buy from this company again, and we will buy another as this is our 4th trailer. Finally got my camper back after months of aggravation. Our wolf was dropped off on January 7th, only after calling Brian Wolzak from Forest river and asking for his help because we were told our camper could not be worked on by any of the dealerships that do warranty work near us in NJ because "we did not buy from them " So Brian gets us into HITCH RV in Berlin NJ Things went ok in the beginning. Then after a month my husband started calling asking about the status of our camper. Nothing had been done. Their reasons were they didn't have someone to order parts, forest river wasn't sending their parts, or my favorite we were not a priority to them. When my husband called Forest river they claimed to never have received any parts orders for our camper. Every time my husband called hitch rv the women were rude. At one point they told him the camper would be ready to pick up on a Tuesday. Tuesday came and went so he called them again. The camper was not ready. In fact, they were still waiting on parts. They started avoiding my husband's calls because apparently he's the nuisance when you have 40k dollars worth of my property at your dealership and we have no idea what is going on. The last time he called there, the woman Christy that he spoke to got loud with him. He got loud with her and told her not to yell at him and she refused to speak to him after that. Finally they call him and tell him the camper will be ready as soon as they get the regulator for the propane line that they were waiting for. Which was a part that was never ordered in the beginning because they ordered the line instead of the regulator. But when the regulator comes in they have no one to install it. So my husband would need to install it and they want him to send the old regulator back so they can get the reimbursement for the warranty. Right. When my husband gets to the dealership he's escorted outside. The gentleman was polite but informed my husband that moving forward he was no longer welcome in their dealership and their work with us was done. Also our camper should have never been checked in there because we didn't buy from them. The best part is they didn't repair most of the problems, they left a huge mess of garbage from trim and the backsplash piece. So now we are left to try to get the rest of our warranty work finished at another dealership. This is the most ridiculous thing ever that a warranty repair facility for forest river wouldn't fix our camper because we didn't purchase it from them. That they couldn't order parts for 2 weeks because an employee was sick. That they dragged their feet ordering anything. My husband would call forest river to check on parts orders to find out they weren't placed. They refused to provide an invoice on the work they actually did complete. They said it would be emailed and that was not done either. You would think a business's goal would to be to make a customer relationship. That maybe when our warranty is expired, they could become our repair facility. Or when we're ready to purchase a new camper we would turn to them. Where do I start. AVOID THIS BUSINESS! I have purchased several travel trailers here over the years. Each time I spend a considerable amount of money. Our latest purchase close to 40k was brand new. After camping 10 plus times little things started happening. Fridge, power outlet, window trim, etc.... I scheduled a service appointment and took the trailer In 10/2018. Got the trailer back January 7, 2019. Except for one thing, it was routine maintenance. Well, we just got the trailer back. I literally had to call every week and remind them of the service needed, even though I scheduled and walked the trailer with a Rep. I am not naming them due to the fact that they were nice but she didn't pay attention to anything. A month ago I called and they stated the trailer was finished and I asked to go over the repair list. They missed a couple items. When I reminded them, they stated they needed to order more parts. Fast forward, I get a call and they state that the trailer is really ready. I go right away and pick it up. I check all repairs were made. The major problem I took the trailer for was not fixed due to the fact that Keystone didn't approve repair. I wonder why, apparently, Keystone had to request pictures on several occasions and they weren't adequate enough. I get the trailer home and go over the trailer, they cut the underbelly open to explore for something. Half assed taped the underbelly back up. They took my after market vent cover off and never replaced it. Found their tools on the roof and some of the screws but no cover. Stain on the roof where the cover sat for a while but no cover. There was a heater recall. Of course the wood vent heater cover was not screwed back in and no screws present. It seems that all of contents are in the, at least no thieves got into my unlocked unit. I only know this because i stopped by several times to check my trailer. The trailer has mud everywhere, interior and exterior. They park repair units all the way in the back of an immense property, mud and ruts everywhere. I can only imagine the havoc that was thrown at my trailers suspension. We checked the reviews on what previous customers had to say and made the decision to go ahead and take a shot on this dealer despite the negative reviews. What a mistake! Short story- Don't trust a word this dealer tells you. They want to sell you a camper but after you take delivery of the unit they don't want anything to do with you. In the past 2 years this dealer has had at least 3 different service managers which shows there's obviously an issue. Simple warranty work will not be done by Hitch RV and they will give you false promises until your warranty is expired and then act as if it's not their problem anymore. If you