My daughter a Senior LOVES this school - from the teachers to the students to the challenging curriculum. St. Lucy's integrates compassion into their teaching standards, emphasizes the importance of values, and builds leaders through each of their classes and lessons. Though it is a small High School, it allows for a lower student to teacher ratio, giving the girls more confidence when asking questions, engage in group activities, and opportunities for one-on-one time with the teachers. Teachers are passionate about seeing their students succeed. They are so great about sharing moments of pride they see within your daughter- their good behaviors and achievements; and they know the importance of getting the parents involved should an issue arise, and do it in a very respectful, approachable manner. As a graduate of St. Lucy's, I can say without a doubt this school has made me into the strong and independent woman I am today. I went to an amazing University that taught me so much, but St. Lucy's did so much more for me. In everything they do, they try to make you into the best woman you can be. They always had programs to help a young woman find her way such as yoga, career day, woman's health day and so much more. They made me comfortable in my own skin, and gave me the confidence to chase my goals and dreams. St. Lucy's also gave me the opportunity to make life long friends and connections. I am not Catholic, and I really appreciated the fact they knew not everyone that attends is. The religion courses teach you about how to be a better person, and appreciate and respect other religions. Religion classes are were some of my favorite classes during my four years. The teachers are not just teachers, they are mentors and role models. They care about every single one of the students, and give their heart to them. They make the students interested in the subjects they are teaching, because they let their passion show. Every single one of them has the proper training just as public school teachers do. They prepare every student for college and the work load they will encounter. During my freshman year of college, my writing professor was impressed with my writing skills, and the training I received at St. Lucy's. Most of the students in my class, had no idea how to write a good essay. My friends in the class struggled with the essay, whereas I breezed past it with no problem and received an A. I was involved in multiple clubs and athletics, and I can honestly say I had the best time of my life. The coaches and advisors challenge you to be the best you can be. Almost all of my friends that played a sport, got some kind of scholarship to college. The clubs and athletics are some of the best programs around. It is amazing they continue to have a 100% acceptance rate into college, and a 100% graduation rate year after year. Not a lot of schools can say that. St. Lucy's is 100% worth the money. Typically, we would not feel compelled to write a review for a school. However, I wanted to share our opinion and experience. We transferred our daughter entering her sophomore year. Moving from Northern California, our daughter loved her highly regarded all girls school up north. Moving a 15 year old girl is typically not a fond experience. But the staff and wonderful environment of St Lucys, along with the great friends and families that we met, made her experience incredible. She loves SL, has continued to be challenged to excel in academics and proudly represents her school in sports. As parents, we find the SL staff approachable and genuine. Amazingly, the cost is a relative bargain, the campus beautiful, and we cannot provide a higher review. read more

As a graduate I can say I'm very grateful my parents sent me to St Lucy's. So the school isn't 100% perfect like some people have mentioned in reviews & yes I've been there & once and a while yes you will get a teacher with a strong character who isn't the nicest or most helpful or yes a teacher who does more talking than teaching but overall my experience for high school was the best I believe a young woman can get it. My strongest friendships today are still from the amazing women I met there. Had I gone to another school I don't think i would've nearly had a better or even sub par education to what I received here or had met the quality people I call more than sisters but my family now today. read more

