The facilities were clean and neat from the lobby to the room we stayed in. Most importantly, the customer service was excellent. Our reservation for 4 adults was booked through a 3rd party which was promptly found and our check-in was quick. We enjoyed the complimentary cookies and water after our late night arrival! When the first room did not meet our expectations, we received prompt and efficient service with a sincere apology and an immediate "fix" from the Assistant General Manager, Darius Mullen! He even took time to converse with our daughter, that it was busy because of Hampton's graduation, and their common interest in the area. When we needed an additional towel the next morning-before Housekeeping had started, Mr. Mullen came through. When we checked out, Mr. Mullen extended thanks and invited us back! He could have, like other experiences we've had with "chain hotels", treated us with mundane business service, but he was genuinely interested in making sure we had a pleasant stay-no matter that it was just overnight! His assistance gave us a sense of calm after a long drive side a sad occasion. We hope Mr. Darius Mullen receives this review.

I booked a two-night stay on April 14 at approximately 10:00 a.m. for a work trip. Due to my work event being canceled, I canceled the reservation the same evening around 8:00 p.m.--within hours of booking. Despite this, I was charged a $169 cancellation fee, which is more than the cost of a single night. I was told this was "policy," and my request to reduce the fee was denied. Even more concerning, I was refused the opportunity to speak with a manager. Charging such a high cancellation fee within the same day of booking--especially under these circumstances--is unreasonable. The lack of customer support and refusal to escalate the issue made this one of the worst service experiences I've had. I strongly caution others about booking through their third-party reservation partners, as you may be subject to excessive fees and no meaningful customer support

We opted for this one due to it having the kitchenette. We're a family of 6 so it only seemed more reasonable and reliable. The place itself wasn't bad. Yes, there may be some deug activity within the area. I never saw it, however did smell some marijuana in the hallway the first night. Whatever, not a huge deal. The rooms are a little small but again, not a big deal we were mainly spending the evenings/nights there. Here were my big issues. We were told that we wouldn't have to bring anything for the kitchenette except food. Great, awesome. Our stuff was packed and put in a PODs system while our house got fixed. The first night we were there we asked for dishes and pots/pans. We were told they'd get that for us. We got tired of waiting and ended up going out to eat. The next day we asked 3 more times, only to be told they didn't have enough. I finally went out and bought pots/pans and plates, forks, spoons, etc. Money we weren't even supposed to be spending because you know, they were supposed to supply that. Had we known that from the beginning we would have just bought our own from home before it got packed up. They did NOT let us know that there was a trash room. So our trash for the first 4 days was piling up. We're a family of 6 so of course there's going to be trash. The rooms were not cleaned the entire time we were there. The towels didn't even get changed out until the day before we checked out only because we got tired of waiting and ended up going to ask for new ones. We have a younger child and sometimes he can get a bit messy so trying to pick up crumbs off the floor because they never actually cleaned the floors while we were there was interesting. I ended up going out and buying clorox wipes so I could wipe down the counters, tub, sink, toilet, etc. I want to stress that our expectations aren't that high. We're a military family, we're used to being in hotels/motels. We're used to extended stays before or after moves. This is legit stuff were used to. We just were expecting a little more than what we received. All in all, the staff is nice and polite. The rooms aren't horrible. Just bring your own stuff when staying here.

The bed was comfortable, the heater (winter time stay) worked well, and check-in was smooth with friendly staff who handled my check-in smoothly. Now, I did get there late at night so there was no waiting. One big plus I will comment on is the free breakfast, which was convenient and a nice way to start the day without having to leave the hotel. The location is also a strong point, as it's within close proximity to the mall and the casino, which makes it easy to walk or take a quick drive. I didn't use the free shuttle service but it is available. Overall, this is a reliable hotel that delivers what you expect. Comfortable, convenient, and good value.

It turned out amazing though because the hotel has a pool, and my family had it all to themselves. They had an absolute blast. Secondly, there is a free laundry room which was great because we had only pajamas, and I anted to get our clothes clean before another whole day of travel. Thirdly, the breakfast is really above and beyond. Last but most important: The service was 15 out of 10. Diamond was stellar, kind, generous, and such a hard worker. I haven't had such excellent service in a long time.

The parking lot was well-lit and overall had a very safe feel to it with a lot of convenient parking available. As it is located directly across the street from Arundel Mills Mall, it is very close to entertainment, shopping and a vast array of restaurants to satisfy almost any palete. Upon walking in to the beautifully decorated and clean lobby, we were met by a very welcoming and friendly front-desk employee who was eager to assist us with our reservation. The luggage cart was readily available, clean and well maintained and handled our luggage with ease. As we arrived at Room 304, the key-card worked flawlessly the first time (and every time throughout the entire 3-night stay). When we first walked in, it was obvious that the house-keeping staff at this hotel takes their jobs very seriously, as the room was emaculately cleaned and well stocked with all toiletries, towels, coffee, tea, linens, and waste-paper liners. Also, I was pleasantly surprised that the water pressure was as strong as it was in the sink and shower as we were staying on the third floor. The in-room entertainment center was very easy and intuitive. Connecting our personal streaming services was easy to do to keep the kiddos entertained between adventures away from the hotel. Plus, on the mornings before leaving for our daily adventures in the immediate area, we indulged in the delicious breakfast that offered a wide variety of breakfast foods. The only gripe that I really have with this hotel was the indoor pool area. My youngest two sons were looking forward to using the facilities during the entire drive up to Maryland, and while they did, in fact, have a great time in the pool and spa, my wife and I were overly concerned during their entire activity due to the material that was used to make the pool deck, tile. It was extremely slippery, and I almost fell multiple times despite walking very carefully. Luckily, noone in my party was injured. Further, the spa, while nice and hot (100º F water according to my Apple Watch), the jets in the spa were inoperable during our visit, so it felt more like I was sitting in a chorinated bath rather than a hot tub. Even with all that, when we arrived at the pool there were only 5 towels available on the rack. As we were drying off and getting ready to return to our room, another couple arrived, and I warned them of the danger of the slippery surfaces and informed them that I would alert the front desk employee of the lack of available towels. Upon hearing the news, the front-desk attendant was very apologetic and accommodating, immediately getting up to correct the problem. Despite the pool area, I would 100% recommend this hotel to any traveler passing through Hanover, MD.

Despite Pillowgate, this hotel was pretty good. They have a decent restaurant/bar in the lobby, a concierge lounge for Platinum and up members, and a hotel shuttle. The lounge had breakfast and evening snacks which was nice. And coffee, water, and soda pop all day long (till they close at 10p).
