Wow. I have to say the coffee here is some of the best I've had on Long Island! And definitely the best in garden city. I love that they have tasty treats on display, but also have a full menu for lunch and dinner. It's a bit overpriced, but you get what you pay for. My only suggestion would be to offer more healthy options ie salads, gluten free wraps and offer gluten free bread that's not covered in seeds (like thousands of seeds LOL). The only downside is when you order via the apps (grubhub Uber eats) there seems to be a major disconnect. My order is wrong 75% of the time. And sometimes takes double the time that's quoted. That's just bad service. They need to give the baristas/ cooks the original order. Not a re-written version, because that's where mistakes happen. read more

Five star rudeness. If you're ordering food it's not going to go well. I promise you. After waiting 10 minutes I asked if it was coming. "2 minutes." 6 minutes later... "Do you know how much longer this is going to be?" No response. "Excuse me. How much longer is this going to be?" "2 minutes." "That's what I was told 6 minutes ago." ::they touch a touch screen:: "Probably 8-10 minutes." Never again. This was at 8:30 am when it was empty. IImagine when it's busy. read more

I like everything about this place with food especially the cookies and decor of marble tables. However, the prices are really insane. One cookie is like $7 or $8. If they have better deals like specials with cookie or pastries with a drink, it would be better. read more

Five Coffee has been on my bucket list for a while, and I finally had the chance to check it out!The first thing I noticed was how spacious and beautiful the cafe is. It has such a welcoming atmosphere and is a great spot to sit back and enjoy your coffee and gossip. I wasn't hungry enough to try any of their food this visit but I had to get their famous cinnamon roll and wow! It was soft absolutely delicious. They also have a huge variety of pastries, so I'll definitely be back to try more.Of course I couldn't leave without ordering an iced Americano and let me tell you... that was a GOOD Americano. As a coffee lover, I'm always searching for a great one, and this one hit the spot.Parking was also super convenient with plenty of street parking, plus a parking lot if needed. read more

Visit Date: January 20, 2026 I got the LI cafe passport book from my co-worker for Christmas. In January I got to go to two coffee shops in this book, for five was the second one. I went with one of my friends. We both had the mochas and I had a shot of espresso because the book recommended it. The espresso was good, not overly bitter, pretty much just right. The mocha was amazing a good ratio of chocolate, coffee and espresso. It was pretty busy here and the atmosphere was nice. The snacks looked really good maybe one day I'll go back for a pastry. I give for five five stars and five beans and would recommend coming here if you like coffee shops. read more

l've rarely encountered such a rude and unwelcoming barista. I ordered a pour-over, but when I tried to simply watch the brew process, the barista was incredibly cold and dismissive, essentially refusing to let me see what she was doing. The elitist attitude continued throughout the transaction; she couldn't be bothered to tell me which beans she was using, and once the coffee was finished, she didn't even acknowledge me or announce that the drink was ready. It's a shame when a shop's "gatekeeping" attitude ruins the experience. There is no excuse for treating customers with that much contempt. I won't be returning to a place that makes me feel like an inconvenience for ordering a coffee. read more

Have been craving an iced Gotham Mocha & have been wanting to try the Honey Butter Pancakes since I saw them on Instagram a while back. The girl at the counter was nice as usual, however once the transaction was finished I just wanted to ask her if the server will bring my food outside if I choose to sit there. I couldn't get her attention if my life depended on it. So I go outside as I see a group eating with plates and silverware, as if the order was brought outside to them. After about 15 minutes of sitting outside, I decide to go back inside just in case me being outside was somehow overlooked. I'm inside at least another 10-15 minutes as I'm starting to feel impatient because how long does it take to make pancakes? It's not like I was with anyone else, it wasn't a big order where waiting that long would be expected. They're finally brought to me and at least they were hot and freshly made. There was a smell of lemon zest which I love. The pancakes themselves tasted more like a zeppole than a pancake to me which was good, but not necessarily the kind of pancake I was craving. The iced Gotham mocha seemed to have less mocha than I have gotten in the past. And before I left I wanted to use the bathroom, only to discover someone went number two and it was smeared all over the tank as well as all over the floor behind the toilet, and the person threw some napkins over it and left, leaving other customers to discover it. Totally made me nauseous and told a manager about it. There was a line of people going to the bathroom as well, so I can't believe people were just letting this go without telling someone. read more