Class of '02. I made a few really REALLY good friends there, but that can happen anywhere. Crappy AP course selection, no IB courses, mandatory Channel One viewing was totally lame and did not make me interested in nor keep me up on current events. MUST attend for four years to graduate. A few excellent teachers (Smelser, Belanger, Ms Littleton, Rhonga who's not there anymore), but also some heinously unqualified biased twits who would specifically pick on those they did not like (no, not me, I was okay because I was quiet and got good grades). Beautiful campus, stairs are good for your legs, and on a clear day you can see downtown LA in the distance. Not that Catholic for a Catholic school. It's good that there is a tolerant attitude toward other religions (and not just other Christian religions), but that doesn't mean that the Catholic teachings need to be watered down. Also, a lot of the girls would act/dress slutty, read Cosmo in class, gossip cruelly, etc. and the teachers would turn a blind eye. I'm class of 2010. Wow ladies, some of you are really harsh. The fact that the school offers "limited ap courses" merits one star?? Because of the amount of AP courses I took I got credited over 20 units in college. As for the school's education and curriculum, college is an absolute joke, and I'm attending one of the best four year colleges in California. Some of you are complaining about the catholic bigotry because they let the girls read Cosmo? These girls are 14-18 years old, they'll get their hands on that stuff regardless and it's not up to "Catholicism" to ban reading material. Mean girls are everywhere, especially as teenagers, don't blame the school for bullying girls. Lastly, how lame can you be? The majority of the one star reviews are from graduates from the 90s or early millennium. It's 2013 people! You really think your experience is relevant anymore? In twenty years the last thing I'm gonna do is review my high school experience online. This school is an excellent place. I attribute a lot of my success in academics to this institution. I am so glad my daughters have graduated and moved on from this overrated school. The "imposter principal" athletic director and teachers really have over ego complex issues. If they have graduated from the school and moved on with they're lives, why don't they keep moving on. Don't come back because you can't figure out life and nobody else will hire you. The athletic director is a waste of time. As the sports teams suffer and parents complain, she ( Pantaleno) doesn't care. She doesn't even go to any of the games for a first hand perspective on what is happening. But if you are a past student, graduated from the school, come on back and apply no matter the sport ( track has weak ULV student coach,Soccer weak prior graduate). Typical for the school and past student hiring resonates right info the teaching. A large portion of the teachers are prior St Lucy's graduates who couldn't pass public school requirements for teaching, so they end up at Lucy,'s. The school is so behind in the times, lacking computer workshops and common sense life classes. Don't get me wrong the school teachers will teach your girls how to be stuck up, try to act like they are better than everyone else, make parents pay more money each year with no school improvements and then your girl does horrible on SAT TESTS and other college exams because the school left that part out of teaching. Like I said I am glad my daughters moved on and are in college, I just wish the school would do it he same and let the past students move on. Keeping women in their place for decades. Or at least they try to. I will preface this by saying I graduated from this school in 1991. Back then, there was no online review. However, from what I have read and heard, not much has changed. Education: My opening line was no joke. Lucy's is part of a tri-school community (Damien and Pomona Catholic are the brother and sister schools). Where Lucy's offered it's students sewing classes and held an annual fashion show, Damien (our brother school) had debate and annual debate competitions. Where other local high schools offered a wide variety of AP classes, we were limited to AP Calc, AP English Lit, AP History, AP Spanish, and perhaps one or two other AP classes. But we always had the opportunity to take typing, death and marriage, and similar important leadership/career building courses. I took as many rigorous classes as I could, but a class mate of mine took sewing, typing, marriage, and similar classes. I graduated with a 3.5 GPA, she graduated with a 3.8 and honors. I eventually went on to law school and now own my own practice, and educate and train other attorneys, judges, financial and mental health professionals in out-of-court conflict resolution processes. I also lecture locally and nationwide on this same topic. My friend: she's married. While applying to universities, I told my St. Lucy's guidance counselor that I wanted to be a lawyer and that that was my focus. In the letter of reference she wrote on my behalf for University applications, she stated that I would probably make a decent lawyer, but it would be a tremendous loss to the teaching community. I never said anything about teaching. I love teachers, and respect them greatly. My frustration is how much the school pushes it's students, young and ambitious women from all walks of life, to take on stereotypical, "traditional" female roles. They do not offer the opportunities that today's young women NEED. Teachers: Some truly outstanding teachers while I was there. Charleen Littleton and Anthony Ippolito were the BEST! Many of the teachers really care about the students and really want them to succeed. Unfortunately, as a private school, the teachers do not have to have any formal teaching credentials. In fact, some of my class mates went on to teach at Lucy's, not