The small class sizes mean every child gets individual attention, and the curriculum is very advanced, engaging, and thoughtfully designed to challenge students while keeping learning fun. The teachers and administrators are exceptional, caring, very communicative, and deeply invested in every child's growth. But what really makes Stratford special is the community. The kids are kind, well-behaved, and genuinely happy. The families are wonderful, invested and share the same goal: creating a nurturing, protected environment where children can still be kids. Parents are on the same page about carefully monitoring what our children see and hear, helping them stay innocent and grounded for as long as possible. People often comment on how sweet and polite the Stratford kids are and it's true! This is especially the case for the kids in 5th grade. They are so kind, welcoming and supportive. The school reinforces the same values we prioritize at home: being good citizens, good friends, and good students. Our family's experience with Stratford has been truly life-changing. Before coming here, our older son went through a very difficult 3rd grade year at another school where he experienced bullying. What hurt us most was that the school failed to inform us despite multiple incidents. There was zero communication until something major happened. Our son suffered in silence for much of the year. When we finally discovered what had been happening, we immediately decided to immediately pull him out and make a change. Stratford was already at the top of my list. I had toured the school and met the principal two years earlier when we were exploring different options -- and, by some miracle, there was one spot open in third grade after another student moved over the holidays. Within a week, our son had taken the assessment and started at Stratford. The transformation was incredible. His anger and sadness melted away, and our sweet, happy boy returned. We will be forever grateful for this school. It's more than just an excellent academic environment, it's a refuge, a true community that supports the whole child and we'll never stop being thankful.

One thing that really stands out about this school is how genuine and personal the environment feels. It is incredible how the teachers and staff remember every child's name as well as the parents. From morning drop-off to pick-up, they always greet families with warmth and kindness, which makes everyone feel welcomed and valued. That level of care and attention truly means so much to parents. The entire school staff has been supportive and dedicated throughout the year. It is clear that the teachers genuinely care about each child's development and well-being, not just academically but emotionally too. A selection of issues we dealt with: 1) Teacher quitting part way through the year and getting multiple replacements with no prior teaching experience. 2) A bomb threat was called into the building next door and the police set up a blockade, the principal Mimi decided not to tell parents until after the fact in order to avoid "panicking" us, so the kids were next door the entire time the police thought a bomb could explode. 3) My son was hit and bit by a child with severe behavioral issues on multiple occasions, and the school refused to tell us when it happened due to their "policies" or take any explicit action to control the student, we would only find out from our son telling us he had been bit or finding the bite marks on him at bath time. 4) Mimi the principal is borderline illiterate and incredibly hostile when dealing with criticism, it doesn't feel good leaving your child's education in the hands of someone who can barely read or write herself, e-mail Mimi if you'd like a taste of what I'm describing for yourself. This school is not safe and I am so glad my son has moved on, no child deserves so be in this kind of environment.

We initially were going to start him in preschool right when he turned 2.5, but it was the middle of the pandemic and we also had a newborn at home so we ended up pushing it off until after he turned 3 in the beginning of 2021. He is our first kid and had never been in school or daycare or even babysat by anyone other than family. We were very nervous about A LOT of things (being newly potty trained, if he could wear a mask all day, interactions with other kids, etc) He also has a speech delay which added to our worries that he wouldn't be able to communicate with the other kids or his teachers. We went back and forth on start dates as we wanted to make sure he would be set up to be successful once he started. From the beginning, Ms. Jamie has been so kind, welcoming and reassuring. She was extremely patient with us and understanding of our first-time-nervous-parent-ness and answered allllllllllll of our questions. When we finally set a start date, we also set up a tour of the school so that our son could be familiar with the space before we left him there. She was so helpful in making sure he would have the best chance at a smooth transition. And it worked - he walked into school confidently on his first day and sobbed on his way home because he didn't want to leave! Ms. Sarah has also been wonderful - she greets our son excitedly each day and is very fast and responsive to anything we need at all. He adores his teacher Ms. Blanca. They do such creative activities and lessons with a wide variety of enrichment in all categories. He is learning about life cycles and solar systems and habitats. He builds with blocks and pegs, traces and paints, runs and dances and sings. They do individual and group activities and I'm barely scratching the surface of everything they do (and he's only going half day M-F)! We have access to an app that gives us picture updates of his day. He is so proud of the work he's brought home and shows it to me frequently. And his speech progress has absolutely exploded! We are SO grateful to have found a school with teachers and staff who we trust are giving our child the best possible environment for him to grow his mind, language, creativity, physicality, social skills, and truly blossom as a young individual. He is thriving at Stratford and we couldn't be happier!

