I went in for what the computer said was a cylinder 3 (PO303) misfire and he wanted a whole tune up and to change the coil when I told the rental owner he didn't want the tune up just the coil he said I was wasting time and told me to leave as if I wanted to pay $350 after you told me it would be $225 + tax and I still had to pay $60 for them to tell me what the computer said and stop the labor so I could leave! Obviously could've got that for FREE down the street only reason I let him do it is bc the $60 was going to my service. We love shitty service read more

Been going here for years and this place is always busy. The service and pricing is straightforward and fair. My latest experience was dropping off a 09 pathfinder due to a major power steering issue. Once I got the call for the quote for the steering rack, I immediately started to look up how much I could get the part for. Obviously as a business there's a little mark up, but the price was in line with what I saw. Once I gave the approval, an hour or so later I received a call saying that once the removed the part, they were able to clearly see that it was the high pressure hose that needed to be changed and not the whole steering rack. They gave me the updated estimate and completed the work the same day. It was a difference of almost 500 dollars. That type of honesty is what keeps me coming back. This auto shop used to be good. My family had been taking our cars there for year but no more. Enough is enough. I recently took my car a 2015 Chevy Sonic to Abdule because the temperature sensor light came on and the radiator fan wasn't working. Abdule and his team changed the temperature thermostat and the o2 sensor for almost $900. He called me to pick it up. I got to the first stop light by the shop and the car shut off. I turned around and took it back. Then he said it was the intake manifold which he charged me $125 just for the part because my dad and I made a fussy so he didn't charge us labor which was another $800. He called us again to pick the car up. This time I got halfway across the beltway and boom the car shuts off again the fan is not working again. I take the car back for the third time he say oh it's blowing a fuse. He changes the fuse. He then proceeded to jury rig the car. So he take a wire attaches it to one of the fuses in the fuse book bypass the radiator relay cord and connects it to the fan. He calls us again to pick the car up. 3 days later the fan goes out again. The wire he uses burnt out now my car is in limp mode and I can't go more than 20 mph. read more

I use to live within walking distance of Forestville Auto (but have since moved) and I have taken my 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis there since 1987 and my 1991 Ford ranger pickup since 1991. I still own the Mercury and today I had an alternator replaced at Forestville auto. I've always had good experiences in dealing with Mark, who I believe is the owner. If you have not Delt with Mark, his personality might come off as somewhat intimidating. Notwithstanding, I always felt that I was getting an honest diagnosis of the problem and a fair price for repairs. I never felt that I was getting ripped off. I ordered an engine (Short Block or long block, can't remember so many years ago) had it shipped to Forestville auto for installation. Never had a problem with the engine and it is still purring like a kitten. The work done there included mostly minor repairs (with the exception of the engine replacement). Finally, I recall the lady attendant, with her young pre-school age daughter who is probably in college by now , working behind the window. This attendant has worked there for as long as I can remember; at least 20 year or more. Her exceptional customer service has not changed in over 20 years. She has one of the sincerest customer service personalities that I have encountered. I don't usually write reviews, but I feel as if I know these folks, not as friends, because they don't know whom I am, but from the point of view of a customer who likes businesses that provide exceptional quality and customer service. I'm sure everyone's experiences with Forestville Auto will be different., but my comments are merely meant to share my own personal experiences....not to solicit business for this company. Unprofessional and the worst customer service, I called them on Thursday evening to bring my car in on Friday morning soon as they open. Once I got there I was told by a manager and a guy name Abdul to bring it back Monday morning because the lot was full. I asked if I could leave it due to the fact that it's really not drivable and I had to go to work. They told me no. Came back Monday morning the shop opens at 7 no one didn't show till 730ish, when it was time to look at my car he didn't see the problem I was told by two different people but told me it was a different problem. I told him ok I have car shield, the mechanics have to call them so they can pay for the problem, he told he wasn't going to do it and that I need to do it (I'm not mechanic I can't explain mechanic work) once I called car shield they told me that the shop needed to call them. Once I called the shop back Abdul said we're close and I'm going home come in the morning????????????????????? I came the next day and pull my car from there. I been patronizing Forest Auto for many year. But the last few years the service at Forest Auto been TERRIBLE went for one car for service engine light and needed fix to pass emissions went by his diagnosis purchase parts paid almost $700 for parts & labor supposed to be fixed and it never was after going back to the shop 5+ times and rediagnosis still read same problem and failed emission. Then went to get air conditioner serviced in my other vehicle told him it was a leak because it's blowing hot he charged me $300 to charge it, and it didn't last a week when I went back he said he didn't have the nozzle to put the dye in to check for leak he said he ordered it that was in June 2021 it's now Aug 16, 2021 still no nozzle, so why would you put refrigerate in if you didn't have the nozzle to check for leak and keep my $300 and I still have no air conditioning after calling back and forth with the non professional receptionist that be acting like he a mechanic and not certified to even touch the cars. This has been over $1000 worth of nothing because neither problem has been fixed but he has my money. I advise you NOT to patronize this business they take in a lot of business and DO NOT fix your vehicle maybe that's the problem now I use to trust Abdul but now I see that he is not to be after all the years 20+ that I patronized this business Forest Auto. This place is a scam and the manager is very chauvinistic in his comments. He told me things like "be quiet 2 men are talking" and then said "have your husband call me so I can explain the situation to him then maybe you'll understand". I took my car there for a check engine check. I was told I needed a tune up and 1 coil replaced. I was told the price for the repair and agreed to the services. I picked my car up at 2 p.m. and drove for 45 minutes and my check engine light came on again. I immediately called and spoke with the manager Cornell and told him my check engine light was on again. He told me to bring the car back and when I brought the car back one of the mechanics plugged a device to my car and explained it is my Cadillac converter. The manager then told me that it's not that the Cadillac converter was gone bad but that it was dirty. He advised my husband to purchase a Cadillac converter cleaner, which we were to insert an our gas tank, and then fill our car up with gas twice.I was told if the check engine light had not turned off to return in 2 weeks. I called the shop back after going to another auto repair shop where I was told I would need to replace the 02 sensor and not the Cadillac converter this was all within a two-day time period. When I spoke with the manager again I told him that I paid to have my check engine light checked and they should have found everything that was wrong with the car that day he then proceeded to tell me that he told me about the Cadillac converter and the censor, which he never did, nor was that written on my receipt. Personally, I believe the shop purposely did not tell me about the O2 sensor and hopes that after two weeks I'd return and find my O2 sensor also needed to be replaced so they could then charge me labor fees for a second time. I would not recommend anyone take their car there for service, it is definitely a rip-off and the manager is very disrespectful to customers. Furthermore, I asked for the owner's contact information and the manager refused to give it to me. As a matter of fact, he told me if I wanted to speak to the owner I will need to come in person and speak with him on the phone there. I told him I could come in and speak with the owner and asked what time they would be closing the manager told me 7 p.m. I told him I will be there by 6:10 pm. When I arrived the shot was closed.I also believe that was done in spite because the shop closed at 5:00 and as a manager he must have known that. I just don't understand why he would treat a customer like this or why he would decline giving me the owners contact information. If he was honest and did nothing wrong he would have provided me with the owner's contact information. read more