want the whole story read below, if not read the other reviews and find a better dealer that cares about customer retention and fair business practices. My wife and I purchased a Puma travel trailer from Hitch RV in Berlin, NJ and took delivery in March 2021. We knew about the negative reviews about service but being handy I figured I just wanted to purchase from a local dealer for warranty repairs. The day we had scheduled to pick up the new travel trailer we were less than impressed. We were scheduled for demo at 10am, the employee who was handling demos was unavailable until 11:30 ok no big deal. During the demo, the dealer employee made a list of issues with the unit that would be addressed : outdoor speaker didn't work, outdoor griddle top was rusted, cabinet under sink was bowed, front cap decal pealing and a cut in the linoleum near a heat vent. Being as none of these issues were going to keep us from being able to camp, we left that day with the unit. We were told told that the dealer would order the parts that needed to be replaced. We used the camper for the season and called in November to get the camper in to have the delivery issues addressed along with some issues we had with the camper that season: Electric fireplace stopped working, exit door not operating properly, slide weather stripping coming out during travel, and the awning retracting unevenly. We dropped the camper off in Jan 2022 and were assured our issues we going to be fixed. In March 2022 we went to pick up the unit and found that in the 2 months they had the trailer the didn't do anything to it. I has a lengthy conversation with the service manager and I was assured that everything is going to be taken care of but they are having problems getting parts because of covid. I left with the unit as I has reservations the following week and was told I would be contacted when the items came in. I followed up in June 2022 and was told they had a fireplace but were waiting of the speaker and cabinet door. I again asked about the other parts and was told they weren't in yet. I contacted the dealer in December and made an appointment to drop the camper off in February 2023 as all the parts were finally in. When I dropped the unit off I was told the fireplace, cabinet door, and speaker would be addressed. I was then informed that any other claims were now being denied as the camper is out of warranty. The new service manager would not honor anything the previous manager and I had discussed. As I tried to explain what had been agreed upon I was told again that the only items they would address were the cabinet, speaker, and fireplace. I then mentioned that I should have trusted the reviews and purchased from a different dealer. I was then rudely told that I can take my camper and go to another dealer because now they won't work on it. I reminded the manager that I have documentation of this whole lengthy process and that claiming it's out of warranty was not acceptable or legal. At this point there was no point in trying to do any future business with this dealer without involving the camper manufacturer and an attorney. We looked at a year old Mallard, on oct 6 2020. We were able to agree on a price the next day and told that we could bring it home on Saturday. We were told how the RV was totally inspected and any repairs if needed would be made, or we would be advised and could decide to cancel or purchase. When we went to pick up the trailer it was not in the "prep/demo area" it was still out on the sales line, and none of the items we were told they were going to fix were done. I made a list of items we wanted fixed that we saw and sales told us it would be ready the next week. You can pick it up and go camping right away they said. We were stalled until Saturday before Thanksgiving as they were really backed up. When I arrived to get instructed on set up and operation, I saw nothing was cleaned, wiped or sanitized (per their strict Covid program) There was no shore line to power the trailer and demonstrate operation, no gas line for the outside grill. Everything was hurried and brief. The 3 to 4 hour lesson was rushed down to about 90 minutes as it was closing time. The next day as we were cleaning the trailer we discovered the skylight in the bath was broken. We took pictures and emailed hitch, on Monday I called our salesman and he told me it was a service dept issue, not sales. Instead of forwarding me to service he just hung up. Jeff in service was great, he looked at the pictures and the leaves and dirt in the skylight and agreed it was old damage. Jeff said he would order a new skylight cover and install it. We decided they would make the repair when my license plates came. The plates didn't come till the end of January. At that time Jeff told me that sales would not pay for the repair. He forwarded me to the sales manager who totally blew me off. I tried to get him to talk to Jeff and look at the pictures, he told me people brake thing all the time and lie to them about it. WISH I could say my experience was great. IT WASN'T. My salesman Juan was great but other than that. I bought a camper had to wait 20 something days for them to fill the propane tanks and change the battery. They never cleaned it out or did any of the operational checks. Had to bring it back the next day, over a hour drive each way for them to fix the hot water heater and wasting a whole day. After expressing my displeasure with the sales manager Scott, he said he would compensate me for my troubles. Now 1 month later and NOTHING! I wish things were better. This company refuses to service the trailers it sells. Have contacted them thru multiple means and they just seem to want to block responses and not answer the phone. They also have plenty of time to post tik toks, and delete negwtive customer comments from their social media sites. Purchased an 80k trailer with