because of any formal training or knowledge, but because they were known there. Religion: The school is very open to all different religions. Mass is required, and all ceremonies are very Catholic. But one of my best friends was Muslim. I never had a sense of any discrimination based on religion towards anyone. And we did learn about various different religions. Student Life: Girls can be mean. I liked that, as a freshmen, we were assigned a "big sister" senior to show us the ropes. My big sister always made sure that I was remembered on special student days, like when candy grams were sold. Some other students were just down right mean - and the teachers pretty much stayed out of it. Bullying is a reality here, and I do not know if it is on their radar today. Campus: gorgeous campus. Very ample. A bit drafty in the winter, especially in our uniforms - I would layer pantyhose, with tights, and socks to keep warm (at the time, we only had skirts and shorts to wear with short or long sleeved oxford shirts). My personal recommendation: take a look at the students the school produces (the universities they attended, the careers they entered) and the academic opportunities they offer. I know many of my class mates went on to become teachers, hair stylists, and stay at home mothers - all noble professions... if it is a choice they made. My experience was that the school staff were pushing me towards such a future, despite my own goals and interests. For the last reviewer, Tamara H, reviewing a school because of their act in firing a gay teacher is not useful for someone considering this school, certainly not warranting a 5 star rating - you provide absolutely no information about the education, which is what I would think viewers want to read about. The current decision that St. Lucy's has made, firing a beloved teacher because he married his partner when it became lawful to do so, is not only bigotry and ignorance in it's purest form, it is a HUGE embarrassment to this former alum and many others. So now, not only is Lucy's lacking in education opportunities for women, it has shown it's true ignorance and teachings of hatred towards those within the community. Oh my goodness! Such mean things being said about an incredibly excellent school. I want to add my review here because I cannot relate with even one negative thing appearing in these previous reviews! Our dream was that our daughter would attend St. Lucy's and she did and it was probably the crowning experience of her life to that point. She had an utterly awesome four years there, met lifelong friends, had excellent instruction and continued on to a private university where she graduated with honors. The young women that attend St. Lucy's are very fortunate because they are receiving a first class education. Whether they choose to pursue a professional career or not really is up to them. Every young woman that I knew who graduated in my daughter's class were highly encouraged to pursue the utmost of what they could do. Indeed many of these young women are now successfully involved in professional careers today. When my daughter attended St. Lucy's the sports program was one of the best in Southern California bar none. It was an incredible experience for her to participate on a CIF level team and helped create such confidence and pride in her and all the young women who participated in sports there. I would recommend St. Lucy's unequivocally to any family of a young woman seeking an excellent and rigorous education, which will prepare them for the most prestigious of universities. I would recommend St. Lucy's to any family of a young woman looking for a nurturing and encouraging social and educational atmosphere, building self confidence and self-esteem for the future. I would recommend St. Lucy's for any family of a young woman looking for a school with excellent, well-trained teachers and staff who care deeply about their students and who are willing to go the extra mile to help them. So upset with this school and the freshman experience. Spanish teacher is causing us to rethink our choice. Spanish teacher is the opposite of what the other teachers are like. I wish we could drop this class and start over in French. This teacher is rude and has No idea how to work together with parents and the girls. My daughter asked for help and was told to hire a tutor. This teacher does not keep her appointments and is quite defensive rather than trying to solve the problem. My daughter has an eye issue and teacher assured me she would be loved to front. Instead left in back row last seat. Excuse was that 5 girls had eye sight problems but really couldn't she move be her up to row 2? Graduate of 2013. I have realized with my 1st quarter of college almost over, that Saint Lucy's did in fact prepare me for college life. My classes are very easy to me. While I continuously hear my fellow college classmates who are from public schools complain about the work load, I feel my work load is very manageable. Yes, there are not as many AP classes as one would hope to be, but the work you do in just the regular classes alone is great preparation. The 