I love that this place is in my neighborhood and that I get to stop by at the drop of a dime knowing that I will have a delicious meal. I personally enjoy coming by myself and taking a seat at the bar. Their bourbon smash is one of the best I've ever had and I always get it. They also have an extensive wine list. The menu is a fusion between Moroccan and Italian cuisine. They have a ton of lamb dishes which is right up my alley. I think I've tried them all. My fave is the lamb risotto. The shank is soooo tender and the risotto is full of cream and flavor. The Moroccan spices really elevate each dish. I've also tried the lamb couscous, which is tasty also. Today I tried a Moroccan lamb sausage that was on the appetizer menu. Again, the Moroccan spices made it delicious. I also had the burrata salad. I will say that the tomatoes were a bit soft for my liking for this type of salad. However, they did put some type of spice mixture on top, which made it very flavorful and made up for the soft tomato's. I typically expect an heirloom tomato to be pretty sturdy. Their bread service is phenomenal: two soft dinner rolls, with a trio of hummus, olive tapenade, and oil and balsamic vinegar, that comes with every entree. It's truly irresistible. I love this place and have never had a bad meal here.

"Hook and Hoof" has been in downtown Willoughby for quite a while so they must be doing something right. And the fact that there aren't that many high level dining establishments in the Willoughby area helps. The first thing I noticed was the facility is very narrow which lends to a crowded feel. And all you need is one overly boisterous table (which was right next to us) and the noise level can be overwhelming. The server we had for the evening was very pleasant. She did a good job being timely with everything. But, it was odd that she often did not listen to an entire request (or maybe just couldn't hear) before walking away. There were a couple of requests for simple standard items that she wasn't even sure they had. I just found it odd. The food however was excellent. The kitchen staff did an exemplary job all night. I had a marvelous cocktail from the well stocked bar. And my double cut pork chop was fantastic. So full of flavor, juicy, cooked exactly as I requested. The sides that accompanied it were just tender enough without being mushy. And my banana cream pie was great. Overall, I give "Hook and Hoof" a solid 4. I definitely can see us going back. They deserve another try. You should give them a try and see for yourself.

The prices were astronomical so my daughter and I just ordered meatballs and potato wedges. I really wanted fish but there was only ONE fish dish on the menu and I didn't like how it was going to be prepared. There's a big disclaimer at the bottom of the menu that says "no substitutions or modifications". Geez, for a $40 fish plate you couldn't have modified it for me?? The meatballs were good, but came out luke warm. The wedges were good. The atmosphere was nice. For 3 meatballs, 5 potato wedges, and a 15% tip (she lost 5% due to not asking us for drinks) our bill came to $45. I *wish* I was joking. We won't be back. I honestly feel like I just got ripped off.

I came here for dinner with my parents during the final four weekend. It was busy but not crazy…read morebusy. It looked like they had a lot of open tables but that could be because they didn't have enough servers or cooks...who knows. I think I'm writing all this about their possible staffing problem because I feel bad about what I'm about to say next. Service: our server was kind but absent. It took over 90 min to get our meals. We had empty water cups for 20 -30 minutes. I mention this because there were other servers or managers or bussers (no clue who they were) refilling water cups in our section that didn't come to our table or the table next to ours. We kinda bonded during this experience lol. I waited too long to post this review to give honest specific feedback on the food quality. I do remember that I was satisfied with my meal. Also a manager eventually came to our table and gave us dessert on the house! The dining room is well maintained and nice to be in. I used to do to the Hyde park in Columbus, Ohio on high street downtown and was expecting the same service level. I did NOT get that level of service. Maybe it was a tough day? Honestly the manager apologizing and acknowledging the problem is the only reason I'll return to find out.

Went back again after our sub par experience 6 months ago, for happy hour. We got the "sirloin…read moresliders" and Wagyu carpaccio. The sliders were ground beef, not sirloin steak, and the "Mesclun spring mix" ( fancy salad) in the center of the carpaccio was literally half rotten. They comped the carpaccio, but this being the second time that the food was extremely sub par for a Prime Steakhouse, we cannot recommend it and we will not go back when we returning Cleveland again. Sorry guys!