workmanship issues last year, and they still have not found the time to service this for me. After seeing other reviews on here averaging 1 star, this is not the exception to the rule, but rather their Standard Operating Procedure. Really deserve 0 stars! If you don't have $100k to spend these "people" don't want your business. We tried really hard to buy a $15,000 used hybrid camper from this place. I know it's not much to them but it was a big purchase for us. Was paying cash and after we agreed on a price they pushed back the pick up date 3 times before finally said they would have to get back to us because they were really busy, supposedly. We then had to keep calling them to set a date to come give them our hard earned money and take it off their lot. The day we were supposed to finally pick it up they left us standing by the reception desk for close to an hour no chairs or benches or anything. Clearly the receptionist was embarrassed by this as she was the only one who made any attempt to get us help. I could see our salesman sitting at his desk the entire time acting like he didn't see us and not once during the 2+ hours we were there did he move from his desk to talk to us. When they finally did get someone to come out and act like they cared, none of the paperwork we needed to sign was done and said it would be about another hour or so to get it done. Upon our walk through, not one single thing they said was going to be cleaned was done. He called an older lot attendant over and started berating him in front of us to the point that I was embarrassed for the poor guy. They had him do a half assed wipe down of the bumpers, rims, storage access doors and propane tanks with a dirty rag and then tried blaming that guy for nothing being done. Also, during the walk through we discovered a few small pin holes in the tent ends. They said don't worry we'll get those fixed for you. After some more standing in the parking lot waiting we saw the same guy that wiped it down walk over to our camper with a ladder and a roll of some clear duct tape type product we had had it that was the last straw. When we told them we weren't paying the agreed price if they were just going to duct tape the holes and that that solution was unacceptable for us the guy's poor attitude got even worse and basically complained that we weren't spending enough money for them to be "going through all this trouble" for "some old used camper". Thought my experience was an anomoly, until I started reading these reviews, so have decided to post my nightmare as a warning to others. I had excellent credit when I showed interest in a small travel trailer and requested financing. Within one day, even though I had been approved for a loan, Hitch's loan officer had run my credit through many lending institutions, dropping my credit score significantly. When confronted about this, his excuse was that he was working to get me the best financing terms that he could. Instead, he tanked my credit score. Needless to say, I will never do business with this dealer and would absolutely, positively, not recommend anyone purchase from them. read more

Hitch RV- Berlin Nj RUN- Run as fast as you can. Don't talk to anyone and certainly do not sign anything. We were out shopping on Memorial day 2019 and stopped into Hitch RV in Berlin NJ simply because they were open. A very, very costly mistake I admit. We were Shown several models of the same trailer, the Cherokee by salesman Mike Rudder. We did get very excited and put in a credit application just to see if we could get approved. We just purchased a new truck so we were not sure if we could even afford it, but we were willing to attempt it. It was a holiday and we knew the banks were closed and it would take a few days to get the answer but we were indeed excited at the prospect. We asked questions regarding leaks and were told there were no history of leaks with the trailer. We got home and checked the ratings and reviews on Hitch RV and the Cherokee to find that Hitch RV has a terrible reputation and the Cherokee didn't have complaints regarding a roof leak, its the plumbing that leaks. We called the first thing the next morning and were told that the deal was done. No cancelling , no 3 day notice to cancel. We were going to be stuck with this 5th wheel. I called M and T bank and told them that we wanted to withdraw our application. They said that they didn't even get the paperwork yet and that we had to go through Hitch RV to cancel. I told them that Hitch RV said we could not cancel and the bank said it sounded like a new strong arm sales tactic and they would report it upwards. The finance manager was off and we called the very next morning to cancel the application. The finance manage was finally reached and he said." no problem" No problem. A week later we got a nasty email from the salesman threatening us that they would call the police and report our camper, our trade in - in our driveway- stolen if we didn't bring it in and pick up the new 5th wheel. We are still in shock. After contacting our attorney we were told that in the fine print it said that we could have an arbitration but that could cost us up to $3000 dollars plus attorney fees. So our choices are, to bring our trade and pick up the trailer we know already has issues and we simple do not want, or risk paying attorney and arbitration fees or having the police show up at our door even though we have the title in our hands. I suspect that M and T bank is a part of the problem since they would not let us withdraw our application, only the salesman could and he just refused. I attempted to contact the owner several times to see if we could even upgrade to a more suitable 5th wheel but the owner never bothered to call me back, just a call from the nasty business manager. We decided to pick up the 5th wheel and keep an eye on what could be potential problems. we