We tried to give them another shot through the phone. Denied and told we have to order tomorrow over the phone. Large orders are a no go at this location. It's a shame. I explained what happened to us last order and no attempt to leave a better impression or provide customer service. Thumbs down read more

Loved the ambiance! Felt like a New York vibe and they have a pretty cool playlist. We got 2 cheese burgers, one with bacon and one with jalapeño. I would definitely recommend with bacon , the bacon was so delicious and crispy! Service was great as well, definitely will be back read more

I don't get the hype. Drove half an hour to check it out. Never again! Overpriced and just average burger, absolutely nothing special. Fries were awful. The place is tiny and there's nowhere to sit. Food took too long for a burger joint. NO RESTROOM. You can't even wash your hands before a meal. This is actually the first time I've been to a food establishment that doesn't have a restroom. But this is probably the closest place I've eaten at that looks like a hole in the wall so ‍ read more

Came tonight and order a double cheeseburger with bacon along with sweet potato fries. Total 22$....insane!!!! But we all know the price wouldn't matter much if it was worth it. First, the prices listed on the whiteboard are not the prices listed on the kiosk. Some items are by a few cent others like the brussels sprouts are by a 1$, it may be pennies but it's just horrible business. Not to mention they chat 1$ to add tomato or lettuce. Now let get to the set up of the burger spot in Glendale... a complete hole in the wall. Not customer service interaction, just place your order and wait until they call your name... (they guy As for taste... extremely, extremely, extremely average. Not worth no type of hype. The sauce is like Big Mac sauce but thinner and sweet , made the bread a bit soggy for me. The patties were dry, seasoning was okay. Burger was hot though. Sweet potato fries taste like any frozen fries you buy and toss in an air fryer. All In all, i didn't finish the food and I wouldn't make my way back to the place on purpose. read more

Save your money! Burgers were good but nothing special like they're hyped about. Their sauce tastes like Big Mac sauce. They charge you a whole extra $1 to add tomato to your burger. You take your own order anyway so no customer service really. It's very small inside and honestly would've been happier with in n out. read more

Our first time here and certainly not our last. We set out this evening going to Shake Shack and very happy we decided to come here. Michael guided us with great suggestions. The fries were some of the best we have ever had. They are fried with beef tallow which just puts it over the top in all the best ways. We had the double cheeseburger and it was right on point. Michael cooked it to perfection. Absolutely delicious. Happy to know our Glendale has amazing restaurants like For The Win. Bonus- they play 80s movies on VHS. Really takes us back. So if you like hamburgers do yourself a favor and go here. Your taste buds will thank you. read more

Came here today for some burgers. We were craving some smash burgers. We got there and ordered, the guy was a little distracted and we had to repeat our order. No worries. We noticed the people before us coming back because an order was wrong. When we got home we noticed ours was wrong also. Maybe he was a bit distracted. But the food made up for it. The burgers were nice and smashed, crispy and tasty. I liked the grilled onions and fry sauce. So good. The fries were good also, I'm just not a fry person. Don't plan to eat there unless you get lucky as there is really not a lot of places to sit. Just one lost star for the service and wrong order (mine and the few people around us that also had wrong orders). read more

I learned about this For The Win branch on a whim while I was in Glendale, and I'm happy I stopped by. It's located in a small strip small, and there are several tables outdoors (though overall, it's a small space). Ordering was easy, and you can also place your order online. I got a double cheeseburger with bacon, and it was a hefty yet satisfying sandwich. The burger was heavily sauced, so if I had to do it all over again I would ask for light sauce or sauce on the side. The bacon faded into the background given the cheesy meatiness on display, but it's hard to turn down bacon when it's available. Service was friendly, and the fries were well-salted. read more

i placed a mobile order and waited another 20 minutes once i got there although i got there during the time frame that was given. the staff would take a while to acknowledge customers. the fries were alright, they reminded me of in n out fries but a little crispier. the burger was good but not really memorable and the edges weren't really crispy. it came with the sauce, cheese, grilled onions and pickles which was nice. it's located in a shopping center so parking wasn't an issue; however, they only have 2 small tables outside and inside is pretty crammed. read more

I don't think I've ever written a 1-star review, but I am sad to say that this 1-star review belongs to For The Win. Went here for the very first time as I've been curious to try it. My boyfriend and I walk in with the impression of our order being taken right away as most places do. But one of the workers told us that we have to order through their QR code because I quote, " it's going to take a while to get the orders out." We were taken aback from not being greeted and at the fact that us ordering in person was very inconvenient to them. At this point now, the QR code wasn't working and we had informed the same guy about it and he relayed the message to his other coworker in the kitchen. What really left an ill taste in my mouth was the other coworker in the kitchen whose face I did not see. But had the audacity to say something along the lines of "I still have to do x, y, and z. I don't understand why they can't just order online." and other things shouldn't have been said in front of customers (cause I heard him loud and clear). Eventually my boyfriend and I figured it out and placed an order online. The person who told us to order through the QR code the first time had suddenly lightened up his mood as we were waiting outside, but we were unfortunately already upset at our initial experience. Don't get me wrong, the burgers were as good as everyone else has said & the fries were alright. But because of the experience we had in terms of their service, we will sadly be not returning. For those that haven't tried this place and want to order from them, just do it online before you get to the place so you don't have to go through the same interaction we did. read more

