I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the decision to deny my son admission to Foothill Christian School's kindergarten program. As you know, my son successfully attended Foothill Christian Preschool, where his Pre-K teacher formally documented that he was fully prepared for kindergarten. During our recent meeting, however, administration (Joy & Mr. G) indicated that he was not ready due to unspecified developmental concerns, and advised us to seek a public school evaluation. Following their recommendation, we immediately had my son evaluated by a licensed Occupational Therapist. The specialist confirmed that his development is entirely within the normal range for his age, noting that public school intervention would not even be applicable. It is disheartening to experience such a significant disconnect between your preschool's curriculum preparation and your elementary school's admissions standards. Given our family's long-standing support of and relationship with the school, we expected a more collaborative, accurate, and supportive approach. While we have decided to pursue his education in an environment better suited to support him, we sincerely hope FCS reviews its evaluation process to prevent other families from enduring a similar experience read more

FCS excels in many areas especially in Christian values. However, I don't believe it is very Christian to have an inexperienced Math teacher for junior high students. How can students become critical thinkers and problem solvers if the right tools are not provided? The teacher's manuals provide lesson by lesson instructions on how to present the curriculum. I ask that the administration sit in each grade level (unexpectedly) to ensure students understand the material being presented. No head up given. Prove me wrong! read more

Figure out some better method for drop off and pick ups. What an inconvenience for your neighbors passing by. I would hate to have my child enrolled there because getting into the parking is a zoo and madhouse. People are cutting drivers off and are blocking the lanes to drive by. Do a better job or the community will need together and complain to the city! read more

This school does not do anything academic for your children's future. They do not give out any real awards. No honor roll, no principles honor roll, no presidents award. They give out one award to all the kids call "Imago Dei Award" they split the class in thirds and have it at the end of the semesters. This is basically a participation award for nothing, with no value. All the parents show up to support our kids but think it is a joke and we make fun of it with each other while we wait for it to start. read more

I have some very serious concerns about this school, mostly regarding the supervision during recess. My son is in the Junior High, and I am concerned because he says that the child care workers are not very attentive. My son tells me about how he would see another child would fall and that no workers did anything to help. And he has also told me that he sees different people being mean to others like calling them names and sometimes hitting people, and all the child care workers do is say "Hey, please stop that." At least once a week I hear a story about how something happened at break and how my son had to go help and tell a person to stop if they were calling names and helping someone up he saw them fall. He said this, "Me and my friends were playing in the parking lot behind the gym after lunch and there were two childcare workers standing near the patio where the tables are looking out at the parking lot. A ball went wild and I went to go get it, and I ended up at the other side of the lot. As I turned back, I saw one of my friends trip and fall. I saw the child care workers look at him and my group across the lot, and they didn't flinch Momma. I sprinted to go help him though, but they never came over to see if anything was ok." This should not be aloud and as I was writing was he was telling me I just got so scared. I am worried. What if he fell and got seriously injured, would anyone care other than his friends? What if he was getting bullied? I am now considering this school, and I think you should too. read more

I went to Foothill Christian when it was on Grand and remember when the Baseline property was bought. My sister was in the first kinder class there. Our home life was hard and our parents were not believers. We got to go to this school because they had before and after school care. We would get there at 6 am and be there until 6pm, most days. Needless to say, the love we received at this school sustained me through some tough times. We heard about God and His love and we felt it. I truly believe the influence from the teachers and school before and after school people helped me to be the believer I am today. I still remember my teachers and Pastor Soper. I will always be thankful for the time I spent here. God Bless this ministry and school. read more

Hands down the best Pre-K - 8th grade school! Voted Best year after year! Our son attended from preschool through 8th grade and it was the best experience for our son and our family. The staff, teachers and administrators go above and beyond to ensure that the kids are safe and cared for. The excellent education he received prepared him for the rigors of high school and now as he moves to university. His acceptance to top universities and finishing high school at the top of his class, we attribute to the fundamentals he received at Foothill Christian School. Our son had amazing experiences and opportunities through the theater, vocal, instrumental music, orchestra and sports teams. All these opportunities and support gave our child the confidence to take on leadership roles in junior high and also in high school. We attribute his strong start to the support we received from FCS. As working parents we found the perfect environment in FCS to support what we as parents were instilling in our child at home. He always felt safe and we were at ease while he remained in the child care program where he received homework assistance as well as activities to keep him active. FCS was home away from home. The support we received as a family made FCS our family, then and now. We continue to support Foothill Christian School through the annual golf tournament (our son attends this event now annually!), annual gala, theater shows and many other events. We are grateful for the quality education our son received. We are Forever Foothill! read more

My daughter started in 6 th grade. After a month in this school we realized of our wrong educational choice and moved her back.