decided to contact the Attorney General for the strong arm tactics, as well as the bank __ since we are now on the hook for a 15 year loan that we could not cancel or upgrade. However, since taking ownership 5 months ago they have been horrible in getting things repaired that were not working (water heater, chair) when we took ownership. Dan Hayden at Hitch RV was very helpful in finding another trailer for us, as we were ready for a trade. We traded our Bullet 220RBI we had purchased from Hitch RV a few years ago, for a Dutchman Denali. The Bullet was a great trailer, and with luck the Dutchman will be just as good. For me, going from a 25' to a 33' trailer was a big deal, and Dan made the changeover easy. Jorge from service went over the whole trailer explaining everything and answering all my questions. The service department setup our WDH, which was something new to me, as on our smaller trailer we didn't need one. After explaining how to set it up, and unhooking it, I was very comfortable. Without Dan's help, I probably would have stayed with a smaller unit as that is what I was comfortable with. My wife is happier with the larger Dutchman, and loves the extra room, and counter space in the kitchen. Thanks to all the staff, and if we should look for another unit, Hitch RV will be the first place we will look for our third purchase. read more

So many bad reviews, but I take these with a grain of salt - especially issues with financing and credit. It's not the dealership's fault if you don't pay your bills, overspend your credit cards, and become delinquent. That aside, I'm crafting this review based on my experience and will update it fairly once I pick up the RV. As of today, I am over 3-weeks into a deal with Hitch in Delaware and I still don't have the RV that I put money down and am paying cash when I pick up. Right hand does not know what the left hand is doing, nothing but excuses for lack of action, no responsiveness and follow up without me calling them out, and several promises made by Lonnie for communication that did not happen. The NJ site has been good thus far, but we will see how things go. Look for an update soon. Currently Delaware gets MINUS 5 stars and NJ has thus far earned +4 stars. Final verdict TBD. read more

0 stars I have never had a worse experience with another company in my whole life. I've held off for months in making a comment about Hitch because I have given them so many chances to make things right which they failed at every single time. First, they ran my credit about 5 times when I only gave them permission to run it ONE time. I got over it when I was approved so I moved forward with the purchase. When I went to pick it up it was dirty. It still had stickers on it, none of the corrections were made that were supposed to be made (scratches, table replacement, etc) and it was so dirty. I still gave them another chance and said I'd be back to pick it up after they actually got the camper prepped for pick up. We picked it up, brought it home, and started getting it ready for our first camping trip which was supposed to happen a few weeks later. When we started packing up we pulled a storage drawer out and actually found black mold under the drawer. They said they would fix it so when we took the camper back to have it fixed the service department actually did further damage and put a hole through the roof. They could not figure out how to fix the damage on their own so it took them about 2 months to actually get the camper back to us. It was there from 1/2 till 3/13 which was supposed to be a 2 week fix. We got our $40,000 2020 camper back today and it is literally a lemon. The amount of damage done is unbelievable. There are scratches, dings, and holes all over the camper and our personal items inside. I am so sick over this whole situation. I would highly recommend never ever doing business with hitch. You will absolutely regret it. read more

We bought a RV from them the other day. It went smooth, the service techs I feel did a good job in getting us road ready. The folks in side were nice, parts etc. The salesmen John Black did a great job for us. He even got us a little more savings at the end of the deal also. There has been numerous of times I call regarding my recreational vehicle from my salesman to the owners and no return call or they put you on hold and then they hang up the phone. My husband and I just went out to this terrible dealership not only to look at a r.v. but to buy one. We met with a salesman Denny, we live in queens ny, I am 8 months pregnant the drive was not great for me, but I made an effort to see the r.v. that we felt was best for us and our growing family. On May 23rd. 2020. We arrived and Denny took us straight to the r.v. which was a Puma Palomino 2 bedroom 39 DBT. We sat with him ready to make a deal with final numbers, first #'s after trading we were going to put down $23,000, we signed the bill of sale and went to the car, ready to go home, Denny came out and said their was a mistake, and that the final number was $26,000 because they forgot to add the numbers of washer and dryer, it was hand written in, but the numbers was not added in. The plan was we was going to wire the money because we did not have a check with us that day. My husband has been calling Denny, he wont call us back, upon not answering phone calls, spoke to someone else that basically told my husband yet another number a few thousand dollars more than what we signed on the bill of sale. This is not right, we have never dealt with anything remotely close to this. My husband spoke to the manager Scott and he basically didnt care on the situation and the disloyalty. I didnt take the time to read reviews before going out to the dealership, and my oh my this is being done to everyone, how does this company stay afloat lying and treating customers in this such matter. I wrote an email to Scott on how awful they treated us this Monday, it's now Friday and he has yet to even call us back to make things right. Stay away. I've contacted the Better Business Bureau, everyone should do the same. This unprofessional incompetent company needs to shut down. read more