I love burgers. And this spot is spot on. One of my go-to spots after a heavy leg day. I go for the double cheeseburger with everything. I like how the patty is thin and flavorful. All the toppings already included is perfect because it doesn't overdo it. The fries are good, but it's a hit or miss. Sometimes they're super cold and sometimes they are semi-fresh. read more

Parking is super tiny, and it is located in this truly hole-in-the-wall spot of this tiny shopping center. However, there is ample parking on the main street if you can snag one close by. Inside, there is extremely limited seating. There are probably like 4 high chairs at a tiny tables connected to the walls. However, the burgers are so yummy!!! We really did love the quick meals we had there. While their menu has a few different options, what you really want to get here is the smash burger! Will definitely be returning here AND ordering via DoorDash for delivery too! read more

In the rain, I decided to try 2 of the highest rated burger joints in LA. First up is For the Win. I went to the Glendale location as it was the closest. This is a small hole in the wall within a small strip mall. The eating area was tiny. The cheeseburger was $8, and it was delicious! For not expecting much at all, it surpassed all my expectations and some. The meat was flavorful, and just the right amount of crispiness. The bread made the difference, as it soaked up all the goodness and flavors of the patty. I would highly recommend this place, and would definitely come back. The staff was nice. The 2nd joint I hit up was Goldburger. This is the 2nd time I've been here this week. I don't think my previous review was fair as I had a hamburger and a pastrami burger. I thought I should be comparing apples to apples, so I ordered the Goldburger. Although it was a double, I still think it was a fair comparison. It was good, but I think For the Win's flavor was better. For the Win's buns also added to my opinion. I still think Goldburger is overrated. Growing up in LA, I've always loved In-N-Out. It's always been my go-to because of convenience. I've never been disappointed. For the value, it's still the best. read more

I have been seeing a lot of hype about FTW since it started at Papilles during the pandemic. It was great to see them able to switch directions during the pandemic from a prix fix menu to to-go. Now they are at multiple locations and about to open at Grand Central. On our way home from SoFi, we decided to try it out. Tried to phone in an order, but you have to order online. GPS lead us to a small strip mall on Brand across from the Lexus dealership. Everything else in the strip mall was closed in the evening, so parking wasn't an issue. The place is small. Inside there's a counter with maybe 6 stools. No public restroom available. There's one table out front that can seat 4. Food is made to order, so despite online saying it'd be ready by 5:30, it was more like 5:40. The menu is pretty basic with hamburger or cheeseburger as single/dbl/triple or a chicken sandwich, then some sides such as fries, Brussels sprouts. Add ons of bacon, jalapeño, lettuce tomato available. We had dbl cheeseburgers without add ons, and an order of loaded fries. There is no description of the loaded fries online when I ordered. Basic burgers come with pickle, grilled onions and fry sauce. Loaded fries had grilled onions, cheese, and fry sauce. The burger: since it is a smash burger, I don't think a single would have been sufficient meat. So glad I got a double- maybe a triple next time? The meat was flavorful, edges crispy. The onions were grilled to perfection and had a great carmelized taste. I wish the lettuce and tomato were included and not add ons. I ate mine on my way home in the car. Good but I don't think I would crave it or make a special trip out to get it. My friend, the burger connoisseur, said he thought it was a bit salty. I tend to like my food on the saltier/flavorful side. But he ate it with the loaded fries, so thought it might have been the fries. He said it was good and rated it as a 6-7/10. read more

Taste: I'm a smash burger freak and I gotta say, this is a quick jump up my best burger in L.A. list. I'm a big fan of potato buns, so if you like that you'll be happy. This burger and goldburger smash the best two Patties I've seen so far. Really really crispy maillard effect ends. This one has a little bit of a unique taste with some added pepper and a kick in the burger sauce (chipotle maybe?). I enjoyed it. The fries have a little sweetness or something to them, which I like. Experience: It's kind of a hole in the wall, but I enjoyed sitting outside listening to the old men at the next place over playing backgammon. Slamming their pieces and laughing. Mood Before/After: I was in a rush to go do some errands and a little anxious earlier. Im feeling pretty relaxed and happy now. Ready for my night Fullness: Not bad, I was pretty hungry and I don't need more, but honestly it was so good I want more. What else did I eat/do today affecting my experience: I had a deli sandwich earlier today. Eggs and toast for breakfast and celery as a snack. I don't think it affected my mood much, but I was way more excited for this meal than those ones. read more

The food was great! The service was excellent! I took my food to go but it smelled so good I pulled over and ate it in my car lol.

