And they obviously offer the expected services that one would think that you would get. Obviously their primary bread and butter being oil change. Unfortunately, the location is not equipped to do tire rotations, but everything from basic prevent preventative engine, maintenance maintenance involving oil and oil filters. Transmission fluid checks and many other things are all on offer and all for a relatively good price. The staff members are always willing to be fully transparent with the vehicle . They will never try to force you to change anything purchases and stuff. They will tell you various recommendations but all in all the final decision is yours. For instance, they'll pull out the air filter for your engine and then they will show you your current air filter next to a newer one to basically just show the difference. However, you don't have to purchase a new one. It is again completely up to you. all in all a good place. Highly recommend. Only thing that really marks it down is the fact that it's right next-door to a cannabis shop and if you're like me and you cannot stand the smell of cannabis when it's burning if you are unlucky and the wind is going in just the wrong direction you're going to smell it. But overall, this is a minor issue.

Went the extra mile. Obviously cared about what they were doing and doing it right, and when they made a slight error in something they were honest and fixed it. And the amount it cost me was magnitudes lower than what the brand name service center would cost me. Thanks to Zachary, Gideon and the whole team. (Hope I got the names correct.)

She recently brought her car in for an oil change and they brought up a few other items that she should take care of, one of them being her brakes. The CSR gave her a form that listed she needed pads, rotors, and calipers to the tune of +/- $1,800. Thankfully my son was with his grandma and the suggestion of calipers struck him as odd. I am a mechanic so they had me take a look at the information provided. The Burlington Automotives mechanic that did the inspection on her car did call out her brake pads(and a few other small service items), but did not call out rotors or calipers. I did a brake job on her car and, indeed, it only needed pads with the rotors being perfectly smooth and within spec. The calipers were also in great shape with the dust seals still attached, no cracks or anything like that. We went to talk with Louis, the Store Manager, and he first said that pads and rotors are often changed together and thought it was weird the mechanic didn't call out the rotors. I stated it was because the rotors are fine. I asked about calipers and he went into a story about them potentially seizing if there is wear, again, not called out by the mechanic and the dust seals are in great shape. He then said that the CSR was "new" which is a cop out. If the person is "new", they should have oversight and that still doesn't explain how the mechanic got it right and the CSR got it wrong. When I asked what thier policy is for the hand off of information, he said the CSR should take exactly what the mechanic says BUT rotors and pads go together because It can cause uneven wear, we also dont turn rotors, we just go new. It is a real shame because this sort of things gives all mechanics a bad name. To be clear, the actual mechanic's report was on point and I think he was a fine mechanic. The CSR and Store Manager, though, should be ashamed of themselves At the end of the day, they tried to screw an old lady out of a bunch of money. Louis barely apologized, trying to make every excuse he could to get out of admitting they wronged her. They didn't have her best interest in mind.... do they have yours?

I brought my car to Pep Boys expecting a routine brake and oil change service before a major…read morecross-country drive. What I received instead was careless, unsafe service that created a completely avoidable and incredibly stressful situation for me and my child. The technician installed my brake pads backwards--a mistake that led to a progressively louder and more alarming metal scraping noise as I drove. I had informed the technician that I was about to travel through the Yukon with my 5-year-old son at the beginning of May, when road conditions can be unpredictable. I emphasized my concerns, yet my vehicle was returned to me with a critical installation error. My son and I waited for approximately three hours in a waiting area that was playing content not appropriate for children. I was willing to wait, but it was frustrating to hear the technician--who had said he would be starting on my vehicle immediately--spend a significant amount of time with another customer who arrived after me. He even stated multiple times that he wasn't supposed to be performing the work he was doing, but was going to do it anyway. This didn't inspire much confidence, and I became increasingly uneasy about trusting my vehicle--and our safety--to this location. Unfortunately, my instincts were correct. The shop was closed on Sunday, and I had to continue my journey toward Alaska without the ability to return for a correction. I was on a strict travel schedule for work and couldn't afford the delay. I didn't know what was causing the noise and feared I'd face a costly and dangerous repair issue in a remote area. Thankfully, Kal Tire in Williams Lake, BC was able to identify and correct the issue quickly. They treated me and my child with professionalism and care, and I only wish I had gone there in the first place. Driving with brake pads installed incorrectly is not only unsafe--it's a serious oversight that should never happen at a professional auto service center. I trusted Pep Boys to prepare my vehicle for a long-distance drive with a young child, and they failed to provide even the most basic standard of care. While the technician was friendly, it was clear he was stretched too thin to give my vehicle the attention it needed. Ultimately, I wish he hadn't worked on it at all. This was an incredibly stressful and frightening ordeal, especially as a mom traveling far from home in a place I don't know well. I chose this shop specifically to avoid stress during travel, and I regret that decision completely. I strongly urge anyone considering this location to go elsewhere. Your safety and peace of mind are worth far more than the risk.