Everybody has their own experiences but I have to say mine at Hitch RV was top notch. From my salesman Mike R., to Mike G in finance, Lou in service and Brandon who came out 3 hours to fix a minor problem service as been outstanding. During the entire process you never had to wait to hear back from anyone. Bringing our new camper out to our campsite and picking up the old one was key and yeah don't get me wrong I know that is built into the price but who cares I didn't have to deal with like at other places. Lou was great in service when we experienced a minor problem scheduling us right away. And Brandon coming all the way out took him longer to get here then the time it took to fix. Had trailer for three months now. 1. Slide misalignment 2. Window seal pops out 3. Inside wall panel is buckling 4. Slide pulled trim of inside 5. Fuses that keep popping. When we called the service department we were told that it must be an electrical problem. 6. And the finale!!! We have a leak now. Every time it rains there is a puddle on the bathroom floor. Ed the salesman had to keep go asking questions about any kind of financing or title paperwork. Dave the co owner is a fast talker who talked us into a king quest satilite system that mounts to the roof. In three months it has worked 1 week. After looking at the system and replacing wires that were mailed to me for me to replace and fix, I found that the system isn't caulked or sealed at the roof. Maybe where the water is coming from. Multiple calls by my wife to the lot with no return calls. At this point I have an 18k pile of rolling firewood. Do not buy from this lot. If you need to buy in the Milford area, there are other companies in the area. read more

Trust me If you see a positive review for Hitch RV it's because they are family or getting paid. Once you make your purchase they got what they wanted and will go out of their way to not help you. They financed me through a bank that didn't know who I was. Because the paperwork was wrong. Bought my camper in July and still have no tags. They will not answer the phone. If you have any problems with your camper forget about getting service. my black tank handle was missing( didn't find out until it was time to dump). Ended up having to order from another dealer. RUN, DON'T WALK! Stay Away from HITCH-RV!!! My wife and I shopped around for a 5th wheel until we found Hitch-RV on rvtrader. Usually I am good about reading reviews but this time it just slipped through the cracks before I agreed to purchase the unit. The price was fair and the salesman Johnny Black was easy to work with. The problems started when we arrived at the dealership and found that the brand new 2020 5th wheel was damaged. The guys continued installing our new hitch and continued the walk-through, confident that management would find a reasonable solution to the problem. I believe most people probably would have just walked away and not been willing to buy an expensive brand new unit with damage but I was trying to not blow up the whole experience, since after all we drove about 4 hours to get there! Long story short, the management at this company is about as bad as it gets. Having the unit fixed 4 hours away made no sense to us. They would not give us any money back on the sale. They would not ship us the parts to fix this unit. They would not pay to have a local RV dealer fix the problem. They never once apologized for the issue because they simply did not care. They treated my wife with disrespect and she was literally crying in the showroom and they did not concern themselves with it. Corona virus has allowed all of these RV dealers to be as busy as they have ever been - and this will weed out the pros and the scum. Sooner or later, C-19 will end but the good RV dealers will surely outlast the crap ones like HitchRV. The management (namely the general manager and the sales manager Scott at the Berlin, NJ store) are the exact portrait of what you would not want your business to become, or be represented by. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE. I have found plenty of places out there who will treat you much better than this place. Absolutely horrible!! read more

I placed an interest in a trailer they had on their website. A salesman contacted me via email. We talked back and forth and we finally went in. We were looking at 2 specific trailers when we arrived and the salesman Jonny was there and ready. He took us to see what we requested but I guess he had a feeling we weren't satisfied. He suggested seeing another trailer and told us it was above our price range. We looked and fell in love! It hit all our needs and the price wasn't that far from our budget after sale. It was easy, no pressure and enjoyable to work with HitchRv and Jonny! They're even helping us with our hitch set up!! Financial guy Mike was also awesome bc he was able to get our rate lower then what we were quoted!! Win-win!!! read more

Sadly, simple customer communication goes a long way. We received one email about the matter, in which no information was provided. When confirming information was requested via email and multiple voice messages, i.e., date, check number, amount, we were ignored. We were forced to pay the installments for two loans to avoid damaging our credit. Furthermore, to personally attack a customer, who is protecting their credit and making payments for a product which they no longer possess is reprehensible. As a matter of courtesy and respect, customers deserve to know the status of any aspect of a transaction, especially in this technologically advanced era. read more