Staff nice. Burger yummy (double cheese) but TINY bun and real greasy. But it cost me $12.50 for a burger and a $2.75 canned Pepsi so after tax, a hidden $0.63 "kitchen charge" that is nowhere on the menu and the cheapest tip displayed of 15%.... $20.total!! I've tasted the burger, it was great. Next time, In 'N Out for half the price. Would have given five stars but they lose a star for their prices and nickle and diming. Try it once, then go to In N Out read more

Small hole in a wall in downtown Glendale. Located in a small strip mall next to an Armenian grocery store. Barely any seating but who cares, you'll gobble up the food so fast that it won't matter. The menu is very limited because they focus on what they do and they do it really well. We went there on a Saturday and the line was out the door but the wait wasn't too bad. The girls behind the counter were doing an amazing job managing the place all with a smile on their face and a friendly attitude. Enjoy! read more

Food is good, but hidden charge made me give "could've been better" score. When taking my order, the gentleman taking it quickly advanced to the payment screen, but not before I noticed a "Kitchen Service Charge". When I asked about it, he said it was added because they recently advertised on Instagram which caused an influx of customers. This put a strain on their kitchen so they added an extra charge because their business was so busy. This extra charge was not clearly posted anywhere that I noticed and it's not until you see your receipt that you realize there is an extra 4% charge added to your bill. So basically, we as customers are punished and have to pay more because we are giving them more business?! Their marketing/promotion draws you in support their business and in return, they charge an extra fee that's hidden. Ridiculous. IMO, integrity is more important than taste and customers shouldn't be punished for growing your sales. If you are need to pay your staff more, be more generous or raise your menu prices, but don't add a "Kitchen Service Charge". It's pretty much a tax on customers to make our food. Isn't that already what you charge for the meal?! I won't be going back until that price is removed. I am not sure if this charge is across all their locations, but it's definitely at the Glendale location. Awful. read more

Waited nearly 30 minutes for our burger as no one called out our order. We had to check in and they said it had been ready for a while. Employees walking in and out of the restaurant calling orders did not check in on us once. We were a group of 4 that had obviously been waiting quite some time while other orders were being handed out quickly. Just make sure you're checking in because an employee may walk past you several times and not even look at you. Food was okay as the poor customer service tainted our experience. read more

Five years ago, this place would have been a revolutionary. Today, it's just another smash burger in an over saturated market---and not a particularly good one. How do you make a smash burger? Roll 2.3-2.7 ounces of ground beef into a ball, put it on a a really hot skillet and then smash as hard and completely as you can. The perfection is in the details. Meat to bun to cheese ratio, composition of ground beef, fat ratio, amount of time on the skillet. Nothing about this place felt interesting or new or particularly memorable. Add to that a bland space and fairly lackluster service and you have a misnamed burger joint. read more

sauce was amazing on this smash burger. Burger is small but the sauce is what makes it.

This was our second stop in came our burger show down. We had just finished eating at Burgers Never Say Die. We went there based on photos and Yelp reviews. Once we realized For the Win had a location in Glendale that was so close, we had to try it before we headed home. Triple cheeseburger, pickles, grilled onions, special sauce. The patty was perfectly cooked and salted. I could really taste the black pepper. The special sauce was not super sweet. Fries were excellent. There is seating, it's limited, but you don't have to eat in your car. Burgers never say die was very good. Don't get me wrong. This however, is on another level. I'm gonna say it. This is the best cheese burger I've had. For The Win gets the W. read more

Burger -3/10 Fries -1/10 (fries cooked in advance and left under a heat lamp) Service -0/10 Cold food & Horrible service I hate leaving bad reviews. But, this place deserves it for the poor customer service and poor food quality. The first issue was waiting for our food for an hour. We ordered through yelp ahead of time to minimize any wait at FTW. We ended up waiting an extra 45 minutes for our food. We ordered our food ahead of time through yelp. When we arrived, The brunette lady cashier informed us that our food was on the grill and almost ready. But, that wasn't the truth. We went back in to see where the food was only to be told it's going to be another 15 minutes. After reminding her she said the food was almost ready, she admitted that our food was never even started and she would bump our order up to the top. After many other customers who came after us left with their food, we went back in to check on our food. Which, still wasn't ready. After much time had passed our food was finally ready. No apology was offered. We opened up our food to find that the whole order was cold. I mean actually cool to the touch. We had just received the food less than 2-3 Minutes before opening the bag. And it was literally cool to the touch. I never complain. But, after waiting an hour and having them lose my order and lie to me that it was almost ready, I had to try to get my families order hot. The brunette lady at the counter was very rude and refused to check the food I handed her. I just wanted her to feel how cold the food was. I handed her fries and she threw them in the trash without checking them. Then, notified me that FTW cooks their fries in advance and keep them under a heat lamp. Not a great idea, in my opinion. The lady cashier said she needed to find a manager to help resolve the issue. I stepped outside to give them a moment because they seemed lost and didn't know what to do. After a couple minutes I went back inside to hear the grill guy yelling that "this is all her F****ing fault". Her being me. This was "all my fault" because I ordered food? They were cussing and yelling talking about me while I was standing right there inside the business. Such an unprofessional business and a horrible experience just for a 3/10 burger and 1/10 fries. Who knows food may be better when it's hot. But, I'll never know that because I will never subject myself to this treatment again. read more