Best. School. In. The. World. That's how I describe Foothill Christian to my friends and family whenever the topic of school is brought up. This is my daughter's second year attending Foothill Christian, and I can honestly say it was the best choice we could have made for her. The staff, faculty, administration, and child care are all amazing and my daughter feels safe, loved, and cared for. We "discovered" FCS when were invited by friends to watch their school play. We walked out of the play so impressed with everything we saw and started talking about how she wanted to go to Foothill in the parking lot! I enrolled her the following year, and we couldn't be happier. If you are looking into private Christian education for your child, you MUST put Foothill Christian on your list of schools to tour. read more

Both our children since been going to his school since preschool. They have great teachers and staff who really attend and care for the children. The school also has a great summer program, there are fewer field trips due to Covid, but the camp director, Mr. Wright able to fill many fun on-site activities like pickleball, belly bumpers, water play, E-sports, archery, and drone demonstration. This review is for the summer "camp". If you're looking for a summer camp experience, their program is more like daycare with a Lord of the Flies feel. Camp teachers are pretty removed, don't really interact with or engage with the kids. They just let them do whatever; most of the day is free-play with little supervision. If your child has a strong personality, they will do fine; but if your child can't stand up to bullies, then it may not be the best option for your child. Both my boys said the playground was full of bullies, kids excluding people from play, name-calling, etc. Teachers were nowhere to be found to monitor that kind of behavior. There's no cultivating of any character or teamwork or social skills etc., relationship building with the kids, etc. The lady checking in kids also felt free to be irritable and rude to my own child in front of me when she felt she waited too long for confirmation of his name. If she felt free to do that in front of me I don't know... So as far as a daycare goes, its probably better than most places - clean, safe, has some organized games in the morning. But as far as a "Christian camp" goes, I'd go somewhere else. There's also very little communication as to what goes on week to week, day to day. You don't know what's being taught at chapel. I paid for the Summer Bridge program and have no idea what they taught, or how my child is doing, nothing ever came home! No communication from the teacher, no evidence of work done. They don't even tell you what they covered. Regret paying the extra fee for that. The 3 stars is for the nice facility and keeping my child alive! For older kids the experience might be better; for younger kids around 1st - 3rd grade that still need some facilitating and monitoring, I would not send them here. read more

We have been at Foothill with my son since Kindergarten, and he is now in 8th grade. I can't say enough about the role FCS has played in the raising of my son. He has grown to be an exceptional person... smart, athletic, musical, and all with a servant's heart. Since Kindergarten he has taken advantage of pretty much everything the school has to offer. He started with piano and vocal in 1st, added viola in 4th, and has also played on the basketball team since 6th. Thanks to all of these opportunities (especially in the arts), my son has found a deep love for worship and has been leading on the worship team for Jr. High chapel for the last 2 years. I can't imagine there is a better school to help raise such a well rounded young man. Mr. G (the Superintendent) is an amazing leader, and since we have been at the school so long we have been able to see him at the beginning of a vision/goal, and complete it with his team many times over. The school gets better and stronger in every area every year, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a Christian school. I now have ANOTHER Kindergartner and we are going to start all over again. I'm so glad we get to go through another 9 years with Foothill. I look forward to seeing where these opportunities take my daughter. read more

Both of my daughters have attended school here since kindergarten. They are now in 5th and 8th grade. I could not have hoped for a better school experience for them. Foothill is like one big family. I know that everyone from teachers, administrators, child care workers to custodial staff and other families all love, care for and look out for my girls. They have had not only an amazing education, but also been exposed to multiple extracurricular activities including cheer, drama, mission trips and sports that have enriched their school experience. I also have been very pleased with how the whole team has gotten together to create a learning plan for my youngest daughter with dyslexia. I took my daughter to get cnslg by the principal, cash, for the ex screaming at her and the principal did nothing. Also he said this school's library has a lot of books but don't meet school requirements. Being a private school they get away with a lot. read more

This review is to recognize the two 5th grade teachers! First of all COVID has stopped our in person learning for now, but we have faith that we will be back safely very soon! The administration has gone above and beyond to put safety first for the Foothill team and families! Mrs. Chappell and Mrs. V are both outstanding teachers! They are both Positive, Enthusiastic, Patient, Loving, Kind, and extremely organized! They welcome all questions and ALWAYS answer with patience . Being in a distance learning atmosphere there are computer glitches at times and all of the kids are patient and receive patience in return. It has only been a week and my child is so happy, joyful, comfortable, and thrilled with his classes and teachers! They have implemented a House reward system that encourages team building and camaraderie similar to Harry Potter. The kids get to work in breakout groups and it gives them independence and a chance to bond while working on speaking skills! We are looking forward to a fantastic year and feel so blessed to have the opportunity to have Mrs. Chappell snd Mrs. V! It's such a breath of fresh air to wake up to to smiling teachers who love our children! Mrs. Knight our viola teacher is also fantastic and has amazing group control with a positive and cheerful disposition! Mrs. Heminger our computer teacher is a loving and gentile spirited teacher who is always positive in her teaching ! Also looking forward to art class with Mrs. Feazell who is extremely talented and has the ability to bring out the children's most unique artistic creativity! Thank you Foothill for providing our child a Christian education with amazing teachers! Weird that there are no reviews so far. This location is on baseline now (and has been for several years). I had two kids go here from preschool right thru 8th grade. A great environment and adequate education. My daughter was well prepared for st lucys, and my son is still doing his best (at being apathetic). They both still stay in touch with the kids they met at fcs, and some of the teachers too. read more