Abdul the Manager seemed nice to have my business at his shop when i came to get brake service for my 1994 lexus gs 300 back in May 2017... i must say that i was there before in the past they changed my Starter on the for a good price..... but this last time when they did my brakes... 2 months later after they service my Lexus my brakes and brake Caliper came off my car as i was driving home i couldnt not stop my car i had no brakes on the driver side of my car...the only think that stop me from crashing was i was going up hill as i made my right turn... when i got out to see whqt,had happened my brake Caliper was stuck in my rim.... i ended up getting my car towed to another shop to get fixed... the first thing i was asked was who did my brakes. .. Forest Auto service center was the last shop to work on my car... i admit when i did hit a pot hole i would hear a noise under the car sounding like something was going to pop or brake... and i thought it was my lower arm control because when they did my brakes i was showed wear and tear there and it needed to be replaced. .. come to find out Abduls machanic LEFT OFF 1 BOLT ON MY BRACKET and that cause me to loose my brakes and it destroyed my brake line also... no one had touched my car for any kind of service after i left that shop.. i didn't change a tire or get them rotated . So i know Forest Auto didnt complete there job... the Hispanic genetleman was the guy that worked on my car.. so once i knew what happened to my car i said i would call Abdul and explain what happen to me first then let him know that my car was there last and it happened at his shop i still have the paper work i paid them for... like i said i Abdul had been so cool and up front with me and his service up to this call... the first thing he said was how old is your car... i said 1994.. he said man get out outter here your car is old thats not my problem and stated that if his guy left that bolt off that it wouldn't have stayed on that long.. so i said to him after i did the work to fix my car ill bring the old 1 to him to show him the part since he said my Thread was no good thats how my bolt came off... Thats bullshit my car wasnt old when i bought it to your shop to get work done on it... my thought process is if you have a old csr and you buy new parts and put those new parts on your car it makes your car safe and new again... all i wanted was them to own up for the mistake that happened at his shop like i said i had a good relationship with this shop before this happened. .. because of our last conversation with Mr Abdul i will not take my old 1994 Lexus GS 300 or any car back there in life. . Im just glad to be safe and i had just dropped my son off at school school this situation could've been very bad... i share this with customers of the future that will take there old cars to this shop DONT GO... and if you get work done to your car have them walk you threw show what they done instead of sitting in that small cramp lobby or going home while waiting for you OLD car to get fixed.... The niceness they show to get your money and service will not be shown when you call back with a issue that they did.. take your car to a real shop and pay for real service that you can trust... not these side shops that give you a low price and you like wow why are they so,cheap compared to everyone else... this is why... im living proof of that... i almost crashed and was seriously injured to that Hispanic guy lack job on my brakes on my 1994 Lexus GS 300.. On May 1st I took my car to Forest auto to have my Transmission replaced it took them almost 2 weeks paid $1890, 1 or 2 days after driving it the transmission was slipping again. Took it back, they told me they put a bad one in and they're waiting for a new one to come in and they will replace that one.Well 3 weeks later I pick up my car, drove it for an hour and learned that I now needed a Starter.. WTF Took it back, the mechanic says I know it need the starter but bring it back tomorrow Ill put it on for you.(huh) Took it back the next day for the starter, picked it up Now I need a wheel alignment and tells me maybe someone had a accident or hit a pot hole..