7 class periods is also nice because now people can focus on science classes as well as art classes which is exactly what I enjoyed doing my last year at this school. Personally, I've never been bullied at this school. There is the occasional conceited girl looking for a fight but that happens at any school ever, and the only fights I've actually heard of happening got broken up within the minute it started and of course the girls involved were sent to Sister Helen's office. The only time I felt uncomfortable around certain people was when some people (who I barely knew) started asking me very personal questions. I didn't really see it as bullying though, more of 3 stooges sticking their noses in somewhere they don't belong. The campus is gorgeous, if you're lucky you can see the occasional deer or coyote walking across the amphitheater(usually in the early morning). Most of the people I met there were nice, and the Saint Lucy sisters and the Damien brothers that I have met and become friends with will always be lifelong friends to me. The teachers care about teaching. They do not want their students to fail, and they are always happy to answer a question you have even after class. Go talk to your teachers if you're having trouble with something, because it's good practice for college, and your teacher will see that you actually care about your grade. While I was there, the Drama program was a very welcoming thing. You didn't have to already know how to do certain things to be apart of it. The head teacher for the program has changed since last year, but from what I've heard it has so far remained a strong program. Through Drama I met many of my best friends, and usually Damian's drama boys help out with the program and visa versa. It was an incredibly fun thing to be apart of, and I would recommend it to anyone. TL;DR: It prepared me for college. Even the regular classes prepare you. Campus is pretty, and has wildlife. Had we known what this school is truly like, we would not have wasted our daughter's time and energy and our hard-earned money for a sub-par education. My spouse and I are both educators, and college preparatory this school is not. It was our daughter's dream to go to St. Lucy's since she was in 5th grade, but by the middle of her freshman year she had become disillusioned. We started paying more attention when she said, "I feel as if I'm getting dumber every day I'm there." The instructors seem to think that if they assign mountains of mindless rote-memorization homework the parents will believe they are doing a good job. Our daughter regularly had about 6-8 hours of meaningless, busy work per night, including weekends. But there isn't much critical thinking going on, and girls are often having emotional breakdowns in the bathrooms from the stress. Rather than meeting strong girls that are empowered to do good in the world, my daughter encountered many mean, petty girls caught up in their social dramas. And the social and cyber bullying were unbelievable. If parents actually took a look at what their girls are doing on their phones, many would be appalled at who their daughters are when they think they´re under the radar. In terms of learning and assessment, the school is mediocre at best. In her academic core classes there were nothing but multiple choice exams. Oftentimes our daughter was asked to study several chapters of a book, and then have all of that information reduced to a 3 question, multiple choice or true/false assessment where, if you get one answer wrong, you earn a D. For the first two years at St. Lucy's, the girls do not write in any of their academic classes. In freshman honors English my daughter did not write one essay all year. How can you be in an English class, honors or not, and not write? In college you need to write and to think critically, but this school focuses on memorization, not thoughtful thinking. The freshman honors English teacher was beyond incompetent and lazy. She did not personally grade one assignment nor prepare her own exams. The quizzes were graded by the girls in class and the tests were multiple choice and graded by a Scantron machine. The content in the English exams, including the final, was a joke- basically, how well do you remember story trivia and Irrelevant questions such as: "In Ch.18 what color was the tertiary character's dress?," "What was the first word of the chapter?," or "Did the character do such and such in Chapter 7 or 8?" (BTW, these are real examples.) Sometimes the quizzes were taken from the internet (kids figure this out) or were made up on the spot: the teacher would randomly flip through the pages in the text, find a quote, and ask, "Who said this?" My daughter and many of her classmates were frustrated and anxious as they read and re-read the books, could tell you all about the plots, themes, character development, and so on, but kept getting low grades because they didn't remember trivial factoids that were completely irrelevant in the story. What ever happened to literary and critical analysis? This is what we paid for? At Back to School Night this teacher charmed everyone's socks