Can only provide a review as someone who went in quickly and grabbed a couple pastries to go. Not from the area and was actually looking for the French Workshop which was recommended to me by a local and could not find it. Instead I found this place and was happy I did. Everything was so delicious, service was quick and friendly. The space looks really nice to sit inside and enjoy a coffee. Ordered a plain croissant 4/5 pretty good A cake of the day which was an orange cake and was exceptional 5/5 A chocolate chip cookie 5/5 one of the best chocolate chip cookies I've had in a while. It was huge, great flavor and I liked that it was given to me warm! Would definitely get more treats here when in the area. read more

Went to grab coffee, cashier who took my order today was rude. Filled both cups 3/4 of the way up with ice even though less ice was requested. Charging $7 for a cup of ice with a splash of coffee is ridiculous. Cookie was meh. Decor is cute, place is cute for going to hang out, definitely not for the service or for the food/drinks UPDATE: Went back for brunch, because the food is actually okay. And lo and behold, I ordered another iced cold brew again LARGE with less ice and I received a actual large iced coffee with less ice. So that means the last 2 times I've been here, the cashier who took my order has been charging me for a large and ignoring my request for less ice and giving me a small FILLED with ice. I hope everyone is AWARE and checks their orders so they are not jipped like I was read more

One of the reasons I really like this place is because of the chill vibe. They have high tables, low tables & couches for seating. You can sit and enjoy your food/drinks while working remote if u wish. They have an assortment of coffees, pastries breakfast eats and lunch sandwiches. The place is spacious, clean & chill. I been here once before years ago during the cricket World Cup this time I came to get coffee with a friend. A little overpriced in my opinion but damn their cold brew is strong! The service was quick and great. The ambiance was actually dope. The front area was packed, the cafe itself was packed. We sat on the outside patio under an umbrella with the sun beaming it was really nice. I'd come back here to study or just hang out for sure. read more

Overall, a nice spot with great coffee! The coffee was amazing--definitely the highlight of our visit. The pasta was okay, nothing too special, and the chicken was unfortunately overcooked and a bit hard. The ambience is really good, making it a lovely place to sit, relax, and enjoy a cup of coffee. I'd come back again mainly for the coffee and the cozy atmosphere. read more

Keepin' it real out here in Garden City. Decent vibes, located on a beautiful block with a nice cozy interior, average service, and the same can be said about the food and drinks. I've visited this place three times, and the Wi-Fi didn't work all three times. On my third visit, I did a quick search through the reviews and found out that their Wi-Fi almost never works. Not a big deal to some people, but I do take things like this a little personally. I'd rather an establishment not provide Wi-Fi at all than mislead patrons by saying there's Wi-Fi, only to intentionally ensure there's no connectivity. (Just my opinion, no proof or evidence other than my experience and others' reviews.) During my second visit a month ago, I asked the staff about the Wi-Fi issue, and the barista told me to keep trying; it can be spotty at times, but it would work. Looking back, I'm pretty sure the staff is all in on this because I wasn't the only one asking about the Wi-Fi whenever I visited. Can't imagine how many people ask about it on a daily basis especially with a college nearby. Not sure if providing Wi-Fi is a mandate from headquarters, but either way, it would be much better practice to just get rid of the Wi-Fi completely instead of misleading people. I totally understand that having people sit there all day with just a small drink isn't good for business, but the Wi-Fi situation just isn't right. I'm open to being proven wrong because the café really fits my style, but it's just very disappointing to order $20 worth of food and drinks the first few times (just a matcha latte the third time), only to sit down and realize the Wi-Fi still doesn't work. read more

This place is grossly overpriced. I'm just saying. A slice of cake, and a spinach pie (pattie) = $20. That's crazy!

I really wanted to love it but I'm not sure if this place hits the mark for me. If you're coming here just for food or drink it's great, I am mostly rating this as a place to study/do work because it's my primary reason for visiting. There's a great selection of food and drinks, but it is fairly pricy. They have a long list of breakfast and lunch items. Food is tasty and they have some nutritious options. Chicken Caesar sandwich (rating 4/5), falafel salad (4/5). Drinks are decent. I've had the hibiscus iced tea (4/5) and matcha latte (3/5). For context of price I paid $24 just for the sandwich (including tax) and $8 for a small matcha latte with macadamia milk. So much seating available indoors and outdoors. The interior is beautiful, very clean, and the staff does a great job with cleaning tables once patrons leave. There are outlets everywhere, which theoretically makes it the perfect place to sit down and do some work!! Problem is I always seem to have wifi issues when I go there. My devices seem to connect to the wifi but then the wifi does not work? The staff has been helpful in resetting the wifi but seeing that it's persistently an issue I am less likely to end up here. :( I saw another reviewer saying she leaves feeling robbed and this is kind of similar to what I feel, lol, after spending a hefty penny on food+drink I always end up leaving earlier than intended because of the wifi issues. read more