She is loving and no nonsense at the same time. That's the best combination of you ask me. The teachers who care and push you to be better at what you do. Before the transition to the Toddler program Mrs. Sheikh paused and ended up recommending a different teacher instead of the originally assigned teacher. She took the time to consider my son's personality and thought about whose teaching style would best suit him and allow him to thrive. This really speaks volumes to the amount of care and thought that goes into each stage of your child's journey at LePort. My son is currently in Ms. Arzate's toddler class. I wanted to take a moment to recognize her and thank her for all that she does. She not only educates our children, but us parents as well, similar to Mrs. Sheikh. The moment that I appreciated the most is when I came in complaining about everything that my son was doing "wrong" and she stopped me and had me reflect on what I was saying in front of my child. During the moment, I wanted to cry and felt like in some way I had failed my son as a Mom. This honest moment, helped me step back and re-evaluate my interactions with my son. I didn't want him to feel bad like he was always doing something wrong, when in fact he's doing really great. I want him to know that I see his progress and that I am really proud of him and that he should be proud of himself. The next day, on the way to pick up our son, my husband and I were talking about my husband's concerned about wet events in public. I thought about the conversation that I had with Ms. Arzate. I said to him that this may be a year long journey and we can't keep our son exclusively at home or school for a full year. I reminded him that originally our son wasn't going to start night potty training until 6-8 weeks of daytime potty training. At two weeks into daytime potty training, Ms. Arzate's already felt that he was ready to start night time potty training. It was quite the accomplishment and I wanted us to recognize that. We ended taking our son out for dinner and at the end of the meal, my son stopped what he was doing and started to say "pee pee". He held it in until I could rush him to the car and peed in his travel potty. Later, before bed, he got up to go to the bathroom. I expected him to wait for me in the hallway or bathroom in the dark. However, he got up on the stool, turned on the bathroom lights then sat and peed in the potty without being prompted. The culmination of all the hard work by the teachers is starting show through. I am in awe and incredibly grateful for the teachers and staff at LePort of the wonderful work they do to prepare our children for the future. Don't let the older facility look fool you into going somewhere that looks newer. It's the teachers, staff and community that make LePort an amazing place that you can trust to send your child.

Ms. Gallo was very informative during the meet & greet and helped eased a lot of my anxieties putting him into a new environment. When he officially started, Ms. Gallo would call and gave updates on how he was doing. Every day after class, she would let us know how his day went and continued to reassure that things would get better. Our son took to her right away. She has been warm, empathetic, and observant of his needs. Over the past couple months, our son has begun to really thrive! He is more confident in himself and very independent. He has taken the skills that he's learned in school and has started generalizing to home. He grabs his plate and utensils when it's meal time. He cleans up after himself when he's done eating. He uses the potty, cleans up, and washes his hands independently. His speech has grown exponentially. He went from speaking in simple sentences with improper grammar and pronoun usage to speaking in complex sentences. It is apparent that his language abilities are really being fostered in class. It is amazing how much he's grown in such a short amount of time. He talks about his friends daily and tells me how much he loves Ms. Gallo. We are so happy that Ms. Gallo is our first teacher and so excited to see how much he'll continue to grow.