off to give us a good impression. She is vivacious and funny and we thought, "Wow!" But as the year wore on we found her to be most indolent, giving excuses and playing the pity card: "I'm so busy with my three kids and my hectic life that I didn't have time to write a proper exam." She relies on her personality to win over the students, parents and administration. She never responded to emails, and wasn't accessible to students other than her cross country athletes. In fact, several of the teachers plainly refused to answer parents' emails, and there is nothing you can do about it; there is an administrative barrier that purposely makes it difficult to have access to teachers. Also, there are 28 half days where the students get out at 12:30 or earlier. Go on to their website and count them for yourself; make sure to add six days of 10:30 a.m. dismissal times during fall and spring finals for a grand total of 28 half days of no teaching! My daughter's math and history teachers were kind, but sadly, more teachers than not were either rigid, lazy, incompetent, or inexperienced. This is not the story that they will tell you at their prospective student meetings, but it's the experience your daughter will have if you choose to pay $10,000 for the privilege. The petty, self-impressed student body, the lack of accountability for teachers, and the administration's complicity in this is why we removed our daughter from this school. read more

St Lucy's provides a comfortable environment that inspires all of the students to speak their mind without fear of judgement. Specifically, a lot of the teachers provide a challenging yet supportive environment where the students can thrive without being handed an A. Most of the complaints about Saint Lucy's come from parents who's kids are used to getting straight A's without trying, and blame the teacher for their daughter's failures. For example, many of the students (and their parents) in Ms Pitre's classroom complain because of the difficulty of her class. In reality, however, Ms Pitre is one of the few teachers that pushes her students to do their best. She is a wonderful AP teacher, and is constantly providing several means in which students can get help. Not only does she give multiple hand outs from her own work, not from the internet, she also makes videos about how to do every single problem she teaches. She's a wonderful teacher, and as a student of hers I can say firsthand that any and all complaints against her are false. I hope the negative reviews here are not true. It's been 3 years since my oldest daughter graduated from St. Lucy's and she's now a Junior at UCLA and will graduate on time (2017). It was because of her teachers and counselor at St Lucy's that she was accepted at UCLA, UC Berkeley, and UC San Diego. My wife and I plan on enrolling our youngest daughter at St Lucy's in the fall, so we hope the quality of education is still top notch. My oldest daughter and her friends have nothing but great things to say about their experiences at St Lucy's, and we hope our youngest daughter will have a great experience there as well. read more

From the first Open House we attended at St. Lucy's, we have been and continue to be impressed with the students. The first students we met from St. Lucy's were the Regent Ambassadors who were warm, friendly, confident and took time to answer all of our questions on the tour. It was a very good impression and set St. Lucy's apart from other high schools we visited. There are many critical outcomes expected from four years of high school. The outcomes we are very satisfied with for our daughters are that there is an excellent focus on having students take responsibility to research and academically prepare for college on the part of teachers and their counselors and that the emphasis on service has created opportunities and has opened doors to new experiences. read more

(This is a continuation of my previous review. Sorry, I ran out of space to finish it the first time around) Throughout this year, I never wrote a word. Sure, I would take down notes on my own, but on tests all my writing skills were thrown in the garbage.This doesn't just apply to my English class, this applied to all of my classes (math aside). Everything was scantron. This wasn't because the teachers were trying to prepare us for standardized testing or anything, no, us being tested by scantrons was only a result of the teachers' laziness and complete unwillingness to provide an actual education. As a parent, it may appear that your daughter is getting an education, because she will have no life outside of school, and she will never be far from her homework. But just take a minute to ask her what she's learned this year. Ask her questions that a student of her grade should know. You'll be surprised by what you hear, there will be gaps in her knowledge, and hopefully, you'll get a better image of what St. Lucy's is really like. (Please note that, yes, your daughter will know information, the thing is, they won't LEARN information. Because everything is scantron (multiple choice), your daughter will be forced to cram facts