Met up with a good friend of mine to catch up. She absolutely loves this place so I was convinced to meet up here for an early lunch. Aesthetics 10/10, nice vibe. I was a little thrown off because I expected to sit first and have food brought to us but you go up to the counter to order food then sit down and wait for it to come to table. I don't drink coffee so I chose coconut water with my falafel sandwich which comes with a small salad with dressing tossed in. The falafel was fresh, nice toasted pita, very tasty tzatziki sauce. Overpriced but expected. My friend got a garden city egg sandwich and some version of latte. We had great conversation and enjoyed the afternoon. read more

The atmosphere is lovely, with plenty of space to work. It's a great spot to meet a friend or get some work done. The service was friendly, and the place was clean, creating a nice vibe overall. The food and coffee are decent, and the croissant is good. However, $10 for a matcha with vanilla feels overpriced. It wasn't authentic matcha, and there was way too much vanilla, making it taste more like vanilla milk. Do not recommend. Go here for the vibes not the food or keep it simple. read more

I had brunch at for five for the first time and it was great! I tried their B.E.C breakfast sandwich and I loved it! After a 3 year hiatus, I decided to give For Five another chance. My previous visit left a bad impression when I saw my Americano being made with tap water from a handwashing sink. That experience turned me off, but I recently returned and chose a milk based drink instead. Last week, I ordered an iced cappuccino, and the experience was pleasant. The staff member who took my order was friendly and clarified how I wanted the drink. It was served correctly with foam, as expected. Unfortunately, my visit yesterday was enough to make me decide not to return. I ordered the same drink--an iced cappuccino--but received an iced latte instead. When I pointed this out and mentioned my previous order, the barista responded rudely, insisting I had ordered incorrectly. I explained that cappuccinos include foam and that I had received it that way before, but he dismissed my explanation, stating he knew better because he had worked there for four years. Although he eventually offered to remake the drink, the interaction had already made me uncomfortable, so I chose to leave. Having worked as a barista myself, I understand the difference between a latte and a cappuccino, as well as the importance of good customer service. Unfortunately, that standard was not met here. If this is how For Five trains its staff to prepare cappuccinos, then there seems to be a lack of consistency and understanding of basic coffee standards. Overall, my experience with For Five has been disappointing. It's overpriced, inconsistent in drink quality and presentation, and, most importantly, lacking in customer service. read more

A great upscale local coffee shop serving great drinks and fantastic food. On top of the great coffee, tea, and baked goods, there's a pretty solid food menu full of fantastic breakfast and brunch options. Everything is definitely on the upscale side, so be prepared for higher price points for everything. It's a super modern, bright, clean, and spacious cafe, with plenty of tables, chairs, couches and armchairs. It's a great place to get some work done, read, or catch up with a friend over coffee or a meal. The staff are really friendly and attentive. $8.96 for a small scone? Okay, normally you get a nice vibe, and a place to sit for a while, understood...but it should be a decent size scone, and another difficult thing about paying $ 8.96 for a small scone it was stale. Great food, great ambience, don't forget great coffee! One of the best avocado toast you can eat. In nice weather you can sit outside.

This coffee bar is in a medical building. I had blood drawn this morning. Fasting and cranky...I walked over for some tea afterward. Tea. Yes, tea,. A tea bag and some hot water. Irish breakfast tea...which I love. $ 4.75 plus tax...this got me some unnamed brand (no label) that tasted like dirt. Ordinarily I don't use sugar BUT I used about 4 packs to kill the taste. This coffee shop has an upscale vibe and is on the pricey side, making it a nice spot to treat yourself occasionally--but it's not somewhere I'd visit daily. The food is quite expensive, and to be honest, I wasn't a fan. The only dish I really enjoyed was the peach French toast, but it costs around $23 for just three small pieces. I'm also not a fan of how they prepare eggs here--they definitely need to work on that. It was too thick for my liking. Also the coffee was just ok.. read more

This place isn't the best for studying because the music is a bit too loud and the WIFI doesn't work. The servers are nice and they work really fast, I got my matcha latte and croissant in under 10 mins and it was busy too.