into her memory so she can recall it on a test, then forget it soon afterward. For example: she may know that Manifest Destiny is the notion that the expansion of the US throughout the American continents was both justified and inevitable, but ask her why that doctrine came to be widely believed? Ask her how that idea came to be? She won't know those latter questions, however, because that requires critical thinking which is nonexistent at St. Lucy's.) By the way, are you wondering why I added quotes every time I used the word teacher(s)? That's because these people may call themselves teachers, but, like the school, that's a lie. They are NOT teachers, teachers teach. Hence the TEACH part of teacher. (Also, all of the above applies to all of the freshman teachers, with the exception of Timothy Staples, Judy Hartranft, and Shannon Herrera, who were very kind people as well as good teachers). I have many more things that I can and would love to say about this school, but I feel that this is enough to give you a little sneak peek into your daughter's future. In conclusion, I would just like to say that as a kid I had looked up at the beautiful campus on top of the mountain and I had pictured myself going there. It had always been my dream to attend St. Lucy's and I felt as though my life would somehow be complete once I started my freshman year. So, imagine how deflated I felt and my utter disappointment upon realizing that St. Lucy's is a joke, (and not the funny kind). I hope this review helped to advise you of what the REAL St. Lucy's is like, and I hope this helps you to make an informed decision before sending your daughter into this prison of a school. First of all, let me begin with the fact that I am not trying to bash the school, but only saying the truth out of my 4 year experience at this high school. (I will also not reveal my name or year of graduation). The best part when I came was that every girl is kind hearted and very friendly so making friends was not a problem at all for me and the other girls in my class. During the year, I was forced to take classes that were very easy for me due to the fact that i bombed my high school placement test, a test that I was very nervous for, as well as the other 160 girls taking it. NOTE: this test turned out to be the one thing that held me back all 4 years. The 2, yes only 2, counselors available both told me that i cannot take higher courses due to the fact that my hspt scores were low. Proving them wrong, I got straight A's freshman year. Whatever classes you take freshman year and the grades you get depict what youb take in the next 3 years, no matter how passionate you are about one class, you can't take it if you were even a minus off from getting in. I asked for a course that I was going to study in the future and they did not give it to me because i got a B one quarter and the prerequisite was B+ and higher... UNBELIEVABLE AM I RIGHT?!?!?! Throughout all the 4 years I attended this school, I experienced many judgmental and criticizing teachers, not mainly towards me but towards the girls in my classes that were "different looking" and had "different personalities" or in other words the "non open ones/quiet ones." Also, I GREATLY noticed that this school uses religion as a way to get money. I have never seen a school so greedy and materialistic. The fact that we ALREADY PAY an estimated 10 GRAND A YEAR!... they STILL beg for more money, for example, "more money for boutique, this drive, that drive, donation money, buy this and this and this and we will give you bonus points"... they bribed you. DO WE NOT PAY YOU ENOUGH ALREADY?!?!?! Also, one thing I and every student ABSOLUTELY HATED attending this school was the fact that you MUST bring a date to homecoming and prom or you are not emitted into the dance. IS IT NOT SO IRONIC AND STUPID THAT THIS SCHOOL TEACHES YOU TO BE AN INDEPENDENT WOMAN YET THEY FORCE YOU TO BRING A DATE AND DEPEND ON A BOY FOR SCHOOL EVENTS. Many girls aren't allowed to bring dates because of their parents or they themselves are not comfortable. They say they do this for crowding issues... listen stlucys priory, you people are loaded crooks/thieves... you can afford to rent a big place so that all girls and boys may attend alone or with a date, not being FORCED! Stupid mentality... right? This school has no opportunities either, may I add if not already clear. They offer about 8 AP courses, about 10-15 clubs, and limited room in a courses' class ( I couldn't take a class that I met the requirements for and was dying to take because there was not any room any more... image how FRUSTRATED I was). I begged my parents to take me out of this school but I was not allowed to leave this prison. Students, if you need help, don't go to the teachers... THEY DON'T HELP (at least most of them). I had some great unforgettable teachers (about 4) here and the rest were just AWFUL! Their office hours are useless, class time is worthless and they make you feel horrible and like giving up every second... do you want your daughter to feel this way? (I hope not). The amount of teachers to teach a course... LOW! And if you have one teacher that there is no alternative to drop down or up to (which I and the rest of the school experienced... he still teaches there I believe) You are screwed! He made me feel so stupid and judged everything a student did IN FRONT OF EVERYONE. He was a factor in making me go to a low place in my life and made me hate this school so much more than I already did. THIS SCHOOL DOES NOT PREPARE YOU WELL FOR THE SAT/ACT TESTS. You pay so much yet the "programs"they offer are just terrible. The principle has such an attitude towards everyone and walks around as if she is demanding respect and smiles from everyone... she is also impossible to talk to yet helped me more than the counselors did.The counselors DO NOT LISTEN TO YOU! THEY CURVE YOUR PATH SO IT'S MORE "REACHABLE." THEY GIVE UP ON YOU AND GIVE YOU ATTITUDE BECAUSE YOU SPEAK UP ABOUT YOUR FUTURE. To be completely honest, not even exaggerating, THESE TWO WOMEN (counselors) REALLY... REALLY MESSED UP MY LIFE, COLLEGE ACCEPTANCES, AND CAREER. They are supposed to help me get there...they did nothing but RUIN my path, hopes, intelligence, confidence, and happiness, yes... they stripped me away of my happiness. Overall, I apologize for ranting on and on but someone had to be honest... someone had to say how messed up this school is and remains to be. Staff, miserable. I am in the process of pulling my daughter out of this school. What a horrible waste of our time and Money! We were all very excited to have our daughter go to St. Lucy's. She was proud to wear the uniform and tell people she was a St Lucy's girl; We were impressed with the campus and what appeared to be a top notch education. However, In the first 3 months my daughter had the worst time receiving any help what so ever from the Spanish 1 teacher, and after asking for help on 4 separate occasions was only told to hire a tutor, and refused to tell her if she was even studying the right material. This for an honor student getting A's in her other core classes and the teacher instead of helping with this mandatory class, said that "this is not introductory Spanish, this is College prep" When asked what other introductory class a child could take since only 10% of the children in the class didn't already speak Spanish, I was ignored, and apparently there isn't one. 3 children had to be withdrawn from the school already this year including my daughter because the F was ruining their GPA and even the Tutor said my child knew all of the information. So what if it's just one teacher? The problem is that the issue was ignored. There is a protocol where the student must address the issue with the teacher to resolve any problems , then if it is not corrected, the student must contact the counselor, (who said, you have to just teach yourself), then the parent can contact the teacher, then the counselor..... all of this before you are even allowed to speak to the principal. By the time you go through this BS protocol, your child's grades are crap, and you become so frustrated that there is no helping the situation. This supposed to empower young Woman? No, it's a way to intimidate the child into not saying anything, and risk getting docked participation points because they spoke up. Many children told me of stories of that happening to them. No one did anything, as well as the principal who did not even call me back or contact my daughter or teacher regarding this. Everything was ignored! All for $10,000 a year!! No Thank you!! I suggest you Run from this school. For anyone on the West side of the inland empire, Bishop Amat is a much better choice. For those of you considering a Catholic High school from Rancho to Redlands I was very impressed with Aquinas! The campus isn't in the greatest area but don't let that scare you off. It is safe, and very well secured. The grounds are beautiful and I have never seen Teachers more dedicated to your child's success and learning!! The staff is required to remain at school for 2 hours after school to be available to the kids for any help they need and they truly care about your Kids!! Don't let the "Wonderful Reputation" of St. Lucy's fool you. Whatever it once was, it is not any more!!! read more

St Lucy' s has been a great place for our daughter, from the moment she stepped onto the school grounds she knew it was for her. As she ends her freshman year at the school, she consistly talks about her great teachers as well as the staff of the school. She has made many new friends, we live about 25 minutes away and it so worth the drive for us. My younger daughter has started her research on high schools and we feel fortunate that St Lucy's is on the top of her list despite the fact that she always looking for her own way instead of doing what big sister does. We also have attend many school events and our daughter has participated in the athletic program. We are happy that there are many extracurricular activities available to our girls. It gives them the opportunity to become who they want to be not to mention all the great doors it opens for them. Hands down great school community and our first choice for our girls. read more
